1789 अमेरिका में पहली फेडरल एजेंसी द डिपार्टमेंट ऑफ फॉरेन अफेयर्स की स्थापना हुई।

1836 दक्षिण आस्ट्रेलिया में एडीलेड नगर की स्थापना हुई।

1844 उत्तरी केरोलिना स्थित अमेरिकी टकसाल और चार्लोट आग लगने से नष्ट हो गये।

1862 अमेरिकी शहर कैंटन में हरिकेन तूफान के कहर से 40 हजार से अधिक लोगों की मौत हुई।

1888 फिलिप प्रैट ने पहला अमेरिकी बिजली से चलने वाला तिपहिया वाहन का निर्माण पूर्ण कर उसका प्रदर्शन किया।

1889 भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस की शाखा ब्रिटिश इंडिया कमिटी को लंदन में दादाभाई नौरोजी, विलियम वेडरबर्न, डब्ल्यू एस कैन और विलियम डिग्बी के नेतृत्व में खोला गया।

1897 पत्रकार, स्वतंत्रता सेनानी और राजनेता लोकमान्य बाल गंगाधर तिलक को पहली बार गिरफ्तार किया गया।

1913 प्रसिद्ध महिला स्वतंत्रता सेनानी कल्पना दत्त का जन्म हुआ।

1921 प्रेडरिक बैंटिन और उनकी टीम ने टोरंटो विश्वविद्यालय में शुगर कंट्रोल के लिए काम आने वाली इंसुलिन के खोज की घोषणा की।

1922 ब्रुसेल्स में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय भौगोलिक संघ का गठन हुआ।

1935 चीन के यांग जी और होआंग नदी में आई बाढ़, से करीब दो लाख लोगों की मौत हुई।

1939 ब्रिटिश भारतीय सरकार ने क्राउन रिप्रेजेंटेटिव पुलिस की स्थापना की जो आजाद भारत में 28 दिसंबर 1949 को सीआरपीएफ अधिनियम के लागू होने पर केंद्रीय रिजर्व पुलिस बल बना।

1940 लोकप्रिय कार्टून चरित्र बग्स बनी पहली बार चलचित्र ए वाइल्ड हेयर में पर्दे पर आया। 1940 में इसी दिन प्रसिद्ध भारतीय लेखिका भारती मुखर्जी का जन्म हुआ।

1944 प्रख्यात साहित्यकार रामचन्द्र शुक्ल के सहयोगी पीतांबर दत्त बड़थ्वाल का निधन हुआ।

1949 जेफ्री डी हैविलैंड द्वारा तैयार ब्रिटेन के भारी भरकम डी हैविलैंड कोमेट विमान ने अपनी पहली उड़ान भरी थी। ये दुनिया का पहला जेट विमान था।

1950 भारत के जाने माने मोहन वीणा वादक, शास्त्रीय संगीतज्ञ विश्व मोहन भट्ट का जन्म हुआ।

कोरियाई युद्ध दिग्गज युद्धविराम दिवस - 27 जुलाई

1953 दक्षिण और उत्तर कोरिया के बीच हुए उच्चस्तरीय युद्धविराम समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर हुए। इसके तहत शत्रुता को प्रभावी ढंग से समाप्त करने का संकल्प लिया गया। इस उपलक्ष्य में प्रति वर्ष 27 जुलाई को कोरियाई युद्ध दिग्गज युद्धविराम दिवस मनाया जाता है। 

1960 जाने माने भारतीय राजनीतिज्ञ, शिव सेना नामक राजनीतिक पार्टी के मुखिया और महाराष्ट्र के 19वें मुख्यमंत्री उद्धव ठाकरे का जन्म हुआ।

1962 अफ्रीकी-अमेरिकी नागरिक अधिकारों के संघर्ष के नेता मार्टिन लूथर किंग जूनियर जार्जिया को अल्बानी को जेल में डाल दिया गया।

1963 केरल के तिरुअनंतपुरम में कृष्णन नायर शान्तिकुमारी चित्रा में जन्म हुआ। चित्र प्रसिद्ध भारतीय शास्त्रीय संगीत, भक्ति और लोकप्रिय संगीत गाने के लिए प्रसिद्ध हैं। उन्होंने मलयालम, कन्नड़, तमिल, तेलुगू, उड़िया, हिंदी, असमिया, बंगाली, बड़गा, संस्कृत, तुलु, उर्दू और पंजाबी गीतों के लिए आवाज दी है।

1967 जाने माने फिल्म अभिनेता, पटकथाकार, निर्देशक और सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता राहुल बोस का जन्म बंगलौर में हुआ। जाने माने फिल्म और टेलीविजन कलाकार आसिफ बसरा का जन्म अमरावती में हुआ।

1969 दक्षिण अफ्रीका के पूर्व टेस्ट क्रिकेटर और अब तक के सबसे धमाकेदार फील्डर जॉन्टी रोड्स का जन्म हुआ।

1976 चीन के तंगशान में हुए विनाशकारी भूकंप में 2,40,000 लोग मारे गए।

1977 जानी मानी फिल्म अभिनेत्री, माॅडल रिंकी खन्ना का जन्म हुआ। यह पहले सुपर स्टार राजेश खन्ना और डिंपल कपाड़िया की बेटी हैं। इसी दिन जाने माने अमेरिकी राजनीति विज्ञानी और वैश्वीकरण के विष्लेषक पराग खन्ना का जन्म कानपुर में हुआ।

1982 प्रधानमंत्री श्रीमती इंदिरा गांधी अपने करीब 11 साल के कार्यकाल में पहली अमेरिकी यात्रा पर वाॅशिंगटन पहुंचीं जहां उनका स्वागत राष्ट्रपति रोनाल्ड रेगन और उनकी पत्नी नैंसी ने किया।

1983 जोधपुर में सुमीत व्यास का जन्म हुआ जो एक जाने माने भारतीय अभिनेता, फिल्म, वेब श्रृंखला तथा थिएटर पटकथाओं के लेखक हैं। टीवीएफ की श्रृंखला परमानेंट रूममेट्स में मिकेश चौधरी की भूमिका से उन्हें पहचान मिली। व्यास ने इंग्लिश विंग्लिश, पार्च्ड, गुड्डु की गन और वीरे दी वेडिंग जैसी बॉलीवुड फिल्मों में सहायक भूमिकाएँ निभाई हैं।

1987 खोजकर्ताओं ने टाइटेनिक का मलबा खोजा। इसी दिन विख्यात भारतीय पक्षी विज्ञानी सालिम अली का इंतकाल हुआ।

1990 काउंटी क्रिकेट में प्रसिद्ध क्रिकेटर टॉम मूडी ने 26 मिनट में 100 रन बनाकर विश्व रिकॉर्ड बनाया। इसी दिन 1990 में इस दौर की जानी मानी फिल्म अभिनेत्री और माॅडल कीर्ति सेनन का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ।

1991 जयपुर में रोमन सैनी का जन्म हुआ। रोमन भारत के सबसे तेज दिमाग व्यक्तियों में से एक हैं। रोमन सैनी 18 साल की उम्र में प्रतिष्ठित एम्स प्रवेश परीक्षा पास करने में सफल रहे। इसके बाद उन्होंने यूपीएससी परीक्षा पास की और 22 साल की उम्र में आईएएस अधिकारी बन गए।

1992 1970 के दशक की सर्वाधिक सफल, चर्चित, लोकप्रिय फिल्मों के प्रदर्शन के पिछले सभी कीर्तिमान ध्वस्त करने वाली जीपी सिप्पी, रमेश सिप्पी निर्मित फिल्म शोले के प्रमुख चरित्र गब्बर सिंह और हिंदी फिल्मों के प्रसिद्ध खलनायक अमजद खान का निधन हुआ।

1994 विख्यात भारतीय निशानेबाज जसपाल राणा ने विश्व शूटिंग चैंपियनशिप में स्वर्ण पदक जीता।

1993 एक माफिया गिरोह ने इटली की राजधानी रोम, मिलान और वेटिकन सिटी में ऐतिहासिक इमारतों पर बमबारी की। इसमें 5 लोगों की जान चली गई और अनेक घायल हुए। 1996 अमेरिका के जार्जिया प्रांत के अटलांटा शहर में आयोजित ओलंपिक खेलों के रंगारंग कार्यक्रम के दौरान बम धमाका।

1996 27 जुलाई 1896 को ओलिंपिक खेलों की शुरुआत हुई थी। इसके 100 साल बाद 1996 में ओलंपिक खेलों का आयोजन अमेरिका के अटलांटा में किया गया था। ओलिंपिक खेलों के 100 साल हो जाने पर इन खेलों को लेकर लोगों में खास उत्साह था। दुनियाभर के कई देशों से लाखों लोग ओलंपिक खेलों को देखने जुटे थे। 26 जुलाई को शुक्रवार था। वीकेंड होने की वजह से ओलिंपिक विलेज में ज्यादा भीड़ थी। 26 जुलाई के इवेंट खत्म होने के बाद देर रात (27 जुलाई) को एक कॉन्सर्ट में सभी लोग एंजॉय कर रहे थे। तभी वहां एक बम विस्फोट हुआ, जिसमें एक महिला की मौत हुई और 111 लोग घायल हुए। बम धमाके को कवर करने जा रहे एक पत्रकार की भी हार्ट अटैक से मौत हो गई। धमाका होने से पहले वहां मौजूद गार्ड रिचर्ज जेवेल ने एक संदिग्ध बैग देख लिया था। जेवेल को जब किसी अनहोनी की आशंका हुई तो उन्होंने आसपास मौजूद सभी लोगों को वहां से हटा दिया था। इससे धमाके से नुकसान कम हुआ। अगर जेवेल तत्परता नहीं दिखाते तो घायलों और मौतों का आंकड़ा ज्यादा हो सकता था। पुलिस ने बाद में जेवेल पर ही बम धमाके की साजिश में शामिल होने का आरोप लगाया। जांच में जेवेल निर्दोष पाए गए। फेडरल ब्यूरो आॅफ इन्वेस्टिगेशन ने एरिक रुडोल्फ नाम के एक आतंकवादी को गिरफ्तार किया। रुडोल्फ ने 1996-97 में हुए 4 बम धमाकों में शामिल होने का खुलासा किया। रुडोल्फ को आजीवन कारावास की सजा सुनाई गई।

2002 यूक्रेन में एक विमान दुर्घटना में 70 व्यक्ति मारे गये। इसी दिन भारत के उपराष्ट्रपति रहे कृष्णकान्त का निधन हुआ।

2003 अमेरिका ने यमन को स्कड मिसाइल बेचने वाली उत्तर कोरियाई कंपनी पर नये प्रतिबंध लगाये। इसी दिन अपने अंतिम समय में निमोनिया से पीड़ित अमरीका के बहुचर्चित हास्य कलाकार बॉब होप का निधन हुआ। वे 100 साल के थे।

2006 रूसी प्रक्षेपण यान नेपर जमीन पर गिरा। 2006 में इसी दिन इंटेल कॉर्प ने कोर 2 डॅयू माइक्रोप्रोसेसर पेश किया। इसी दिन प्रसिद्ध भारतीय कवि शिवदीन राम जोशी का देहांत हुआ।

2007 विख्यात अमेरिकी फिल्म और टेलीविजन अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल एलीविया एलिन लिंड का जन्म उत्तरी कैरोलिना, अमेरिका में हुआ। लिंड ने 2013 में फिल्म डार्क स्काईज से अपनी फीचर फिल्म अभिनय की शुरुआत की। 2011 से 2021 के बीच लिंड ने टेलीविजन डेटाइम सोप ओपेरा द यंग एंड द रेस्टलेस में फेथ न्यूमैन की भूमिका निभाई। टेलीविजन श्रृंखला रिवेंज में युवा अमांडा क्लार्क के साथ-साथ ट्रांसपेरेंट में ग्रेस के रूप में उनकी बार-बार भूमिकाएँ रही हैं। इसी दिन ऑस्ट्रेलिया के वैज्ञानिकों ने लगभग 40,000 साल पहले पाये जाने वाले विशालकाय जीव वोमबैट के जवड़े का जीवाश्म मिलने का दावा किया।

2008 सीपीएन-यूएमएल नेता सुभाष नेमवांग को नेपाली राष्ट्रपति रामबरन यादव ने नवर्निवाचित संविधान सभा के अध्यक्ष पद की शपथ दिलाई।

2011 अमेरिकी सरकार ने राष्ट्रीय संक्रमणकालीन परिषद को मान्यता दी। इसी दिन अमेरिकी सरकार ने लीबिया के नेता मुअम्मर गद्दाफी के प्रति वफादार राजनयिकों को निष्कासित किया।

2012 ग्रीष्मकालीन ओलंपिक का उद्घाटन ब्रिटेन की महारानी एलिजाबेथ द्वितीय ने शुक्रवार 27 जुलाई 2012 की शाम को ओलंपिक स्टेडियम, लंदन में किया। इसी दिन संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासचिव, बान की मून ने आग्रह किया कि देशों को अंतरराष्ट्रीय हथियारों की बिक्री को नियंत्रित करने के लिए एक समझौते पर पहुंचने के लिए मिलकर काम करना चाहिए। लेकिन आज तक कोई समझौता नहीं हुआ। 2012 में इसी दिन साल्वाटोर जे. कॉर्डिलेओन को सैन फ्रांसिस्को के नौवें महानगर आर्कबिशप के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया। नियुक्ति सर्वोच्च इसाई धर्मगुरु और वेटिकन सिटी प्रमुख पोप बेनेडिक्ट सोलहवें ने की।

2013 कुवैत में आम चुनाव के लिए मतदान हुआ। 2015 राष्ट्रपति रहे परमाणु वैज्ञानिक डॉ. अब्दुल कलाम का निधन हुआ। 2016 भारत के जानेमाने तबला वादक लच्छू महाराज का निधन हुआ।

2015 संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में जुलाई के चैथे गुरुवार को राष्ट्रीय जलपान दिवस मनाया गया। वर्ष के सबसे गर्म समय में मौज-मस्ती के लिए दिन में बर्फ, ठंडी ताजगी, विशेष रूप से अच्छी ठंडी बियर इत्यादि के साथ लोग एंजोय करते हैं।

2017 भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस के राजनीतिज्ञ और कर्नाटक के भूतपूर्व मुख्यमंत्री रहे एन. धरम सिंह का निधन हुआ।

2018 मुंबई शेयर बाजार 37 हजार 336 की नयी ऊंचाई पर बंद हुआ। नेशनल स्टाक एक्सचेंज का निफ्टी 11 हजार 278 की रिकार्ड उंचाई पर पहुंच गया। इसी दिन 2018 साउथ अफ्रीका के जोहानेसबर्ग में दसवें ब्रिक्स शिखर सम्मेलन का समापन हुआ।

Korean War Veterans Armistice Day - July 27

1953 A high-level armistice agreement was signed between South and North Korea. Under this, a resolution was taken to end the hostilities effectively. To commemorate this, Korean War Veterans Armistice Day is observed every year on July 27.

1960 Uddhav Thackeray, noted Indian politician, head of the political party Shiv Sena and 19th Chief Minister of Maharashtra, was born.

1962 Martin Luther King Jr., leader of the African-American civil rights struggle, is jailed in Albany, Georgia.

1963 Krishnan Nair was born Shantikumari Chitra in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Chitra is famous for singing Indian classical, devotional and popular music songs. He has given voice for songs in Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Oriya, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Barga, Sanskrit, Tulu, Urdu and Punjabi.

1967 Rahul Bose, noted film actor, screenwriter, director, and social activist, was born in Bangalore. Renowned film and television actor Asif Basra was born in Amravati.

1969 Jonty Rhodes, former South African Test cricketer and one of the most explosive fielders of all time, was born.

1976 The devastating earthquake in Tangshan, China killed 240,000 people.

1977 Rinke Khanna, noted film actress and model, was born. She is the daughter of former superstar Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia. On this day, famous American political scientist and analyst of globalization Parag Khanna was born in Kanpur.

1982 Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi arrives in Washington on her first visit to the US in nearly 11 years where she is received by President Ronald Reagan and his wife Nancy.

1983 - Sumeet Vyas (born in Jodhpur), noted Indian actor, writer of films, web series and theater scripts. He gained recognition with the role of Mikesh Chowdhary in the TVF series Permanent Roommates. Vyas has played supporting roles in Bollywood films such as English Vinglish, Parched, Guddu Ki Gun and Veere Di Wedding.

1987: Explorers discover the wreckage of the Titanic. On this day the famous Indian ornithologist Salim Ali died.

In 1990, the famous cricketer Tom Moody made a world record by scoring 100 runs in 26 minutes in county cricket. On this day in 1990, Kirti Sanon, a well-known film actress and model of this era, was born in Delhi.

1991 Roman Saini was born in Jaipur. Roman is one of the sharpest minded persons in India. Roman Saini succeeded in clearing the prestigious AIIMS entrance exam at the age of 18. After this he passed the UPSC exam and became an IAS officer at the age of 22.
