30 ईसा पूर्व क्लियोपेट्रा सप्तम थिया फिलोपेटर मिस्र के टॉलेमिक साम्राज्य की रानी ने जहर खाकर खुदकुशी की। यह इतिहास प्रसिद्ध बोल्ड, अत्यंत भोगी, महत्वाकांक्षी और बेहद प्रभावशाली महिला विख्यात मैसेडोनियाई यूनानी जनरल और सिकंदर महान के रिश्तेदारों के परिवार की सदस्य थी।

1099 पहले धर्मयुद्ध के दौरान बोउलॉन के गॉडफ्रे की अगुवाई में एस्केलोन क्रुसेडर्स की लड़ाई ने अल-अफदाल शहंशाह के नेतृत्व वाली फातिमिद सेना को हराया। यह घटना प्रथम धर्मयुद्ध की अंतिम भागीदारी कही गई।

1121 डिडगोरी की लड़ाई में राजा डेविड चतुर्थ के नेतृत्व में जॉर्जियाई सेना ने प्रसिद्ध सेल्जुक कमांडर इल्गाजी पर निर्णायक विजय प्राप्त की।

1323 स्वीडन और नोवगोरोद गणराज्य के मध्य अस्थाई युद्ध समाप्ति के लिए संधि पर हस्ताक्षर किए गये।

1492 विख्यात इतालवी, स्पेनिशन खोजी, नाविक, यात्री क्रिस्टोफर कोलंबस नई दुनिया की अपनी पहली यात्रा के दौरान कैनरी द्वीप पहुंचे।

1499 वेनिस और ओटोमन बेड़े के बीच जोन्चियो की पहली लड़ाई हुई।

1851 अमेरिकन अभिनेता, आविष्कारक और कारोबारी आइजैक मेरिट सिंगर ने सिलाई मशीन का पेटेंट हासिल किया।

1877 विख्यात वैज्ञानिक और आविष्कारक थॉमस अल्वा एडिसन के नाम 1 हजार से भी ज्यादा पेटेंट है, लेकिन 1877 में इसी दिन उन्होंने फोनोग्राफ बनाया था। फोनोग्राफ को एडिसन के सबसे महत्वपूर्ण आविष्कारों में एक माना जाता है। फोनोग्राफ ऐसा डिवाइस था जिसमें आवाज रिकॉर्ड कर दोबारा सुना जा सकता था। बाद में इसे ग्रामोफोन और रिकॉर्ड प्लेयर कहा गया।

1879 पहला अमेरिकी राष्ट्रीय तीरंदाजी एसोसिएशन टूर्नामेंट शिकागो में आयोजित किया गया।

1908 हेनरी फोर्ड की कार कंपनी ने पहला कार मॉडल बनाया।

1914 बाॅलीवुड के बिग बी यानी अमिताभ बच्चन की मां और विख्यात हिंदी कवि हरिवंश राय बच्चन की पत्नी तेजी बच्चन का जन्म फैसलाबाद, पाकिस्तान में हुआ। फ्रांस और ब्रिटेन ने ऑस्ट्रिया-हंगरी के खिलाफ युद्ध की घोषणा की।

1919 भारतीय अंतरिक्ष कार्यक्रम के जनक और भारतीय भौतिक वैज्ञानिक विक्रम साराभाई का जन्म हुआ।

1920 पोलैंड और रूस के बीच वारसॉ की लड़ाई शुरू हुई।

1924 पाकिस्तान के सेना प्रमुख और निर्वाचित सरकार का तख्ता पलट कर राष्ट्र प्रमुख बनने वाले, पाकिस्तान पर लंबे समय तक शासन करने वाले मोहम्मद जिया उल हक का जन्म जालंधर में हुआ।

1928 एम्सटर्डम में नौवें ओलंपिक खेल समाप्त हुये।

1933 क्यूबा के तानाशाह मचाडो वाई मोरालेस सैन्य तख्तापलट के बाद देश छोड़ भागे।

1936 गोताखोर मार्जोरी गेस्ट्रींग सबसे कम उम्र (13 वर्ष 268 दिन) के ओलंपिक स्वर्ण पदक विजेता बने।

1941 फ्रेंच मार्शल हेनरी पीटेन ने एडोल्फ हिटलर शासित नाजी जर्मनी को पूर्ण समर्थन दिया।

1945 भारत के लिए अपना जीवन समर्पित कर देने वाले अंग्रेज व्यक्ति जॉर्ज सिडनी अरुंडेल का निधन हुआ। जॉर्ज सिडनी अरुंडेल (जन्म 1 दिसम्बर, 1878) का नाम भारत के लिए अपना जीवन समर्पित कर देने वाले अंग्रेज व्यक्तियों में गिना जाता है। एनी बेसेंट ने युवाओं की समुचित शिक्षा के लिए वाराणसी में जिस सेंट्रल हिंदू स्कूल की स्थापना की थी, जॉर्ज अरुंडेल उसी स्कूल में अध्यापक बन गए थे। वह भारत की स्वतंत्रता की भावना का सम्मान करते थे। अरुंडेल अंग्रेज, भारत को उन्होंने अपना देश स्वीकार किया था। भारत की जनता की आकांक्षाओं को पूरा करने में उन्होंने कंधे से कंधा मिलाकर भारतीयों का साथ दिया। मद्रास की एक प्रतिष्ठित भरतनाट्यम नृत्यांगना रुकमणी देवी से उन्होंने विवाह किया और उन्हीं का सरनेम अपने नाम में लगा लिया। बाद में जॉर्ज अरुंडेल सेंट्रल हिंदू कॉलेज बनारस के प्राचार्य बने। ये एनी बेसेंट के निकट सहयोगी थे और होमरूल लीग के संगठन सचिव थे। उन्होंने ही सर्वप्रथम राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा की वकालत की और राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा संवर्धन सोसायटी भी गठित की। वह मद्रास लेबर यूनियन के सभापति थे। थियोसोफिकल सोसायटी के अध्यक्ष पद पर वे 1934 से 1945 तक और बाल स्काउट आंदोलन के साथ भी सक्रिय रूप से जुड़े रहे। अरुंडेल शानदार लेखक भी थे। जॉर्ज सिडनी अरुंडेल का निधन 12 अगस्त, 1945 को हुआ। उनकी समाधि एनी बेसेंट की समाधि के निकट अडयार (मद्रास, वर्तमान चेन्नई) में है।

1946 जाने माने सर्जन, चिकित्सक और मेदांता अस्पताल के प्रबंध निदेशक नरेश त्रेहन का जन्म बटाला, पंजाब में हुआ।

1952 पूर्व राज्य सभा सदस्य, भारतीय कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी के प्रमुख नेता सीताराम येचुरी का जन्म मद्रास में हुआ।

1953 यूनान के लोनियन द्वीप में भूकंप से 435 लोगों की जानें गई।

1955 विख्यात जर्मन उपन्यासकार थॉमस मैन का निधन हुआ। द मैजिक माउंटेन यानी जादुई पर्वत उपन्यास से थॉमस को बहुत ख्याति मिली।

1960 अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नासा ने अपना पहला सफल संचार उपग्रह ईको-ए प्रक्षेपित किया।

1961 पूर्वी जर्मनी की कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी ने बर्लिन की दीवार का निर्माण शुरू करने का आदेश दिया।

1962 पहली बार एक साथ दो लोग अंतरिक्ष में गए।

1995 पटौदी परिवार के सदस्य, विख्यात बाॅलीवुड अभिनेता सैफ अली खान और अभिनेत्री अमृता सिंह की बेटी जानी मानी फिल्म अभिनेत्री और माॅडल सारा अली खान का जन्म हुआ। सारा आज की प्रमुख अभिनेत्री, माॅडल और सोशल मीडिया हस्ती हैं।

1997 जानी मानी दक्षिण भारतीय फिल्म अभिनेत्री, नृत्यांगना एवं माॅडल सायिशा सैगल का जन्म मुंबई में हुआ।

2003 संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका ने भारत और इस्रायल के बीच फाल्कन सौदे को मंजूरी दी।

2004 फ्रांस के मशहूर स्ट्राइकर जिनेदिन जिदान ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फुटबाल से सन्यास लिया। इराकी शहर नजफ पर अमेरिकी हमले में 165 मारे गये।

2006 यूरोपीय प्रक्षेपण यान एरियन-5 ने जापान के संचार उपग्रह और फ्रांस के एक सैन्य उपकरण को सफलतापूर्वक अंतरिक्ष की कक्षा में स्थापित किया।

2007 अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नासा के यान एंडेवर से अंतर्राष्ट्रीय अंतरिक्ष स्टेशन पर पहुँचे यात्रियों ने स्टेशन पर नई बीम लगाई। 2007 में इसी दिन लगभग 8 मिलियन वर्ष पुराने एक प्राचीन सरू वृक्ष का जीवाश्म अवशेष हंगरी में एक कोयला खदान में पाया गया।

2008 आमिर खान को उनकी फिल्म तारे जमीं पर के लिए गोलापुड़ी श्रीनिवास मेमोरियल अवार्ड प्रदान किया गया।

2009 भारत के प्रसिद्ध अर्थशास्त्री सी.रंगराजन को प्रधानमंत्री की आर्थिक सलहाकार परिषद का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया। उन्होंने इस पद पर अपनी नियुक्ति के उपरान्त राज्यसभा की सदस्यता से त्यागपत्र दे दिया।

2010 वैज्ञानिकों ने एक रासायनिक यौगिक की खोज की घोषणा की जो एंटीबायोटिक-प्रतिरोधी बैक्टीरिया की प्रजनन क्षमताओं को नष्ट कर देता है।

2012 30वें ओलंपिक खेलों का लंदन में समापन हुआ।

2015 चीन के उत्तरी शहर तियांजिन में हुए धमाकों में 50 लोगों की मौत और कम से कम 700 घायल हुए।

2018 अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नासा ने अंतरिक्ष अध्ययन उपकरण पार्कर सोलर प्रोब लॉन्च किया। इसका उद्देश्य सूर्य की आउटर लेयर का अध्ययन करना है। इसी दिन 2018 में सीरिया के सरमाडा में एक हथियार डिपो में हुए विस्फोट से एक दर्जन बच्चों सहित 29 नागरिक मारे गए।

2020 प्रसिद्ध बिल येओमन, अमेरिकी कॉलेज फुटबॉल खिलाड़ी और कोच का निधन हुआ।

2021 सन 2010 के बाद से ब्रिटेन में सबसे भीषण सामूहिक गोलीबारी में कीहम, प्लायमाउथ में छह नागरिकों सहित अपराधी भी मारे गये। 2021 में इसी दिन विख्यात अंग्रेजी अभिनेत्री, टीवी व्यक्तित्व और नर्तकी ऊना स्टब्स का निधन हुआ।

1099 Battle of Ascalon Crusaders led by Godfrey of Bouillon defeat Fatimid forces led by al-Afdal Shahanshah during the First Crusade. This event was said to be the final engagement of the First Crusade.

In 1121, at the Battle of Didgori, a Georgian army led by King David IV won a decisive victory over the famous Seljuk commander Ilgaji.

Arundel British, he had accepted India as his country. He stood shoulder to shoulder with the Indians in fulfilling the aspirations of the people of India. He married Rukmani Devi, an eminent Bharatanatyam dancer from Madras and adopted her surname as his own. Later George Arundale became the Principal of the Central Hindu College Banaras.
