1927 अंतिम फोर्ड मॉडल टी 15,007,003 वाहनों के उत्पादन के बाद असेंबली लाइन खत्म की। यानी तब की प्रसिद्ध कार फोर्ड मॉडल टी का उत्पादन बंद हुआ।

1928 पोंटियाक, मिशिगन में मुराद जैकब जैक केवोर्कियन का जन्म हुआ जो आगे चलकर कुख्यात अमेरिकी रोग विज्ञानी और इच्छामृत्यु के समर्थक और इच्छामृत्यु देने में संलग्न रहे। उन्होंने सार्वजनिक रूप से लाइलाज मरीज के चिकित्सकीय सहायता से आत्महत्या करके मरने के अधिकार की वकालत की, उनका कहना था कि मरना कोई अपराध नहीं है। केवोर्कियन ने कहा कि उन्होंने कम से कम 130 मरीजों की मरने में सहायता की। उन्हें 1999 में हत्या का दोषी ठहराया गया था। प्रेस ने डॉ. डेथ के नाम से संदर्भित किया।

1934 प्रसिद्ध दक्षिण भारतीय राजनीतिक, सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता और क्रांतिकारी चंपकरमन पिल्लई का निधन हुआ।

1937 दक्षिण भारतीय सिनेमा की मशहूर हास्य अभिनेत्री मनोरमा यतमिल का जन्म हुआ।

1944 गुजरात के प्रमुख राजनेता और ठक्करबापा नगर निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से 12वीं, 13वीं और 14वीं विधान सभा के सदस्य रहे वल्लभभाई काकडिया का जन्म हुआ।

1945 महाराष्ट्र के प्रमुख राजनीतिज्ञ विलासराव देशमुख का जन्म हुआ। देशमुख दो बार मुख्यमंत्री हुए। इसी दिन 1946 में अरुणा रॉय का जन्म हुआ वो भारत की उन महिलाओं में से एक हैं। जो बेहतर सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता होने के साथ.साथ राजनीतिज्ञ भी हैं। सूचना का अधिकार कानून की मांग करने वाली प्रमुख आंदोलनकारी रहीं।

1946 प्रसिद्ध भारतीय-अमेरिकी कंप्यूटर इंजीनियर अरुण नेत्रावली का जन्म हुआ। अरुण एचडीटीवी सहित डिजिटल प्रौद्योगिकी में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया।

1950 ब्रिटेन में पेट्रोल खरीदने पर लगी सीमा को खत्म कर दिया गया। इससे पहले हर व्यक्ति को पेट्रोल खरीदने के लिए राशन कार्ड पर एक निश्चित मात्रा में दिया जाता था।

1956 प्रसिद्ध भारतीय कनाडाई वित्तीय अधिकारी और टोरंटो डोमिनियन बैंक के मुख्य परिचालन अधिकारी भारत मसरानी का जन्म युगांडा में हुआ।

1965 प्रोफेसर, चर्चित खालिस्तानी आतंकी, 1993 दिल्ली बम विस्फोट के आरोपी, टाडा कानून के तहत में जेल में रहे, सुप्रीम कोर्ट से मृत्यु दंड की सजा पाने वाले देविंदर पाल सिंह भुल्लर का जन्म दयालपुरा भाई का, पंजाब में हुआ।

1966 ब्रिटिश गुयाना को स्वतंत्रता प्राप्त हुई और गुयाना स्वतंत्र देश बन गया। ब्रिटिश गुयाना दक्षिण अमेरिका के उत्तरी तट पर ब्रिटिश उपनिवेश का था। 26 मई को गुयानावासी स्वतंत्रता दिवस मनाते हैं।

1977 जानी मानी, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड माॅडल, डिजिटल इन्फ्लूएंसर, टीवी होस्ट, उद्यमी, लेखिका मालिनी अग्रवाल या मिसमालिनी का जन्म इलाहाबाद में हुआ। इसी दिन पापु पोम पोम के नाम से मशहूर उड़िया फिल्म एवं टेलीविजन शो निर्माता, निर्देशक, अभिनेता, संगीतज्ञ, स्टेंडअप काॅमेडियन तत्व प्रकाश सतपती का जन्म मयूरभंज में हुआ।

1983 जापान में आए भूकंप में 104 लोगों की मौत हो गई। इसी दिन बीजिंग ओलिंपिक खेलों में भारत के लिए कांस्य पदक जीतने वाले पहलवान सुशील कुमार का जन्म 1983 में हुआ। यह दो साल पहले एक हत्या करने के आरोप में जेल भेजे गये।

1986 हिंदी साहित्य के प्रसिद्ध कथाकार, गीतकार, समीक्षक और राजनीतिज्ञ श्रीकांत वर्मा का निधन हुआ।

1992 जानी मानी खूबसूरत, बोल्ड फिल्म एवं टेलीविजन अभिनेत्री और माॅडल रुचि सवर्न का जन्म नागपुर में हुआ। वे अभिनेता अंकित मोहन की पत्नी हैं।

1992 जानी मानी खूबसूरत, बोल्ड तमिल, तेलुगू, मलयालम और अन्य भाषाओं की फिल्मों की अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल श्रुष्टी डांगे का जन्म मुंबई में हुआ। 

1998 जापान ने दूसरे विश्व युद्ध के दौरान 50016 ब्रिटिश सिपाहियों को बंदी बनाया था जिनमें से 12,433 की या तो मौत हो गई या उन्हें कैद में मार दिया गया।

2000 दक्षिण लेबनान से इसराइली सुरक्षा बलों के हटने पर लाखों हिजबुल्लाह समर्थकों ने अपने नेता शेख हसन नसरल्लाह के साथ विजय रैली निकाली।

2002 चीन का विमान समुद्र में गिराए 225 लोग मरे।

2005 विश्व रेडहेड दिवस की शुरुआत हुई। डच कलाकार बार्ट रूवेनहॉर्स्ट को इसका विचार आया जिन्होंने 2005 में एक कला परियोजना के लिए कुछ लाल बालों वाली मॉडलों की तलाश की। यह दिवस लाल बालों वाले स्त्री-पुरुषों को एक साथ लाता है और जश्न मनाता है।

2006 विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में हुए एक अहम शोध के मुताबिक एड्स का विषाणु कैमरून में पाए जाने वाले चिपैंजिओं से फैला है।

2007 भारत और जर्मनी के बीच रक्षा समझौता हुआ।

2008 उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने अनाज व खाद्य तेलों की स्टॉक सीमा तय करने के सम्बन्ध में अधिसूचना जारी की।

2010 भारत के सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के न्यायाधीश बी.एस.चैहान और न्यायाधीश स्वतंत्र कुमार की खंडपीठ ने शादी किए बिना एक साथ रहने वाले प्रेमी युगलों क संतानों को भी अपने मां-बाप की संपत्ति में हिस्सा पाने का अधिकार स्वीकार किया।

2014 नरेंद्र मोदी भारत के 15वें प्रधानमंत्री बने।

2016 होलोकॉस्ट उत्तरजीवी यानी हिटलर शासित जर्मनी में यातनाग्रह से जीवित बचे और बाद में अमेरिकी मानवाधिकार कार्यकर्ता हेडी एपस्टीन का निधन हुआ।

2017 पंजाब के पुलिस महानिदेशक रहे चर्चित आईपीएस कंवर पाल सिंह गिल का निधन हुआ।

2018 सीबीएसई के बारहवीं कक्षा के परिणाम आए जिसमें गाजियाबाद की मेघना श्रीवास्तव ने 500 में से 499 अंक हासिल कर भारत में पहला स्थान प्राप्त किया।

2020 जॉर्ज फ्लॉयड की हत्या के बाद मिनियापोलिस-सेंट पॉल में विरोध प्रदर्शन शुरू हुआ, जो बाद में संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका और दुनिया भर में व्यापक हो गया।

2021 संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के कैलिफोर्निया के सैन जोस में वीटीए रेल यार्ड में गोलीबारी में दस लोग मारे गए।

2023 देहरादून में अतिक्रमण से बाधित सड़कों एवं फुटपाथों से अतिक्रमण हटाए जाने हेतु जिलाधिकारी श्रीमती सोनिका के निर्देश पर 5 जोन में अतिक्रमण हटाया गया। नगर निगम, पुलिस, प्रशासन की अलग-अलग संयुक्त टीम बनाकर प्रथम चरण में अतिक्रमण हटाए जाने की कार्यवाही की जा रही है। चंदरनगर रोड, पिं्रस चौक से सहारनपुर चौक, आराघर-माता मंदिर रोड से आईएसबीटी तक, बल्लीवाला चौक से सहारनपुर चौक, विधानसभा से मोहकमपुर तथा  घंटारघर से मसूरी डाईवर्जन आदि स्थानों पर अतिक्रमण हटाने की कार्यवाही की गई।

He publicly advocated the right of terminally ill patients to die by medically assisted suicide, saying that dying is not a crime. Kevorkian said he helped at least 130 patients die. He was convicted of murder in 1999. Referred to by the press as Dr. Death.
