1716 इंदौर शहर की स्थापना  राजा राव नंदलाल मंडलोई ने की।

1776 शमूएल निकोलस और महाद्वीपीय मरीन ने बहामा में नासाउ पर कब्जा किया।

1812 अमेरिकी कांग्रेस ने पहला विदेशी सहायता बिल पास किया।

1839 भारत के प्रसिद्ध उद्योगपति और टाटा समूह के संस्थापक जमशेद जी टाटा का जन्म हुआ।

1845 अमेरिका का 28वां राज्य फ्लोरिडा बना।

1847 विख्यात वैज्ञानिक, चिंतक, अभियंता हुए दूरसंचार के आधार स्तंभ टेलीफोन के आविष्कारक अलेक्जेंडर ग्राहम बेल का जन्म हुआ।

1849 संयुक्त राज्य कांग्रेस ने सोने के सिक्कों के ढालने की अनुमति देने के लिए सोने का सिक्का अधिनियम पारित किया।

1857 चीन और फ्रांस-ब्रिटेन के बीच युद्ध हुआ।

1875 पहला इनडोर आइस हॉकी खेल मॉन्ट्रियल, क्यूबेक, कनाडा में विक्टोरिया स्केटिंग रिंग में खेला गया।

1879 पहली अमेरिकी महिला वकील बेलवा एन बेनेट लॉकवुड ने अमेरिकी सुप्रीम कोर्ट में प्रवेश किया।

1900 जर्मन वैज्ञानिक और मोटर साइकिल के जन्मदाता कोटलेब डाइमलर का 64 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हुआ। 

1902 भारत के प्रमुख क्रांतिकारियों में से एक रामकृष्ण खत्री का जन्म हुआ।

1915 संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका ने नासा नेशनल एयरोनाॅटिक्स स्पेस एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन की पूर्ववर्ती अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी के लिए राष्ट्रीय सलाहकार समिति की स्थापना की।

1919 मराठी भाषा के सुप्रसिद्ध लेखक हरि नारायण आप्टे का निधन हुआ।

1923 सम सामयिक विषयों और समाचारों की विश्व प्रसिद्ध टाइम पत्रिका का पहली बार प्रकाशन हुआ।

1924 कैल्विन कूलेज व्हाइट हाउस से रेडियो संदेश प्रसारित करने वाले पहले अमेरिकि राष्ट्रपति बने।

1926 रवि के नाम से सुपरिचित हिंदी, मलयालम फिल्मों के प्रसिद्ध संगीतकार रवि शंकर शर्मा का दिल्ली में जन्म हुआ।

1931 मशहूर भारतीय शास्त्रीय संगीतज्ञ, गायक गुलाम मुस्तफा खान का जन्म बदायूं, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ। यह रामपुर-सहसवान घराने से संबद्ध थे। भारतीय शास्त्रीय संगीत-गायन में विलक्षण योगदान के लिए गुलाम मुस्तफा खान को भारत के प्रमुख नागरिक सम्मान पद्मश्री, पद्मभूषण तथा पद्मभिूषण प्रदान किये गये।

1938 सऊदी अरब में कच्चे तेल की खोज हुई।

1939 महात्मा गाँधी ने सविनय अवज्ञा आन्दोलन शुरु किया।

1943 महात्मा गांधी ने 21 दिन से चली आ रही भूख हड़ताल को समाप्त करने का फैसला किया।

1952 आंध्र प्रदेश और तेलंगाना के प्रमुख मुस्लिम राजनेता और तेलंगाना सरकार में मंत्री मोहम्मद अली का जन्म हैदराबाद में हुआ।

1955 अपने लेखन और अभिनय के जरिये समाज और सरकार की जनविरोधी नीतियों, विसंगतियों पर तीखे तंज कसने वाले तथा जनसमस्याओं को उठाने वाले भारत के प्रसिद्ध हास्य अभिनेता, लेखक, निर्देशक, निर्माता जसपाल भट्टी का जन्म हुआ।

1956 उत्तर अफ्रीकी देश मोरक्को को फ्रांस से आजादी मिली।

1964 जमीयत उलेमा ए हिंद के प्रमुख इस्लामिक विद्वान, सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता मौलाना असद मदनी का जन्म देवबंद, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ।

1966 बीबीसी ने अगले वर्ष से रंगीन टेलीविजन प्रसारण की योजना का ऐलान किया।

1967 जाने माने फिल्म संगीतकार और गायक तथा शंकर अहसान लाॅय संगीत तिकड़ी के सदस्य शंकर महादेवन का जन्म हुआ।

1974 भारत की प्रमुख प्राइवेट वित्त कंपनी इंडियाबुल्स के संस्थापक समीर गहलौत का जन्म रोहतक, हरियाणा में हुआ। 1974 में इसी दिन तुर्की एयरलाइंस का डीसी10 यात्री विमान पेरिस के निकट दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हुआ जिसमें लोगों की मौत हो गई।

1978 जाने माने फिल्मकार शोमू मुखर्जी की बेटी जानी मानी, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड हिंदी, तमिल, तेलुगू फिल्म अभिनेत्री तथा तनिशा मुखर्जी का बंबई में जन्म हुआं

1982 उर्दू साहित्य के लिए पहला ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्कार पाने वाले शायर, लेखक और आलोचक फिराक गोरखपुरी का निधन हुआ।

1983 सातवां गुटनिरपेक्ष सम्मेलन नयी दिल्ली में संपन्न हुआ।

1986 ऑस्ट्रेलिया अधिनियम 1986 लागू होने के साथ ही ऑस्ट्रेलिया ब्रिटेन से पूर्ण रूप से स्वतंत्र हुआ था।

1987 बाॅलीवुड के मशहूर खलनायक शक्ति कपूर की बेटी और आज की जानी मानी, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल श्रद्धा कपूर का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन मशहूर भारतीय अभिनेता, हास्य कलाकार, वीजे, वीडियो जाॅकी एवं टेलीविजन शो प्रस्तोता तथा माॅडल सिद्धार्थ भारद्वाज का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ।

1991 दक्षिण भारतीय फिल्मों की खूबसूरत, बोल्ड, लोकप्रिय अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल अरुंधति का जन्म बंगलौर में हुआ।

1999 अब्दुल रहमान अरब मूल के ऐसे प्रथम व्यक्ति बने जिन्हें इस्रायली सुप्रीम कोर्ट का न्यायाधीश बनाया गया।

2000 अंतर्राष्ट्रीय अपराध न्यायाधिकरण द्वारा क्रोएशिया के जनरल तिहोमिर ब्लास्किय को 45 साल कैद की सजा सुनाई गई।

2002 भारत के राजनेता और पूर्व लोकसभा अध्यक्ष जी.एम.सी. बालायोगी का आंध्र प्रदेश में हुई हेलिकॉप्टर दुर्घटना में देहांत हुआ।

2005 विश्व के नंबर एक शतरंज खिलाड़ी गैरी कास्पारोव ने शतरंज से पेशेवर रूप से अपनी सेवानिवृत्ति की घोषणा की है। इसी दिन यूक्रेन के राष्ट्रपति विक्टर यूशचेंकों की अध्यक्षता वाली राष्ट्रीय रक्षा परिषद ने इराक से अपने सैनिक वापस बुलाने का निर्णय लिया। इसी दिन अमेरिका के रोमांच प्रेमी स्टीव फोसेट ने बिना रुके विमान से लगातार 67 घंटे तक उड़ान भरकर पृथ्वी का चक्कर पूरा किया। इस दौरान उन्होंने विमान में ईंधन भी नहीं भराया।

2006 श्रीलंका के बल्लेबाज मुथैया मुरलीधरन ने अपना 100वां टेस्ट मैच खेलते हुए अपना 1000वां अंतरराष्ट्रीय विकेट हासिल किया। वे यह कारनामा करने वाले दुनिया के पहले गेंदबाज बने।

2007 पाकिस्तान ने हत्फ-2 अब्दाली बेलिस्टिक मिसाइल का परीक्षण किया।

2008 मेघालय में नई विधानसभा के लिए चुनाव में 75 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ। इसी दिन कन्या भ्रूण हत्या रोकने के लिए केन्द्र सरकार ने धन लक्ष्मी नामक नई योजना शुरू की। इसी दिन दक्षिणी अफगानिस्तान में नाटो व अफगान सुरक्षा बलों के अभियान में 22 आतंकी मारे गए।

2009 भारतीय स्टेट बैंक ने स्मार्ट यूनिट योजना लॉन्च की। इसी दिन पाकिस्तान के लाहौर में मैच खेलने जा रही श्रीलंकाई क्रिकेट टीम की बस पर हथियारबंद लोगों ने गोलियां चलाईं और इसी तारीख को राजस्थान के प्रसिद्ध उपन्यासकार, कहानीकार तथा नाटककार यादवेन्द्र शर्मा चन्द्र का निधन हुआ।

2011 संयुक्त राष्ट्र की एक रिपोर्ट में बताया गया कि आजकल विश्व खाद्य कीमतें 20 वर्षों में सबसे अधिक हैं।

2013 संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने 3 मार्च को ‘विश्व वन्य जीवन दिवस के रूप में मनाने की आधिकारिक घोषणा की।

2014 अंतरराष्ट्रीय अमीरों का लेखा-जोखा रखने वाली तथा इसकी सूचनाओं की जानकारी रखने वाली पत्रिका फोर्ब्स की सूची में दुनिया के सबसे अमीर व्यक्ति की जगह बिल गेट्स को दी गई। बिल वार्षिक रैंकिंग में दुनिया में सबसे अमीर व्यक्ति है। उनकी 76 बिलियन डाॅलर संपत्ति है। बिल ने विगत वर्ष के सबसे धनी व्यक्ति कार्लोस स्लिम को 4 बिलियन डाॅलर से पीछे छोड़ दिया।

2015 प्रसिद्ध बाल साहित्यकार डॉ. राष्ट्रबंधु, का निधन हुआ।

2002 Indian politician and former Lok Sabha Speaker G.M.C. Balayogi died in a helicopter crash in Andhra Pradesh.

2005 World number one chess player Garry Kasparov announces his retirement from chess professionally. On the same day, the National Defense Council, headed by the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, decided to withdraw its troops from Iraq. On this day, America's adventure lover Steve Fossett completed the round of the earth by flying continuously for 67 hours without stopping. During this, he did not even refuel the plane.

2006 Sri Lankan batsman Muttiah Muralitharan takes his 1000th international wicket while playing his 100th Test match. He became the first bowler in the world to do this feat.

2007 Pakistan tests Hatf-2 Abdali ballistic missile.
