1278 वियतनाम में ट्रॅन राजवंश के दूसरे सम्राट ट्रॅन थान टोंग ने सिंहासन अपने राजकुमार ट्रॅन खाम को सौंपने और सेवानिवृत्त सम्राट का पद संभालने घोषणा की।

1291 वेनिस गणराज्य ने वेनिस के अधिकांश कांच निर्माण उद्योग को मुरानो द्वीप तक सीमित करने वाला एक कानून बनाया। वेनिस अब इटली का प्रांत है।

1519 स्पैनिश विजेता हर्नान कोर्टेस ने तेनोच्तितलान में प्रवेश किया और एज्टेक शासक मोक्टेजुमा ने एक महान उत्सव के साथ उनका स्वागत किया।

1644 किंग राजवंश के तीसरे सम्राट यानी शुंझी सम्राट मिंग राजवंश के पतन के बाद चीन पर शासन करने वाले पहले किंग सम्राट के रूप में बीजिंग में सिंहासनारूढ़ हुए।

1731 फिलाडेल्फिया में, बेंजामिन फ्रैंकलिन शहर के उत्तरी अमेरिकी कॉलोनियों में पहला पुस्तकालय खोला गया।

1829 ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी के गवर्नर जनरल लॉर्ड विलियम बेंटिक ने सती प्रथा खत्म करने की पहल की।

1892 कार्यस्थलों पर श्रमिकों के लिए बेहतर स्थितियों, कार्यदिवस के घंटों में कमी, पर्याप्त वेतन इत्यादि विविध मांगों को लेकर अमेरिका के न्यू ऑरलियन्स में श्रमिकों ने आम हड़ताल शुरू की जिसमें पहली बार श्वेत और अश्वेत आपस के रंग और नस्ल के भेदभाव मिटाकर अमेरिकी ट्रेड यूनियनवादी एक साथ आए।

1895 विश्व विख्यात जर्मन भौतिक शास्त्री, इंजीनियर, फिजिशियन विल्हेम कोनार्ड रॉन्टजन ने एक्स-रे की खोज की और मशीन बनाई। इससे चिकित्सा में क्रांतिकारी बदलाव आया। उनके जन्म दिन पर अंतरराष्ट्रीय रेडियोलॉजी दिवस पहली बार वर्ष 2012 में मनाया गया। इस अवसर पर आधुनिक स्वास्थ्य देखभाल में चिकित्सा इमेजिंग की भूमिका के प्रति लोगों को जागरूक, हितधारकों के बीच सहयोग का आदान-प्रदान होता है।

1900 थिओडोर ड्रेइजर का उपन्यास बहन कैरी प्रकाशित हुआ।

1908 जाने माने भारतीय अमेरिकी अंग्रेजी लेखक, कथाकार, पद्म भूषण सम्मान प्राप्त राजा राव का जन्म हासन, कर्नाटक में हुआ।

1916 जापानी निर्माता एनएसके लिमिटेड को औद्योगिक बीयरिंग बनाने की मंजूरी मिली।

1917 व्लादिमीर इल्यिच उल्यानोव लेनिन, लियो ट्रोटस्की और जोसेफ स्टालिन को अक्टूबर क्रांति के बाद पीपुल्स कमीसार अधिकृत किया।

1919 विख्यात मराठी लेखक, फिल्म अभिनेता, थिएटर कलाकार, संगीतकार, पटकथा लेखक, कहानीकार, हास्य कलाकार, फिल्म निर्देशक और अध्यापक पुरुषोत्तम लक्ष्मण देशपांडे का जन्म बंबई में हुआ। 

1920 प्रसिद्ध कथक नृत्यांगना, अभिनेत्री एवं गायिका सितारा देवी का जन्म हुआ।

1923 म्यूनिख में एडोल्फ हिटलर ने अपने फासीवादी सहयोगियों के साथ मिलकर जर्मन सरकार को अपदस्थ करने की कोशिश की किंतु जर्मन सेना ने यह प्रयास विफल कर दिया।

1922 दक्षिण अफ्रीकी सर्जन क्रिस्चियन बर्नार्ड का जन्म हुआ।

1925 मिस्ट्रेस वाईजीपी के नाम से सुपरिचित पदम्श्री सम्मान प्राप्त तमिलनाडु की प्रमुख शिक्षा शास्त्री, पत्रकार और सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता येचा गुंजा राजलक्ष्मी पार्थसारथी का जन्म मद्रास में हुआ।

1927 वरिष्ठ भाजपा नेता और पूर्व उपप्रधानमंत्री लालकृष्ण आडवाणी का जन्म कराची, पाकिस्तान में हुआ।

1933 मंदी के बाद अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति फ्रेंकलीन डी रूजवेल्ट ने 40 लाख लोगों को रोजगार देने के लिए सिविल वर्क्स एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन का गठन किया।

1956 संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने सोवियत संघ से यूरोपीय देश हंगरी से हटने की अपील की।

1957 ब्रिटेन ने क्रिसमस द्वीप समूह के समीप परमाणु परीक्षण किया।

1959 हिंदी के प्रसिद्ध साहित्यकार लोचन प्रसाद पांडेय का निधन हुआ।

1960 जॉन फिटजेराल्ड केनेडी संघर्षपूर्ण मुकाबले में रिचर्ड निकसन को बहुत कम अंतर से हरा कर अमेरिका के 35 वें राष्ट्रपति निर्वाचित हुए।

1964 जानी-मानी पत्रकार, स्तंभकार, लेखिका, टाइम्स आॅफ इंडिया, इंडियन एक्सप्रेस और बीबीसी जैसे बड़े समाचार संस्थानों में काम करने वाली सागरिका घोष (सुपरिचित पत्रकार राजदीप सरदेसाई की पत्नी) का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ।

1965  ब्रिटिश हिंद महासागर क्षेत्र घोषित किया गया, जिसमें चागोस द्वीपसमूह, अल्दाबरा, फार्कुहार और डेस रोचेस द्वीप शामिल थे। इसी दिन 1965 में हत्या (मौत की सजा का उन्मूलन) अधिनियम 1965 को रॉयल स्वीकृति दी गई, जिससे यूनाइटेड किंगडम में लगभग सभी अपराधों के लिए मौत की सजा को औपचारिक रूप से समाप्त कर दिया। वियतनाम युद्ध के दौरान ऑपरेशन हंप में 1,200 से अधिक वियतनामी कांग्रेसियों ने 173वें एयरबोर्न पर घात लगाकर हमला किया। इसी दिन अमेरिकन एयरलाइंस का विमान 383 कॉन्स्टेंस केंटुकी में दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गई, जिसमें 58 लोग मारे गए।

1966 अभिनेता रोनाल्ड रीगन कैलिफोर्निया के गवर्नर चुने गए। वे 1980 के दशक में अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति हुए। इसी दिन 1966 में मैसाचुसेट्स के पूर्व अटॉर्नी जनरल एडवर्ड ब्रुक पुनर्निर्माण के बाद अमेरिकी संसद सीनेट के लिए चुने गए पहले अफ्रीकी अमेरिकी बने।

1968 अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सड़क यातायात को सुविधाजनक बनाने और इससे सहमत देशों में समान यातायात नियमों को मानकीकृत करके सड़क सुरक्षा बढ़ाने के लिए सड़क यातायात पर वियना कन्वेंशन पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए।

1972 होम बॉक्स ऑफिस एचबीओ लॉन्च हुआ, जो अमेरिका का सबसे पुराना पेड टेलीविजन चैनल है।

1977 यूनानी पुरातत्वविद और थेसालोनिकी के अरस्तू विश्वविद्यालय के प्रोफेसर मैनोलिस एंड्रोनिकोस ने वेर्गिना में 359 ईसा पूर्व के मैसेडोनियन शासक फिलिप द्वितीय की कब्र की खोज की। इसी दिन प्रसिद्ध दक्षिण भारतीय सिनेमा निर्देशक बोमिरेड्डी नरसिम्हा रेड्डी का निधन हुआ।

1983 टीएएजी अंगोला एयरलाइंस विमान 462 लुबांगो हवाई अड्डे से उड़ान भरने के बाद दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गया और उसमें सवार सभी 130 लोग मारे गए। यूनिटा विद्रोहियों ने दावा किया कि उसने विमान को मार गिराया है। जांच में इस दावे की पुष्टि नहीं हुई।

1984 जाने माने टेलीविजन अभिनेता एवं माॅडल विवेक दहिया का चंडीगढ़ में जन्म हुआ।

1988 चीन में आये विनाशकारी भूकंप से 900 लोगों की मौत हुई।

1990 मलयालम सिनेमा की लोकप्रिय गायिका अनु जोसफ का जन्म कांजिराप्पल्ली केरल में हुआ। इसी दिन मैरी रॉबिन्सन रिपब्लिक आॅफ आयरलैंड की प्रथम महिला राष्ट्रपति चुनी गई।

1991 जानी मानी खूबसूरत, बोल्ड फिल्म एवं टेलीविजन अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल पूजा बनर्जी का जन्म नागपुर में हुआ। इसी दिन 1991 जानी मानी, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड मलयालम एवं तेलुगू फिल्म अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल अक्षा परदासनी का जन्म मुंबई में हुआ।

1992 जर्मनी की राजधानी बर्लिन में नस्लवाद के खिलाफ हुए प्रदर्शन में तीन लाख लोगों ने हिस्सा लिया।़

1994 एमटीवी के युवा शो कैसी यह यारियां फेम, जानी मानी बोल्ड, खूबसूरत टेलीविजन अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल नीति टेलर का जन्म गुड़गांव, हरियाणा में हुआ। इसी दिन 1994 में जाने माने भारतीय टेनिस खिलाड़ी रामकुमार रामनाथन का जन्म चेन्नई में हुआ।

1996 जाने माने भारतीय फुटबाॅल खिलाड़ी फारुख चौधरी का जन्म हुआ।

1998 बांग्लादेश में देश के प्रथम प्रधानमंत्री शेख मुजीबुर्रहमान की हत्या में 15 लोगों को मृत्युदंड की सजा दी गई।

1999 राहुल द्रविड़ और सचिन तेंदुलकर ने एक दिवसीय क्रिकेट मैच में 331 रन की साझेदारी कर विश्व कीर्तिमान स्थापित किया। इसी दिन अमेरिकी नागरिक ब्रूस मिलर की मिशिगन के फ्लिंट के पास उसके कबाड़खाने में हत्या कर दी गई। मिलर की पत्नी शैरी मिलर के कहने पर ऑनलाइन प्रेमी जेरी कैसडे ने यह हत्या की। यह घटना दुनिया की पहली इंटरनेट हत्या मानी गई।

2000 बिल क्लिंटन की पत्नी हिलेरी क्लिंटन ने न्यूयार्क सीट पर जीत दर्ज कर इतिहास रचा। हिलेरी बराक हुसैन ओबामा मंत्री मंडल में विदेश मंत्री रहीं। उन्होंने 2016 का राष्ट्रपति चुनाव लड़ा।

2001 अमेरिका द्वारा अफगानिस्तान पर पुनः जबर्दस्त बमबारी।

2005 भारत ने फिलिस्तीनि संगठनों की आतंकी कार्रवाई और इस्रायली दमन की आलोचना की।

2006 इजरायली रक्षा बल ने बेत हनौन की गोलाबारी के दौरान 19 फिलिस्तीनी नागरिकों की उनके घरों में घुसकर हत्या कर दी।

2007 एशियाई बाजारों में पांच सत्रों में तीसरी बार भारी गिरावट दर्ज की गई। हैंग सेंग सूचकांक दिन में लगभग 1,000 अंक गिर गया, जबकि शंघाई कंपोजिट सूचकांक लगभग 5 फीसदी नीचे बंद हुआ।

2008 भारत का पहला मानव रहित अंतरिक्ष मिशन चन्द्रयान -1 चन्द्रमा की कक्षा में पहुँचा।

2009 प्रसिद्ध रूसी भौतिक विज्ञानी और खगोल भौतिकीविद एवं नोबेल पुरस्कार विजेता विटाली गिंजबर्ग का निधन हुआ।

2013 फिलीपींस के हेनान प्रांत में आये विनाशकारी चक्रवाती तूफान से 6000 लोगों की मौत हो गयी। इसी दिन तेलुगू सिनेमा के लोकप्रिय अभिनेता, हास्य अभिनेता, पांच सौ से अधिक फीचर फिल्मों में अभिनय सर्वश्रेष्ठ चरित्र अभिनेता सहित चार राज्य नंदी पुरस्कार प्राप्त अमांची वेंकट सुब्रमण्यम का निधन हुआ।

2014 प्रसिद्ध कनाडाई-अमेरिकी बास्केटबॉल खिलाड़ी और चिकित्सक एर्नी वांडेवेघे का निधन हुआ।

2015 प्रसिद्ध अमेरिकी परोपकारी और पोल्क म्यूजियम ऑफ आर्ट के संस्थापक रिया चाइल्स का निधन हुआ।

2016 रात 8 बजे प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने टेलीविजन पर आकर घोषणा की 500 और 1000 रुपये के नोट रात 12 बजे के बाद वैध नहीं रह जाएंगे। इस नोटबंदी से पूरे देश में इससे अफरा-तफरी मच गई। इसके बाद करोड़ों लोग बेरोजगार हो गये, देश को भारी आर्थिक क्षति हुई और 5 साल बाद भी देश उस झटके से उबर नहीं पाया। इसके बावजूद मोदी देश को जीएसटी, लाॅकडाउन जैसे तमाम आर्थिक झटके देते आ रहे हैं। भारत आज सर्वाधिक बेकारी के दौर से गुजर रहा है। सरकार ने नोटबंदी को काले धन के खिलाफ सबसे बड़ा हथियार बताया, लेकिन भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार 99 फीसदी करेंसी वापिस बैंकों में आ गई। कुछ हद तक डिजिटल पेमेंट्स में बढ़ोतरी आई जरूर, लेकिन कुछ समय बाद वह भी कैश इकोनॉमी में कन्वर्ट हो गई। इनकम टैक्स में जरूर एक साल बढ़ोतरी दिखी और टैक्सपेयर्स भी बढ़े, लेकिन कलेक्शन पर उसका बहुत ज्यादा असर नहीं दिखा। नोटबंदी की वजह से जीडीपी ग्रोथ रेट जरूर घट गया था। आर्थिक विकास दर घटकर 5 फीसदी के आसपास रुक गई थी। कुछ महीने के लिए कारोबारी गतिविधियां थम ही गई थीं। नोटबंदी के बाद केंद्र सरकार ने जीएसटी लागू कर दिया। कारोबारियों, खासकर एमएसएमई की इससे और हालत खराब हो गई। नोटबंदी के बाद से बेपटरी हुई भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था पटरी पर आने के लिए संघर्ष कर रही है। कोविड-19 के मिस मैनेजमेंट ने भारतीय कारोबारियों की समस्याओं को और बढ़ा दिया है।

2020 बर्मा / म्यांमार में 2020 के आम चुनाव में नेशनल लीग फॉर डेमोक्रेसी के नेतृत्व वाली सरकार को फिर से चुना गया। इस निर्वाचित सरकार का तख्तापलट कर फरवरी 2021 बर्मी सेना ने कब्जा लिया। इसी दिन 2020 में कनाडाई-अमेरिकी टेलीविजन व्यक्तित्व और लंबे समय तक जेओपार्डी प्रोग्राम के होस्ट रहे एलेक्स ट्रेबेक का निधन हुआ।

2021 मेक्सिको के अभियोजकों ने एक पत्रकार की जासूसी के लिए इस्राइली जासूसी तकीनीकी उपकरण पेगासस स्पाईवेयर का इस्तेमाल करने के आरोप में कारोबारी जुआन कार्लोस गार्शिया रिवेरा को गिरफ्तार किया है। इस्राइली जासूसी कंपनी एनएसओ समूह के इस सॉफ्टवेयर का इस्तेमाल भारत सहित कई देश की सरकारों ने विपक्षियों और पत्रकारों इत्यादि की कथित जासूसी के लिए किया। मेक्सिको में करीब 15,000 फोन नंबरों की जासूसी किए जाने का दावा किया गया है। मेक्सिको के संघीय अभियोजकों ने 8 नवंबर को गिरफ्तारी की घोषणा की।,जुआन कार्लोस कंपनी प्रोयेक्टोस वाई डिसेनोस वीएमई और ग्रुपो केबीएच से संबद्ध है। जुलाई में मेक्सिको के शीर्ष सुरक्षा अधिकारी ने कहा था कि दो पूर्व प्रशासनों ने पेगासस स्पाईवेयर खरीदने के लिए 6.1 करोड़ डॉलर खर्च किए थे।

2016 at 8 pm, Prime Minister Narendra Modi came on television and announced that 500 and 1000 rupee notes will no longer be valid after 12 midnight. This demonetization created chaos in the entire country. After this, crores of people became unemployed, the country suffered huge economic loss and even after 5 years the country could not recover from that shock. Despite this, Modi has been giving many economic shocks to the country like GST, lockdown. India is today going through the period of highest unemployment. The government called demonetization the biggest weapon against black money, but according to the report of the Reserve Bank of India, 99 percent of the currency came back to the banks. After demonetization, the central government implemented GST. This further worsened the condition of businessmen, especially MSMEs. The Indian economy, derailed after demonetization, is struggling to get back on track. Mismanagement of Covid-19 has further increased the problems of Indian businessmen.

2021 Mexican prosecutors have arrested businessman Juan Carlos Garcia Rivera on charges of using the Israeli spying technology tool Pegasus spyware to spy on a journalist. This software of Israeli spy company NSO Group was used by the governments of many countries including India for alleged spying on opposition parties and journalists etc. It has been claimed that about 15,000 phone numbers have been spied on in Mexico. Mexican federal prosecutors announced the arrest on November 8. Juan Carlos' company is affiliated with Proyectos y Diseños VME and Grupo KBH. In July, Mexico's top security official said two former administrations had spent $61 million to buy Pegasus spyware.
