1572 मेवाड़ के शासक और महाराणा प्रताप के पिता राणा उदयसिंह का निधन हुआ।

1580 गोवा से पहला ईसाई मिशनरी मुगल शासक अकबर के फतेहपुर सीकरी स्थित दरबार फतेहपुर में पहुंचा।

1728 पालखेड की लड़ाई में मराठा पेशवा बाजीराव प्रथ्म ने दक्कन के मुगल गवर्नर, कमर-उद-दीन खान, आसिफ याह, निजाम-उल-मुल्क को पराजित किया।

1749 हेनरी फिल्डिंग्स के पहले संस्करण टॉम जोन्स का प्रकाशन किया गया।

1759 पोप क्लेमेंट बारहवें ने बाइबल को विभिन्न भाषाओं में अनुवाद करने की इजाजत दी।

1767 थकसिन थाईलैंड के राजा बने तथा उन्होंने थोनबुरी को अपनी राजधानी बनाया।

1913 हिंदी के प्रसिद्ध कवि, लेखक एवं सम्पादक पंडित नरेंद्र शर्मा का जन्म हुआ।

1919 अमानुल्ला खान अफगानिस्तान के बादशाह बने।

1922 मिस्र को ब्रिटेन से पुनः स्वतंत्रता प्राप्त हुई।

1927 भारत के जाने माने कांग्रेस नेता और उपराष्ट्रपति रहे कृष्ण कांत का जन्म कोट मोहम्मद खान, पंजाब में हुआ।

1928 विख्यात भारतीय वैज्ञानिक चंद्रशेखर वेंकट रमन ने रमन प्रभाव का पता लगाया। जिसके लिए उन्हें नोबेल पुरुस्कार दिया गया और इसी दिन को हर साल राष्ट्रीय विज्ञान दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता हैं।

1936 स्वतंत्रता सेनानी और बाद में भारत के पहले प्रधानमंत्री हुए जवाहर लाल नेहरु की पत्नी कमला नेहरु का स्विटजरलैंड में निधन हुआ।

1942 दूसरे विश्व युद्ध के दौरान जापान की सेना ने जावा द्वीप पर कब्जा किया। यह द्वीप 1945 तक जापान के कब्जे में रहा।

1943 कोलकाता का हावड़ा पुल (रविन्द्र सेतु) शुरू हुआ।

1944 प्रसिद्ध संगीतकार और गायक रवीन्द्र जैन का जन्म उत्तर प्रदेश के अलीगढ़ में हुआ। रामानंद सागर के सीरियल रामायण के अलावा सहित चोर मचाए शोर, गीत गाता चल, चितचोर और अंखियों के झरोखे से जैसी तमाम लोकप्रिय फिल्मों में रवींद्र जैन ने संगीत दिया।

1947 मध्यप्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री हुए और वर्तमान में भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता, राज्यसभा सांसद दिग्विजय सिंह का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन प्रमुख कांग्रेस नेता हेमवती नंदन बहुगुणा के पुत्र कांग्रेस नेता, लोकसभा सदस्य और उत्तराखंड के मुख्यमंत्री रहे विजय बहुगुणा का जन्म इलाहाबाद में हुआ।

1948 भारत की आजादी के तकरीबन छह माह बाद ब्रिटिश सेना की अंतिम टुकड़ी स्वदेश ब्रिटेन लौट गई।

1950 द पीक डिस्ट्रिक्ट ब्रिटेन का पहला राष्ट्रीय पार्क बना।

1953 जेम्स डी वॉटसन और फ्रांसिस क्रिक ने डीएनए के केमिकल स्ट्रक्चर की खोज की। इस खोज के लिए उन्हें सन 1962 में नोबेल पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया।

1959 खूबसूरत, बोल्ड लोकप्रिय कन्नड़ फिल्म अभिनेत्री, माॅडल, सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता और कर्नाटक सरकार में महिला एवं बाल विकास मंत्री रहीं कांग्रेस राजनेत्री Jayamala का दक्षिण कन्नड़ मेंजन्म  हुआ।

1968 1980 और 90 की जानी मानी खूबसूरत, बोल्ड बाॅलीवुड हिंदी, मराठी फिल्म अभिनेत्री, गायिका एवं माॅडल वर्षा उस्गांवकर का जन्म उस्गांव, गोवा में हुआ। इसी दिन मुंबई में हुसैन जैदी का जन्म हुआ। वे खोजी पत्रकार, लेखक, पुस्तक प्रकाशक हैं और बंबई के माफियाओं पर उन्होंने काफी लिखा है। आपराधिक मामलों के वे भारत के प्रमुख विशेषज्ञ लेखक हैं और ब्लू साल्ट इंप्रिंट प्रकाशन कंपनी चलाते हैं।

1972 दिल्ली में भारतीय जनता पार्टी के सिख नेता, विधायक रहे मनजिंदर सिंह सिरसा का जन्म सिरसा हरियाणा में हुआ।

1974 खूबसूरत, बोल्ड, लोकप्रिय ब्रिटिश फिल्म अभिनेत्री, माॅडल सर आर्थर कानन डायल के उपन्यासों पर बनी बीबीसी सीरीज इत्यादि में शानदार अभिनय के लिए सुविख्यात अमांडा अब्बिंगटन का जन्म उत्तरी लंदन में हुआ।

1975 अमेरिका ने नेवादा परीक्षण स्थल से परमाणु परीक्षण किया.

1980 जानी मानी खूबसूरत, बोल्ड माॅडल, भरतनाट्यम नृत्यांगना और लोकप्रिय तेलुगू फिल्म अभिनेत्री पद्मप्रिया जानकीरमन का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ।

1985 जाने माने भारतीय फुटबाॅलर बलवंत सिंह का जन्म होशियारपुर, पंजाब में हुआ।

1986 स्वीडन के प्रधानमंत्री ओलोफ पाल्मे की हत्या हुई। हमले के वक्त ओलोफ अपनी पत्नी लिस्बेथ पाल्मे के साथ फिल्म देखकर घर लौट रहे थे तब एक बंदूकधारी ने उन्हें ताबड़-तोड़ गोलियां मार दीं।

1987 आॅल इंडिया बकचोद हास्य एवं आलोचना कंपनी के प्रमुख सदस्य, भारत के जाने माने स्टेंडअप काॅमेडियन, टेलीविजन शो प्रस्तोता और यूट्यूबर अवीश मैथ्यू का जन्म नौएडा में हुआ। इसी दिन आंध्र प्रदेश में दक्षिण भारतीय अभिनेत्री, भारतीय शास्त्रीय नृत्यांगना सुदीपा पिंकी का जन्म हुआ।

1987 खूबसूरत, बोल्ड जानी मानी भारतीय, ब्रिटिश माॅडल और टेलीविजन तथा फिल्म अभिनेत्री हेजेल कीच का जन्म एसेक्स, लंदन में हुआ। इन्होंने प्रसिद्ध भारतीय क्रिकेटर युवराज सिंह से विवाह किया है।

1997 18 वर्ष से कम उम्र के धूम्रपान करने वालों को अमेरिका में सिगरेट बेचने पर प्रतिबंध लगाया गया।

1999 ब्रिटेन के एंडी एल्सन एवं कोलीन प्रेसकोट ने 233 घंटे 55 मिनट तक गुब्बारे की मदद से आकाश में रहने का विश्व रिकार्ड बनाया।

2002 यूरोपीए देशों यानी यूरो जोन के देशों में उनकी अपनी राष्ट्रीय मुद्रा के चलन का अंतिम दिन था 28 फरवरी। अगले दिन यानी एक मार्च से सभी देशों की मुद्रा यूरो हो गई।

2003 संयुक्त राष्ट्र के मुख्य हथियार निरीक्षक हेंस ब्लिक ने कहा कि इस बात का कोई सबूत नहीं है कि इराक के पास सामूहिक विनाश के कोई हथियार थे। जबकि यह आरोप लगाकर अमेरिका और ब्रिटेन ने इराक को तबाह कर दिया। इसी दिन 2003 में नामीबिया के राष्ट्रपति सैम नुजोमा भारत की चार दिवसीय राजकीय यात्रा पर नई दिल्ली पहुँचे, भारत की स्थायी सदस्यता वाला विधेयक अमेरिकी संसद में पेश।

2005 पुर्तगाल के सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने मुंबई बम विस्फोट के आरोपी अबू सलेम के प्रत्यर्पण की इजाजत दी। 2005 में इसी दिन मिलियन डालर बेबी फिल्म को को चार आस्कर पुरस्कार मिले।

2008 वित्तमंत्री पी. चिदम्बरम ने आर्थिक समीक्षा संसद में पेश की। इसी दिन उत्तर प्रदेश के राज्यपाल टी.पी. राजेश्वर ने वस्तु एवं सेवाकर वैट विथेयक की अपनी मंजूरी दी। इसी दिन नेपाल में सरकार और संयुक्त मधेशी लोकतांत्रिक मोर्चा के बीच शांति समझौता हुआ।

2011 टॉम हूपर की फिल्म द किंग्स स्पीच को हॉलीवुड कोडैक थियेटर में आयोजित ऑस्कर समारोह में सर्वश्रेष्ठ चलचित्र का पुरस्कार दिया गया। इसी दिन 2011 में प्रथम विश्व युद्ध के अंतिम जीवित व्यक्ति फ्रेंक बकल्स का 110 साल की उम्र में चार्ल्स टाउन, वेस्ट वर्जीनिया, अमेरिका में निधन हुआ।

2012 अमेरिकी कंप्यूटर निर्माता कंपनी आईबीएम ने घोषणा की कि वह दुनिया का पहला क्वांटम कंप्यूटर बनाने के करीब है।

2013 पोप बेनेडिक्ट 16 ने इस्तीफा दिया। करीब 600 साल में यह पहला मौका था जब पोप ने अपना पद खुद छोड़ा। उसके बाद अर्जेंटीना के जाॅर्ज मारियो बरगोग्लियो पोप चुने गये। इस समय वही पोप फ्रांसिस कहे जाते हैं।

2018 हिंदुओं के सर्वोच्च धर्मगुरु कांची कामकोटि पीठ के प्रमुख और शंकराचार्य जयेंद्र सरस्वती का 2018 निधन हुआ। इससे पहले वे एक हत्या के आरोप में एक साल से अधिक जेल में रहे।

2020 कोरोना वायरस से दुनियाभर में 83,000 से अधिक लोग संक्रमित पाए गए।
