1265 साइमन डी मोंटफोर्ट द्वारा पहली ब्रिटिश संसद की बैठक वेस्टमिंस्टर पैलेस में आयोजित की गई।

1503 अमेरिकी मामलों को सुलझाने के लिए स्पेन में व्यापार बोर्ड का गठन हुआ।

1779 विख्यात अंग्रेज अभिनेता तथा मंच संचालक डेविड गैरिक का निधन हुआ।

1817 कलकत्ता में हिंदू कॉलेज की स्थापना हुई।

1839 युद्ध में बोलीविया एवं पेरु की संयुक्त सेना को चिली ने पराजित किया।

1840 डच राजा विलियम द्वितीय का राज्याभिषेक हुआ।

1860 इंडोनेशियाई द्वीप सेलेब्स के वाटमपोन पर डच सेना ने जीत हासिल की।

1871 ब्रिटेन शासित भारत में प्रमुख पारसी उद्योगपति जमशेद जी टाटा के बेटे आगे चल कर टाटा उद्योग-कारोबार बढ़ाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाने वाले सर रतनजी जमशेद जी टाटा का बंबई में जन्म हुआ।

1887 पर्ल हार्बर को अमेरिकी सीनेट ने नौसैनिक अड्डा बनाने की अनुमति दी।

1892 दुनिया में सबसे पहले बासकेटबॉल का खेल खेला गया।

1906 भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा के अफसर, कैबीनेट सचिव और हरियाणा, पंजाब, पश्चिम बंगाल तथा कर्नाटक के राज्यपाल रहे धर्म वीर का जन्म बिजनौर में हुआ। 

1920 विख्यात इतालवी फिल्म निर्देशक फेडरिको फेलिनी का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन अमेरिका में नागरिक स्वतंत्रता संघ की स्थापना। 

1925 जापान और सोवियत संघ के बीच सहयोग समझौता हुआ।

1926 विश्व चर्चित अमेरिकी फिल्म अभिनेत्री पेट्रीशिया नील का जन्म केंटुकी, अमेरिका में हुआ।

1927 मशहूर भारतीय उर्दू लेखिका, पत्रकार, उपन्यासकार एवं कहानीकार कुर्रतुलएन हैदर का जन्म अलीगढ़ में हुआ।

1940 प्रसिद्ध भारतीय अभिनेता और राजनेता कृष्णम राजू का जन्म हुआ।

1942 जापान ने बर्मा पर आक्रमण किया।

1945 मोदी सरकार में भारत के मुख्य सुरक्षा सलाहकार अजीत डोभाल का जन्म पौड़ी (गढ़वाल) में हुआ।

1948 प्रसिद्ध नाटककार एवं रंगमंच निदेशक रतन थियम का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन जानी मानी अभिनेत्री, माॅडल और रंगकर्मी तथा फिल्म अभिनेता-राजनेता राज बब्बर की पत्नी नादिरा बब्बर का जन्म हुआ।

1949 अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति हैरी ट्रूमैन ने बहुचर्चित चार सूत्री कार्यक्रम की घोषणा की।

1950 दक्षिण अमेरिकी देश सूरीनाम नीदरलैंड से स्वतंत्र हुआ।

1951 अपने सेवा कार्यों के लिये प्रसिद्ध भारतीय सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता ठक्कर बाप्पा का निधन हुआ।

1952 मिस्र के शहर स्वेज नगर एवं इस्मायलिया पर ब्रिटेन की सेना ने कब्जा किया।

1955 भारत के प्रसिद्ध शिक्षाविद, राजनेता, समाज सुधारक, न्यायविद और लेखक हरविलास शारदा का निधन हुआ।

1957 पोलैंड में संसदीय चुनाव वामपंथी नेता गोलुल्का ने जीता। 1957 में इसी दिन भारत के पहले परमाणु रिएक्टर अप्सरा का आज ही के दिन ट्रॉम्बे में उद्घाटन किया गया। इसी दिन भारत द्वारा आर्थिक प्रतिबंध लगाये जाने के बाद दक्षिण अफ्रीका ने भारतीय जहाजों को अपने यहाँ सुविधाएँ नहीं देने की घोषणा की।

1959 विख्यात स्वतंत्रता संग्राम सेनानी, राजनेता तेज बहादुर सप्रू का निधन हुआ।

1961 जॉन एफ केनेडी ने अमेरिका के 35 वें राष्ट्रपति पद की शपथ ली।

1964 जाने माने भारतीय अमेरिकी पत्रकार फरीद जकारिया का जन्म बंबई में हुआ। जकारिया न्यूज वीक नामक अंग्रेजी अंतरराष्ट्रीय पत्रिका के संपादक रहे। टाइम मैग्जीन ने इन्हें एडीटर इन-लार्ज घोषित किया। इसी दिन गीत, नृत्य तथा संगीत का प्रख्यात प्रोग्राम मीट द बीटलेस अमेरिका में जारी हुआ।

1968 इराक के राष्ट्रपति आरिफ हटा दिये गए।

1970 खूबसूरत, बोल्ड जानी मानी फिल्म, रियलिटी शो, बिग बाॅस, मंच अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल डाॅली बिंद्रा का जन्म बंबई में हुआ।

1971 केंद्र शासित प्रदेश के रूप में मिजोरम और अरुणाचल प्रदेश का उदय हुआ। 1972 में इसी दिन भारतीय राज्य मेघालय की स्थापना हुई।

1974 भारत के प्रमुख खान-पान विशेषज्ञ, भारतीय पकवानों को देश और दुनिया खासतौर पर अमेरिका में पहचान दिलाने वाले मनीष मेहरोत्रा का जन्म पटना में हुआ। इसी दिन विख्यात कन्नड़ फिल्म अभिनेता दुनिया विजय का जन्म कुंबारानाहल्ली में हुआ।

1977 जिम्मी कार्टर अमेरिका के 39वें राष्ट्रपति बने।

1980 अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति जिम्मी कार्टर ने मास्को ओलंपिक का बहिष्कार किया।

1982 फेसबुक की उत्पाद प्रबंधक, जानी मानी भारतीय कंप्यूटर इंजीनियर और कारोबारी रुचि सांघवी का जन्म पुणे में हुआ। इ सी दिन मध्य अमेरिकी देश होंडुरास में संविधान प्रभावकारी हुआ।

1984 जाने माने टेलीविजन और फिल्म अभिनेता तथा माॅडल मनमोहन तिवारी का जन्म ऋषिकेश में हुआ।

1988 भारत रत्न सम्मानित स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, सीमांत गांधी कहे गये, खान अब्दुल गफ्फार खान का निधन हुआ।

1989 जार्ज हर्बर्ट वाकर बुश ने अमेरिका के 41 वें राष्ट्रपति पद की शपथ ली।

1993 जानी मानी खूबसूरत, बोल्ड अभिनेत्री, बाॅडी फिटनेस कारोबारी, माॅडल और रोडीज विजेता श्वेता मेहता का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन बिल क्लिंटन ने संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के 42वें राष्ट्रपति के रूप में कार्यभार ग्रहण किया। 1993 में इसी दिन परमवीर चक्र सम्मानित भारतीय सैनिक लांस नायक करम सिंह का निधन हुआ।

1994 जाने माने भारतीय क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी अक्षर पटेल का जन्म नडियाड में हुआ।

2000 सांख्यिकी एवं अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फुटबाल महासंघ ने पेले को शताब्दी का सर्वश्रेष्ठ खिलाड़ी घोषित किया।

2001 जार्ज डब्ल्यू बुश संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के 43 वें राष्ट्रपति बने और ग्लोरिया आरोयो फिलीपींस की राष्ट्रपति बनीं।

2003 अल्जीरिया में हुए विद्रोहियों के हमले में लगभग 50 सैनिक मरे गये।

2005 सत्तर-अस्सी के दशक की लोकप्रिय बालीवुड फिल्म अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल परवीन बाबी का निधन हुआ।

2006 प्लूटो ग्रह के बारे में और जानकारी के लिए नासा ने न्यूहोराइजन यान को प्रक्षेपित किया। 2006 में इसी दिन नेपाल और भारत ने पारगमन संधि की अवधि को 3 महीने के लिए बढ़ाया।

2007 अफगानिस्तान में सीमांत गांधी के नाम पर संग्रहालय स्थापित किया गया।

2008 बॉलीवुड अभिनेता देव आनंद को भारतीय सिनेमा में उनके योगदान के लिए लाइफटाइम अचीवमेंट अवार्ड़ प्रदान किया गया। इसी दिन पाकिस्तान के इंटेलिजेंस ब्यूरो के एक निदेशक निसार खान की अज्ञात लोगों ने गोली मारकर हत्या की।

2009 बराक हुसैन ओबामा ने अमेरिका के 44 वें राष्ट्रपति के रूप में पदभार संभाला। 2009 में इसी दिन नेशनल कांफेंस के अध्यक्ष उमर अब्दुल्ला ने जम्मू-कश्मीर के ये मुख्यमंत्री पद की शपथ ली।

2010 गुरुदत्त की फिल्मों, कागज के फूल चौदहवीं का चाँद और साहब बीवी और गुलाम आदि को फिल्माने वाले प्रसिद्ध सिनेमेटोग्राफर वीके मूर्ति को प्रतिष्ठित दादासाहेब फालके पुरस्कार के लिए चुना गया। यह पुरस्कार पहली बार किसी सिनेमेटोग्राफर को दिया गया। 2010 में इसी दिन एशिया की सबसे बड़ी विमान सेवा जापान एयरलांइस ने खुद को दीवालिया घोषित किया। भारत में ‘मोबाइल पोर्टेबिलिटी’ सेवाओं की शुरुआत इसी दिन हुई। 2010 में इसी दिन विख्यात अमेरिकी लेखक व (लव स्टोरी) उपन्यासकार एरिक सेगल का निधन।

2018 भारत ने लगातार दूसरी बार नेत्रहीन क्रिकेट विश्व कप जीता।

2020 जेपी नड्डा भारतीय जनता पार्टी के नए अध्यक्ष चुने गये। वे भाजपा के 11वें राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष बने। इसी दिन आंध्र प्रदेश विधानसभा ने राज्य में तीन राजधानी बनाने संबंधी बिल को मंजूरी दे दी। वाईएस जगनमोहन रेड्डी सरकार ने कैबिनेट से मंजूरी के बाद यह बिल विधानसभा में पेश किया था। इस बिल के अनुसार, विशाखापट्टनम को कार्यकारी, अमरावती को विधायी और कुर्नूल को न्यायिक राजधानी बनाया जाएगा। इसी दिन विख्यात बॉलीवुड अभिनेत्री दीपिका पादुकोण को मेंटल हेल्थ के बारे में जागरूकता फैलाने और इसका नेतृत्व करने के लिए वर्ल्ड इकोनॉमिक फोरम की ओर से क्रिस्टल अवॉर्ड से सम्मानित किया गया। इसी दिन जारी ईआईयू द्वारा 2019 की लोकतंत्र सूचकांक की वैश्विक सूची में भारत 10 स्थान फिसल कर 51वें स्थान पर आ गया।
