38 ईसा पूर्व ऑक्टेवियन ने अपनी पत्नी स्क्रिबोनिया को तलाक दिया और लिविया ड्रूसिला से शादी। इससे सेकेंड ट्रायमविरेट और सेक्स्टस पोंपी के बीच तनाव पैदा हुआ।

1362 सेंट मार्सेलस में आई भीषण बाढ़ से उत्तरी सागर के तट पर कम से कम 25,000 लोग मारे गये।

1377 एविग्नन से पोप पद को वापस रोम ले जाने का निर्णय लेने के बाद, पोप ग्रेगरी दसवें रोम पहुँचे।

1040 गिरी, गजनवी साम्राज्य में गजनी के मसूद प्रथम (अमीर-ए शहीद, जन्म 998) का निधन हुआ। वह 1030 से 1040 तक गजनवी साम्राज्य का सुल्तान था। वह अपने छोटे जुड़वां भाई मोहम्मद से गजनवी सिंहासन छीनकर सत्ता काबिज हुआ था। मोहम्मद गजनी के महमूद की मृत्यु के बाद उत्तराधिकारी के रूप में नामित किया गया था। मोहम्मद को शीघ्र ही अंधा कर दिया गया और कैद कर लिया गया। जब मसूद के अधिकांश पश्चिमी डोमेन उसके नियंत्रण से छीन लिए गए, तो उसके सैनिकों ने उसके खिलाफ विद्रोह कर दिया और मोहम्मद को सिंहासन पर बहाल कर दिया।

1471 विजय नगर के प्रसिद्ध यदुवंशी सम्राट और तेलुगू भाषा के कवि कृष्णदेवराय का हंपी में जन्म हुआ।

1524 इतालवी खोजकर्ता जियोवान्नी दा वेराजानो ने मेडीरा से पश्चिम की ओर प्रशांत महासागर के लिए एक समुद्री मार्ग की खोज की। जियोवानी फ्रांस के राजा फ्रांसिस प्रथम की सेवा में उत्तरी अमेरिका में तैनात अधिकारी था। वह 1524 में फ्लोरिडा और न्यू ब्रंसविक के बीच उत्तरी अमेरिका के अटलांटिक तट का पता लगाने वाले पहले यूरोपीय के रूप में प्रसिद्ध हैं, जिसमें न्यूयॉर्क खाड़ी और नारगांसेट बे भी शामिल हैं।

1574 मिलगेट हाउस, बियरस्टेड, केंट में रॉबर्ट फ्लड का जन्म हुआ जो रॉबर्टस डी फ्लुक्टिबस (निधन 8 सितंबर 1637) के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। रॉबर्ट फ्लड वैज्ञानिक और गुप्त दोनों रुचियों वाले एक प्रमुख अंग्रेजी पैरासेल्सियन चिकित्सक हुए। इसके साथ ही रॉबर्ट फ्लड ज्योतिषी, गणितज्ञ, ब्रह्मांडविज्ञानी, कबालिस्ट और रोसिक्रुसियन के रूप में याद किया जाता है। फ्यूल्ड को गुप्त दर्शन में उनके संकलनों के लिए खासतौर पर जाना जाता है। उन्होंने ज्ञान के वैज्ञानिक और उपदेशात्मक दृष्टिकोण के संबंध में विख्यात जर्मन खगोलशास्त्री, गणितज्ञ, ज्योतिषी, प्राकृतिक दार्शनिक और लेखक जोहांस केप्लर के साथ विचारों का आदान-प्रदान किया, जो काफी चर्चित हुआ।

1584 मध्य यूरोपीय देश बोहेमिया ने ग्रेगोरियन कैलेंडर अपनाया।

1595 फ्रांस के राजा हेनरी चतुर्थ ने स्पेन के खिलाफ युद्ध की घोषणा की।

1601 मुगल बादशाह अकबर ने असीरगढ़ के अभेद किले में प्रवेश किया। इसी दिन फ्रांस ने स्पेन के साथ समझौता किया जिसके तहत फ्रांस को ब्रीस, बगेस वोल्रोमेय तथा गेक्स क्षेत्र मिला।

1608 इथियोपिया के सम्राट सुसेनियोस प्रथम ने एबेनाट में ओरोमो सेना और लोगों को यह बताकर हैरान कर दिया कि सेना ने उसके 400 लोगों की कीमत पर 12,000 ओरोमो लोगों को मार डाला।

1706 प्रख्यात अमेरिकी लेखक, राजनीतिज्ञ, अमेरिका के संस्थापकों में से प्रमुख व्यक्ति और बहुप्रतिभावान बेंजामिन फ्रेंकलिन का जन्म हुआ।

1718 हिमस्खलन ने ल्यूकरबड, स्विट्जरलैंड में इमारतो को भारी संख्या में नष्ट कर दिया और 53 लोग मारे गए।

1757 प्रशिया के खिलाफ जर्मनी ने युद्ध की घोषणा की।

1852 दक्षिण अफ्रीका के ट्रांसवाल की स्वतंत्रता को ब्रिटेन ने मान्यता दी।

1863 अमेरिकी राज्य वर्जीनिया में गृह युद्ध हुआ। इसी दिन 1863ं में विश्व विख्यात रूसी अभिनेता कोस्तांतिन स्तानिस्लावस्की का जन्म हुआ।

1871 केबल कार सिस्टम के लिए एंडू एस हैलिदी को पेटेंट दिया गया।

1888 प्रसिद्ध हिंदी निबंधकार, व्यंग्यकार और साहित्यकार बाबू गुलाबराय का जन्म हुआ।

1895 फ्रांसीसी राष्ट्रपति कैसिमिर पेरियर ने इस्तीफा दिया।

1903 प्यूर्टो रिको में एल युंके राष्ट्रीय वन, ल्यूक्विलो वन रिजर्व के रूप में संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका की राष्ट्रीय वन प्रणाली का हिस्सा बना।

1905 विख्यात भारतीय गणितज्ञ डीआर कापरेकर का जन्म हुआ।

1908 प्रसिद्ध भारतीय फिल्म निर्माता-निर्देशक तथा अभिनेता एलवी प्रसाद का जन्म हुआ।

1913 पटियाला राजघराने के महाराजा और जाने माने क्रिकेटर यादविंदर सिंह का पटियाला में जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन रेमंड प्वाइनकेयर फ्रांस के राष्ट्रपति चुने गये।

1915 पश्चिमी यूक्रेन और बुकोविना पर रूस ने कब्जा किया।

1917 वर्जिन आइलैंड्स ढाई करोड़ डॉलर में अमेरिका ने खरीदा। 1917 में इसी दिन दक्षिण भारतीय सिनेमा के प्रख्यात अभिनेता तथा राजनेता और लंबे समय मुख्यमंत्री रहे एमजी रामचंद्रन का जन्म हुआ।

1918 पाकीजा, महल और रज़िया सुल्तान जैसी कालजयी फिल्में बनाने वाले मशहूर फिल्म निर्माता-निर्देशक कमाल अमरोही का जन्म अमरोहा जिला मुरादाबाद उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ। यूं इनका नाम सैयद अमीर हैदर कमल नकवी है। 1918 में इसी दिन भारत के जाने-माने अमीर, कारोबारी रूसी मोदी का जन्म हुआ।

1921 जाने माने पाकिस्तानी सैन्य अधिकारी रहे, राजनीतिज्ञ और मानवाधिकार कार्यकर्ता एयर मार्शल असगर खान का जन्म जम्मू में हुआ।

1923 हिंदी कथाकार, साहित्यकार रांगेय राघव का जन्म हुआ।

1930 मैसूर के कृष्ण राजा वाडियार चतुर्थ के दरबार की सम्मानित, प्रमुख गायिका और नर्तकी ‘पैलेस संगीतकार’ और कलकत्ता की प्रमुख थिएटर एवं फिल्म अभिनेत्री, प्रसिद्ध नर्तकी और गायिका एवं तवायफ हुईं गौहर जान (जन्म 26 जून 1873 आज़मगढ़  वास्तविक नाम एंजेलीना येवार्ड, पिता राबर्ट विलियम येवार्ड एवं मां एडलिन विक्टोरिया हेमिंग्स, मूल देश अर्मेनिया) का निधन हुआ। गौहर जान 78आरपीएम रिकॉर्ड पर संगीत रिकॉर्ड करने वाली भारत की पहली कलाकार थीं जिसे ग्रामोफोन रिकॉर्ड पर ग्रामोफोन कंपनी आफ इंडिया ने जारी किया। उन्होंने 1902 से 1920 के बीच दस से अधिक भाषाओं में 600 से अधिक गाने रिकॉर्ड कराए। ग्रामोफोन गर्ल और भारत की पहली रिकॉर्डिंग सुपरस्टार गौहर जान को कहा गया। ठुमरी, दादरा, कजरी और तराना जैसे हिंदुस्तानी शास्त्रीय संगीत को लोकप्रिय बनाने का श्रेय दिया जाता है। इसी दिन अंतरराष्ट्रीय अंग्रेजी पत्रिका रीडर्स डाइजेस्ट के हिंदी संस्करण सर्वोत्तम के प्रथम संपादक अरविंद कुमार का जन्म हुआ।

1932 जय संतोषी मा जैसी तमाम लोकप्रिय फिल्मों की अभिनेत्री अनीता गुहा का जन्म हुआ।

1941 स्वतंत्रता सेनानी नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस कलकत्ता से जर्मनी के लिए रवाना हुए। 1941 में इसी दिन प्रसिद्ध हिंदी लेखक महावीर सरन जैन का जन्म हुआ।

1942 पूर्व हैवीवेट चैंपियन अमेरिकी बॉक्सर मोहम्मद अली का जन्म हुआ।

1943 द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के मध्य ब्रिटिश प्रधानमंत्री विंस्टन चर्चिल और अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति फ्रैंकलिन डेलानो रूसवेल्ट की मोरक्को में मुलाकात हुई।

1945 द्वितीय विश्वयुद्ध की समाप्ति के दिनों में सोवियत सेना का पोलैंड की राजधानी वारसा में आगमन हुआ। 1945 में इसी दिन मशहूर हिंदी फिल्मी गीतकार एवं पटकथा लेखक जावेद अख्तर का जन्म हुआ।

1946 संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद की पहली बैठक हुई।

1948 नीदरलैंड और इंडोनेशिया संघर्ष विराम पर सहमत हुए।

1949 जर्मन कार निर्माता कंपनी फॉक्सवैगन की पहली बीटल कार अमेरिका पहुँची। क्योंकि 1945 में द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध समाप्त होने के बाद संबंध सामान्य होने में लंबा वक्त लगा।

1950 बाॅलीवुड की प्रमुख हस्तियों में से एक अभिनेत्री और पटकथाकार हनी ईरानी का बंबई में जन्म हुआ।

1951 जाने माने असमिया फिल्म निर्माता, साहित्यकार एवं स्वतंत्रता सेनानी ज्योति प्रसाद अग्रवाल का निधन हुआ।

1960 जाने माने लेखक, पत्रकार और राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गांधी के पौत्र तुषार गांधी (पुत्र श्री अरुण मणीलाल गांधी) का शेगांव, महाराष्ट्र में जन्म हुआ।

1961 जनवादी कोंगो के प्रधानमंत्री पेट्रिस लुमुंबा की देश के नये सैन्य शासकों ने हत्या कर दी।

1962 जानी माने फिल्म अभिनेता शशि कपूर के बेटे सुपरिचित अभिनेता, फोटोग्राफर और एवं माॅडल करन कपूर का बंबई में जन्म हुआ।

1973 जाने माने फिल्म एवं टेलीविजन अभिनेता नितेश पांडेय का जन्म हुआ।

1976 हरमस रॉकेट को यूरोपीय स्पेस एजेंसी ने लांच किया।

1980 फ्लाटसटकोम-3 नासा ने लांच किया।

1985 जानी मानी खूबसूरत और बोल्ड फिल्म और टेलीविजन अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल रसिका दुग्गल का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन 1985 में इंगलैंड के खिलाफ भारतीय क्रिकेटर मोहम्मद अजहरुद्दीन ने दूसरा टेस्ट शतक लगाया।

1987 टाटा समूह की टाटा फुटबॉल अकादमी खुली।

1989 उत्तरी ध्रुव पर पहुंचने वाले कर्नल जेके बजाज पहले भारतीय बने।

1991 जानी मानी खूबसूरत और बोल्ड माॅडल और फिल्म अभिनेत्री दिशा पांडेय का जन्म हुआ।

1992 दक्षिण कोरिया की यात्रा के दौरान, जापानी प्रधानमंत्री किइची मियाजावा ने द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के दौरान कोरियाई महिलाओं को यौन गुलामी के लिए मजबूर करने के लिए माफी मांगी।

1993 जाने माने सिनेमाटोग्राफर, बाॅलीवुड फिल्म एवं टेलीविजन अभिनेता तथा संगीतकार और माॅडल तपस्वी मेहता का जन्म मुंबई में हुआ।

1995 जापान के कोबे शहर में आए जबरदस्त भूकंप के कारण बहुत से लोग मारे गए।

1996 यूरोपीय संघ का सदस्य बनने के लिए चेक गणराज्य ने आवेदन किया।

1997 अमेरिका के केप कैनावेरल स्थित वायु सेना स्टेशन जीपीएस आईआईआर-1 उपग्रह ले जाने वाला एक डेल्टा द्वितीय लॉन्च के 13 सेकंड बाद फट गया, जिससे लॉन्च पैड के आसपास 250 टन वजनी जलता हुआ रॉकेट गिर गया।

1998 मैट ड्रज ने अपनी ड्रज रिपोर्ट वेबसाइट पर अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति बिल क्लिंटन एवं उनके अधीन इंटर्न मोनिका लेविंस्की अवैध यौन संबंधों की कहानी बताई।

2002 अमेरिकी विदेश मंत्री कॉलिन पावेल भारत पहुँचे और आतंकवाद के मुद्दे पर भारत के रुख का समर्थन किया।

2007 आस्ट्रेलिया के क्रिकेटर माइकल बेवन ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट से सन्यास लिया।

2008 भारत सरकार ने विकलांगों को नौकरियां देने के लिए 1800 करोड़ रुपये की एक योजना को मंजूरी प्रदान की। इसी दिन मेडागास्कर में हिंद महासागर के ताड़ के पेड़ की नई प्रजाति मिली।

2009 भारतीय ओलंपिक संघ के महासचिव रणधीरसिंह ने अपने पद से इस्तीफा दिया।

2010 भारत के सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने गैरकानूनी तरीके से हमला किए जाने की स्थिति में आत्मरक्षा के अधिकार की प्रो-ऐक्टिव परिभाषा देते हुए कहा है कि कानून का पालन करने वाले लोगों को कायर बनकर रहने की जरूरत नहीं है। सुप्रीम कोर्ट की दो सदस्यीय खंडपीठ ने आत्मरक्षा के अधिकार की 10 सूत्रीय निर्देश तय करते हुए कहा कि इन परिस्थितियों में किसी व्यक्ति को अपराधी नहीं बनाया जा सकेगा, भले ही उसने हमलावर को जानलेवा क्षति पहुँचायी हो। इसी दिन 2010 भारत के प्रसिद्ध मार्क्सवादी राजनीतिज्ञ और कई दशक तक पश्चिम बंगाल के मुख्यमंत्री रहे ज्योति बसु का निधन हुआ।

2013 इराक में हुए सिलसिलेवार बम धमाकों में लगभग 40 लोग की जाने गयी। 2013 में इसी दिन जापान ने परमाणु संयंत्र को वापस चालू करने के लिए फुकुशिमा दाइची परमाणु ऊर्जा संयंत्र की साइट के निकट प्रांत में दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा अपतटीय पवन फार्म बनाने की घोषणा की। इसी दिन पूर्व अमेरिकन प्रोफेशनल साइकिल चालक लांस आर्मस्ट्रांग ने ओपरा के नेक्स्ट चैप्टर के प्रसारण में अपने डोपिंग की बात कबूल की। इसी दिन एथेंस के पेट्रालोना में गोल्डन डॉन के सदस्यों द्वारा शहजाद लुकमान की हत्या कर दी गई, जिससे ग्रीस में नस्ल-आधारित हमलों से निपटने के लिए नए उपायों का निर्माण हुआ।

2014 बीसवीं सदी की मशहूर हिंदी और बांग्ला फिल्म अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल सुचित्रा सेन का निधन हुआ। इसी दिन जानकारी दी गई कि इंग्लैंड के विनचेस्टर 1999 में एक हड्डी मिली थी जिसकी लंबी जांच के बाद ऐसा माना गया कि यह हड्डी प्रसिद्ध राजा अल्फ्रेड महान या उनके पुत्र एडवर्ड की है जो इतिहास में बहुत प्रसिद्ध थे। इसी दिन दिल्ली में सुनंदा पुष्कर (27 जून 1962 सोपोर, जम्मू एवं कश्मीर) का निधन हुआ। सुनंदा भारतीय मूल की कनाडाई व्यवसायी और संयुक्त राष्ट्र के तहत सेवारत पूर्व अंतर्राष्ट्रीय राजनयिक और कांग्रेस नेता शशि थरूर की पत्नी थीं। वह दुबई स्थित टेलीकाम इन्वेस्टमेंट्स में बिक्री निदेशक थीं, और इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग में एक क्रिकेट फ्रेंचाइजी, भारत स्थित रेंडेजवस स्पोर्ट्स वर्ल्ड की सह-मालिक थीं। शशि थरूर से पहले दो अन्य व्यक्तियों से विवाह कर सुनंदा रिश्ते खत्म कर चुकी थी।

2015 अमेरिका में म्यूजियम सेल्फी डे का आयोजन शुरु हुआ। इस दिन लोग संग्रहालयों में जाते हैं और वहां इतिहास की चीजें देखते, जानते, समझते और सेल्फी लेते हैं।

2020 प्रसिद्ध भारतीय क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी बापू नाडकर्णी का निधन हुआ। इसी दिन भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) ने यूरोपीय अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी से एरियन-5 प्रक्षेपण यान के माध्यम से संचार उपग्रह जीसैट-30 प्रक्षेपित किया। यह प्रक्षेपण भारतीय समयानुसार 2 बजकर 35 मिनट पर किया गया। यह इसरो का साल 2020 का पहला मिशन था। प्रक्षेपण के लगभग 38 मिनट 25 सेकंड बाद सैटेलाइट कक्षा में स्थापित हो गया। इसी दिन केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय ने आतंकवाद, नक्सली हिंसा या सांप्रदायिक दंगा पीड़ितों को सरकारी सहायता पाने हेतु आधार को अनिवार्य कर दिया।

2022 भाजपा पर विभिन्न समुदायों में ‘नफरत के बीज बोने’ का आरोप लगाते हुए पीडीपी अध्यक्ष महबूबा मुफ्ती ने कहा कि भाजपा से छुटकारा पाना ब्रिटिश शासन से आजादी पाने से ज्यादा बड़ी बात होगी। पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री ने दावा किया कि भाजपा के शासन में जम्मू-कश्मीर का अस्तित्व खतरे में है। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि सत्तारूढ़ पार्टी अपने विरोधियों को डराने के लिए सरकारी एजेंसियों का दुरुपयोग कर रही है। मुफ्ती ने यहां अपनी पार्टी के आदिवासी युवा सम्मेलन को संबोधित करते हुए कहा, उन्होंने देश को बर्बाद कर दिया है। भाजपा की साझेदारी में सरकार चला चुकी महबूबा ने कहा कि मौजूदा हालात में लोग असुरक्षित महसूस कर रहे हैं और उन्हें पता नहीं कि वे कल जीवित रहेंगे या नहीं। ईडी और अन्य सरकारी एजेंसियों द्वारा विपक्षी नेताओं की गिरफ्तारी और उनके खिलाफ छापे रोज की बात हो गयी है। जम्मू-कश्मीर के हालात बाकी देश से अधिक खराब हैं। इसी दिन सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने रियल एस्टेट क्षेत्र की प्रमुख कंपनी सुपरटेक लिमिटेड को नोएडा में एमराल्ड कोर्ट परियोजना के दो 40-मंजिले टावर को ध्वस्त करने के लिए एक कंपनी के साथ एक सप्ताह के भीतर अनुबंध करने का निर्देश दिया। नोएडा प्राधिकरण ने पीठ को सूचित किया कि उसने केंद्रीय भवन अनुसंधान संस्थान (सीबीआरआई), रुड़की के साथ परामर्श करके दोनों टावर को ध्वस्त करने के लिए एडिफिस इंजीनियरिंग का चयन किया है। शीर्ष अदालत ने सुपरटेक लिमिटेड को घर खरीदारों को उनके अधिकारों और विवादों के पूर्वाग्रह के बिना पैसे लौटाने का भी निर्देश दिया। न्यायमूर्ति डी. वाई. चंद्रचूड़ और न्यायमूर्ति सूर्यकांत की पीठ ने सुपरटेक लिमिटेड की ओर से पेश वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता पराग त्रिपाठी से कहा, ‘(टावर को ढहाने वाली एजेंसी के साथ) अनुबंध आज से एक सप्ताह की अवधि के भीतर निष्पादित किया जाएगा।

1040 Giri, Ghaznavid Empire Masud I of Ghazni (Amir-e Shaheed, born 998) died. He was the Sultan of the Ghaznavid Empire from 1030 to 1040. He came to power by snatching the Ghaznavi throne from his younger twin brother Mohammad. Mohammad was named as the successor after the death of Mahmud of Ghazni.
