1492 एनसिसहेम उल्कापिंड, प्रभाव की ज्ञात तिथि वाला सबसे पुराना उल्कापिंड, फ्रांस के अलसैस के एनसिसहेम गांव के बाहर एक गेहूं के खेत में दोपहर के आसपास पृथ्वी से टकराया।

1504 क्रिस्टोफर कोलंबस अपनी चौथी और आखिरी यात्रा से वापस स्पेन लौटे।

1862 भारत में मुगल सल्तनत के आखिरी बादशाह बहादुर शाह ज़फर की निर्वासन में बर्मा की राजधानी रंगून में मौत हुई।

1867 रेडियोधर्मिता के क्षेत्र में महत्वपूर्ण खोज के लिए नोबेल पुरस्कार से सम्मानित मैरी क्यूरी का जन्म हुआ। वह नोबेल पुरस्कार से सम्मानित पहली महिला हैं। वह ऐसी पहली शख्सियत और एकमात्र महिला हैं जिन्हें दो बार नोबेल पुरस्कार मिला है। उन्हें रसायन विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में भी उल्लेखनीय योगदान के लिए नोबेल पुरस्कार प्रदान किया गया था।

1876 विख्यात बांग्ला कथाकार बंकिम चंद्र चट्टोपाध्याय ने अपने उपन्यास आनंदमठ में शामिल वंदे मातरम् गीत की रचना बंगाल के कांतल पाडा नामक गाँव में की। 1876 में इसी दिन रदरफोर्ड बी. हायस अमेरिका के 19वें राष्ट्रपति चुने गए।

1786 संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में सबसे पुराना संगीत संगठन, स्टॉटन संगीत समाज, की स्थापना हुई।

1888 विख्यात भारतीय वैज्ञानिक चंद्रशेखर वेंकट रमन का जन्म हुआ

1893 अमेरिका के कोलोराडो में महिलाओं को मतदान का अधिकार मिला।

1900 प्रसिद्ध कृषक नेता तथा सांसद एनजी रंगा का जन्म हुआ था।

1907 जेसुस गार्सिया ने विस्फोट होने से पहले डायनामाइट से भरी एक जलती हुई ट्रेन को छह किलोमीटर (3.7 मील) दूर तक चलाकर पूरे नाकोजरी डी गार्सिया शहर को बचाया।

1910 प्रथम हवाई माल ढुलाई शिपमेंट (डेटन, ओहियो से कोलंबस, ओहियो तक) राइट बंधुओं और डिपार्टमेंट स्टोर के मालिक मैक्स मोरहाउस ने शुरू की।

1908 आध्यात्मिक गुरु दादा भगवान का जन्म तरसाली गुजरात में हुआ। संत होने से पूर्व यह कारोबारी थे और इनका वास्तविक नाम अंबालाल मुलजीभाई पटेल है।

1912 त्रावणकोर राज्य के अंतिम महाराजा श्री पद्मनाभदास श्री चित्तिर तिरुनाल बालराम वरमा का जन्म हुआ।

1917 व्लादिमीर इल्यिच लेनिन और ट्रोट्स्की के नेतृत्व में बोल्शेविक सेना ने केरेंस्की की अंतरिम सरकार को अपदस्थ कर सत्ता अपने हाथ में ली। दुनिया की पहली समाजवादी क्रांति हुई।

1923 प्रसिद्ध राजनीतिज्ञ, सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता अश्विनी कुमार दत्त का निधन हुआ।

1941 सोवियत सहायता, चिकित्सा जहाज को द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के दौरान जर्मनी के विमान ने हमला कर अर्मेनिया के पास डुबा दिया था जिससे 5,000 से अधिक लोग मारे गए।

1944  फ्रैंक्लिन डी रूजवेल्ट चौथी बार संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति नियुक्त हुए। 1944 में इसी दिन स्पेन की एगुआडिला सुरंग में हुई रेल दुर्घटना में 500 लोगों की मौत हुई।

1947 विख्यात कानूनविद, सुप्रीम कोर्ट में वरिष्ट अधिवक्ता और कांग्रेस के राज्य सभा सदस्य केटीएस तुलसी का जन्म होशियारपुर, पंजाब में हुआ।

1951 जार्डन में संविधान पारित किया गया।

1954 दक्षिण भारतीय फिल्मों के सुपर स्टार तथा राजनेता कमल हासन का जन्म हुआ।

1969 विख्यात बाॅलीवुड फिल्म अभिनेत्री और निर्देशिका नंदिता दास का जन्म हुआ।

1971 फिल्म अभिनेत्री रितुपर्णा सेनगुप्ता का जन्म हुआ।

1973 जानी मानी फिल्म लेखिका, निर्देशिका और फिल्म निर्माता किरण राव का जन्म हुआ।

1976 मलयालम सिनेमा के जाने माने सिनेमाटोग्राफर, पटकथाकार और फिल्म निर्देश समीर ताहिर का जन्म कोच्चि में हुआ।

1978 इंदिरा गांधी लोकसभा चुनाव में विजयी हुईं। 1978 में इसी दिन प्रख्यात भारतीय चिकित्सक जीवराज मेहता का निधन हुआ।

1979 खूबसूरत, बोल्ड जानी मानी बालीवुड फिल्म अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल राइमा सेन का जन्म हुआ।

1981 जानी-मानी खूबसूरत, बोल्ड बाॅलीवुड फिल्म अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल अनुष्का शेट्टी का जन्म हुआ।

1982 तुर्की में संविधान को लागू किया गया।

1987 त्रणमूल कांग्रेस नेता और लोकसभा सदस्य अभिषेक बनर्जी का जन्म कलकत्ता में हुआ।

1996 अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नासा ने मार्स ग्लोबल सर्वेयर का प्रक्षेपण किया। इसी दिन 1996 में भारत में तूफान की वजह से आंध्र प्रदेश में 2,000 लोगों की मौत हुई।

1998 अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति बिल क्लिंटन ने भारत और पाकिस्तान पर लगे प्रतिबंधों में कुछ छूट देने की घोषणा की। इसी दिन 1998 में दुनिया के सबसे बुजुर्ग अंतरिक्ष यात्री अमेरिका के सीनेटर जॉन ग्लेन अपनी ऐतिहासिक अंतरिक्ष यात्रा को सफलतापूर्वक पूरा कर धरती पर वापस लौटे। अधिक उम्र में अंतरिक्ष यात्रा के शरीर पर पड़ने वाले प्रभाव का पता लगाने के लिए उन्हें 77 वर्ष की आयु में नेशनल एयरोनाॅटिक्स स्पेस एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन - नासा द्वारा अंतरिक्ष में भेजा गया था।

2000 हिलेरी रोडहम क्लिंटन का सीनेटर के रूप में चुनाव हुआ। हिलेरी संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में सार्वजनिक पद जीतने वाली पहली महिला बनीं। 2000 में इसी दिन भारत में हरित क्रांति के जनक चंद्रशेखर सुब्रह्मण्यम का देहांत हुआ और इसी दिन पद्म भूषण से सम्मानित समाज सेविका तारा चेरियन का भी देहावसान हुआ।

2002 ईरान ने अमेरिकी उत्पादों के विज्ञापनों के प्रकाशन, प्रसारण पर प्रतिबंध लगाया।

2003 राष्ट्रपति चंद्रिका कुमारतुंगा ने श्रीलंका में आपातकाल हटाया। 2003 में इसी दिन अमेरिका के तत्कालीन राष्ट्रपति जॉर्ज डब्ल्यू बुश ने देश में गर्भपात पर रोक विषयक विधेयक पर हस्ताक्षर किए।

2005 कुख्यात डकैत निर्भय सिंह गुज्जर की पुलिस मुठभेड़ में मौत हुई।

2006 भारत और आसियान विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी के विकास के लिए एक फंड बनाने पर सहमत हुए। 2006 में इसी दिन विश्व व्यापार संगठन ने आधिकारिक तौर पर विश्व व्यापार संगठन के 150वां सदस्य बनने के लिए वियतनाम को आमंत्रित किया।

2007 फिनलैंड स्थित तुसुला के जोकेला हाई स्कूल में छात्र ने आत्महत्या करने से पहले आठ लोगों की गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी।

2008 बिहार के जनतादल (यूनाइटेड) के लोकसभा सदस्यों ने अपने पद से इस्तीफा दिया। इसी दिन कश्मीर के प्रसिद्ध कवि रहमान राही को ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्कार प्रदान किया गया।

2009 न्यूजीलैंड के साउथ आइलैंड में वैज्ञानिकों ने देश में डायनासोर के पैरों के निशान खोजे। यह निशान 70 मिलियन साल पुराने बताए गये हैं।

2012 ग्वाटेमाला में आये भूकंप से, 52 की मौत।

2015 भारतीय निर्देशक और कवि बप्पादित्य बंदोपाध्याय देहांत हुआ।

2017 अफगानिस्तान के शमशाद टीवी पर बंदूकधारियों और आत्मघाती हमलावरों ने हमला किया, जिसमें एक सुरक्षा गार्ड की मौत हो गई और 20 लोग घायल हो गएय आईएसआईएस ने हमले की जिम्मेदारी ली है.

2018 उत्तर प्रदेश भाजपा सरकार में मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने फैजाबाद का नाम बदलकर अयोध्या किया।

2019 प्रसिद्ध अमेरिकी चिकित्सक, लेखक और व्यावसायिक और पर्यावरणीय स्वास्थ्य में अग्रणी कार्यकर्ता जेनेट शर्मन का निधन हुआ।

2020 जो बिडेन संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के 46वें राष्ट्रपति चुने गये। 2020 में इसी दिन जोनाथन सैक्स, राष्ट्रमंडल के प्रमुख रब्बी और हाउस ऑफ लॉर्ड्स के सदस्य का निधन हुआ।

2021 प्रसिद्ध अमेरिकी अभिनेता डीन स्टॉकवेल का निधन हुआ।

7 नवंबर को शिशु संरक्षण दिवस विश्व भर में मनाया जाता है। यह यूरोप से 1990 के दशक में शुरु हुआ। बाद में अमेरिका और बाकी तमाम देश शामिल हो गये।

1602 The Bodleian Library, one of the oldest libraries in Europe, is established at the University of Oxford in England. The Bodleian Library is the main research library of the University of Oxford, and one of the oldest libraries in Europe. It is named after its founder Sir Thomas Bodley.
