1927 विख्यात भारतीय वीणा वादक सुंदरम बालचंद्रन का जन्म हुआ।

1930 गुरुदेव रबींद्रनाथ टैगोर ने राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गांधी के साबरमती आश्रम की यात्रा की।

1933 भारत के 27वें प्रधान न्यायाधीश हुए और बाद में मानवाधिकार आयोग के अध्यक्ष भी रहे न्यायमूर्ति जगदीश शरण वर्मा का सतना मध्य प्रदेश में जन्म हुआ।

1935 कांग्रेस के एक प्रभावशाली राजनेता एवं उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री रहे वीर बहादुर सिंह का गोरखपुर में जन्म हुआ।

1936 फिट्ज्रोविया, लंदन, इंग्लैंड में जोसेफ रुडयार्ड किपलिंग (मालाबार हिल, बॉम्बे प्रेसीडेंसी, ब्रिटिश भारत में जन्म 30 दिसंबर 1865) का निधन हुआ। भारत और इंग्लैंड में उनका नाम बहुत सम्मान से लिया जाता है। अंग्रेजी उपन्यासकार, लघु-कथा लेखक, कवि, पत्रकार और चिंतक थे।

1942 बीसवीं सदी के विश्व विख्यात अमेरिकन मुक्केबाज, स्पोर्ट्समैन आॅफ द सेंचुरी, पर्सनेलिटी आॅफ द सेंचुरी मुहम्मद अली का लुइसविले, केंटुकी में जन्म हुआ।

1943 जाने माने भारतीय सैन्य अधिकारी एयर चीफ मार्शल श्रीनिवासपुरम कृष्णास्वामी का जन्म मद्रास में हुआ।

1945 सोवियत संघ की सेना पोलैंड के शहर कराकोव पहुंची तथा जर्मन सेना को वहां से पीछे हटने पर मजबूर किया। इसी दिन कर्नाटक के प्रसिद्ध धर्मगुरु, पद्मविभूषण सम्मान प्राप्त बालगंगाधरनाथ स्वामी का जन्म हुआ। 

1947 भारतीय सिनेमा के शुरुआती दौर के प्रसिद्ध गायक और अभिनेता, सिनेमा को लोकप्रिय बनाने में अहम योगदान देने वाले कुंदन लाल सहगल का निधन जालंधर में हुआ।

1951 भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा के अफसर, दिल्ली के उप राज्यपाल और जामिया मिल्लिया इस्लामिया के कुलपति रहे नजीब जंग का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन झूठ पकड़ने वाली मशीन का नीदरलैंड में पहली बार इस्तेमाल हुआ। हालांकि कोई मशीन आज तक पक्के तौर पर झूठ सच का पता नहीं बता सकी।

1952 वीरप्पन के नाम से कुख्यात चंदन तस्कर कहे गये कूज मुनिस्वामी वीरप्पन का जन्म कर्नाटक के गांव गोपिनाथम में हुआ था। इसी दिन 1952 में मिस्र में ब्रिटेन के खिलाफ दंगे भड़के।

1954 भारत के जाने माने फिल्म एवं फैशन फोटोग्राफर जगदीश माली का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन इटली में फनफानी ने सरकार का गठन किया।

1955 पंजाब के समराला में मशहूर पाकिस्तानी-भारतीय उर्दू कवि, लेखक, नाटककार और कथाकार सआदत हसन मंटो का निधन लाहौर में हुआ।

1958 बोस्टन कनाडा के अफ्रीकी कनाडाई विली ओश्री ने नेशनल हॉकी लीग में अपना पहला खेल खेला, जिससे पेशेवर आइस हॉकी में रंगभेद को तोड़ा।

1959 हरियाणा में कुरुक्षेत्र स्थित गुरुकुल के प्रधानाचार्य रहे, भाजपा नेता और पंजाब के राज्यपाल आचार्य देवव्रत का जन्म समालखा में हुआ। इसी दिन राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गांधी की सहयोगी मीरा बेन (मैडलिन स्लैड) ने भारत छोडा।

1960 जापान तथा अमेरिका ने संयुक्त रक्षा समझौता किया।

1962 अमेरिका ने नेवादा में परमाणु परीक्षण किया।

1963 यूरोपीय साझा बाजार से ब्रिटेन को अलग करने की फ्रांस ने वकालत की। इसी दिन पूर्वी कजाखस्तान में सोवियत संघ ने परमाणु परीक्षण किया। 1963 में इसी दिन उड़ीसा के सार्वजनिक कार्यकर्ता और समाजसेवी लक्ष्मी नारायण साहू का निधन हुआ।

1964 न्यूयॉर्क सिटी में वर्ल्ड ट्रेड सेंटर का निर्माण करने की योजना की घोषणा की गई।

1966 महाराष्ट्र के जाने माने राजनेता और मराठी फिल्म तथा टेलीविजन कलाकार आदेश बंदेकर का जन्म अलीबाग में हुआ। इसी दिन भारत के प्रसिद्ध गणितज्ञ बद्रीनाथ प्रसाद का निधन हुआ। इसी दिन केरल के विवादास्पद धार्मिक, राजनीतिक, इस्लामिक धर्मगुरु और पीपुल्स डेमोक्रेटिक पार्टी नेता अब्दुल नसर महदानी का जन्म सस्टमकोट्टा में हुआ।

1972 प्रसिद्ध क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी विनोद कांबली का जन्म हुआ।

1973 अमेरिका और उत्तर वियतनाम में शांति समझौते का पाठ तैयार करने के लिए वार्ताकारों की बैठक शीघ्र होने की घोषणा की गई।

1974 मिस्र एवं इजरायल ने हथियारों का समझौता किया।

1975 जानी मानी, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड फिल्म अभिनेत्री, माॅडल और टेलीविजन प्रस्तोता मोनिका बेदी का पंजाब के होशियारपुर जिले के छब्बेवाल में जन्म हुआ।

1976 प्रसिद्ध पंजाबी साहित्यकार और राजनीतिज्ञ ज्ञानी गुरमुख सिंह मुसाफिर का निधन हुआ। इसी दिन जासूसी के आरोप में फ्रांस ने 40 सोवियत अधिकारियों को देश से निष्कासित किया।

1978 सात बार राष्ट्रीय चैंपियन रहीं प्रख्यात बैडमिंटन खिलाड़ी अपर्णा पोपट का बंबई में जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन प्रसिद्ध स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, राजनेता और सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता भीम सेन सच्चर का निधन हुआ।

1981 जानी मानी लावनी और कत्थक कलाकार अदिति भागवत का जन्म हुआ। 1981 में इसी दिन फिल स्मिथ और फिल मेफील्ड ने अमेरिका स्थित ह्यूस्टन की गगनचुंबी इमारत से पैराशूट से छलांग लगाई, और सभी चार श्रेणियोंरू इमारतों, एंटीना, स्पैन (पुल), और पृथ्वी (चट्टानों) में वस्तुओं से बेस जंप करने वाले पहले दो व्यक्ति बन गए।

1985 बचना ऐ हसीनों, हनीमून ट्रैवल प्रा. लि., वेल डन अब्बा और भेजा फ्राई जैसी तमाम चर्चित फिल्मों की खूबसूरत, बोल्ड, लोकप्रिय अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल मिनीषा लांबा का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ।

1987 लंदन में प्रचार माध्यमों के 40 देशों के प्रतिनिधियों की हुई बैठक में सेंसरशिप के खिलाफ एकजुट होकर संघर्ष की घोषणा की गई।

1989 जानी मानी, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड बांग्ला फिल्म और टेलीविजन अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल रिद्धिमा घोष का जन्म कोलकाता में हुआ और इसी दिन आजादी, सच्चाई और मानवाधिकार के समर्थन में चेकोस्लोवाकिया में करोड़ों लोगों ने प्रदर्शन किया।

1991 ईस्टर्न एयरलाइन को आर्थिक कारणों से बंद कर दिया गया था।

1993 जानी मानी, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड भारतीय सिनेमा और टेलीविजन की अभिनेत्री, माॅडल और रियलिटी शो कलाकार अनीशा बट्ट का जन्म लंदन में हुआ।

1995 याहू डॉट कॉम का डोमेन बनाया गया था।

1996 दक्षिण भारत के प्रमुख अभिनेता और राजनीतिज्ञ, मुख्यमंत्री हुए नंदमुरि तारक यानी एनटी रामाराव का निधन हुआ।

1997 भारत की सुंदरी नफीसा जोसेफ फेमिना मिस इंडिया यूनिवर्स बनीं। नफीसा भारत की प्रमुख माॅडल, एमटीवी वीडियो जाॅकी और रियलिटी शो प्रस्तोता हैं।

2002 संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका भारत को अत्याधुनिक हथियार देने को राजी हुआ, दिल्ली में कॉलिन पावेल ने कहा कि पाक आतंकवादियों की सूची पर कार्रवाई करे तभी भारत वार्ता करेगा। इसी दिन पश्चिम अफ्रीकी देश सियरा लियोन में गृह युद्ध समाप्त हुआ। पश्चिम अफ्रीकी देश सियरा लियोन में 2002 में इसी दिन गृह युद्ध समाप्त हुआ।

2003 लीबिया संयुक्त राष्ट्र मानवाधिकार आयोग का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त। 2003 में इसी दिन प्रसिद्ध लेखक और कवि हरिवंशराय बच्चन का निधन हुआ।

2004 क्रिकेट की एकदिवसीय शृंखला में भारत ने आस्ट्रेलिया को 19 रनों से हराया।

2005 भारत के सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने सांसदों को पेट्रोल पंप आवंटित नहीं करने की सिफारिश की। इसी दिन तीन कैरेबियाई देशों त्रिनिदाद-टोबेगो, ग्रेनेडा, सेंट विसेंट व ग्रेंडाइस के प्रधानमंत्रियों ने साथ मिलकर राजनीतिक एकीकरण का प्रस्ताव रखा।

2006 इच्छा मृत्यु पर संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने मुहर लगायी।

2007 दुनिया की सबसे वृद्ध महिला जूली विनफ्रेड बर्टरंड का कनाडा में निधन हुआ। इसी दिन ब्रिटेन, जर्मनी, पश्चिमी यूरोप में तूफान से भारी तबाही हुई। यूनाइटेड किंगडम में 17 वर्षों में आए सबसे तेज तूफान में 14 लोगों की मौत हो गई और जर्मनी में 1999 के बाद से 13 मौतों के साथ सबसे भीषण तूफान आया। चक्रवात किरिल के कारण पश्चिमी यूरोप के 20 देशों में कम से कम 44 मौतें हुईं।

2008 जॉर्ज क्लूने संयुक्त राष्ट्र के शांतिदूत बनाये गये। 2008 में इसी दिन ॉस एंजिल्स, कैलिफोर्निया में अमेरिकी व्यवसायी, खिलाड़ी, मनोरंजनकर्ता परोपकारी जॉर्जिया फ्रंटियर (जन्म 21 नवंबर, 1927) का निधन हुआ।

2009 भारत के दूसरे प्रशासनिक सुधार आयोग ने अपनी सिफारिशें केंद्र सरकार को प्रस्तुत कीं और इसी दिन बंगाल क्रिकेट एसोसिएशन ने सौरव गांगुली को सोने के बैट से सम्मानित किया।

2013 तीसरी कसम, दीवार, पड़ोसन जैसी तमाम फिल्मों में काम करने वाली बाॅलीवुड भारतीय हिंदी सिनेमा की जानी मानी अभिनेत्री दुलारी का निधन पुणे में हुआ।

2014 ब्रिस्टल के 16 वर्षीय लुईस क्लार्क ने संयुक्त राज्य में एक नया विश्व रिकॉर्ड बनाया और उत्तरी ध्रुव पर कदम रखने वाले सबसे कम उम्र के व्यक्ति बन गए।

2018 कजाकिस्तान के अकोतोबे के यर्गिज जिले में समारा-श्यमकेंट रोड पर एक बस में आग लग गई जिससे 52 यात्रियों की मौत हो गई।

2019 - मेक्सिको के हिडाल्गो के त्लाहुएलिलपन के पास एक तेल पाइपलाइन विस्फोट में 137 लोग मारे गए।

2020 भाजपा नेता, झारखंड के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री अर्जुन मुंडा भारतीय तीरंदाजी संघ (एएआई) के नए अध्यक्ष चुने गये। उन्होंने विपक्ष के बीवीपी राव को 34-18 मतों के अंतर से हराया।

2023 टोक्यो ओलंपिक कांस्य पदक विजेता बजरंग पूनिया और विश्व चैंपियनशिप पदक विजेता विनेश फोगाट समेत देश के शीर्ष पहलवान भारतीय कुश्ती महासंघ के अध्यक्ष बृजभूषण शरण सिंह के कथित तानाशाही रवैये के खिलाफ बुधवार को धरने पर बैठ गए। वे डब्ल्यूएफआई अध्यक्ष और कैसरगंज से भाजपा सांसद बृजभूषण शरण सिंह के रवैये से तंग आ चुके हैं। बजरंग, विनेश, रियो ओलंपिक पदक विजेता साक्षी मलिक, विश्व चैंपियनशिप पदक विजेता सरिता मोर, संगीता फोगाट, सत्यव्रत मलिक, जितेंद्र किन्हा और राष्ट्रमंडल खेल पदक विजेता सुमित मलिक जंतर मंतर पर धरने पर बैठे 30 पहलवानों में हैं। इसी दिन पौराणिक कथाओं की किताबों के प्रसिद्ध लेखक अमीश त्रिपाठी ने ट्विटर पर घोषणा की कि वह शिवानी से सगाई कर रहे हैं, जिनसे वह लंदन में मिले थे। अमीश लंदन में नेहरू संग्रहालय के निदेशक हैं और उनकी शादी पहले प्रीति व्यास से हुई थी, जो नेशनल ज्योग्राफिक इंडिया के अलावा प्रतिष्ठित कॉमिक पुस्तकों के प्रकाशक अमर चित्र कथा की अध्यक्ष और सीईओ हैं। अमीश ने ट्विटर पर साझा किए अपने दो पेज के निजी बयान में लिखा, मुझे दूसरा मौका दिया गया है - मेरी उम्मीदों से बेहतर। अमीश त्रिपाठी ने आगे लिखा, जैसा कि आप जानते हैं कि मेरा पत्नी से कई सालों से तलाक है और मैं अकेला था। इसी दिन जानी मानी भारतीय अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल जैकलीन फर्नाडीज ने सुकेश चंद्रशेखर से जुड़े 200 करोड़ रुपये की जबरन वसूली के मामले में दिल्ली की एक अदालत से कहा कि चंद्रशेखर ने उनकी भावनाओं के साथ खिलवाड़ किया और उनके जीवन को नरक बना दिया। पटियाला हाउस अदालत में चल रहे मामले में अभिनेत्री ने दावा किया कि सुकेश की सहयोगी पिंकी ईरानी ने खुद को एक सरकारी अधिकारी के रूप में पेश किया और उनसे कहा कि उन्हें कार से सैर कराने ले जा रही है। जैकलीन के कहा, सुकेश ने खुद को सन टीवी के मालिक के रूप में पेश किया था और दावा किया था कि (तमिलनाडु की दिवंगत मुख्यमंत्री) जे. जयललिता उनकी मौसी थीं। जैकलीन ने बताया कि सुकेश ने मुझसे कहा कि वह उनका बड़ा प्रशंसक है और मुझे दक्षिण भारत में भी फिल्में करनी चाहिए। सन टीवी के मालिक के रूप में उसके पास कई प्रोजेक्ट हैं। उसने कहा, हमें दक्षिण भारतीय फिल्मों में एक साथ काम करने की कोशिश करनी चाहिए। 11 अगस्त 1985 को मनामा, बहरीन में जन्मी श्रीलंकाई मूल की भारतीय अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल जैकलीन ने बताया कि सुकेश ने मुझे गुमराह किया, मेरा करियर और मेरी आजीविका बर्बाद कर दी। जैकलीन ने कहा कि उन्हें बाद में पता चला कि उन्हें गृह और कानून मंत्रालयों के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों के खुद पेश करने के लिए एक अपराधी के रूप में गिरफ्तार किया गया था। इसी दिन 2023 में यूक्रेन में हुई एक हेलीकॉप्टर दुर्घटना में देश के आंतरिक मंत्री डेनिस मोनास्टिर्स्की सहित 14 लोगों की मौत हो गई।
