1952 बाॅलीवुड के जाने माने फिल्मकार मुकेश भट्ट का जन्म हुआ। इनके भाई महेश भट्ट भी बड़े, चर्चित फिल्मकार हैं।

1953 डेनमार्क में नया संविधान लागू हुआ।

1955 फैजाबाद में किरण चौधरी का जन्म हुआ। किरण हरियाणा में भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस पार्टी की जानी मानी राजनेत्री और विधान सभा सदस्य हैं।

1961 विख्यात भारतीय टेनिस खिलाड़ी एवं टेनिस प्रशिक्षक रमेश कृष्णन का जन्म हुआ।

1967 इजरायल ने मिस्र पर हमला कर उसके करीब चार सौ लड़ाकू विमान नष्ट कर दिए।

1968 अमरीका के शहर लॉस एंजेलस के एक होटल में मशहूर अमरीकी सांसद रॉबर्ट कैनडी के ऊपर जानलेवा हमला हुआ।

1969 सोवियत संघ की राजधानी मास्को में अंतरराष्ट्रीय कम्युनिस्ट सम्मेलन शुरू हुआ।

1972 पौड़ी गढ़वाल में भगवान सिंह बिष्ट के बेटे का जन्म हुआ, अजय सिंह बिष्ट। धार्मिक राजनीतिक नेता अजय लंबे समय से योगी आदित्यनाथ के नाम से जाने जाते हैं और उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री हैं।

1972 स्वीडन की राजधानी स्टॉकहोम में संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ द्वारा एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय पर्यावरण सम्मेलन में करीब 110 देशों ने हिस्सा लिया। इसमें संयुक्त राष्ट्र पर्यावरण कार्यक्रम का गठन हुआ। 1974 में पहली बार विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस मनाया गया। इसके बाद से हर साल 5 जून को विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस मनाया जाता है। 1987 से दुनियाभर के अलग-अलग देशों को इस दिन की मेजबानी सौंपने की शुरुआत की गई। 2018 में इसका मेजबान भारत था।

1976 रंभा के नाम से सुपरिचित खूबसूरत, बोल्ड तमिल, तेलूगू, मलयालम, कन्नड़, हिंदी, भोजपुरी, अंग्रेजी आदि विविध भाषाओं की फिल्मों की लोकप्रिय अभिनेत्री और माॅडल विजयलक्ष्मी का जन्म हुआ।

1976 तारक मेहता का उल्टा चश्मा जैसे तमाम टेलीविजन धारावाहिकों की अभिनेत्री और माॅडल सोनालिका जोशी का जन्म बंबई में हुआ।

1977 ऐपल ने ऐपल द्वितीय कम्प्यूटर पेश किया।

1981 अमेरिकी रोग नियंत्रण केंद्र ने लॉस एंजिल्स में समलैंगिक पुरुषों में निमोसिस्टिस निमोनिया के मामलों का एक समूह पाया, यह एड्स की शुरुआती पहचान थी।

1984 सिखों के धर्म स्थल पंजाब के अमृतसर मे स्थित स्वर्ण मंदिर मे ऑपरेशन ब्लू-स्टार को भारतीय सेना ने अंजाम दिया। अलग देश की मांग कर रहे खालिस्तानियों ने स्वर्ण मंदिर में डेरा जमाया हुआ था। ऑपरेशन ब्लू-स्टार में खालिस्तान आंदोलन के मुखिया जरनैल सिंह भिंडरावाले सहित तमाम आतंकवादी मारे गये। इसमें सुरक्षा बलों के अनेक लोग भी हताहत हुए।

1989 ईरान के सर्वोच्च धार्मिक और राजनैतिक मुखिया अयातुल्लाह रोहेल्लाह खुमैनी का देहांत हुआ। इसी दिन बंबई में पारुल यादव का जन्म हुआ। वे सुपरिचित, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड दक्षिण भारतीय फिल्म अभिनेत्री और फिल्म निर्मात्री हैं।

1990 सोवियत संघ के अंतिम राष्ट्रपति मिखाइल गोर्बाचोव को नोबेल शांति पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया।

1996 हिंदी सहित विविध दक्षिण भारतीय भाषाओं की फिल्मों की खूबसूरत, बोल्ड, बहुप्रतिभावान अभिनेत्री एवं अपूर्वा अरोरा का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ। 1996 में इसी दिन विख्यात हिंदी लेखक, निबंधकार कुबेरनाथ राय का निधन हुआ।

2008 इलाहाबाद उच्च न्यायालय ने उत्तर प्रदेश पुलिस भर्ती घोटाले की जाँच सीबीआई से कराने का भारत सरकार को निर्देश दिया। इसी दिन एलेन परेरा ने बैंक ऑफ महाराष्ट्र के अध्यक्ष एवं प्रबन्ध निदेशक का कार्यभार सम्भाला। अमेरिका ने भारत व चीन को निगरानी सूची में डाला।

2013 बिहार में बिजली गिरने से 44 लोगों की मौत हुई। इसी दिन नवाज शरीफ पाकिस्तान के प्रधानमंत्री बने। इसी दिन पहली बार एक अंग्रेजी अखबार में छपा कि अमरीका की राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा एजेंसी अमरीका में लाखों लोगों के फोन रिकॉर्ड जुटा रही है।

2018 जॉर्डन के शाह, अब्दुल्ला द्वितीय ने सरकार विरोधी आंदोलन के बीच हार्वर्ड विश्व विद्यालय से शिक्षा प्राप्त उमर रज्जाज को प्रधानमंत्री नियुक्त किया।
