1900 प्रसिद्ध भारतीय स्वतंत्रता सेनानी गणेश घोष का जन्म हुआ।

1906 स्वीडन ने राष्ट्रीय ध्वज अपनाया।

1910 जाने माने ब्रिटिश सैन्य अधिकारी जाॅन हंट, बैराॅन हंट का जन्म शिमला हिमाचल प्रदेश में हुआ।

1911 जॉर्ज पांचवें को इंग्लैंड का राजा बनाया गया। इसी दिन जेक वी और मैरी ऑफ टेक को लंदन में वेस्टमिंस्टर एब्बे में किंग एंड द अनइनटेड किंगडम की रानी का ताज पहनाया गया।

1914 प्रसिद्ध पाकिस्तानी शीर्ष सैन्य अधिकारी हुए तुफैल मोहम्मद का जन्म होशियारपुर, पंजाब में हुआ।

1918 स्पैनिश फ्लू ने महामारी का रूप धारण किया, इससे 6 महीनों में 30 मिलियन से ज्यादा लोग मारे गये।

1922 फिलीपींस की विश्व विख्यात फिल्म अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल मोना लिसा ग्लोरिया लेर्मा यात्को का जन्म हुआ

1932 प्रसिद्ध भारतीय सिनेमा के चरित्र अभिनेता और खलनायक अमरीश पुरी का जन्म नवाशहर पंजाब में हुआ।

1939 सुभाषचंद्र बोस ने कांग्रेस से अलग होकर अपनी अलग पार्टी फॉरवर्ड ब्लॉक की स्थापना की। इसी दिन पद्मभूषण सम्मान प्राप्त भारत के प्रमुख शिया इस्लामिक विद्वान कल्बे सादिक का जन्म हुआ।

1941 द्वितीय विश्वयुद्ध में जर्मनी ने सोवियत रूस पर आक्रमण किया। 1941 में इसी दिन लिथुआनिया में ऐतिहासिक जून विद्रोह शुरू हुआ।

1944 अमेरिका में सेवानिवृत सैनिकों की मदद के लिए कानून बनाया गया।

1946 इंग्लैंड और भारत के बीच लंदन के प्रसिद्ध लॉर्डस क्रिकेट मैदान में पहला क्रिकेट टेस्ट मैच शुरू हुआ।

1948 ब्रिटिश सम्राट ने अपना इंपरर ऑफ इंडिया यानी भारत के सम्राट का पद खत्म किया।

1950 प्रसिद्ध भारतीय अंग्रेज रंगकर्मी और फिल्म अभिनेता टॉम अल्टर का जन्म देहरादून जिले के मसूरी में हुआ।

1954 तमिलनाडु के जाने माने राजनेता और तेलुगू देशम पार्टी के विधायक देविनेनी नेहरू का जन्म हुआ।

1957 सोवियत संघ ने पहली बार अपनी आर-12 मिसाइल प्रक्षेपित की।

1958 जाने माने अमेरिकी लेखक और आलोचक एस. टी. जोशी का जन्म पुणे, महाराष्ट्र में हुआ।

1988 विख्यात बौद्ध भिक्षु, पालि भाषा के विद्वान एवं लेखक भदंत आनन्द कौसल्यायन का निधन हुआ।

1991 प्रसिद्ध भारतीय गायक पंडित बसवराज राजगुरु का निधन हुआ।

1992 माॅडल, अभिनेत्री प्रिया ओलिविया सेराओ का जन्म भारत में हुआ। वे 2019 में मिस यूनिवर्स आॅस्ट्रेलिया चुनी गईं।

1994 जाने माने सफल भारतीय फिल्मकार, निर्माता-निर्देशक और अभिनेता एल. वी. प्रसाद का निधन हुआ।

1995 भारत और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मानव सेवा समिति रेड क्रॉस एक समझौता हुआ जिसके तहत रेड क्रॉस को भारत में तहत हिरासत में लिए गए संदिग्ध आतंकवादियों और अन्य प्रकार के आरोपियों के साथ बातचीत की सुविधा मिली। मानवाधिकारवादियों, मानवतावादियों द्वारा इस कार्रवाई की दुनिया भर में प्रशंसा हुई।

2000 प्रमुख प्रखर हिंदी कवि केदारनाथ अग्रवाल का निधन हुआ। इसी दिन 2002 में ईरान में भीषण भूकम्प में 500 से अधिक लोगों की मौत हुई।

2009 डिजिटल फोटोग्राफी के उभार से घटती बिक्री का हवाला देते हुए कैमरा और फोटोग्राफी उपकरण बनाने वाली ईस्टमैन कोडक कंपनी ने घोषणा की कि वह कोडाक्रोम रिवर्सल फिल्म की बिक्री को रद्द कर देगी, जो फोटोग्राफी आइकन के रूप में अपने 74 साल के सफर का समापन है। इसी दिन 21वीं सदी का सबसे लंबा सूर्यग्रहण भारत में दिखाई दिया। इसी दिन वाशिंगटन, डीसी में दो मेट्रो ट्रेनें टकराईं, नौ लोगों की मौत हो गई और 80 अन्य घायल हो गए।

2012 पराग्वे के राष्ट्रपति फर्नान्डो लुगो पर महाभियोग चलाकर पद से हटाया गया और फेडेरिको फ्रांको नये राष्ट्रपति बनाए गये।

2014 जाने माने भारतीय फिल्म निर्देशक और निर्माता राम नारायणन का निधन हुआ।

2015 अफगानिस्तान की राष्ट्रीय संसद भवन में आत्मघाती आतंकी हमला हुआ, हमलावर मारे गये, 18 अन्य लोग घायल हुए।

2016 भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संस्थान इसरो ने अंतरिक्ष में 20 उपग्रह लॉन्च एक साथ कर कीर्तिमान बनाया।

2017 रेनफॉरेस्ट पार्टनरशिप संस्था द्वारा विश्व वर्षावन दिवस का आयोजन किया गया। वन जैव विविधता और पर्यावरण के लिए अनिवार्य रूप से महत्व हैं लेकिन भारत सहित दुनिया भर में वनों की कटाई और सर्वत्र पेड़ों की कटाई, नदियों, नालियों, तालाबों आदि की समाप्ति हुई है। कार्बन डाइआॅक्साइड सोखने के प्राकृतिक संसाधनों का विनाश हुआ है। प्रकृति के संरक्षण के लिए सरकारों, कंपनियों, स्वयं सेवी संगठनों और व्यक्तियों को प्रोत्साहित करने और तमाम तरह के विमर्श, जागरूकता आदि के लिए यह दिवस दुनिया भर में मनाया जाता है।

2022 कांग्रेस सांसद राहुल गांधी ने सेना में अल्पकालिक भर्ती की नयी अग्निपथ योजना को देश एवं सेना के साथ मोदी सरकार का नया धोखा और सेना को कमजोर करने वाला कदम करार देते हुए दावा किया कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को तीनों कृषि कानूनों की तरह इस योजना को वापस लेना पड़ेगा। उन्होंने उनसे ईडी की 5 दिनों की पूछताछ के दौरान एकजुटता प्रकट करने के लिए कांग्रेस के नेताओं एवं कार्यकर्ताओं को धन्यवाद भी दिया। इसी दिन केंद्रीय जांच ब्यूरो यानी सीबीआई ने बैंक धोखाधड़ी मामले में डीएचएफएल, पूर्व चेयरमैन कपिल वधावन और धीरज वधावन आदि पर यूनियन बैंक ऑफ इंडिया की अगुवाई में 17 बैंकों के समूह के साथ 34,615 करोड़ रुपये की धोखाधड़ी का केस दर्ज किया है। यह एजेंसी की जांच दायरे में आई अब तक की सबसे बड़ी बैंक धोखा धड़ी है। सीबीआई के 50 से अधिक अधिकारियों की एक टीम ने आरोपियों के मुंबई में 12 ठिकानों की तलाशी ली।
