1954 जाने माने तमिल शास्त्रीय संगीतकार एवं गायक तिरुचि लोगानाथन महाराजन का जन्म तिरुचिरापल्ली में हुआ।

1956 कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता और जाने माने भारतीय लेखक शशि थरूर का लंदन में जन्म हुआ।

1959 दुनिया की सबसे ज्यादा लोकप्रिय गुड़िया बार्बी डॉल ने न्यूयार्क के अमेरिकन टॉय फेयर में प्रस्तुत की गई।

1961 डमी मानव के साथ सोवियत संघ के अंतरिक्ष यान स्पूतनिक 9 का सफल प्रक्षेपण हुआ।

1967 सोवियत संघ (अब रूस) के नेता जोसेफ स्टालिन की बेटी स्वेतलाना लोसिफोन्वा अलीलुयेवा ने सोवियत संघ छोड़ दिया था। वे दिल्ली पहुंचीं। भारत उन्हें राजनीतिक शरण देने के पक्ष में नहीं था। स्वेतलाना दिल्ली में अमेरिका के दूतावास में ठहरीं और अमेरिका से राजनीतिक शरण मांगी। भारत से वो स्विट्जरलैंड और फिर अमेरिका चली गईं। 1953 में पिता की मौत के बाद स्वेतलाना के बारे में ज्यादा जानकारी नहीं थी। 1964 में उन्होंने भारतीय राजनयिक ब्रजेश सिंह से शादी की। ये स्वेतलाना की तीसरी शादी थी। 1970 में यहां उन्होंने विलियम पीटर्स नाम के आर्किटेक्ट से चौथी शादी कर अमेरिकी नागरिकता लेने के बाद स्वेतलाना ने नाम बदलकर लाना पीटर्स रख लिया था।

1968 भारत के प्रसिद्ध साहित्यकार, कवि, लेखक, व्यंग्यकार और पत्रकार हरिशंकर शर्मा का निधन हुआ।

1969 टाटा समूह के मुखिया रहे प्रख्यात पारसी व्यापारी हारमसजी पेरोशा मोदी का निधन हुआ।

1970 भारत के मशहूर अमीर उद्योगपति, जिंदल स्टील और पावर लि. के मुखिया नवीन जिंदल का जन्म हिसार, हरियाणा में हुआ।

1977 अमेरिका की राजधानी वाशिंगटन में हनाफी मुस्लिम गुट ने तीन इमारतों पर हमला कर 149 लोगों को बंधक बनाया, दो की हत्या की।

1981 त्रिनीदाद के जाने माने क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी, राॅयल चैलेंजर्स बंगलौर से संबद्ध सैमुएल बद्री का जन्म त्रिनीदाद एवं टोबेगों में हुआ।

1985 जाने माने भारतीय क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी पार्थिव पटेल का अहमदाबाद में जन्म हुआ। जाने माने टेलीविजन अभिनेता एवं माॅडल पारस मदान का जन्म इसी दिन दिल्ली में हुआ।

1986 भारत में सेटेलाइट आधारित पहला टेलीफोन संपर्क नेटवर्क औपचारिक रूप से शुरू किया गया।

1991 जाने माने टेलीविजन कलाकार और माॅडल परिचय शर्मा का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ।

1994 प्रख्यात भारतीय फिल्म अभिनेत्री देविका रानी Devika Rani Choudhuri का निधन हुआ। 30 मार्च 1908 को जन्मी देविका 1930 और 1940 के दशक की मशहूर फिल्म अभिनेत्री हुईं। इनका विवाह विख्यात रूसी चित्रकार स्वेतोस्लाव निकोलायविच रोएरिच से हुआ।

1996 जानी मानी खूबसूरत, बोल्ड फिल्म अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल कनिका तिवारी का जन्म भोपाल, मध्य प्रदेश में हुआ।

1997 मद्रास विधान सभा के सदस्य बी. जी. रेड्डी का निधन हुआ। इसी दिन भारतीय बाल फिल्म कलाकार दरशील सफारी का जन्म मुंबई में हुआ। इसी दिन भारत के जाने माने फुटबाॅल खिलाड़ी जेरी मवीहमिंगथंगा का जन्म मिजोरम में हुआ।

2003 इंटरपोल ने पेरू के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति अलवर्टो फूजीमोरी का गिरफ्तारी वारंट जारी किया।
