632 ई. मदीना, हेजाज, अरब में मुहम्मद का निधन हुआ। हजरत मुहम्मद मुख्य अरब धार्मिक, सामाजिक और राजनीतिक नेता और इस्लाम के संस्थापक, केंद्रीय थे। इस्लामी सिद्धांत के अनुसार मुहम्मद आदम, अब्राहम, मूसा, ईसा और अन्य नबियों की एकेश्वरवादी शिक्षाओं का प्रचार करने और उनकी पुष्टि करने के लिए ईश्वरीय रूप से प्रेरित पैगंबर थे। मुहम्मद को आखिरी पैगंबर कहा गया है। यानी ईश्वर के भेजे हुए अंतिम संदेशवाहक। मुहम्मद के द्वारा रचित कुरान और उनकी शिक्षाएं, व्यवहार इस्लामी धार्मिक विश्वास का आधार हैं।

793 वाइकिंग्स ने नॉर्थम्ब्रिया में लिंडिसफर्ने के मठ पर छापा मारा जिसे आमतौर पर ब्रिटिश द्वीपों में नॉर्स गतिविधि की शुरुआत के रूप में स्वीकार किया जाता है।

1290 फ्लोरेंस, फ्लोरेंस गणराज्य में बीट्राइस बाइस डि फोल्को पोर्टिनारी का निधन हुआ, जो लेखिका, विष्लेषक और कवियत्री थीं। इटली की प्रसिद्ध महिला जिसे दांते एलघिएरी के वीटा नुओवा के लिए मुख्य प्रेरणा के रूप में और बीट्राइस के साथ भी पहचाना गया। बीट्राइस बाइस डि फोल्को पोर्टिनारी की कथात्मक कविता द डिवाइन कॉमेडी (ला डिविना कॉमेडिया) पैराडाइसो की अंतिम पुस्तक पूर्ववर्ती पुर्गेटोरियो के समापन के दौरान उनके मार्गदर्शक कॉमेडी में बीट्राइस ईश्वरीय कृपा और धर्मशास्त्र का प्रतीक है।

1384 कानामी कियोत्सुगु का निधन हुआ। कानामी मुरोमाची काल के प्रमुख जापानी नोह अभिनेता, लेखक, नाटककार और संगीतकार थे। कानामी के बेटे जेमी मोटोकियो भी प्रसिद्ध जापानी नाटककार हुए।

1508 रासिका, डची ऑफ कार्निओला (अब स्लोवेनिया) में प्रसिद्ध स्लोवेनियाई प्रोटेस्टेंट इसाई समाज और धार्मिक सुधारक प्रिमोज ट्रुबर का जन्म हुआ।

1557 इंग्लैंड ने फ्रांस के खिलाफ युद्ध की घोषणा की।

1625 पेरिनाल्डो, जेनोवा गणराज्य में जियोवानी डोमेनिको कैसिनी (जीन-डोमिनिक कैसिनी निधन 14 सितंबर 1712) का जन्म हुआ। कैसिनी विख्यात इतालवी गणितज्ञ, खगोलशास्त्री और इंजीनियर हुए। कैसिनी खगोल विज्ञान और इंजीनियरिंग पर अपने काम के लिए जाने जाते हैं। उन्होंने शनि ग्रह के चार उपग्रहों की खोज की और शनि के वलयों के विभाजन को नोट किया। कैसिनी डिवीजन का नाम उनके नाम पर रखा गया। 1997 में प्रक्षेपित कैसिनी अंतरिक्ष जांच यान का नाम उनके नाम पर रखा गया और यह शनि ग्रह पर जाने वाला चौथा और ग्रह की परिक्रमा करने वाला पहला अंतरिक्ष यान बन गया। अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नासा, यूरोपीय अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी और इतालवी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी के इस अंतरिक्ष-अनुसंधान मिशन में शनि ग्रह और इसकी प्रणाली, इसके छल्ले और प्राकृतिक उपग्रह शामिल हैं।

1997 पेरिस में फ्रेंच ओपन टेनिस प्रतियोगिता में भारत के महेश भूपति ने मिश्रित युगल खिताब जीतकर इतिहास बनाया।

2001 जाने माने तेलुगु और हिंदी और दक्षिण भारतीय फिल्म पत्रकार, निर्देशक और निर्माता कोटय्या प्रत्यगत्मा का निधन हुआ।

2002 फिलीपींस सरकार ने आतंकवादी संगठन अबू सय्याफ के विरुद्ध अभियान शुरू करने का आदेश दिया।

2008 दक्षिणी सोमालिया में आतंकवादियों ने ब्रिटिश ब्राडकास्टिंग कारपोरेशन बीबीसी के एक स्थानीय पत्रकार की गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी। इसी दिन उत्तर प्रदेश के मछली पालन मंत्री जमुना निषाद को मुख्यमंत्री मायावती ने बर्खास्त किया। 

2009 मशहूर पटकथा लेखक, नाट्य निर्देशक, कवि और अभिनेता हबीब तनवीर का निधन हुआ। आगरा बाजार और चरणदास चोर जैसे कई प्रसिद्ध नाटकों की तनवीर ने रचना की। 2009 में ही इसी दिन महासागरों के महत्व और उससे संबंधित विषयों खाद्य सुरक्षा, जैव विविधता, पारिस्थितिकि संतुलन आदि की ओर राजनीतिक और सामाजिक ध्यान आकर्षित करने के लिए संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा विश्व महासागर दिवस 8 जून को मनाने की घोषणा की। इसी दिन 2009 में 2 अमेरिकी पत्रकारों को उत्तर कोरिया में अवैध रूप से प्रवेश करने का दोषी पाया गया और 12 वर्ष के सश्रम कारावास की सजा सुनाई गई।

2010 ब्रेन ट्यूमर के बारे में समझ और जागरुकता बढ़ाने के लिए प्रतिवर्ष 8 जून को विश्व ब्रेन ट्यूमर दिवस मनाया जाता है। ब्रेन ट्यूमर दुनिया भर में चौथी सबसे गंभीर और व्यापक बीमारी है। अनुमान है कि 2030 तक ब्रेन ट्यूमर स्किन कैंसर को पार कर के कैंसर का दूसरा सबसे प्रचलित रूप बन सकता है। वर्ल्ड ब्रेन ट्यूमर डे मनाने की शुरुआत 2000 के दशक से हुई जब जर्मन ब्रेन ट्यूमर एसोसिएशन ने ब्रेन ट्यूमर के बारे में जागरुकता बढ़ाने के लिए एक अभियान शुरू किया। 2000 में एसोसिएशन ने 8 मई को जर्मन ब्रेन ट्यूमर डे घोषित किया। इसका उद्देश्य रोगियों और उनके परिवारों के सामने आने वाली चुनौतियों के बारे में आम लोगों को सूचित करना था। बाद में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मान्यता प्राप्त हुई और ब्रेन ट्यूमर के प्रति जागरुकता बढ़ाने के लिए एक वैश्विक दिवस के रूप में इसे स्थापित करने पर जोर दिया गया। सन 2010 में इंटरनेशनल ब्रेन ट्यूमर एलायंस ने 8 जून को विश्व ब्रेन ट्यूमर दिवस नामित किया था। इंटरनेशनल ब्रेन ट्यूमर एलायंस दुनिया भर के ब्रेन ट्यूमर के प्रति जागरुक करने वाले समूहों को एक साथ लाता है। वर्ल्ड ब्रेन ट्यूमर डे को मनाने का महत्व और मकसद ब्रेन ट्यूमर के बारे में वैश्विक स्तर पर जागरुकता फैलाना है। यह दिन एक मंच के रूप में काम करता है, जब लोग खुलकर इस बीमारी के प्रति अपने विचारों और सुझावों जानकारियों का आदान-प्रदान करते हैं। रोगियों और उनके परिवारों के सामने आने वाली चुनौतियों को भी उजागर करना है। इसके अलावा ट्यूमर की शुरुआती पहचान के बारे में जानकारी देना, शोधों-अध्ययनों को बढ़ावा देना और लोगों तक बेहतर इलाज पहुंचाना भी इस दिन का मकसद है।

2012 जाने माने दक्षिण भारतीय फिल्म निर्देशक, लेखक, संपादक के.एस.आर. कोंडा का निधन हुआ। कोंडा ने दक्षिण भारतीय भाषाओं, मुख्य रूप से तेलुगु और कन्नड़ में कई ब्लॉकबस्टर फिल्मों का निर्देशन किया। इसी दिन पाकिस्तान में एक बस में हुये बम धमाके में 18 लोगों की मौत हो गई और 35 अन्य घायल हो गये।

2013 अमेरिका की टेनिस खिलाड़ी सेरेना विलियम्स ने मारिया शारापोवा को हराकर फ्रेंच ओपन खिताब जीता।

2014 रूस की टेनिस खिलाड़ी मारिया शारापोवा ने सिमोना हालेप को हराकर फ्रेंच ओपन खिताब जीता। 2014 में इसी दिन पाकिस्तान के कराची के जिन्ना अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे पर हुए हमले में 28 से अधिक लोग मारे गए। 2014 में इसी दिन पोलिश-अमेरिकी रसायन विज्ञानी, परामनोवैज्ञानिक और शिक्षाविद अलेक्जेंडर इमिच का निधन हुआ।

2018 कैसरसबर्ग विग्नोबल, फ्रांस में एंथनी माइकल बॉर्डेन का निधन हुआ। वे प्रसिद्ध अमेरिकी सेलिब्रिटी शेफ, लेखक, यात्रा वृत्तचित्रकार थे। उन्होंने अंतरराष्ट्रीय संस्कृति, व्यंजनों और मानवीय स्थिति की खोज पर केंद्रित कार्यक्रमों में प्रदर्शन भी किया।

2022 लंदन, इंग्लैंड में डेम मारिया पाउला फिगुएरोआ रेगो का निधन हुआ जो प्रसि पुर्तगाली-ब्रिटिश दृश्य कलाकार थीं, जिन्हें व्यापक रूप से 20वीं सदी के अंत और 21वीं सदी की शुरुआत की प्रमुख महिला कलाकार माना जाता है। मारिया पाउला फिगुएरोआ रेगो विशेष रूप से कहानियों पर आधारित अपनी नारीवादी पेंटिंग और प्रिंट के लिए जानी जाती हैं। मारिया पाउला फिगुएरोआ रेगो का कलाकर्म पुर्तगाल के लोक-विषयों से रंगा हुआ है।

2023 पूर्व अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प पर वर्गीकृत जानकारी का दुरुपयोग करने के संघीय आरोप लगाए गए। इसी दिन हरियाणा पुलिस ने विदेशी नागरिकों को तकनीकी सहायता देने के नाम पर धोखाधड़ी से ठगी करने वाले गुड़गांव के एक फर्जी कॉल सेंटर का पर्दाफाश किया है। कॉल सेंटर का मालिक 3 महिलाओं समेत 14 आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है। पुलिस के अनुसार थाना साइबर पूर्व की टीम को सूचना मिली थी कि यूनिवर्सल ट्रेड टावर सेक्टर-49 में अवैध तरीके से कॉल सेंटर संचालित करके वहां से विदेशी नागरिकों को कस्टमर सर्विस देने के नाम पर धोखाधड़ी से ठगी की जाती थी। इस पर एसीपी साइबर अपराध विपिन अहलावत के नेतृत्व में पुलिस टीम का गठन किया गया और कॉल सेंटर पर छापेमारी की। पता चला कि कॉल सेंटर को फर्जी व अवैध तरीके से चलाया जा रहा था और विदेशी नागरिकों को तकनीकी सहायता देने के नाम पर धोखाधड़ी की जाती थी। पकड़े गये आरोपियों की पहचान आदित्य (संचालक), अंकित चड्डा, आकाश सेन, सूरज मिश्रा, आयुष सक्सेना, हेमंत शर्मा, संजीव शुक्ला, अजय कुमार, आशुतोष शर्मा, पंकज कुमार, तुषार कुमार तथा आरोपी महिला राजदीपा दास गुप्ता उर्फ जेनी, देविका पुरानदे व मनीषा के रूप में हुई है। पुलिस टीम द्वारा आरोपियों के खिलाफ विभिन्न धाराओं के खिलाफ केस दर्ज किया गया है। पुलिस ने बताया कि कॉल सेंटर के संचालक आदित्य सिंह ने 13 कर्मचारी नियुक्त कर रखे थे जिन्हें सेलरी और कमीशन दिया जाता था। कॉल सेंटर के संचालक आदित्य सिंह ने बताया कि वह और उसके सभी साथी आरोपी रीयल पीबीएक्स डेलर के माध्यम से टोल फ्री नम्बर पर आने वाली कॉल को सुनते थे। विभिन्न तरीकों से विदेशी नागरिकों के पास अमेजन, पेपल, ईबे, जेल्ले, कैश ऐप आदि का ऑर्डर लेने के बाद ऑर्डर कैंसिल करने की बातें कहकर उनके लिए समस्या पैदा करते थे। पुलिस के अनुसार बाद में उसी समस्या को दूर करने के नाम पर उनके साथ ठगी करते थे। पुलिस को पूछताछ में यह भी पता चला कि यह ठग ये ठगी करने के बाद टोल फ्री नंबर को भी बदल देते थे।
