1253 अपने भतीजों के साथ आंतरिक युद्ध में विजय के बाद मिंडौगास ने बपतिस्मा लेकर इसाई धर्म अपनाया, लिथुआनिया राजा बना और ग्रांड ड्यूक की पदवी धारण की। 6 जुलाई को, लिथुआनिया राज्य दिवस मनाता है, जो 1253 में देश के पहले और एकमात्र राजा मिंडौगस के राज्याभिषेक का स्मरण करता है।

1483 हाउस आफ यार्क के रिचर्ड तृतीय को इंग्लैंड का राजा चुना गया।

1614 बादशाह अकबर के प्रधान सेनापति सरदार मान सिंह का निधन हुआ। 1614 में इसी दिन ओटोमन साम्राज्य को माल्टा आइलैंड जीतने के युद्ध में हार का सामना करना पड़ा। 

1787 पश्चिम बंगाल के शिबपुर में भारतीय वनस्पति उद्यान की स्थापना हुई।

1785 संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिकी मुद्रा के रूप में डॉलर को सर्वसम्मति से चुना गया।

1837 प्रसद्धि समाज सुधारक रामकृष्ण गोपाल भंडारकर का जन्म हुआ।

1859 स्कॉटलैंड के धर्मगुरू और विख्यात खोजकर्ता डेविड लेविंगस्टन ने स्कॉटलैंड में प्रवेश किया। जिसके बाद ब्रिटेन ने इस देश पर अधिकार कर लिया।

1885 फ्रांसीसी रसायनशास्त्री, वैज्ञानिक और सूक्ष्म-जैवविज्ञानी थे जो टीकाकरण, किण्वन और पास्चुरीकरण के सिद्धांतों की खोज करने वाले लुइस पाश्चर ने रेबीज के टीके का सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण किया। जूनोटिक रोगों के बारे में जनता को शिक्षित करने और जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए लुइस पाश्चर की याद में 6 जुलाई को विश्व जूनोसिस दिवस मनाया जाता है।

1892 भारत के प्रमुख राजनेता दादा भाई नौरोजी ब्रिटेन की संसद में चुने जाने वाले प्रथम अश्वेत एवं भारतीय बने। (दादाभाई नौरोजी ब्रिटिशकालीन भारत के एक पारसी बुद्धिजीवी, शिक्षाशास्त्री, कपास के व्यापारी तथा आरम्भिक राजनैतिक एवं सामाजिक नेता थे। उन्हें भारत का वयोवृद्ध पुरुष कहा जाता है। 1892 से 1907 तक वे युनाइटेड किंगडम के हाउस आव कॉमन्स के सदस्य थे।)

1894 हिंदी खड़ी बोली तथा भारतेंदु युग के उन्नायक कहे गये प्रताप नारायण मिश्र का निधन हुआ।

1901 राष्ट्रीय स्वयं सेवक संघ के नेता श्यामाप्रसाद मुखर्जी का जन्म हुआ, इन्होंने आरएसएस के राजनैतिक संगठन जनसंघ की स्थापना की।

1905 प्रख्यात भारतीय समाज सुधारक लक्ष्मीबाई केलकर का जन्म हुआ।

1906 प्रसिद्ध भारत भारतीय वैज्ञानिक दौलत सिंह कोठारी का जन्म हुआ।

1923 सोवियत सोशलिस्ट रिपब्लिक यानी सोवियत समाजवादी गणराज्य की स्थापना हुई।

1930 विख्यात कर्नाटक शास्त्रीय संगीतज्ञ, गायक, वादक एवं कवि मंगलमपल्ली बालामुरली कृष्णा का जन्म शंकरागुप्तम में हुआ।

1935 बौद्ध धर्म को मानने वाले तिब्बतियों के सर्वोच्च धर्मगुरु दलाई लामा का जन्म हुआ।

1940 ब्रिस्बेन में सबसे लंबे कैंटिलीवर ब्रिज स्टोरी ब्रिज का क्वींसलैंड के गवर्नर सर लेस्ली ऑर्म विल्सन ने लोकार्पण किया। इसी दिन कजाखस्तान के राष्ट्रपति रहे नूर सुल्तान नजर्बायेव का जन्म हुआ।

1944 नेताजी सुभाषचंद्र बोस ने महात्मा गांधी को पहली बार राष्ट्रपिता कहा।

1946 अमेरिका के 43वें राष्ट्रपति जॉर्ज डब्ल्यू बुश का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन महान नैतिक दार्शनिक पीटर सिंगर का जन्म हुआ।

1947 सोवियत संघ में एके -47 राइफल का उत्पादन शुरू हुआ। एके का मतलब है अवतोमत कलाश्निकोवा। इसे मिखाइल कलाश्निकोव ने डिजाइन किया था। इस बंदूक का उपयोग दुनिया के अधिकतम देशों के सशस्त्र बलों द्वारा किया जाता है। इसी दिन भारत में उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार का यश भारती पुरस्कार प्राप्त करने वाले उर्दू के मशहूर शायर अनवर जलालपुरी का जन्म हुआ।

1951 नीति आयोग के उपाध्यक्ष, अर्थशास्त्री राजीव कुमार का जन्म हुआ।

1954 भारत की प्रथम महिला बैरिस्टर कार्नेलिया सोराबजी का निधन हुआ।

1956 भारत सरकार में पर्यावरण, वन तथा जलवायु परिवर्तन राज्यमंत्री रहे अनिल माधब दवे का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन 1956 में वेल्लोर अस्पताल में पहली बार सफलतापूर्वक ओपन हार्ट सर्जरी हुयी।

1959 मोजांबिक के निकट पुर्तगाल के जहाज में विस्फोट से 300 लोग मरे।

1962 विख्यात अमरीकी लेखक विलियम फॉल्कनर का निधन हुआ। उन्होंने अपनी कहानियों में अमरिकी समाज की समस्याओं विशेषकर अश्वेत जनता के साथ भेदभाव का उल्लेख किया।

1964 अफ्रीका महाद्वीप का देश मलावी ब्रिटेन से आजाद हुआ और इस दिन को इस देश का राष्ट्रीय दिवस घोषित किया गया।

1973 जेह वाडिया के नाम से सुपरिचित जहांगीर नुस्ली वाडिया का जन्म बंबई में हुआ। जहांगीर बड़े कारोबारी हैं, बाम्बे डाइंग, बाम्बे रियल्टी के प्रमुख होने के साथ - साथ वे ब्रिटानिया इंडस्ट्री सहित बाम्बे बरमाह इत्यादि कई कंपनियों में साझेदार हैं। 

1974 काफी प्रभावशाली फिल्म एवं विज्ञापन फिल्म निर्देशिका गौरी शिंदे का जन्म पुणे में हुआ।

1981 जानी मानी खूबसूरत, बोल्ड दक्षिण भारतीय फिल्म अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल निकिता ठुकराल का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन भारत के प्रमुख कारोबारियों में से एक फ्लिपकार्ट के संस्थापक सचिन बंसल का जन्म चंडीगढ़ में हुआ।

1985 जानी मानी खूबसूरत, बोल्ड बाॅलीवुड फिल्म अभिनेत्री और माॅडल श्वेता त्रिपाठी का जन्म नई दिल्ली में हुआ। इसी दिन जाने माने बाॅलीवुड फिल्म अभिनेता और फोबर््स पत्रिका की 100 प्रभावशाली लोगों की सूची में शामिल रणवीर सिंह का जन्म बंबई में हुआ। 

1986 आधुनिक भारतीय राजनीति के शिखर पुरुषों में से एक जगजीवन राम का निधन हुआ। जिन्हें आदर से बाबूजी और बाबू जगजीवनराम कहा जाता है।

1988 टालीवुड यानी तमिल सिनेमा और दक्षिण भारतीय सिनेमा की लोकप्रिय गायिका मालविका का जन्म विशाखापट्टनम में हुआ।

1990 प्रसिद्ध गुजराती टेलीविजन एवं फिल्म अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल भक्ति राठौड़ का जन्म बंबई में हुआ। इसी दिन इलेक्ट्रॉनिक फ्रंटियर फाउंडेशन की स्थापना की गई।

1997 प्रसिद्ध फिल्म निर्माता-निर्देशक चेतन आनंद का निधन हुआ।

2002 अफगानिस्तान के उपराष्ट्रपति अब्दुल कादिर की हत्या हुई । इसी दिन भारत के प्रसिद्ध उद्योगपति धीरूभाई अंबानी का निधन हुआ। उनके बेटे मुकेश अंबानी पर मोदी सरकार की खास मेहरबानी है और वे भारत के सबसे बड़े 2 रईसों में से एक हैं। मोदी सरकार की बदौलत दूसरे अमीर गौतम अदाणी हैं।

2003 ब्रह्मांड में पांच सितारों को एक संदेश भेजा गया जो पृथ्वी से कई प्रकाश वर्ष दूर हैं। यह संदेश ब्रह्मांड में अतिरिक्त स्थलीय जीवन की खोज के लिए भेजा गया है। इस संदेश को ब्रह्मांड में साइलेंस ब्रेकर के रूप में मान्यता दी गई है। इस संदेश के 2036 तक गंतव्य तक पहुंचने की उम्मीद है।

2005 मैक्सिको में मानव का चालीस हजार वर्ष पुराना पदचिह्न मिला। इसी दिन जाने माने भारतीय वैज्ञानिक नौतम भट्ट का निधन हुआ।

2006 विश्व कप फुटबाल में फ्रांस ने पुर्तगाल को हराया। इसी दिन 2006 में 44 वर्ष बाद भारत-चीन में 1962 के युद्ध के बाद से बंद पड़े नाथुला दर्रे को खोला गया। यहां से भारत और चीन के बीच व्यापार होता था।

2008 दक्षिणी मिस्र में 5000 साल पुराने शाही कब्रिस्तान की खोज पूरी हुई।

2009 जद्रांका कोसोर क्रोएशिया की पहली महिला प्रधानमंत्री बनीं।

2011 जाने माने भारतीय फिल्म निर्देशक मणि कौल का निधन हुआ।

2012 संयुक्त राष्ट्र के व्यापार और विकास सम्मेलन (अंकटाड) विश्व निवेश रिपोर्ट-2012 के अनुसार बहुराष्ट्रीय कंपनियों के लिए 2012 से 2014 की अवधि में चीन सबसे आकर्षक निवेश स्थल रहा। उसके बाद अमेरिका, भारत का स्थान रहा। इसी दिन पाकिस्तान में बंदूकधारियों ने 18 लोगों की हत्या की।

2013 नाइजीरिया में आतंकवादियों ने स्कूल में हमला करके 42 लोगों की हत्या की।

2014 पद्मश्री से सम्मानित अमेरिकी विद्वान एवं इतिहासकार ग्रैनविल ऑस्टिन का निधन हुआ। इसी दिन इजरायली वायु सेना ने गाजा पट्टी पर हमला कर हमास के सात सदस्यों को मार गिराया।

2018 प्रसिद्ध साहित्यकार, चित्रकार, मानवाधिकार और पर्यावरण कार्यकर्ता अमृतलाल बेगड़ का निधन हुआ।

1253 After a victory in the internecine war with his nephews, Mindaugas was baptized and converted to Christianity, became King of Lithuania and assumed the title of Grand Duke. On 6 July, Lithuania celebrates Statehood Day, which commemorates the coronation of Mindaugas, the country's first and only king, in 1253.

1483 Richard III of the House of York is elected King of England.

1614 Sardar Man Singh, the chief commander of Emperor Akbar, passed away. On this day in 1614, the Ottoman Empire was defeated in the battle to win the island of Malta.

1787 The Indian Botanical Garden was established at Shibpur in West Bengal.

1785 The dollar is unanimously chosen as the United States currency.

1837: Famous social reformer Ramakrishna Gopal Bhandarkar was born.

1859 David Levingston, a Scottish cleric and noted explorer, entered Scotland. After which Britain took control of this country.

1885 Louis Pasteur, French chemist, scientist, and micro-biologist who discovered the principles of inoculation, fermentation, and pasteurization, successfully tested a rabies vaccine. World Zoonoses Day is observed on 6 July in memory of Louis Pasteur to educate the public about zoonotic diseases and raise awareness.

1892 Dadabhai Naoroji, India's prominent statesman, became the first black and Indian to be elected to the British Parliament.

1894 Pratap Narayan Mishra, known as Hindi Khari Boli and pioneer of Bharatendu era, passed away.

1901 Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Syama Prasad Mukherjee was born, he founded the Jana Sangh, the political organization of the RSS.

1905 Laxmibai Kelkar, eminent Indian social reformer, was born.

1944 Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose called Mahatma Gandhi the Father of the Nation for the first time.

1946 George W. Bush, 43rd President of the United States, was born. On this day the great moral philosopher Peter Singer was born.

1947 Production of the AK-47 rifle begins in the Soviet Union. AK stands for Kalashnikov assault rifle. It was designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov. This gun is used by the armed forces of maximum countries of the world. On this day, the famous Urdu poet Anwar Jalalpuri, who received the Yash Bharti Award from the Government of Uttar Pradesh in India, was born.

1951 Rajeev Kumar, economist and vice-chairman of NITI Aayog, was born.

1954 Cornelia Sorabjee, India's first woman barrister, passed away.

1956 Anil Madhab Dave, Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, was born. On this day in 1956, the first successful open heart surgery was performed at Vellore Hospital.

1959: An explosion on a Portuguese ship near Mozambique kills 300.

1962 Noted American author William Faulkner passed away. In his stories, he mentioned the problems of American society, especially the discrimination against black people.

1981 Nikita Thukral, well-known beautiful, bold South Indian film actress and model, was born. On this day Sachin Bansal, the founder of Flipkart, one of India's leading businessmen, was born in Chandigarh.

1985 Shweta Tripathi, well-known beautiful, bold Bollywood film actress and model, was born in New Delhi. On this day, Ranveer Singh, a well-known Bollywood film actor and included in Forbes magazine's list of 100 influential people, was born in Bombay.

1986 Jagjivan Ram, one of the towering figures of modern Indian politics, passed away. Who are respectfully called Babuji and Babu Jagjivanram.

1988 Malavika, a popular singer of Tollywood ie Tamil cinema and South Indian cinema, was born in Visakhapatnam.

1990 Bhakti Rathore, famous Gujarati television and film actress and model, was born in Bombay. On this day the Electronic Frontier Foundation was established.

1997 Chetan Anand, noted film producer-director, passed away.

2002 Vice President of Afghanistan Abdul Qadir was assassinated. India's famous industrialist Dhirubhai Ambani passed away on this day. His son Mukesh Ambani is specially favored by Modi government and he is one of the biggest 2 rich people of India. Gautam Adani is the second rich because of the Modi government.

2003 A message is sent to five stars in the universe that are many light years away from Earth. This message has been sent to the universe to search for extra-terrestrial life.
