1551 मुगल साम्राज्य के बादशाह अकबर महान के नवरत्नों में से एक अबुल फजल पूरा नाम अबुल फजल इब्न मुबारक का जन्म हुआ। वे लेखक, चिंतक थे और उन्होंने आइने अकबरी और अकबरनामा किताबें लिखीं।

1641 यूनाइटेड ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी ने मलयेशिया के मलक्का शहर पर विजय प्राप्त की।

1659 एलवास के युद्ध में पुर्तगाल ने स्पेन को पराजित किया।

1742 एडमंड हैली का निधन हुआ जो इंग्लैंड प्रसिद्ध खगोलशास्त्री थे। उन्होंने दुनिया को धूमकेतु के बारे में जानकारी दी।

1760 फ्रांसीसी जनरल लेली ने पांडिचेरी अंग्रेजों के हवाले कर दिया।

1761 पानीपत की तीसरी लड़ाई मराठों और अहमदशाह अब्दाली के बीच हुई।

1784 अमरीका ने ब्रिटेन के साथ शांति संधि की पुष्टि की।

1809 इंग्लैंड और स्पेन ने विस्तारवादी फ्रांसीसी शासक नेपोलियन बोनापार्ट के खिलाफ गठबंधन किया।

1858 नेपोलियन तृतीय की हत्या की साजिश का भंडाफोड़ हुआ।

1867 पेरू ने स्पेन के खिलाफ युद्ध की घोषणा की।

1886 प्रसिद्ध समाज सुधारक मंगूराम का जन्म हुआ।

1896 ब्रिटिश शासन के अधीन आई.सी.एस. अधिकारी और स्वतंत्रता के बाद भारत के तीसरे वित्त मंत्री सी. डी. देशमुख का जन्म हुआ।

1905 हिंदी व मराठी फिल्मों की प्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री दुर्गा खोटे का जन्म हुआ। पहले वे मुख्य भूमिकाओं लोकप्रिय हुईं और उसके बाद चरित्र अभिनेत्री के रूप में तारीफ पाई। उनके मां के रोल लोगों को बहुत याद आते हैं।

1907 जमैका में भूकंप से किंगस्टन शहर तबाह हो गया और लगभग 900 से अधिक लोग मारे गये। 1937 में जयशंकर प्रसाद का निधन हुआ जो हिंदी के प्रमुख कवि, चिंतक, साहित्यकार थे।

1912 रेमंड पोंकारे फ्रांस के प्रधानमंत्री बने।

1918 पुर्तगाली साम्राज्यवादियों से गोवा की मुक्ति के स्वतंत्रता संग्राम की प्रमुख नेता सुधाताई जोशी का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन 1918 में फ्रांस के पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री जोसेफ कैलाक्स को देशद्रोह के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया।

1919 आजमगढ़ उत्तर प्रदेश में कैफी आज़मी का जन्म हुआ जो भारतीय उपमहाद्वीप के प्रमुख उर्दू शायर हुए और हिंदी फिल्मों के लिए लिखे गये उनके गीत बहुत लोकप्रिय हुए।

1926 सरकारी जनविरोधी नीतियों की भारत की प्रमुख आलोचक, सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता और लेखिका ज्ञानपीठ एवं पद्मविभूषण सम्मान प्राप्त महाश्वेता देवी का ढाका में जन्म हुआ।

1929 हिंदी और बांग्ला फिल्मों के जाने माने, प्रतिष्ठित संगीत निर्देशक और गायक श्यामल मित्रा का जन्म हुआ।

1937 तेलुगू सिनेमा का प्रमुख अभिनेता सोभन बाबू का जन्म हुआ।

1942 भारत के सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के 36वें भूतपूर्व मुख्य न्यायाधीश योगेश कुमार सभरवाल का जन्म हुआ।

1950 रामानंद संप्रदाय के हिंदू धर्माचार्य जगद्गुरु रामभद्राचार्य यानी गिरिधर मिश्र का जन्म जौनपुर में हुआ। इसी दिन ईरान में मुहम्मद सईद ने सरकार का गठन किया।

1954 कृपालु महाराज ने 7 दिनों तक 500 से ज्यादा हिंदू विद्वानों के समक्ष भाषण दिया। उन्हें पाँचवाँ जगदगुरु घोषित किया गया।

1956 भारत के जाने माने राजनेता, टीवी टिप्पणीकार तथा स्तंभकार और भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा के अफसर रहे विधायक आंध्र प्रदेश विधान सभा डॉ जय प्रकाश नारायण का जन्म नागभीर में हुआ।

1957 अमेरिका के सबसे बड़े बैंक सिटी ग्रुप के प्रमुख रहे, आर्थिक मामलों के जानकार, प्रमुख बैंकर विक्रम पंडित का जन्म नागपुर में हुआ।

1962 अल्जीरिया के शहरों में हुए आतंकवादी हमलों में 6 लोग मारे गये।

1965 भारत की मशहूर महिला डकैत फूलन देवी पर बनी शेखर कपूर की फिल्म बैंडिट क्वीन में फूलन का किरदार निभाने वाली प्रसिद्ध थिएटर एवं फिल्म तारिका सीमा बिस्वास का जन्म हुआ।

1966 इंडोनेशिया ने राष्ट्र संघ स्थित अपना मिशन बंद कर दिया।

1969 भारत के दक्षिणी राज्य मद्रास का नाम बदलकर तमिलनाडु किया गया।

1974 दक्षिण भारतीय सिनेमा की प्रमुख स्वर कलाकार सविता रेड्डी यानी सविता राधाकृष्ण का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन अमेरिका में विश्व फुटबाल लीग की स्थापना की गयी।

1975 सोवियत संघ ने अमेरिका के साथ व्यापार समझौते को समाप्त किया।

1977 भारत के एकमात्र फॉरमूला वन चालक नारायण कार्तिकेयन का जन्म हुआ।

1982 श्रीमती इंदिरा गाँधी ने 20 सूत्रीय कार्यक्रम की घोषणा की।

1986 ग्वाटेमाला में विनिसियों केरजो 6 वर्षों में पहले असैनिक राष्ट्रपति बने। इसी दिन 1986 में मध्य अमेरिकी देश ग्वाटेमाला में संविधान लागू हुआ।

1989 इलाहाबाद में बारह वर्ष बाद कुम्भ का मेला प्रारम्भ हुआ।

1991 जानी मानी, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड माॅडल और अभिनेत्री अनाइका सोती का जन्म लखनऊ में हुआ। यह हिंदी सहित तमिल, तेलुगू आदि अन्य भाषाओं की फिल्मों में भी काम करती हैं।

1992 इजरायल ने जार्डन के साथ शांतिवार्ता शुरू की।

1994 यूक्रेन, रूस तथा संयुक्त राज्य अमेरीका द्वारा मास्को में परमाणु अस्त्र कम करने संबंधी समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर।

1994 तीन सौ वर्ष में पहली बार ब्रिटेन के शाही परिवार के किसी सदस्य ने कैथोलिक धर्म अपनाया. एक प्राइवेट सर्विस में डचेस ऑफ केंट कैथोलिक चर्च की सदस्य बनीं।

2000 कंयूटर के बादशाह बिल गेट्स ने स्टीव वाल्मर को विश्व की सबसे बड़ी कंप्यूटर साफ्टवेयर कंपनी सौंपी।

2002 ब्रिटेन सरकार ने घोषणा की कि करीब 11 महीने तक देश में फैली फुट एंड माउथ बीमारी को मध्यरात्रि में खत्म माना जाएगा।

2007 नेपाल में अंतरिम संविधान को मंजूरी मिली।

2009 सरकार ने विदेशी समाचार पत्रों के फेसीमाइल (प्रति) संस्करणों के प्रकाशन में शत-प्रतिशत विदेशी निवेश को मंजूरी देने की घोषणा की।

2017 बिहार के पटना में गंगा नदी में नाव डूबने से कम से कम 24 लोगों की मृत्यु।

2020 केरल सरकार ने नागरिकता संशोधन अधिनियम सीएए के खिलाफ सुप्रीम कोर्ट में याचिका दायर की। केरल नागरिकता संशोधन कानून के खिलाफ सुप्रीम कोर्ट में जाने वाला पहला राज्य बना।
