1913 साचिन, गुजरात के नवाब सीदी इब्राहिम मोहम्मद याकूत खान तृतीय की बेटी नाज़्मा का जन्म हुआ। नाज़्मा 1928 से 1969 तक हिंदी उर्दू की महत्वपूर्ण अभिनेत्री हुईं और विख्यात फिल्मकार सोहराब मोदी की पत्नी थीं। नाज़्मा को मेहताब नाम से जाना जाता है। इनका इंतकाल 10 मई 1997 को मुंबई में हुआ। 1953 में आई सोहराब मोदी की बहुचर्चित फिल्म झांसी की रानी में मेहताब ने लक्ष्मीबाई की भूमिका निभाई और अनेक फिल्मों में अपने शानदार अभिनय से ख्याति अर्जित की।

1914 अमेरिका में वेस्ट वर्जीनिया के एस्सेल्स इलाके में एक कोयला खदान हादसे में 181 लोगों की मौत हुई।

1916 बीजी तिलक ने भारतीय गृह नियम लीग की स्थापना की। 1916 प्रसिद्ध स्पोटर््स कार लेम्बोर्गिनी सृजित करने वाले इटालियन व्यवसायी फेरुशियो लेम्बोर्गिनी का जन्म हुआ।

1923 पहला वेंबली स्टेडियम वेम्बली, लंदन में एक फुटबॉल स्टेडियम खोला गया। नया वेंबली स्टेडियम उसी स्थान पर जो पुराने वॉटकिन्स टॉवर का का हिस्सा था। पहले स्टेडियम की मालिक कंपनी वेंबली थी। नवनिर्मित वेंबली स्टेडियम को 9 मार्च 2007 को खोला गया।

1924 जांबिया के पहले राष्ट्रपति केनेथ कौंडा का जन्म हुआ।

1929 भारतीय फिल्मों की प्रसिद्ध पोशाक डिजाइनर भानु अथैया का जन्म कोल्हापुर में हुआ।

1932 इंसानों के लिए पीत ज्वर या पीला बुखार का टीका विकसित करने की घोषणा की गई।

1935 रूस की राजधानी मास्को में अंडरग्राउंड मेट्रो ट्रेन की शुरुआत हुई।

1937 सद्दाम हुसैन का जन्म हुआ जो बाद में इराक के राष्ट्रपति बने और दुनिया के सर्वाधिक चर्चित राजनेता बने। 2003 में अमेरिका ने इराक पर कब्जा कर सद्दाम को एक फर्जी मुकदमे के आधार पर दिसंबर 2006 में फांसी दे दी।

1941 फिलाडेल्फिया, पेंसिल्वेनिया, अमेरिका में कार्ल बैरी शार्पलेस (जन्म 28 अप्रैल, 1941) एक अमेरिकी स्टीरियोकेमिस्ट हैं। वह रसायन विज्ञान में दो बार नोबेल पुरस्कार विजेता हैं, जो स्टीरियोसेलेक्टिव प्रतिक्रियाओं और क्लिक रसायन विज्ञान पर अपने काम के लिए जाने जाते हैं।

1943 जापान जाते हुए सुभाष चंद्र बोस जर्मनी से मेडागास्कर के करीब जर्मन पनडुब्बी से जापानी पनडुब्बी में सवार हुए।

1945 इटली के तानाशाह बेनिटो मुसोलिनी, उसकी प्रेमिका क्लेरिटा पिटाची और उनके 16 सहयोगियो को मुसोलिनी विरोधी सैनिकों ने गोलियों से खुलेआम छलनी कर दिया। मुसोलिनी बेहद बर्बर था, उसने सरे आम हजारों लोगों को मरवाया था। मुसोलिनी क्लेरिटा के शवों को लोगों ने गोलियां मारीं, हजारों लोगों की भीड़ के बीच एक महिला ने अपना स्कर्ट उठाकर मुसोलिनी के मुहं पर पेशाब किया, मुंह में मरा चूहा डाला, डंडे मारे और लाश उल्टी लटकाकर चौराहे में रखी गई। क्लेरिटा पिटाची का शव उलटा किया गया तो उसने नीचे कच्छी नहीं पहन रखी थी। वह गले तक नंगी हो गई। लोगों ने उस पर भी थूका। मुसोलिनी लच्छेदार भाषण देकर नेता बन गया था और फिर उसने फसिस्ट पार्टी बनाकर सत्ता पर कब्जा कर लिया। उसने हजारों लोगों को मरवाया। उसके जनविरोधी, दमनकारी कार्यों से जनता त्राहि-त्राहि कर उठी। उसने खुद यह कहा था कि जब मैं गलत साबित हो जाऊं तो मुझे सरे आम गोली मार देना। लेकिन अपने अंतिम समय में वह अपना कथन त्याग कर, हुलिया बदलकर स्विटजरलैंड भाग रहा था। सीमा के करीब उसे सहयोगियों के साथ मारा गया और बोरियों की तरह उनके शव ट्रक में डालकर इटली के शहर मिलान के एक चौराहे पर लुढ़काए गये। माना जाता है कि इतनी बेइज्जती से उसका दोस्त जर्मन तानाशाह एडोल्फ हिटलर कांप उठा और उसने आत्महत्या करने का मन बनाया उसने सिर्फ तीसरे 30 अप्रैल 1945 की रात आत्महत्या कर ली थी। 

1955 प्रख्यात भारतीय उद्योगपति और ऑटोमोबाइल क्षेत्र के अग्रणी उद्यमी टी. वी. सुन्दरम अयंगर का निधन हुआ।

1956 फ्रांस के आखिरी सैनिक ने वियतनाम छोड़ स्वदेश वापसी की।

1958 भारत के प्रसिद्ध सर्जन, भारत का पहला सफल हृदय प्रत्यारोपण करने वाले जोसफ चाको पेरियाप्पुरम का जनम केरल में हुआ।

1964 जापान आर्थिक सहयोग और विकास संगठन (ओईसीडी) में शामिल हुआ।

1965 डोमिनिका में गृह युद्ध शुरू होने के चार दिन बाद अमेरिका ने आक्रमण कर विद्रोह कुचल दिया, अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति लिंडन जॉनसन को आशंका थी कि ग्रह युद्ध में कहीं जनवादी सत्ता पर कब्जा कर दूसरी क्यूबाई क्रांति न कर डालें।

1967 जानी मानी खूबसूरत, बोल्ड मराठी और हिंदी फिल्म अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल मेधा माजरेकर का जन्म बंबई में हुआ। यह प्रसिद्ध फिल्मकार, लेखक महेश माजरेकर की पत्नी हैं।

1969 फ्रांस के राष्ट्रपति चार्ल्स डी गॉल ने अपने पद से इस्तीफा दिया।

1971 हिंदी फिल्म निर्देशक और पटकथा लेखक निखिल आडवाणी का जन्म हुआ।

1977 जर्मनी में रेड आर्मी गुट का मुकदमा समाप्त हुआ, जिसमें एंड्रियास बाडर, गुडरून एन्स्लिन और जान-कार्ल रास्पे को हत्या के चार मामलों और हत्या के प्रयास के 30 से अधिक मामलों में दोषी पाया गया।

1978 कम्युनिस्ट समर्थक विद्रोहियों के नेतृत्व में हुए तख्तापलट में अफगानिस्तान के राष्ट्रपति मोहम्मद दाउद खान को अपदस्थ कर दिया गया और उनकी हत्या कर दी गई।

1979 जाने माने फिल्म एवं टेलीविजन अभिनेता, एंकर शर्मन जोशी का जन्म हुआ।

1981 अपना दल पार्टी की नेता अनुप्रिया पटेल का जन्म कानपुर में हुआ।

1982 भारतीय बांग्ला सिनेमा में जाने माने रंजीत मल्लिक और दीपा मल्लिक की बेटी कोएल मल्लिक का जन्म हुआ। कोएल जानी मानी अभिनेत्री और माॅडल हैं।

1983 बाॅलीवुड फिल्मों की जानी मानी संगीत निर्देशक स्नेहा खानविलकर का जन्म इंदौर में हुआ। इसी दिन जाने माने भारतीय फुटबाल खिलाड़ी पप्पाचेन प्रदीप का जन्म केरल में हुआ।

1986 बोल्ड, खूबसूरत, कोरियाई-अमेरिकी अभिनेत्री, गायिका और नर्तकी जेना उशकोविट्ज का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन सोवियत संघ ने चेरनोबिल में परमाणु दुर्घटना के दो दिन बाद आधिकारिक रूप से यह स्वीकार किया कि 25 अप्रैल को यूक्रेन स्थित चेरनोबिल परमाणु संयंत्र में परमाणु रिसाव हुआ था।

1987 दक्षिण भारतीय सिनेमा की चर्चित अभिनेत्री सामंथा रुथ प्रभु का जन्म मद्रास में हुआ।

1988 सुहासी धामी के नाम से सुपरिचिति खूबसूरत, बोल्ड टेलीविजन, फिल्म अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल सुहासी गोराडिया का जन्म बंबई में हुआ। इसी दिन एक विख्यात ब्रिटिश उद्यम प्रबंधक, उद्यमी लार्ड फेनर ब्रोक्वे का निधन हुआ। उन्होंने भारत में सार्वजनिक उद्यमों को स्थापित कराने, प्रबंधन आदि में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया, इस योगदान के कारण उन्हें पद्म भूषण से सम्मानित किया गया।

1990 तमिल फिल्मों एवं टेलीविजन की जानी मानी, खूबसूरत बोल्ड कलाकार एवं माॅडल प्रियंका देशपाडे का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन जानी मानी भारतीय मुक्केबाज पिंकी जांगड़ा जन्म हिसार, हरियाणा में हुआ। इसी दिन जाने माने भारतीय फिल्म पटकथा लेखक और निर्देशक बसील जोसफ का जन्म हुआ।

1991 जानी मानी तेलुगू, दक्षिण भारतीय फिल्म अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल विदिशा श्रीवास्तव का जन्म बनारस में हुआ।

1992 कन्नड़ भाषा के प्रमुख साहित्यकार साहित्य अकादमी और ज्ञानपीठ पुरसकार प्राप्त विनायक कृष्ण गोकाक का निधन हुआ।

1993 जांबिया का एक विमान गेबोन के लिबरविले में दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गया जिसमें सवार 30 फुटबाल खिलाड़ियों की मौत हो गई।

1995 दक्षिण कोरिया में मेट्रो में हुए गैस विस्फोट में 103 की मौत हुई। 1995 में इसी दिन श्रीलंका के पलाली में विमान दुर्घटना में 52 यात्रियों की मौत हुई।

1996 आस्ट्रेलिया के बंदूकधारी मार्टिन ब्रायंट ने तस्मानिया के पोर्ट आर्थर इलाके में गोलियां बरसाकर 35 लोगों की जान ले ली। उस समय इसे देश के इतिहास की गोलीबारी की भीषणतम घटना बताया गया, जिसके बाद शस्त्र नियमों को कड़ा किया गया।

1999 एक अमेरिकी वैज्ञानिक डॉक्टर रिचर्ड सीड ने एक वर्ष के भीतर मानव क्लोन बनाने की घोषणा की, इसी दिन दुनिया भर के हजारों कम्प्यूटरों को चेर्नोबिल वायरस ने ठप्प कर दिया।

2001 अमेरिकी बिजनेसमैन डेनिस टीटो पहले अंतरिक्ष पर्यटक बने। उन्होंने छह दिन की अंतरिक्ष यात्रा के लिए करीब दो करोड़ डॉलर की रकम अदा की। 

2002 बुकर पुरस्कार का नया नाम मैन प्राइज फार फिक्शन रखा गया। इसी दिन पाकिस्तान के सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने राष्ट्रपति परवेज मुशर्रफ के जनमत संग्रह को वैध ठहराया।

2003 दुनिया भर में कर्मचारी सुरक्षा और स्वास्थ्य दिवस मनाया गया। इस दिन कार्यस्थल पर मारे गये श्रमिकों को याद किया जाता है और यह काम पर सुरक्षा और स्वास्थ्य के लिए सुरक्षित, स्वस्थ और सभ्य काम को बढ़ावा देने के लिए एक वार्षिक अंतरराष्ट्रीय अभियान है। यह संयुक्त राष्ट्र की एजेंसी अंतर्राष्ट्रीय श्रम संगठन (आईएलओ के नेतृत्व में मनाया जाता है। नियोक्ताओं को जागरूक किया जाता है कि वे अपने कार्मिकों को बेहतर, सुरक्षित, स्वस्थ स्थितियां उपलब्ध कराएं। 2003 में इसी दिन ऐपल ने आईटयून्स स्टोर की शुरुआत की, जिससे उपभोक्ता इंटरनेट से संगीत सीधे अपने फोन पर डाउनलोड कर सकते थे।

2004 थांबो म्बेकी ने दक्षिण अफ्रीका के राष्ट्रपति पद की शपथ ली। इसी दिन सीबीएस न्यूज ने अबू गरीब यातना और कैदी दुर्व्यवहार के सबूत जारी किए। तस्वीरों में अमेरिकी सैनिकों द्वारा इराकी बंदियों के साथ बलात्कार और दुर्व्यवहार को दिखाया गया।

2007 श्रीलंका को हराकर ऑस्ट्रेलिया चाौथी बार विश्व चैंपियन बना।

2008 भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन इसरो ने पीएसएलवी-सी 9 उपग्रह एक साथ प्रक्षेपित किये। इसी दिन पाकिस्तान की प्रधानमंत्री रहीं बेनजीर भुट्टो को मरणोपरांत टिपरी इंटरनेशनल अवार्ड दिया गया।

2014 लंदन स्थित हीथ्रो हवाई अड्डे से दुनिया के सर्वाधिक व्यस्ततम अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे का स्थान छीन लिया गया और इसकी जगह दुबई अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे ने ली। इसी दिन फेसबुक ने पहली तिमाही के मुनाफे की घोषणा की जो 642 मिलियन थी और ये 2013 की पहली तिमाही के मुनाफे से 3 गुणा अधिक थी।

2020 भारत में कोरोना संक्रमण से मरने वालों की संख्या 937 हुई और कोरोना संक्रमितों की संख्या 29,974 पार हुई।

2021 कोरोना वायरस संक्रमण के देश में एक दिन में रिकॉर्ड 3,60,960 नये मामले सामने आए और कुल मामले 1,79,9,267 पर पहुंचे। आधिकाारिक रूप से मरने वालों की संख्या दो लाख अधिक बताई गई। हालांकि खबरें बहुत भयावह थीं, आॅक्सीजन, अस्पतालों, जरूरी चिकित्सा सुविधाओं, स्टाफ आदि का घोर अभाव था। श्मशानों में अंत्येष्टि के लिए लंबी लाइनें लगी थीं। सरकार ने चेतावनियों के बावजूद कोई इंतजाम नहीं किये थे, फरवरी मार्च में केंद्र सरकार का पूरा तंत्र पश्चिम बंगाल चुनाव जीतने को जी-तोड़ मेहनत कर रहा था तो उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री आदित्यनाथ बंगाल में प्रचार और यूपी में पंचायत चुनाव कराने में व्यस्त थे। अमेरिकी अखबार द न्यूयाॅर्क टाइम्स ने भारत में विभिन्न स्रोतों से जानकारी के आधार पर मरने वालों की संख्या 40 लाख से अधिक बताई थी।

1945 Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, his girlfriend Clarita Pittacchi and 16 of their colleagues were openly shot by anti-Mussolini soldiers. Mussolini was very barbaric, he had thousands of people killed. The bodies of Mussolini Clarita were shot by people, amidst a crowd of thousands of people, a woman lifted her skirt and urinated on Mussolini's mouth, put a dead rat in her mouth, beat him with sticks and the body was kept upside down in the square. When Clarita Pitacchi's body was turned upside down, she was not wearing panties underneath. She became naked till her neck. People spit on him too. Mussolini became a leader by giving eloquent speeches and then he captured power by forming the Fascist Party. He got thousands of people killed. The public was horrified by his anti-people and oppressive actions. He himself had said that when I am proved wrong then shoot me in public. But in his last moments, he renounced his statement and changed his appearance and was running away to Switzerland. He was killed along with his colleagues near the border and their bodies, like sacks, were put into a truck and rolled to a crossroads in the Italian city of Milan. It is believed that his friend German dictator Adolf Hitler trembled at such an insult and he thought of committing suicide. He committed suicide on the night of 30th April 1945.
