1975 अमेरिका के डेट्रोइट के पास एक रेस्तरां के बाहर आखिरी बार देखे जाने के बाद अमेरिकी मजदूर संघ के नेता जिमी होफा रहस्यमय तरीके से गायब हो गए। 

1977 जैमे एलिजाबेथ प्रेसली का जन्म किंस्टन, उत्तरी कैरोलिना में हुआ। प्रेसली प्रसिद्ध, लोकप्रिय, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड अमेरिकी फिल्म अभिनेत्री, फैशन डिजाइनर और मॉडल हैं। एनबीसी सिटकॉम माई नेम इज अर्ल में जॉय टर्नर की भूमिका के लिए खास सराहना, कॉमेडी सीरीज में उत्कृष्ट सहायक अभिनेत्री के लिए प्राइमटाइम एमी अवार्ड जीता और गोल्डन ग्लोब अवार्ड और स्क्रीन एक्टर्स गिल्ड अवार्ड के लिए नामांकन प्राप्त हैं।

1980 बनुआतू को स्वतंत्रता मिली।

1987 भारतीय प्रधानमंत्री राजीव गांधी को श्रीलंका में गार्ड ऑफ ऑनर दिये जाने के दौरान एक सैनिक विजिथा रोहन विजेमुनि ने अपनी बंदूक की बट से उन पर हमला कर दिया। विजिथा भारतीय शांति सेना भेजे जाने के फैसले से राजीव गांधी से नाराज था। समय रहते राजीव गांधी झुक गए, लेकिन उन्हें चोट लगी। तुरंत राजीव गांधी की सिक्योरिटी ने उन्हें घेर लिया। किसी भारतीय प्रधानमंत्री पर विदेशी धरती पर हुआ ये इकलौता हमला है। शांति समझौते के बाद 1990 तक भारतीय सेना के जवान वहां रहे। इस ऑपरेशन में भारतीय सेना के 1200 जवान शहीद हुए। ये वो फैसला था जो आगे चलकर राजीव की हत्या की वजह बना। दरअसल शांति सेना को भेजने से श्रीलंका का तमिल अधिकारों के लिए संघर्षरत संगठन लिबरेशन टाइगर्स आॅफ तमिल इलम लिट्टे राजीव का दुश्मन बन बैठा। 1991 में 21 मई को लिट्टे ने तमिलनाडु के श्रीपेरुंबुदूर में एक आत्मघाती हमले में राजीव गांधी की हत्या कर दी।

1989 चिली ने अपने संविधान में संशोधन किया।

1990 जानी मानी हिंदी और दक्षिण भारतीय फिल्म अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल आकांक्षा सिंह का जन्म जयपुर में हुआ।

2000 संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने इस्रायल द्वारा खाली किये क्षेत्रों में शांति सेना की तैनाती प्रारंभ की।

2001 श्रीलंका सरकार ने मुक्ति चीतों पर से प्रतिबंध हटाने से इन्कार किया।

2002 कनाडा ने अलकायदा सहित सात संगठनों को आतंकवादी संगठन घोषित किया।

2004 भारत और पाकिस्तान के मध्य तुलबुल परियोजना पर बातचीत बिना किसी सहमति के समाप्त और इसी दिन पाकिस्तानी प्रधानमंत्री (मनोनीत) शौकत अजीत आत्मघाती हमले में बाल-बाल बचे।

2007 चीन के वैज्ञानिकों ने झेंगझाऊ में लगभग 50 लाख साल पुरानी चट्टानों की खोज की।

2010 पश्चिम कांगो में स्थित बाडुडु प्रांत में बहनेवाली कांगो नदी की शाखा कसाई नदी में एक नौका दुर्घटना में 140 से अधिक लोग डूब गए
