विकास का अंतिम उद्देश्य व्यक्ति की भलाई में निरंतर सुधार लाना और सभी को लाभ प्रदान करना होना चाहिए। यदि अनुचित विशेषाधिकार, धन की चरम सीमा, यानी मुट्ठी भर लोगों तक सीमित होना सामाजिक अन्याय बना रहता है, तो विकास अपने मूल उद्देश्य में विफल हो जाता है। अंतर्राष्ट्रीय समुदाय को विज्ञान और तकनीकी प्रगति द्वारा प्रदान किए गए अभूतपूर्व अवसरों की वर्तमान युग की चुनौती का सामना करना चाहिए, ताकि उन्हें सभी देशों द्वारा समान रूप से साझा किया जा सके और बदले में, दुनिया भर में त्वरित आर्थिक विकास में योगदान दिया जा सके।

The United Nations General Assembly decided to celebrate World Development Information Day on 24 October 1972, coinciding with United Nations Day. An essential part of work on development is the mobilization of public opinion in support of development policies in both developing and developed countries. Objectives and policies. Keeping in mind that leadership can make a significant contribution to mobilizing public opinion, formulation of concrete goals by competent authorities is indispensable.

The role of the United Nations is to assist the various national information media, in particular by providing sufficient basic information from which these media can draw both material and inspiration for their work.

In 1972, the General Assembly established the World Development Information Day (through resolution 3038) to draw world attention to development problems and the need to strengthen international cooperation to solve them. The Assembly decided that the date of the Day should coincide with 24 October, United Nations Day, which was also the date of the adoption of the International Development Strategy for the Second United Nations Development Decade in 1970. The Assembly recognized that improving the dissemination of information and mobilizing public opinion, especially among young people, would increase awareness of development problems, thereby stimulating efforts in the field of international cooperation for development.

From the 1970s onwards Governments dedicated themselves to the fundamental objectives enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations to create conditions of stability and well-being and to ensure a minimum standard of living consistent with human dignity through economic and social progress and development. The launch of the first United Nations Development Decade in 1961 marked a major worldwide effort to put on solid foundation that solemn pledge. Efforts to adopt measures for that purpose have continued since then. The standard of living of millions of people in the world is still pitifully low, the recession and Corona lockdown have made the situation much worse. Crores of people are undernourished, uneducated, unemployed and deprived of many basic facilities. The United Nations believes that current disappointments should not be allowed to cloud the vision or come in the way of development objectives. The success of international development activities depends to a large extent on the improvement of the general international situation which requires concrete progress especially in promoting equal political, economic, social and cultural rights for all members of society.

The ultimate objective of development should be to continuously improve the well-being of the individual and provide benefits to all. If unfair privileges, extreme limitation of wealth, i.e. confining it to a handful of people, remains a social injustice, then development fails in its basic objective. The international community must rise to the challenge of the present era of unprecedented opportunities provided by science and technological progress, so that they can be shared equally by all countries and, in turn, contribute to accelerated economic development throughout the world .

The United Nations says that information and communication technologies have the potential to provide new solutions to development challenges, particularly in the context of globalization, and promote economic growth, competitiveness, access to information and knowledge, poverty alleviation and social inclusion. Which will help in accelerating integration. Inclusion of all countries, especially developing countries, especially the least developed countries, into the global economy. Furthermore, it is a well-established fact that information and communication technologies present new opportunities and challenges and there is an urgent need to address the major barriers that developing countries face in accessing new technologies, e.g. Inadequate resources, infrastructure, education, capacity. Issues related to investment and connectivity, and technology ownership, standards and flows. We appeal to everyone in this regard.
