19 नवंबर को मनाए जाने वाले महिला उद्यमिता दिवस डब्ल्यूईडी का उद्देश्य महिला उद्यमियों के काम, घरों, कार्यस्थलों, खेती, उद्योग, व्यापार एवं सेवा आदि के क्षेत्रों में योगदान पर बात करना और हितधारकों के मध्य सहयोग के आदान-प्रदान पर चर्चा करना है। 144 देशों ने 2014 में पहले महिला उद्यमिता दिवस को मान्यता दी, जिसमें महिला उद्यमिता दिवस पायनियर पुरस्कार सन्निहित था। आयोजन के साथ संगठन का एक राजदूत और फेलोशिप कार्यक्रम भी है।

शुरुआती महिला उद्यमिता दिवस की स्थापना और कार्यान्वयन पेट पायनियर, एनिमल फेयर मीडिया के संस्थापक और एलिस आइलैंड मेडल ऑफ ऑनर प्राप्तकर्ता वेंडी डायमंड ने की जिसने एडेलैंट फाउंडेशन के साथ स्वयंसेवा करने के बाद होंडुरास में कम आय वाली महिलाओं को माइक्रोक्रेडिट प्रदान किया। अमेरिका लौटने पर उसने फैसला किया कि वह इस और इसी तरह के परोपकारी कार्यों में मदद के लिए कुछ विकसित करना चाहती है। 19 नवंबर 2014 को पहला महिला उद्यमिता दिवस आयोजित किया गया इसे 144 देशों में मनाया गया था। इसे फॉर्च्यून पत्रिका ने महिला संस्थापकों का जश्न मनाने और समर्थन करने और उनकी कुछ चुनौतियों पर प्रकाश डालने के लिए एक वैश्विक आंदोलन के रूप में वर्णित किया था। फोर्ब्स पत्रिका ने लिखा है कि इसका इरादा महिला व्यापार मालिकों, उद्यमियों के एक वैश्विक नेटवर्क को संगठित करना भी था। और परिवर्तन-निर्माता जो महिला उद्यमियों और उनके व्यवसायों के इस समुदाय का समर्थन करते हैं और उन्हें सशक्त बनाते हैं। 19 नवंबर को न्यूयॉर्क के गवर्नर एंड्रयू कुओमो और न्यूयॉर्क शहर के मेयर बिल डी ब्लासियो, फिलाडेल्फिया के मेयर जिम ने आधिकारिक दिन घोषित किया। अमेरिकी प्रतिनिधि सभा भी प्रतिवर्ष 19 नवंबर को कांग्रेस महिला ग्रेस मेंग के नेतृत्व में महिला उद्यमिता दिवस आंदोलन को महिला उद्यमियों के सम्मान में एक दिन के रूप में मान्यता देती है।

Women's Entrepreneurship Day: Women who work tirelessly to support family, economy and society still do not have equal rights

Women Entrepreneurship Day WED, celebrated on 19th November, aims to highlight the contribution of women entrepreneurs in the fields of work, homes, workplaces, farming, industry, trade and services etc. and to discuss the exchange of cooperation among the stakeholders. 144 countries recognized the first Women's Entrepreneurship Day in 2014, which embodied the Women's Entrepreneurship Day Pioneer Award. The organization also has an ambassador and fellowship program in conjunction with the event.

Women's Entrepreneurship Day was initially founded and implemented by pet pioneer, Animal Fair Media founder, and Ellis Island Medal of Honor recipient Wendy Diamond after volunteering with the Adelante Foundation to provide microcredit to low-income women in Honduras. Upon returning to the US she decided she wanted to develop something to help this and similar charitable causes. The first Women's Entrepreneurship Day was organized on 19 November 2014. It was celebrated in 144 countries. It was described by Fortune magazine as a global movement to celebrate and support female founders and shed light on some of their challenges. Forbes magazine wrote that it was also intended to organize a global network of women business owners and entrepreneurs. and change-makers who support and empower this community of women entrepreneurs and their businesses. November 19 was declared the official day by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, along with Philadelphia Mayor Jim... The U.S. House of Representatives also recognizes the Women's Entrepreneurship Day movement led by Congresswoman Grace Meng annually on November 19 as a day honoring women entrepreneurs.
