आपको राष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस एवं होली की हार्दिक बधाई ! महिलाओं की स्थिति दुनिया भर में आदिकाल से खराब रही। सत्रहवीं, अठारहवीं, उन्नीसवीं और बीसवीं सदियों में जिन-जिन देशों में जनतंत्र आया, वहां भी महिलाओं को अधिकारों के लिए लंबी लड़ाई लड़नी पड़ी। आज भी महिलाएं कोई बहुत ज्यादा बेहतर स्थिति में नहीं हैं। आज भी घर से लेकर कार्यस्थल तक तरह-तरह के भेदभाव, कम वेतन/पारिश्रमिक की स्थित है। खैर... 1908 में एक महिला मजदूर आंदोलन की वजह से महिला दिवस मनाने की परंपरा की शुरूआत हुई। इस दिन 15 हजार महिलाओं ने नौकरी के घंटे कम करने, बेहतर वेतन और कुछ अन्य अधिकारों की मांग को लेकर अमेरिका के सबसे बड़े वाणिज्यिक नगर न्यूयार्क शहर में प्रदर्शन किया था। एक साल बाद सोशलिस्ट पार्टी ऑफ अमेरिका ने इस दिन को पहला राष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस घोषित किया। प्रसिद्ध जर्मन मार्क्सवादी सिद्धांतकार और महिला अधिकार कार्यकत्री क्लारा जेटकिन के जोरदार प्रयासों के कारण इंटरनेशनल सोशलिस्ट कांग्रेस ने साल 1910 में महिला दिवस के अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्वरूप और इस दिन पब्लिक हॉलीडे को सहमति दी। 1910 में डेनमार्क की राजधानी कोपेनहेगन में कामकाजी महिलाओं का एक अन्तरराष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन हुआ, जिसमें इस दिन को अन्तरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस के तौर पर मनाने का सुझाव दिया गया और धीरे-धीरे यह दिन दुनिया भर में अन्तरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस के रूप में लोकप्रिय होने लगा। इस दिन को अन्तरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस के रूप में मान्यता 1975 में मिली, जब संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने इसे एक थीम के साथ मनाने की शुरूआत की।

1535 मेवाड़ (राजस्थान) की रानी रानी कर्णावती का निधन हुआ।

1618 विख्यात जर्मन खगोलशास्त्री और गणितज्ञ जोहान्स केपलर ने ग्रहों की गति के तीसरे नियम के खोज की जानकारी दी।

1702 इंग्लैंड के राजा विलियम तृतीय की मृत्यु के बाद महारानी ऐनी ने सत्ता संभाली।

1706 कैटालोनिया की रियासत ने अपना लघु संसद बनाया जिसकी स्पेन के राजा कार्लोस तृतीय द्वारा अध्यक्षता की गयी।

1864 प्रसिद्ध मराठी लेखक हरी नारायण आप्टे का जन्म हुआ।

1884 निरंजन नाथ हुक्कू और कैलास हुक्कू की बेटी स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता और स्त्री अधिकारों की प्रबल समर्थक उमा नेहरू का जन्म आगरा में हुआ।

1889 स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, ब्रिटिश शासन में उड़ीसा प्रांत के शासन प्रमुख, भारत की संविधान सभा के सदस्य और उड़ीसा के मुख्यमंत्री हुए बिश्वनाथ दास का जन्म बेलागान, उड़ीसा में हुआ। इसी दिन गांधी स्मारक निधि के प्रथम अध्यक्ष, गाँधीवादी नेता, स्वतंत्रता सेनानी और पंजाब के प्रथम मुख्यमंत्री गोपी चन्द भार्गव का सरसा, भिवानी, हरियाणा में जन्म हुआ।

1907 ब्रिटिश हाउस ऑफ कॉमन्स ने महिलाओं के मताधिकार से संबंधित विधेयक को ठुकरा दिया।

1908 काम के लिए बेहतर वेतन, कम घंटे और वोट देने का अधिकार को लेकर न्यूयॉर्क में कई महिलाओं ने एक रैली निकाली।

1909 अमेरिकी सोशलिस्ट पार्टी ने पहली बार राष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस मनाया।



1910 जाने माने भारतीय अंग्रेजी लेखक, प्रसिद्ध शिकारी एवं वन, जंगल विषयक मामलों के जानकार लेखक केनेथ डगलस स्टीवर्ट एंडरसन का जन्म कर्नाटक के बोलारम, सिकंदराबाद में हुआ। इसी दिन डेनमार्क की राजधानी कोपनहेगेन में हुए महिलाओं के अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन में 08 मार्च को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस तय करने का प्रस्ताव रखा।

1911 यूरोप में पहली बार अंतरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस मनाया गया।



1921 साहिर लुधियानवी के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हिंदी, उर्दू शायर और फिल्मी गीतकार पद्मश्री सम्मान पाने वाले अब्दुल हयी का लुधियाना में जन्म हुआ। 1921 स्पेन की राजधानी मैड्रिड में पार्लियामेंट से बाहर निकलते वक्त राष्ट्रपति एडवर्डो दातो की हत्या कर दी गई।

1930 महात्मा गांधी ने सविनय अवज्ञा आंदोलन शुरू किया।

1935 केरल के जाने माने राजनेता, विधायक, मंत्री रहे केरल कांग्रेस पार्टी के नेता केझूट रामन बालाकृष्णन पिल्लई का जन्म वालाकोम केरल में हुआ।

1942 द्वितीय विश्व शुद्ध के दौरान जापानी सेना ने वर्मा के रंगून पर कब्जा किया।

1947 प्रसिद्ध अमेरिकी फिल्म अभिनेत्री, गायिका, संगीतज्ञ, गीतकार और चित्रकार कैरोल बायर सेगर का जन्म न्यू याॅर्क में हुआ।

1948 एअर इंडिया इंटरनेशनल की स्थापना हुई।

1949 अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी सरकार में मंत्री रहे भाजपा नेता दिलीप सिंह जूदेव का जन्म जसपुर, छत्तीसगढ़ में हुआ। भ्रष्टाचार के एक स्टिंग आपरेशन में जूदेव यह कहते देखे गये कि खुदा की कसम पैसा खुदा तो नहीं लेकिन खुदा से कम भी नहीं है।

1950 भारत के बड़े रईस, रियल स्टेट कारोबारी, हीरानंदानी कारोबारी समूह के प्रमुख निरंजन हीरानंदानी का जन्म बंबई में हुआ।

1953 ग्वालियर राजघराने की राजकुमारी और राजस्थान की पहली महिला मुख्यमंत्री हुई भाजपा नेत्री वसुंधरा राजे सिंधिया का जन्म हुआ।

1954 भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस के राजनीतिज्ञ गोवा के मुख्यमंत्री रहे दिगंबर कामत का जन्म हुआ।

1955 भारत के दिग्गज और विश्व के दस सर्वश्रेष्ठ वॉलीबॉल खिलाड़ियों में से एक जिम्मी जॉर्ज का जन्म हुआ।

1957 बिहार के जाने माने राजनेता और राष्ट्रीय जनता दल के लोकसभा सदस्य कांति सिंह का जन्म रोहतास में हुआ।

1964 कनाडा सरकार में केंद्रीय मंत्री और एडमोंटन शहर के मेयर हुए अमरजीत सोही का जन्म पंजाब के संगरूर में हुआ।

1965 महाराष्ट्र में भारतीय जनता पार्टी नेता और विधायक अतुल भटखालकर का जन्म बंबई में हुआ।

1971 अमेरिका के मुक्केबाज जो फ्रेजियर ने पूर्व चैंपियन मोहम्मद अली को हराकर विश्व हेवीवेट खिताब दोबारा अपने नाम किया।

1977 हिन्दी और उर्दू के यशस्वी कहानीकार कृश्न चन्दर का निधन हुआ।

1979 फिलिप्स ने पहली बार सीडी यानी कॉम्पैक्ट डिस्क को सार्वजनिक किया।

1985 लेबनान की राजधानी बेरूत में नमाज के वक्त एक मस्जिद के नजदीक एक कार बम धमाके में 80 लोगों की मौत हुई और 175 से ज्यादा घायल हुए। 1985 इसी दिन भारत की जानीमानी लेखिका रश्मि बंसल का जन्म हुआ।



1989 जानी मानी भारतीय महिला क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी हरमनप्रीत कौर का जन्म हुआ।

2001 इजरायल में एरियल शेरोन के नेतृत्व में राष्ट्रीय एकता सरकार ने शपथ ली।

2003 माल्टा ने एक जनमत संग्रह में यूरोपीय संघ में शामिल होने के लिए मंजूरी दी।

2004 इराक के गवर्निंग काउंसिल द्वारा एक नए संविधान पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए।

2006 रूस ने ईरान मामले पर अपना प्रस्ताव वापस लिया।

2008 मुंबई शेयर बाजार ने सूचीबद्धता से संबंधित प्रावधानों को पूरा नहीं करने के कारण दस कंपनियों के शेयरों में कारोबार निलंबित कर दिया। फिल्म फेयर ऑफ फुटपाथ ने मिस्र के काहिरा इंटरनेशनल फेस्टीवल फॉर चिल्ड्रेन में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व किया।

2009 भारत के अग्रणी गोल्फ खिलाड़ी ज्योति रंधावा यानी ज्योतिंद्र सिंह ने थाइलैंड ओपन खिताब जीता। फिल्म अभिनेत्री और माॅडल चित्रांगदा सिंह से इन्होंने विवाह किया है।

2010 फ्रांस की नौसेना ने सोमालिया के तट पर 35 संदिग्ध समुद्री डाकू पकड़े। समुद्री डाकुओं के विरुद्ध यह यूरोपीय संघ का सबसे सफल मिशन था।

2013 उत्तर कोरिया ने दक्षिण कोरिया के साथ सभी शांति समझौतों को समाप्त घोषित किया। इसी दिन वेनेजुएला के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति ह्यूगो शावेज का निधन हुआ और उपराष्ट्रपति निकोलस मादुरो अंतरिम राष्ट्रपति बने।

2014 क्वालालंपुर से बीजिंग जाते हुए मलेशिया एयरलाइंस का एक विमान लापता हो गया, जो लाख कोशिशों के बावजूद मिल नहीं पाया। विमान में 227 यात्री और चालक दल के 12 सदस्य सवार थे। इसे खोजने के प्रयास 2017 में बंद कर दिए गए।

2015 प्रसिद्ध समाचार पत्रिका आउटलुक के संस्थापक एवं प्रसिद्ध पत्रकार विनोद मेहता का निधन हुआ।

2018 भारत के उच्चतम न्यायालय ने सशर्त इच्छा-मृत्यु की अनुमति दी। इसी दिन नेफियू रियो ने भारतीय राज्य नागालैंड के 9वें मुख्यमन्त्री के रूप में शपथ ली।

2020 कोरोना वायरस फैलना शुरु हुआ। इस समय तक दिल्ली और कई जगह लोग मास्क का प्रयोग कर रहे थे। केंद्र की मोदी सरकार मध्य प्रदेश की कांग्रेस सरकार को गिराने के प्रयत्नों में लगी थी। विश्वभर में मामलों की संख्या 1,05,800 तक पहुंची। 95 देशों तक पहुंचा वायरस। अकेले चीन में इसके 80,695 मामले। भारत में संक्रमितों की संख्या 39 पर पहुंची। केरल में पांच संक्रमित मिले।

In the countries where democracy came in the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, women had to fight a long battle for their rights. Even today women are not in a much better position. Well... the tradition of celebrating Women's Day started in 1908 because of a women's labor movement. On this day, 15,000 women demonstrated in New York City, America's largest commercial city, demanding shorter working hours, better wages and some other rights. A year later, the Socialist Party of America declared this day the first National Women's Day. Due to the vigorous efforts of the famous German Marxist theorist and women's rights activist Clara Zetkin, the International Socialist Congress agreed to the international form of Women's Day in the year 1910 and the public holiday on this day. In 1910, an international conference of working women was held in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, in which it was suggested to celebrate this day as International Women's Day and gradually this day became popular worldwide as International Women's Day. This day was recognized as International Women's Day in 1975, when the United Nations started celebrating it with a theme.

1973 Satyatma Tirtha was born. He is an Indian Hindu philosopher, guru, scholar, spiritual leader, saint and the current Peethadhipati of Uttaradi Math. He is the 42nd Peethadhipati of Uttaradi Math, after Madhvacharya, which is dedicated to propounding Dvaita Vedanta. He is the founder of Vishwa Madhav Maha Parishad.

1974 Famous Bollywood film actor, model Fardeen Khan, son of influential Bollywood actor-filmmaker Feroze Khan, was born in Bombay.

1975 The United States proclaimed International Women's Day.

1977 Krishna Chander, famous Hindi and Urdu story writer, passed away.

1979 Philips made the first CD, or compact disc, public.

1985 A car bomb explodes near a mosque during prayers in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, killing 80 people and injuring more than 175. 1985 On this day Rashmi Bansal, India's well-known writer, was born.

1989 Harmanpreet Kaur, noted Indian woman cricketer, was born.

In 2001, a government of national unity was sworn in under the leadership of Ariel Sharon in Israel.

2009 India's leading golfer Jyoti Randhawa aka Jyotindra Singh won the Thailand Open title. He is married to film actress and model Chitrangada Singh.

2010 French Navy captures 35 suspected pirates off the coast of Somalia. This was the most successful EU mission against piracy.

2013 North Korea declares all peace agreements with South Korea to be over. On the same day, former Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez died and Vice President Nicolás Maduro became the interim President.

2014 A Malaysia Airlines plane went missing while going from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, which could not be found despite millions of efforts. There were 227 passengers and 12 crew members on board the aircraft. Efforts to find it were called off in 2017.
