649 पश्चिमी तुर्कों के खिलाफ युद्ध में तांग राजवंश के जनरल आशिना शी के नेतृत्व में सेना ने घेराबंदी की कूचा की सेना ने आत्मसमर्पण कर दिया शिनजियांग में उत्तरी तरीम बेसिन पर तांग नियंत्रण स्थापित हुआ।

1597 मेवाड़ के सिसौदिया राजवंश के महाराणा प्रताप यानी प्रताप सिंह सिसौदिया का उदयपुर के चवंद में निधन हुआ।

1607 फिलीपींस की राजधानी मनीला में सैन अगस्टिन चर्च बनकर तैयार हुआ। यह फिलीपींस का सबसे पुराना चर्च है।

1668 स्पेन के बंटवारे को लेकर समझौते पर सम्राट लियोपेल्ड प्रथम एवं किंग लुईस 14वें ने हस्ताक्षर किये।

1746 द्वितीय जैकबाइट राइजिंग के दौरान, बोनी प्रिंस चार्ली ने स्टर्लिंग, स्कॉटलैंड के शहर पर कब्जा कर लिया, लेकिन महल पर कब्जा करने में विफल रहा।

1795 फ्रांस की सेनाओं ने हॉलैंड को बुरी तरह तबाह किया।

1809 विश्व विख्यात अमेरिकन रोमांसवाद के कथाकार, अपनी रहस्मयी और डरावनी कहानियों के लिए मशहूर, कवि, आलोचक एवं लेखक तथा संपादक एडगर एलन पो का जन्म बोस्टन में हुआ।

1812 स्पेन ने बेलिंगटन के ड्यूक के नेतृत्व में कई महत्त्वपूर्ण शहरों पर कब्जा किया।

1835 ग्वालियर राजघराने में महाराजा हुए जयाजीराव सिंधिया का जन्म हुआ। इनके बेटे माधवराव सिंधिया कांग्रेस के प्रमुख नेता हुए।

1839 यमन के शहर अदन को जीत ब्रिटिश ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी ने लिया।

1853 विख्यात उड़िया साहित्यकार एवं कवि मधुसूदन राव का जन्म हुआ।

1855 जाने माने भारतीय पत्रकार, स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, बुद्धिजीवी, लेखक और सामाजिक कार्यकता तथा प्रतिष्ठित अखबार द हिंदू के संस्थापक गणपति दीक्षितार सुब्रह्मण्यम अय्यर का तंजावूर में जन्म हुआ।

1883 उत्तरी सागर या नार्थ सी में जर्मन स्टीमर सिंब्रिया और ब्रिटिश स्टीमर सुल्तान एक दूसरे से टकरा गये जिससे 340 लोगों की मौत हुई।

1886 महान संगीतज्ञ अब्दुल करीम खान के शिष्य तथा भारत रत्न सम्मान प्राप्त शास्त्री संगीतज्ञ पं. भीमसेन जोशी के गुरु विख्यात हिंदुस्तान शास्त्रीय संगीतकार, मराठी रंगमंच के कलाकार सवाई गंधर्व का जन्म  हुआ।

1898 मराठी भाषा के सुप्रसिद्ध साहित्यकार विष्णु सखाराम खांडेकर का जन्म हुआ।

1905 नोबेल पुरस्कार विजेता कविंद्र रबीन्द्रनाथ टैगोर के पिता और हिंदू चिंतक, विचारक, ब्रह्म समाज के अग्रणी कर्ता-धर्ता देबेंद्रनाथ टैगोर निधन हुआ।

1907 विख्यात ईरानी संगीतकार अमीनुल्ला हुसैन का तुर्कमानिस्तान में ईरानी परिवार में जन्म हुआ। 1907 में इसी दि पहली फिल्म समीक्षा वैरायटी मैग्जीन में छपी।

1910 बोलिविया तथा जर्मनी का वाणिज्यिक तथा दोस्ताना समझौता समाप्त।

1918 बोल्शेविकों ने पेट्रोगाड स्थित संविधान सभा को भंग कर दिया।

1920 फ्रांस में अलेक्जेंडर मिलरैंड ने सरकार का गठन किया। 1920 में इसी दिन संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ के पाँचवें महासचिव जेवियर पेरिज डी कुईयार का जन्म हुआ।

1921 मध्य अमेरिकी देशों ग्वाटेमाला, अल सल्वाडोर, होंडुरस तथा कोस्टारिका ने समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किये।

1927 ब्रिटेन ने अपनी सेना को चीन भेजने का निर्णय लिया।

1929 भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा के अफसर, पत्रकार, अंतरराष्ट्रीय मामलों के समीक्षक और लेखक कृष्णास्वामी सुब्रमण्यम का जन्म तिरुचिरापल्ली में हुआ।

1933 संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार प्राप्त तमिल कर्नाटक शास्त्रीय संगीतकार सिरकाजी गोविंदराजन का जन्म हुआ।

1935 विख्यात बंगाली फिल्म अभिनेता सौमित्र चटर्जी का जन्म हुआ।

1938 जनरल फ्रांसिस्को फ्रैंको के समर्थक सैनिकों ने वैलेसिया और बार्सीलोना शहरों पर बमबारी की, जिससे 900 लोग मारे गये।

1941 अफ्रीकी देश सूडान के कसलफ पर ब्रिटेन की सेना ने कब्जा किया।

1942 द्वितीय विश्वयुद्ध के दौरान जापान ने बर्मा पर कब्जा किया।

1949 इजरायल को कैरेबियाई देश क्यूबा ने मान्यता दी।

1953 बंगाली सिनेमा के प्रतिष्ठित अभिनेता, निर्देशक, गायक एवं गीतकार अन्जान दत्त का कलकत्ता में जन्म हुआ।

1956 अरब लीग का नौंवा सदस्य सूडान बना।

1957 बंबई के चर्चित पुलिस आयुक्त, लेखक और वक्ता राकेश मारिया का जन्म हुआ।

1960 जापान और अमेरिका के बीच आपसी सुरक्षा समझौता हुआ।

1966 भारत के पहले प्रधानमंत्री जवाहरलाल नेहरु की इकलौती बेटी इंदिरा गांधी भारत की तृतीय प्रधानमंत्री बनीं।

1977 समुद्र तटों के लिए प्रसिद्ध अमेरिका के मिआमी शहर में पहली बार बर्फ गिरी।

1980 जानी मानी, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड मराठी एवं हिंदी फिल्म तथा टेलीविजन अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल मानसी साल्वी का जन्म हुआ।

1981 ईरान तथा अमेरिकी के बीच हुए समझौते के तहत 55 अमेरिकी बंधकों को रिहा किया गया।

1984 मलयालम सिनेमा की जानी मानी, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड, बहुप्रतिभावान अभिनेत्री, माॅडल और फिल्म निर्मात्री रीमा कलिंगल का जन्म अय्यनथोल, त्रिसूर में हुआ। इसी दिन जाने माने भारतीय रेसिंग ड्राइवर तथा टेलीविजन शो प्रस्तोता करुण चंढोक का जन्म चेन्नई में हुआ।

1986 जाने माने तेलुगू फिल्म अभिनेता और गायक श्रीराम चंद्र माइनामपति का जन्म अद्दांकी में हुआ। इसी दिन पहला कम्प्यूटर वायरस सी.ब्रेन सक्रिय किया गया।

1987 जस्टिस नारायण दत्त ओझा सुप्रीम कोर्ट के जज नियुक्त होने के दो घंटे बाद सेवानिवृत्त हुए।

1990 आचार्य रजनीश, ओशो और भगवान रजनीश के नाम से विश्व विख्यात भारतीय विचारक और आध्यात्मिक पथ प्रदर्शक चंद्रमोहन जैन का निधन हुआ। इसी दिन जाने माने भारतीय कुश्ती खिलाड़ी रोहित कुमार का जन्म निजामपुर, पानीपत में हुआ। इसी दिन तेलुगू फिल्मों के प्रसिद्ध अभिनेता एवं माॅडल कोनिडेला वरुण तेज का जन्म हैदराबाद में हुआ।

1991 दक्षिण भारतीय, तमिल, तेलुगू, कन्नड़ आदि सिनेमा की खूबसूरत, बोल्ड और प्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल सुषमा राज का जन्म बंगलौर में हुआ।

1994 परिवहन विमान पर हमले के बाद सरायेवो से लोगों को बाहर निकालने का काम राष्ट्रसंघ अधिकारियों ने स्थगित कर दिया।

1995 चेचन्या के अलगाववादी राष्ट्रपति भवन से भाग निकले और रूसी तोपखाने ने उसे नष्ट कर दिया। 1995 में इसी दिन मशहूर हिंदी एवं उर्दू साहित्यकार उपेंद्रनाथ अश्क का निधन हुआ।

2000 न्यूयॉर्क के टाइम स्क्वायर पर पहला डब्ल्यूडब्ल्यूएफ रेस्टोरेंट खुला था।

2003 पाकिस्तान में भारतीय राजनयिक सुधीर व्यास को प्रताड़ित किया गया।

2005 सानिया मिर्जा लॉन टेनिस के ‘आस्ट्रेलिया ओपन’ के तीसरे दौर में पहुँचने वाली पहली भारतीय महिला बनीं।

2006 स्लोवाकिया में स्लोवाक वायु सेना के एंटोनोव एन -24 विमान दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो जाने से जिसमें विमान मेें सवार 43 लोगों में से 42 लोग मारे गए। 2006 में इसी दिन अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नासा का न्यू हॉराइजन स्पेसक्राफ्ट लॉन्च हुआ। यह प्लूटो ग्रह की जानकारी एकत्र करने के लिए इस मिशन को भेजा गया।

2007 ओमान के सुल्तान काबूस बिन सईद बिन तैमूर अल सईद को जवाहर लाल नेहरू पुरस्कार प्रदान करने का निर्णय किया गया। 2007 में इसी दिन तुर्की-अर्मेनियाई पत्रकार ह्रंट डिंक की हत्या अर्मेनियाई नरसंहार पर उनकी अर्मेनियाई नरसंहार पर रिपोर्ट प्रकाशित होने के बाद कर दी गई।

2009 झारखंड में राजनीतिक अनिश्चितता को समाप्त करते हुए केन्द्रीय कैबिनेट ने राष्ट्रपति शासन लगाने का निर्णय किया। सूर्यशेखर गांगुली ने श्पार्श्वनाथ शतरंज खघ्तिाबश् जीता।

2010 कन्नड़ फिल्मों के प्रसिद्ध अभिनेता केएस अशवाथ का निधन हुआ। इसी दिन पश्चिम बंगाल बिहार और उड़ीसा ने जैव संशोधित बीटी बैंगन का विरोध किया। देश के कुल बैंगन उत्पादन में इन तीन राज्यों का 60 प्रतिशत हिस्सा है। इसमें पश्चिम बंगाल 30 प्रतिशत, उड़ीसा 20 प्रतिशत व बिहार 11 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी रखता है।

2011 ट्यूनीशिया के राजनीतिक कैदियों को मुक्त किया गया और इसी दिन 2011 सोमालिया समुद्री डाकुओं ने ओमान के तट के पास से मंगोलियाई थोक वाहक जहाज का अपहरण कर लिया।

2012 प्रसिद्ध संगीतकार तथा भारतीय व पश्चिमी संगीत के उस्ताद एंथनी गोंजाल्विस का निधन हुआ। 2012 में इसी दिन प्रसिद्ध फिल्म और कैमरा कंपनी कोडक ने खुद के दिवालिया हो जाने की जानकारी दी। 

2013 स्काटलैंड के ग्लेन कोए में हुए हिमस्खलन में चार पर्वतारोहियों की मौत हुई।

2014 ऑस्ट्रेलियन ओपन के चौथे दौर में सर्बिया टेनिस खिलाड़ी और 2008 के फ्रेंच ओपन चैंपियन एना इवानोविच ने सेरेना विलियम्स को हराया।

2015 विख्यात राजनीतिक विचारक, इतिहासज्ञ एवं लेखक रजनी कोठारी का निधन हुआ।

2020 विराट कोहली वनडे क्रिकेट में सबसे तेज 5000 रन बनाने वाले कप्तान बने। उन्होंने ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ तीसरे और निर्णायक वनडे मैच में बेंगलुरु के चिन्नास्वामी स्टेडियम में मिशेल स्टार्क की गेंद पर चैका लगाकर यह उपलब्धि हासिल की। भारत ने परमाणु हमला करने में सक्षम बैलिस्टिक मिसाइल का सफल परीक्षण किया। आंध्र प्रदेश के समुद्री तट से दागी गई इस मिसाइल की मारक क्षमता 3,500 किलोमीटर है। दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने दिल्ली विधानसभा चुनाव हेतु एक गारंटी कार्ड जारी किया, जिसे श्केजरीवाल गारंटी कार्डश् नाम दिया गया। इस गारंटी कार्ड में दिल्ली के लोगों से 10 सूचीबद्ध वायदे किये।

1990 Chandramohan Jain, world famous Indian thinker and spiritual guide by the name of Acharya Rajneesh, Osho and Bhagwan Rajneesh, passed away. On this day famous Indian wrestling player Rohit Kumar was born in Nizampur, Panipat. On this day famous actor and model of Telugu films Konidela Varun Tej was born in Hyderabad.

1994 After the attack on a transport plane, the evacuation of people from Sarajevo was suspended by the UN authorities.

1995 Chechnya separatists escape from the presidential palace and it is destroyed by Russian artillery. On this day in 1995, famous Hindi and Urdu writer Upendranath Ashk passed away.

2000 The first WWF restaurant opens in New York's Time Square.

In 2003, Indian diplomat Sudhir Vyas was tortured in Pakistan.

2005 Sania Mirza became the first Indian woman to reach the third round of the Australian Open in lawn tennis.

2006 A Slovak Air Force Antonov An-24 aircraft crashes in Slovakia, killing 42 of the 43 people on board. On this day in 2006, the New Horizon spacecraft of the American space agency NASA was launched. This mission was sent to collect information about the planet Pluto.

2007 It was decided to confer the Jawaharlal Nehru Award on Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur Al Said, Sultan of Oman. On this day in 2007 Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink was murdered after publishing his report on the Armenian Genocide.

2013 Four climbers die in an avalanche at Glen Coe, Scotland.

Serbian tennis player and 2008 French Open champion Ana Ivanovic defeated Serena Williams in the fourth round of the 2014 Australian Open.

2015 Renowned political thinker, historian and writer Rajni Kothari passed away.

2020 Virat Kohli became the fastest captain to score 5000 runs in ODI cricket. He achieved this feat by hitting a boundary off Mitchell Starc at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in the third and deciding ODI against Australia. India successfully test-fired a nuclear-capable ballistic missile. The missile, fired from the sea coast of Andhra Pradesh, has a range of 3,500 km. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal issued a guarantee card for the Delhi Assembly elections, named as 'Kejriwal Guarantee Card'. In this guarantee card, 10 listed promises were made to the people of Delhi.
