811 बुल्गारिया की सेना खान क्रुम के नेतृत्व में प्लिस्का के ब्रेटल में बीजेंटाइन सेना को हराया, लगभग पूरी सेना का सफाया कर बीजेंटाइन सम्राट नाइफोरोस प्रथम को भी मार दिया। बीजेंटाइन अब तुर्की है।

1509 विजयनगर साम्राज्य के नये सम्राट कृष्णदेवराय का राज्याभिषेक हुआ।

1614 मुगल शहंशाह अकबर के बेटे शहजादे सलीम यानी नूरुद्दीन मोहम्मद जहाँगीर ने मेवाड़ के राणा करन सिह का स्वागत किया। मालूम हो कि महाराणा प्रताप अकबर की आधीनता स्वीकार नहीं की थी। अकबर ने उन्हें तत्कालीन पांच हजारी ओहदा देने की पेशकश की थी। प्रताप के इनकार पर युद्ध हुआ जिसमें अकबर की ओर से सेनापति राजा मानसिंह और प्रताप की ओर से हकीम खान सूर ने युद्ध का नेतृत्व किया। प्रताप के सहयोगियों ने उन्हें युद्ध से दूर चले जाने को कहा। वे चले गये और लंबे समय तक छुप कर अपनी सेना को पुनः संगठित किया। बाद में अकबर के बेटे जहांगीर ने राणा प्रताप के पुत्र अमर सिंह को 10 हजारी का ओहदा पेश किया गया जिसे प्रताप के पुत्र ने स्वीकार कर लिया लेकिन अपनी जगह अपने बेटे करन सिंह को मुगल दरबार भेजा। इस तरह राणा राजवंश ने मुगलों की आधीनता स्वीकार कर ली।

1757 हस्टेनबेक लड़ाई में फ्रांस की सेना कंबरलैंड की सेना से हार गई।

1760 ऑस्ट्रिया की सेना ने फोर्ट ग्लैट्ज सिलेसिया पर नियंत्रण हासिल किया।

1826 लिथुआनिया में हुई यहूदी विरोधी हिंसा में सैकड़ों यहूदी मरे।

1844 प्रमुख भारतीय शिक्षाविद गुरुदास बनर्जी का जन्म हुआ।

1858 बैरोन लियोनेल डे रोथस्चल्ड ब्रिटिश संसद के लिए चुने जाने वाले पहले यहूदी हुए।

1876 कलकत्ता में इंडियन एसोसिएशन की स्थापना हुई।

1788 न्यूयॉर्क ने संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के संविधान से सहमति जताई और ग्यारहवां अमेरिकी राज्य बना।

1904 प्रसिद्ध भारतीय महिला स्वतंत्रता सेनानी तथा गाँधीवादी नेत्री मालती चौधरी का जन्म हुआ।

1908 अमेरिकी खुफिया एजेंसी फेडरल ब्यूरो आॅफ इंवेस्टिगेशन एफबीआई की स्थापना हुई।

1910 कर्नाटक के कोलार में प्रमुख दक्षिण भारतीय सिनेमाटोग्राफर बडागुरु कृष्णैया पंथुलू का जन्म हुआ।

1914 प्रसिद्ध भारतीय कवयित्रि विद्यावती कोकिल का जन्म हुआ।

1915 प्रसिद्ध दक्षिण भारतीय योगाचार्य कृष्ण पट्टाभि जोईस का जन्म तमिलनाडु के कोउशिका में हुआ। जोईस ने अष्टांग विन्यास योग शैली का विकास किया। 1948 में उन्होने मैसूर में अष्टांग योग अनुसंधान संस्थान की स्थापना जो कृष्ण पट्टाभि जोईस अष्टांग योग संस्थान के नाम से जाना जाता है।

1934 जाने माने भारतीय अमेरिकी अर्थशास्त्री जगदीश नटवरलाल भगवती का जन्म बंबई में हुआ।

1945 खूबसूरत, बोल्ड और लोकप्रिय ब्रिटिश-अमेरिकन फिल्म अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल डैम हेलेन मिरेन का जन्म लंदन में हुआ। इसी दिन लंदन में प्रधानमंत्री विंस्टन चर्चिल ने ब्रिटेन के आम चुनाव में हार के बाद इस्तीफा दिया। क्लिमेंट एटली नये प्रधानमंत्री चुने गये।

1951 नीदरलैंड ने जर्मनी के साथ युद्ध खत्म किया।

1953 फिदेल कास्त्रो के नाम से विश्व चर्चित महान समाजवादी क्रांतिकारी, प्रखर लेखक, वक्ता, संगठनकर्ता, कुशल प्रशासक, चिंतक फिदेल ऐलेजैंड्रो कास्त्रो रूज के नेतृत्व में क्यूबा की क्रांति शुरू हुई। कास्त्रो का कहना था कि क्रांति गुलाब का बिस्तर नहीं है, क्रांति भविष्य और अतीत के बीच का संघर्ष है। 

1956 तुर्की के राष्ट्रपति अब्देल नासेर ने स्वेज नहर का राष्ट्रीयकरण कर दिया। ये फैसला इजराइल और अरब देशों के बीच युद्ध की वजह बना।

1965 मालदीव ने ब्रिटेन की गुलामी से आजादी पाई।

1966 भारत के प्रसिद्ध विद्वान, विचारक वासुदेव शरण अग्रवाल का निधन हुआ।

1972 जाने माने अभिनेता, फिल्म कथाकार, निर्माता, निर्देशक और माॅडल जुगल हंसराज का जन्म हुआ।

1974 तमिल, तेलुगू, कन्नड़, मलयालम, हिंदी एवं बांग्ला आदि विविध भारतीय भाषाओं की खूबसूरत, बोल्ड, जानी मानी अभिनेत्री और माॅडल सुमन रंगनाथन का जन्म बंगलौर में हुआ और इसी दिन फ्रांस ने मुरूओरा द्वीप में परमाणु परीक्षण किया।

1978 जानी मानी भारतीय खूबसूरत, बोल्ड बांग्ला फिल्म और टेलीविजन अभिनेत्री री सेन या रितुपर्णा सेन का जन्म कलकत्ता में हुआ।

1979 पहली मोदी सरकार 2014 में मंत्री हुए भाजपा नेता गोपीनाथ मुंडे की बेटी भारतीय जनता पार्टी में महासचिव पंकजा मुंडे का जन्म हुआ।

1980 जाने माने अमेरिकी फिल्म अभिनेता और संगीतकार अलेक्स ओ नील का जन्म कनेक्टिकट, अमेरिका में हुआ।

1981 लोकप्रिय मलयालम फिल्म एवं टेलीविजन अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल अभिरामी यानी दिव्या गोपीकुमार का जन्म केरल के तिरुअनंतपुरम में हुआ।

1982 महज 12 वर्ष की आयु में फिल्म तहलका से 1992 में अभिनय शुरु करने वाली और फिर बनेगी अपनी बात धारावाहिक से टेलीविजन डेब्यू करने वाली खूबसूरत, बोल्ड, जानी मानी अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल फिरदौस दादी का जन्म का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन कुली फिल्म की शूटिंग के दौरान फिल्म अभिनेता अमिताभ बच्चन को चोट लगी।

1983 भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस के प्रसिद्ध राजनेता तथा संसदीय मामलों के मंत्री रहे सत्य नारायण सिन्हा का निधन हुआ।

1986 जानी मानी माॅडल और हिंदी मराठी फिल्म अभिनेत्री मुग्धा गोडसे का जन्म पुणे में हुआ।

1989 जानी मानी भारतीय टेलीविजन अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल दीपिका सिंह का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ।

1990 अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति जॉर्ज हर्बर्ट वाॅकर बुश ने अमेरिकंस डिसएबिलिटीज एक्ट नामक नागरिक अधिकार कानून पर हस्ताक्षर किए, जो कुछ परिस्थितियों में, विकलांगता के आधार पर भेदभाव पर प्रतिबंध लगाता है। इस दिन अमेरिका में राष्ट्रीय विकलांग दिवस मनाया जाता है।

1991 जानी मानी, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड बहुप्रतिभावान टेलीविजन अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल शिव्या पठानिया का जन्म शिमला में हुआ।

1993 दक्षिण कोरिया में बोइंग विमान दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हुआ इसमें 66 यात्री मारे गए।

1994 खूबसूरत, बोल्ड जानी मानी टेलीविजन और फिल्म अभिनेत्री, माॅडल एवं सामाजिक कार्यकत्री महिका शर्मा का जन्म सिरसा हरियाणा में हुआ और इसी दिन तुर्की वायु सेना द्वारा कुर्द इलाके में की गई बमबारी में 70 लोग मारे गए। 

1997 श्रीलंका ने एशिया क्रिकेट कप जीता और इसी दिन खमेर रूज के विद्रोही नेता पोलपोट को आजीवन कारावास की सजा सुनाई गई।

1998 अमेरिकी महिला एथलीट जैकी जाॅयनर कर्सी ने एथलेटिक्स से सन्यास लिया। इसी दिन भारत की एटीएंडटी और ब्रिटिश दूरसंचार कंपनी पीएलसी ने संयुक्त उपक्रम बनाने की घोषणा की।

1999 भारत ने करगिल के आखिरी चोटी पर भी कब्जा कर लिया।

2000 फिजी में निर्वाचित सरकार का तख्तापलट कर कब्जा करने वाले विद्रोही नेता जार्ज स्पीट को सेना ने गिरफ्तार किया।

2002 इंडोनेशिया की एक अदालत ने पूर्व राष्ट्रपति सुहातों के पुत्र को 15 वर्ष के कारावास की सजा सुनायी गई। इसी दिन 2002 को प्रथम छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य निशानेबाजी चैंपियनशिप प्रारम्भ हुई।

2004 ईरान के विदेश मंत्री कमल करजई ने भारतीय प्रधानमंत्री के साथ गैस पाइप लाइन के प्रस्ताव पर वार्ता की। 2004 में इसी दिन अर्जेन्टीना को हराकर फुटबाल का कोपा कप ब्राजील ने जीता।

2005 अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नासा के शटल डिस्कवरी का प्रक्षेपण हुआ। 2005 में इसी दिन मुंबई में अतिवृष्टि से जनजीवन ठप्प, एक हजार से ज्यादा लोगों की मौत।

2006 लेबनान में हुए इस्रायली हमले में चार संयुक्त राष्ट्र पर्यवेक्षक मारे गये।

2007 पाकिस्तान ने परमाणु शक्ति सम्पन्न क्रूज मिसाइल बाबर हत्फ-7 का सफल परीक्षण किया।

2008 यूरोपीय वैज्ञानिकों ने सौरमंडल के बाहर एक और नये ग्रह की खोज की। 2008 में इसी दिन गुजरात के अहमदाबाद शहर में 21 धमाके हुए। इस हादसे में 56 लोग मारे गए और 200 से ज्यादा जख्मी हुए।

2009 आतंकवादी इस्लामवादी संप्रदाय बोको हरम ने नाइजीरिया के एक पुलिस स्टेशन पर हमला किया, इससे कई राज्यों में हिंसा भड़क उठी और इसमें नाइजीरिया में 1,000 से अधिक लोग मारे गए।

2011 हेन्ड्रा वायरस का क्वींसलैंड, बीड्सर्ट के पास एक कुत्ते में पता चला। इसका विषाणु लोमड़ियों, घोड़ों या मनुष्यों के अलावा किसी अन्य चीज में पहले कभी नहीं पाया गया था।

2012 सीरिया की हिंसा में एक दिन में करीब 200 लोग मारे गए। इसी दिन उत्तर कोरिया में आए खानून तूफान से 88 लोग मारे गए तथा 60 हजार बेघर हुए। इसी दिन सीरिया में शुरु हुई हिंसा में एक दिन में करीब दो सौ लोग मारे गए। इसी दिन फ्रांस के राष्ट्रपति फ्रेंकोइस होलांदे ने आइवरी कोस्ट के राष्ट्र प्रमुख एलासेन औटारा के साथ आइवरी कोस्ट द्वारा किए गए ऋण में 4.7 बिलियन डॉलर माफ करने के लिए एक समझौते पर दस्तखत किये।

2013 पाकिस्तान के पराचिनार में हुए बम विस्फोट, 57 मरे।

2016 डेमोक्रेटिक पार्टी ने पूर्व राष्ट्रपति बिल क्लिंटन की पत्नी और ओबामा सरकार में मंत्री रही हिलेरी क्लिंटन (हिलेरी डायने रोडहम क्लिंटन) को अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति पद का उम्मीदवार बनाया। अमेरिका के इतिहास में ये पहली बार हुआ था जब किसी महिला को किसी बड़ी पार्टी ने राष्ट्रपति पद का उम्मीदवार बनाया।

2014 29 वर्षीय इतालवी साइकिल चालक विंसेंजो निबाली ने टूर डी फ्रांस जीता और वह 16 साल में इटली से पहला विजेता बना।

2018 वर्ष 2018 के रेमन मैग्सेसे पुरस्कार दो भारतीयों डॉ भरत वाटवाणी और सोनम वांगचुक को देने की घोषणा की गई। वाटवाणी प्रसिद्ध भारतीय मनोचिकित्सक हैं। भारत में हजारों मानसिक रूप से बीमार सड़क के गरीबों को बचाने और उन्हें उनके परिवारों के साथ फिर से मिलाने के लिए के लिए जाने जाते हैं। सोनम वांगचुक भारत के प्रसिद्ध अभियन्ता, नवाचारी और शिक्षाशास्त्री हैं। 1988 में स्थापित स्टूडेंट्स एजुकेशनल एंड कल्चरल मूवमेंट ऑफ लद्दाख के संस्थापक-निदेशक हैं।

811 The Bulgarian army led by Khan Krum defeats the Byzantine army at the Battle of Pliska, annihilating almost the entire army and killing the Byzantine emperor Nikephoros I. Byzantine is now Türkiye.

1509 Coronation of Krishnadevaraya, the new emperor of the Vijayanagara Empire.

1614 Prince Salim i.e. Nooruddin Mohammad Jahangir, son of Mughal Emperor Akbar, welcomed Rana Karan Singh of Mewar. It may be known that Maharana Pratap did not accept the subordination of Akbar. Akbar had offered him the then five thousand rank. On Pratap's refusal, a war took place in which the commander Raja Mansingh from Akbar's side and Hakim Khan Sur from Pratap's side led the war. Pratap's allies asked him to go away from the war. They went away and regrouped their army after hiding for a long time. Later, Akbar's son Jahangir offered the rank of 10 Hazari to Amar Singh, son of Rana Pratap, which was accepted by Pratap's son but instead sent his son Karan Singh to the Mughal court. In this way the Rana dynasty accepted the suzerainty of the Mughals.

1757 The French army is defeated by the Army of the Cumberland at the Battle of Hustenbeck.

1760 Austrian forces gain control of Fort Glatz, Silesia.

1826 Hundreds of Jews die in anti-Jewish violence in Lithuania.

1844 Gurudas Banerjee, prominent Indian educationist, was born.

1858 Baron Lionel de Rothschild becomes the first Jew elected to the British Parliament.

1876 The Indian Association was established in Calcutta.

1788 New York ratifies the United States Constitution and becomes the eleventh US state.

1904 Malti Chowdhary, famous Indian woman freedom fighter and Gandhian leader, was born.

1908 American intelligence agency Federal Bureau of Investigation FBI was established.

1910 Badaguru Krishnaiah Panthulu, prominent South Indian cinematographer, was born in Kolar, Karnataka.

1914 Vidyavati Kokil, famous Indian poetess, was born.

1915 Krishna Pattabhi Jois, famous South Indian yoga teacher, was born in Kaushika, Tamil Nadu. Jois developed the Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga style. In 1948, he established the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute in Mysore, which is known as the Krishna Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute.

1934 Jagdish Natwarlal Bhagwati, noted Indian American economist, was born in Bombay.

1945 Dame Helen Mirren, beautiful, bold and popular British-American film actress and model, was born in London. On the same day in London, Prime Minister Winston Churchill resigned following his defeat in the British general election. Clement Attlee was elected the new Prime Minister.

1951 Netherlands ends war with Germany.

In 1953, the Cuban Revolution began under the leadership of Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz, a world-famous great socialist revolutionary, intense writer, speaker, organiser, efficient administrator, thinker by the name of Fidel Castro. Castro used to say that revolution is not a bed of roses, revolution is a struggle between the future and the past.

1956 Turkish President Abdel Nasser nationalized the Suez Canal. This decision became the reason for the war between Israel and Arab countries.

1965 Maldives got freedom from British slavery.

1966 India's renowned scholar, thinker Vasudev Sharan Agarwal passed away.

1972: Jugal Hansraj, noted actor, film writer, producer, director, and model, was born.

1974 Suman Ranganathan, a beautiful, bold, well-known actress and model in various Indian languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi and Bengali, was born in Bangalore and on this day France conducted a nuclear test in Muroora island.

1978 Ri Sen or Rituparna Sen, well-known Indian beautiful, bold Bengali film and television actress, was born in Calcutta.

1979 BJP leader Gopinath Munde's daughter, who became a minister in the first Modi government in 2014, was born Pankaja Munde, general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

1980 Alex O'Neill, noted American film actor and musician, was born in Connecticut, USA.

1981 Popular Malayalam film and television actress and model Abhirami aka Divya Gopikumar was born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

1982: Firdous Dadi, a beautiful, bold, well-known actress and model, who started acting in 1992 with the film Tehelka at the age of 12 and made her television debut with the serial Phir Banegi Apni Baat, was born. On the same day, during the shooting of the film Coolie, film actor Amitabh Bachchan got hurt.

1983 Satya Narayan Sinha, Indian National Congress politician and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, passed away.

1986 Mugdha Godse, well-known model and Hindi-Marathi film actress, was born in Pune.

1989 Deepika Singh, well-known Indian television actress and model, was born in Delhi.

1990 US President George Herbert Walker Bush signs civil rights legislation called the Americans with Disabilities Act, which bans discrimination on the basis of disability, under certain circumstances. On this day National Handicapped Day is celebrated in America.

1991 Shivya Pathania, well-known, beautiful, bold multi-talented television actress and model, was born in Shimla.

1993 Boeing plane crashes in South Korea, killing 66 passengers.

1994 Beautiful, bold well known television and film actress, model and social activist Mahika Sharma was born in Sirsa Haryana and on this day 70 people were killed in the bombing of Kurdish area by Turkish Air Force.

1997 Sri Lanka won the Asia Cricket Cup and on this day Khmer Rouge rebel leader Polpot was sentenced to life imprisonment.

1998 American female athlete Jackie Joyner-Kersee retired from athletics. On the same day, India's AT&T and British telecommunications company plc announced the formation of a joint venture.

1999 India also captured the last peak of Kargil.

In 2000, the military arrested George Speight, the rebel leader who overthrew the elected government in Fiji.

2002 An Indonesian court sentenced the son of former President Suhatto to 15 years in prison. On this day in 2002, the first Chhattisgarh State Shooting Championship started.

2004 Iran's Foreign Minister Kamal Karzai talks with Indian Prime Minister on gas pipeline proposal. On this day in 2004, Brazil won the Copa Cup of football by defeating Argentina.

2005: Shuttle Discovery of the US space agency NASA is launched. On this day in 2005, life came to a standstill due to heavy rains in Mumbai, more than one thousand people died.

2006 Four UN observers were killed in an Israeli attack in Lebanon.

2007 Pakistan successfully test-fired nuclear-powered cruise missile Babur Hatf-7.

2008 European scientists discovered another new planet outside the solar system. On this day in 2008, 21 blasts took place in Ahmedabad city of Gujarat. 56 people were killed and more than 200 were injured in this accident.

2009 Militant Islamist sect Boko Haram attacks a police station in Nigeria, sparking violence in several states and killing more than 1,000 people in Nigeria.

2011 Hendra virus detected in a dog near Bedsert, Queensland. The virus had never been found before in anything other than foxes, horses or humans.

Nearly 200 people were killed in a single day in the 2012 Syrian violence. On the same day, 88 people were killed and 60,000 left homeless due to the Khanoon storm that hit North Korea. About two hundred people were killed in a single day in the violence that started in Syria on the same day. On the same day, French President Francois Hollande signed an agreement with Ivory Coast's head of state, Alassane Ouattara, to forgive $4.7 billion in debt owed by Ivory Coast.

2013 Bomb blasts in Parachinar, Pakistan, 57 dead.
