1304 अरब यात्री, इतिहासकार, चिंतक और लेखक अबु अब्दुल्लाह मोहम्मद इब्न बतूता का मोरक्को के तंजीर में जन्म हुआ। इन्होंने 75000 किलोमीटर की भारत यात्रा की और मोहम्मद बिन तुगलक के शासन काल में 1433 में भारत आए।

1670 मराठा शासक छत्रपति शिवाजी के छोटे बेटे और 1689 में राजा बने राजाराम प्रथम यानी राजाराम राजे भोंसले का जन्म राजगढ़ किले में हुआ।

1708 प्रिंस जोहान विलियम फ्रिसो ने ग्रोनिंगन के वायसराय के रूप में शपथ ली।

1711 जॉर्ज फ्रेडरिक हैंडल के ओपेरा रिनाल्डो (इतालवी भाषा का गीत) लंदन में हे मार्केट थियेटर में प्रीमियर शुरू हुआ।

1739 करनाल (हरियाणा, भारत) में हुए युद्ध में फारसी तुर्क सुल्तान नादिरशाह ने मुगल बादशाह आलम की सेना को हराया।

1924 अपनी गायिकी के लिए लोक्िरप्रय भारतीय गजल तथा फिल्मी गीत गायक, गजल का राजा कहे गये और अभिनेता तलत महमूद का जन्म हुआ। भारतीय डाक विभाग ने इनकी याद में 2016 में पांच रुपये मूल्य का टिकट जारी किया। इसी दिन 1924 में महात्मा गांधी को जेल से रिहा किया गया। 1924 में इसी दिन यूनान की संसद में देश के गणतंत्र होने की घोषणा की गई। 

1927 हिंदी फिल्मों तथा भारतीय टेलीविजन की प्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री कामिनी कौशल का जन्म लाहौर में हुआ। उनकी नीचा नगर और बिराज बहू जैसी तमाम फिल्में बेहद मशहूर हुईं। 1946 में उन्हें कांस फिल्मोत्सव में फ्रांस का पुरस्कार पामे डी’ओर मिला।

1931 विख्यात बांग्ला फिल्म अभिनेता तरुण कुमार चटर्जी का जन्म कलकत्ता में हुआ।

1938 डु पोंट ने नायलॉन टूथब्रश का व्यावसायिक उत्पादन शुरू किया।

1939 हिंदी फिल्मों के मशहूर अभिनेता और निर्माता तथा निर्देशक जॉय मुखर्जी का जन्म हुआ।

1942 अमेरिकी सरकारी अंतरराष्ट्रीय रेडियो प्रसारण सेवा वॉयस ऑफ अमेरिका की शुरुआत हुई। कलकत्ता में गायत्री चक्रवर्ती स्पीवाक का जन्म हुआ। वे विख्यात भारतीय - अमेरिकी साहित्यिक विचारक, दार्शनिक, कोलंबिया विश्वविद्यालय अमेरिका में प्रोफेसर, तुलनात्मक साहित्य और समाज संस्थान की संस्थापक सदस्य है। वर्ष 2012 मे उन्हे कला और दर्शनशास्र में क्योटो पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया। इसके अतिरिक्त उन्हें भारत का पद्मभूषण और दुनिया के अन्य कई प्रतिष्ठित सम्मान, पुरस्कार मिले हैं।

1945 मिस्र और सीरिया ने तानाशाह एडोल्फ हिटलर शासित नाजी-जर्मनी के खिलाफ युद्ध की घोषणा की।

1946 मशहूर ब्रिटिश फिल्म निर्देशक और पटकथा लेखक माइकल जेम्स रेडफोर्ड का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ। इसी दिन जुआन पेरेन अर्जेंटीना के राष्ट्रपति चुने गए।

1948 प्रख्यात दक्षिण भारतीय फिल्म अभिनेत्री और बाद में राजनेता तथा तमिलनाडु की मुख्यमंत्री रहीं जयराम जयललिता का जन्म हुआ।

1949 इजरायल और मिस्र ने एक युद्धविराम समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए।

1976 अर्जेन्टीना में सेना प्रमुखों ने बलात् सत्ता ग्रहण किया, राष्ट्रपति श्रीमती पैरों को गिरफ्तार करके संसद भंग की। इसी दिन क्यूबा ने अपना नया संविधान अंगीकृत किया।

1979 उत्तर और दक्षिण यमन के बीच युद्ध शुरू।

1983 जाने माने कनाडाई, अमेरिकी फिल्म अभिनेता, माॅडल और पब्लिक स्पीकर चेतन अहिम्सा या चेतन कुमार का जन्म शिकागो अमेरिका में हुआ।

1984 तेलुगू फिल्मों के मशहूर अभिनेता, फिल्म निर्माता, टेलीविजन शो प्रस्तोता घंटा नवीन बाबू यानी नानी का जन्म हैदराबाद में हुआ। इसी दिन इराक ने ईरान पर हवाई हमले शुरू किये।

1985 विख्यात संगीतज्ञ ए. आर. रहमान के सहयोगी, संगीतकार नकश अजीज का जन्म मंगलौर में हुआ।

1986 प्रसिद्ध भारतीय भरतनाट्यम नृत्यांगना रुक्मिणी देवी अरुंडेल का निधन हुआ। इसी दिन टेक्सास एयर ने पूर्वी एयरलाइंस को 676 मिलियन डॉलर में खरीदा।

1987 खूबसूरत, बोल्ड, जानी मानी हिंदी, अंग्रेजी और कई अन्य भाषाओं की फिल्मों की अभिनेत्री और माॅडल टीना देसाई का जन्म बंगलौर में हुआ।

1996 मेग मॉलोन ने एलपीजीए कप ओ नूडल्स हवाईयन लेडीज गोल्फ ओपन जीता।

1997 चीन के नेता देंग जियाओपिंग का अंतिम संस्कार किया गया। उनका 19 फरवरी को निधन हुआ था।

1998 बीसवीं सदी की लोकप्रिय फिल्म अभिनेत्रियों में से एक ललिता पवार का निधन हुआ।

2003 चीन के जिजियांग प्रान्त में हुए भीषण भूकम्प से 257 मरे।

2004 रूस के राष्ट्रपति व्लादीमीर पुतिन ने प्रधानमंत्री मिखाइल कास्यानोव को पद से हटाया।

2006 फिलीपीन के राष्ट्रपति ग्लोरिया मैकापगल-अरोयो ने एक संभावित सैन्य तख्तापलट आशंका के चलते आपातकाल लगाया।

2008 फिदेल कास्त्रो ने क्यूबा के राष्ट्रपति पद से त्याग पत्र दिया। 2008 में इसी दिन मुंबई की शगुन साराभाई ने दक्षिण अफ्रीका के जोहांसवर्ग में मिस इंडिया वर्ल्ड वाइड का खिताब जीता।

2009 भारत सरकार ने सेवा कर उत्पाद शुल्क में कटौती की घोषणा की।

2011 यमन के राष्ट्रपति अली अब्दुल्ला सालेह ने देश के सुरक्षा बलों को प्रदर्शनकारियों की रक्षा करने का आदेश दिया। इसी दिन भारतीय शिक्षाविद और अमर चित्रकथा काॅमिक्स के संस्थापक अनंत पै का निधन हुआ।

2013 राउल कास्त्रो दूसरे कार्यकाल के लिये क्यूबा के राष्ट्रपति चुने गये।

2015 अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति बराक ओबामा ने कीस्टोन एक्सएल प्रोजेक्ट का समर्थन किया।

2018 बॉलीवुड की चर्चित, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड, बहुत सफल अभिनेत्री श्रीदेवी का निधन हुआ।
