1444 ग्जर्ज कैस्ट्रीओटी यानी स्कैंडरबेग ने तमाम राज्यों को एक साथ लाकर संगठन या लीग बनाया जो मुख्यतः अल्बानियाई रियासतों का एक गठबंधन था जिसके बाद पहले एकीकृत अल्बानियाई राज्य का गठन हुआ। स्कैंडरबेग इसके सबसे प्रभावशाली शासक हुए।

1316 स्काॅटलैंड के राजा हुए राबर्ट द्वितीय का जन्म हुआ।

1498 विश्व प्रसिद्ध पुर्तगाली यात्री वास्को डी गामा और उसका बेड़ा भारत की तरफ अपनी पहली यात्रा के दौरान मोज़ाम्बीक द्वीप पहुंचा।

1717 द लव ऑफ मार्स और वीनस का पहला बैले शो इंग्लैंड में किया गया।

1807 अमेरिकी कांग्रेस ने एक कानून पास कर देश में गुलामों के आयात पर रोक लगा दी। दास प्रथा की समाप्ति की दिशा में यह अहम कदम था।

1819 अमेरिका ने अपना पहला आव्रजन कानून पारित किया।

1836 टेक्सास ने मेक्सिको से अपनी आजादी की घोषणा की। बाद में टेक्सास संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में शामिल हुआ।

1852 प्रथम अमेरिकी प्रायोगिक भाप फायर इंजन का परीक्षण किया गया।

1853 प्रथम वस्त्र निर्माण कंपनी लेवी स्ट्रॉस एंड कंपनी संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में स्थापित की गयी।

1866 निडल कंपनी एक्सेलसियर ने सिलाई मशीन की सुई बनानी शुरू की।

1901 विश्व की प्रथम वायरलैस टेलीग्राफ कंपनी अमेरिका के हवाई में खुली।

1903 महिलाओं के लिए पहला होटल न्यूयॉर्क में शुरू किया गया।

1917 भारत के प्रमुख आर्किटेक्ट हुए लौरी बेकर का जन्म बरमिंघम, इंग्लैंड में हुआ। इसी दिन कट्टरपंथी हिंदू लेखक, वक्ता और ताजमहल सहित काबा, वेटिकन इत्यादि को अपने कुतर्कों से हिंदू मंदिर बताने वाले पुरुषोत्तम नागेश ओक का जन्म इंदौर में हुआ।

1918 सन 1948 में एसएस वासन की फिल्म चंद्रलेखा से अपने अभिनय की पहचान स्थापित करने वाले अभिनेता रंजन का जन्म मद्रास में हुआ।

1919 विश्व के प्रमुख वामपंथी बैठक मास्को में हुई।

1924 बाॅलीवुड के प्रमुख फिल्म निर्माता और फिल्म कारोबारी गुलशन राय का जन्म लाहौर, पाकिस्तान में हुआ।

1931 सोवियत नेता मिखाइल सर्गेइविच गोर्बाचेव का जन्म हुआ। अमेरिका-सोवियत संघ के बीच शीत युद्ध को खत्म करने और सोवियत संघ में सुधारों की शुरुआत करने का श्रेय गोर्बाचेव को जाता है। इन्होंने पेरेस्त्रोइका और ग्लास्तनोस्त यानी खुलेपन और आत्मनिर्णय का अधिकार नीतियां लाकर सोवियत संघ में शामिल राज्यों या देशों को सोवियत संघ से अलग होने का मार्ग खोला। इसके बाद के सोवियत संघ  के राष्ट्रपति बोरिस येल्तसिन के कार्यकाल में तमाम देशों ने सोवियत संघ से खुद को अलग कर लिया और सोवियत संघ खत्म हो गया। इसे अब रूस कहा जाता है। वर्तमान यूक्रेन उसी का एक राज्य था।

1932 पंजाब के राजने माने राजनीतिज्ञ बसंत सिंह खालसा का जन्म हुआ।

1933 मशहूर हॉलीवुड फिल्म किंग कॉन्ग रिलीज हुई। विलिस ओ-ब्रयान के खास स्पेशल इफेक्ट्स की वजह से ये फिल्म आज भी याद की जाती है। इस फिल्म को एनिमेटेड कैरेक्टर की फिल्मों में एक मील के पत्थर के रूप में माना जाता है।

1935 ऑस्ट्रियाई देश में विस्फोटक तस्करी के लिए 17 नाजी लोगों को मौत की सजा सुनाई गई। नाजी या नात्सी हिटलर की राजनीतिक विचारधारा वाले लोग हैं।

1946 विश्व प्रसिद्ध जुझारू नेता हो ची मिन्ह वियतनाम के राष्ट्रपति निर्वाचित हुए।

1949 हार्ट अटैक से 70 वर्ष की उम्र में लखनऊ में सरोजिनी नायडू का निधन हुआ। 1925 में वे कांग्रेस की पहली भारतीय महिला अध्यक्ष बनीं। वैसे तो कांग्रेस की पहली महिला अध्यक्ष एनी बीसेंट थीं, लेकिन वे विदेशी थीं। सरोजिनी नायडू इस पद तक पहुंचने वाली पहली भारतीय महिला थीं। भारत में प्लेग महामारी के दौरान सरोजिनी नायडू के बेहतरीन काम के लिए 1928 में उन्हें ‘केसर-ए-हिंद’ से सम्मानित किया गया। देश की आजादी के बाद उन्हें यूनाइटेड प्रोविंस (अब उत्तर प्रदेश) का राज्यपाल चुना गया। सरोजिनी नायडू देश की पहली महिला राज्यपाल थीं। अपने निधन तक वे इस पद पर रहीं।

1949 दुनिया की पहली ऑटोमैटिक स्ट्रीट लाइट अमेरिका में लगाई गई। यह लाइटिंग सिस्टम अंधेरा होने पर ऑन और जरूरत नहीं होने पर स्वतः ऑफ हो जाता था।

1956 मोरक्को ने फ्रांस की स्वतंत्रता की घोषणा की।

1958 फिल्म अभिनेता रजनीकांत की पत्नी जानी मानी, बोल्ड गायिका और फिल्म निर्मात्री लता रजनीकांत का जन्म मद्रास में हुआ।

1963 जाने माने तमिल, तेलुगू और मलयालम सिनेमा के संगीतकार और गायक विद्यासागर का जन्म विजयनगरम में हुआ।

1965 अमी बेरा के नाम से सुपरिचित अमेरिका में चिकित्सक और राजनीतिज्ञ तथा संसद सदस्य अमरीश बाबूलाल का जन्म लाॅस एंजेल्स में हुआ। इसी दिन द न्यूयॉर्क ऑफ द रिवाओली थिएटर में द साउंड ऑफ म्यूजिक फिल्म को परदे पर दिखाया गया।

1968 जेम्स बॉन्ड फिल्म सीरीज के छठें जेम्स बॉन्ड यानी डेनियल क्रेग का इंग्लैंड के चेस्टर में जन्म हुआ।

1969 सुपरसॉनिक विमान कॉनकॉर्ड ने पहली सफल उड़ान भरी। ये विमान टॉलूज (फ्रांस के शहर) से उड़ा था। 27 मिनट की अपनी उड़ान में विमान 10 हजार फीट की ऊंचाई तक गया। कहा जाता है कि ये विमान 2080 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार तक उड़ाया जा सकता था।

1970 अफ्रीकी महाद्वीप का देश रोडेशिया जिम्बाब्बे के नाम से स्वतंत्र गणराज्य बना।

1972 राजस्थान में राष्ट्रीय लोकतांत्रिक पार्टी के नेता और नागौर से लोकसभा सदस्य हनुमान बेनीवाल का जन्म बारांगांव में हुआ।

1973 खूबसूरत, बोल्ड जानी मानी फिल्म अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल विद्या मालवड़े का जन्म बंबई में हुआ। इन्होंने कुछ समय विमान परिचारिका यानी एयर होस्टेस का भी काम किया।

1981 पाकिस्तानी इंटरनेशनल एयरवेज फ्लाईट 326 को कराची से उड़न भरने के तुरंत बाद तीन बंदूकधारियों ने अपहरण कर लिया।

1982 बिहार की राजधानी पटना में महात्मा गांधी सेतु का उद्घाटन हुआ।

1983 तमिल और तेलुगू सिनेमा के जाने माने अभिनेता और माॅडल रवि कृष्ण का जन्म बंबई में हुआ। इसी दिन अमेरिका समेत दुनिया के कई देशों में सीडी यानी काॅम्पैक्ट डिस्क प्लेयर की बिक्री शुरू हुई। इससे पहले यह प्लेयर सिर्फ जापान में बिका करते थे।

1986 मणिकुट्टन के नाम से मशहूर मलयालम सिनेमा की प्रमुख हस्ती थाॅमस जेम्स का जन्म तिरुअनंतपुरम में हुआ।

1990 जाने माने भारतीय मार्शल आर्टिस्ट, नर्तक और अभिनेता टाइगर श्राफ का जन्म हुआ। वे जाने माने फिल्म अभिनेता जैकी श्राफ के बेटे हैं।

1993 विख्यात लेखक सलमान रुश्दी ने अपनी पत्नी मैरिएन विगिन्स को तलाक दिया।

1995 पेरू एवं इक्वाडोर के बीच चल रहे संघर्ष को समाप्त करने के लिए दोनों देशों के बीच में समझौता हुआ।

2006 भारत ने परमाणु शक्ति के सम्बन्ध में अमेरिका के साथ राष्ट्रपति जॉर्ज बुश के दिल्ली आगमन पर समझौता किया।

2009 पश्चिमी अफ्रीकी देश गिनी-बिसाउ के तीन बार के राष्ट्रपति जोआओ बर्नार्डो विएरा की सैनिकों ने हत्या कर दी। विएरा और गिनी की सेना के बीच जारी संघर्ष को इसका जिम्मेदार बताया गया।

2010 सिडनी गे एंड लेस्बियन मार्डी ग्रास द्वारा आयोजित कार्यक्रम में पांच हजार से अधिक लोगों ने सिडनी ओपेरा हॉउस के सामने सीढियों पर कपड़े उतारकर स्पेंसर ट्यूनिक नामक अमेरिकी फोटोग्राफर के लिए तस्वीरें खिंचवाईं।

2012 जर्मनी में अदालत ने एप्पल और सैमसंग के बीच पेटेंट का मुकदमा खारिज किया।

2014 राष्ट्रपति व्लादिमिर पुतिन के यूक्रेन में सेना भेजने के निर्णय को रुस की संसद से मंजूरी मिली।

1444 George Kastrioti i.e. Skanderbeg brings together all the kingdoms to form a confederation or league, which was a confederation of mainly Albanian principalities, after which the first united Albanian state was formed. Skanderbeg became its most influential ruler.

1316 Robert II, King of Scotland, was born.

1498 World famous Portuguese traveler Vasco da Gama and his fleet reach the island of Mozambique during their first voyage towards India.

1717 The first ballet show of The Love of Mars and Venus is performed in England.

1807 The US Congress passed a law prohibiting the importation of slaves into the country. This was an important step towards the end of slavery.

1819 America passed its first immigration law.

1836 Texas declares its independence from Mexico. Texas later joined the United States.

1852 The first American experimental steam fire engine was tested.

1853 Levi Strauss & Co., the first clothing manufacturing company, was established in the United States.

1866 Needle Company Excelsior begins making sewing machine needles.

1901 The world's first wireless telegraph company opened in Hawaii, USA.

1903 The first hotel for women was opened in New York.

1917 Laurie Baker, India's leading architect, was born in Birmingham, England. On the same day, Purushottam Nagesh Oak, a radical Hindu writer, orator and who called Kaaba, Vatican etc. along with Tajmahal as Hindu temples with his dogmas, was born in Indore.

1918 Actor Ranjan, who established his acting identity in SS Vasan's film Chandralekha in 1948, was born in Madras.

1919 The world's main leftist meeting took place in Moscow.

1924 Gulshan Rai, prominent Bollywood film producer and film businessman, was born in Lahore, Pakistan.

1931 Soviet leader Mikhail Sergeevich Gorbachev was born. Gorbachev is credited with ending the Cold War between the US and the Soviet Union and initiating reforms in the Soviet Union. By bringing Perestroika and Glastonost i.e. openness and right to self-determination policies, the states or countries included in the Soviet Union opened the way for separation from the Soviet Union. After this, during the tenure of the President of the Soviet Union, Boris Yeltsin, all the countries separated themselves from the Soviet Union and the Soviet Union came to an end. It is now called Russia. The present Ukraine was a state of that.

1932 Basant Singh Khalsa, noted politician of Punjab, was born.

1933 The famous Hollywood film King Kong was released. This film is still remembered today because of the special special effects of Willis O'Brien. The film is regarded as a milestone in animated character films.

1935 17 Nazis are sentenced to death for smuggling explosives in the Austrian countryside. Nazis or Nazis are people with the political ideology of Hitler.

1946 World famous militant leader Ho Chi Minh was elected President of Vietnam.

1949 Sarojini Naidu died in Lucknow at the age of 70 due to a heart attack. In 1925, she became the first Indian woman president of the Congress. Although the first woman president of the Congress was Annie Besant, but she was a foreigner. Sarojini Naidu was the first Indian woman to reach this position. Sarojini Naidu was awarded 'Kesar-e-Hind' in 1928 for her excellent work during the plague epidemic in India. 1965 Amrish Babulal, physician and politician and Member of Parliament in America, better known as Ami Bera, was born in Los Angeles. The same day the film The Sound of Music was screened at The Rivoli Theater in New York.

1968 The sixth James Bond of the James Bond film series, Daniel Craig, was born in Chester, England.

1969 The supersonic aircraft Concorde made its first successful flight. This plane had flown from Toulouse (city of France). In its 27-minute flight, the aircraft reached a height of 10,000 feet. It is said that this aircraft could be flown up to a speed of 2080 kilometers per hour.

1970 The country of the African continent Rhodesia became an independent republic in the name of Zimbabwe.

1972 Hanuman Beniwal, leader of the National Democratic Party in Rajasthan and Lok Sabha member from Nagaur, was born in Barangaon.

1973 Vidya Malvade, a beautiful, bold well-known film actress and model, was born in Bombay. She also worked as an air hostess for some time.

1981 Pakistan International Airways Flight 326 is hijacked by three gunmen shortly after take off from Karachi.

1982 Mahatma Gandhi Setu was inaugurated in Patna, the capital of Bihar.

1983 Ravi Krishna, well-known actor and model of Tamil and Telugu cinema, was born in Bombay. On this day CD ie Compact Disc player is sold in many countries of the world including America.

1986 Thomas James, a leading personality of Malayalam cinema, known as Manikuttan, was born in Thiruvananthapuram.

1990 Tiger Shroff, noted Indian martial artist, dancer, and actor, was born. He is the son of noted film actor Jackie Shroff.

1993 Noted author Salman Rushdie divorces his wife Marian Wiggins.

In 1995, an agreement was reached between the two countries to end the ongoing conflict between Peru and Ecuador.

2006 India signed an agreement with the US regarding nuclear power on the arrival of President George Bush in Delhi.

2009 Joao Bernardo Vieira, the three-time president of the West African country of Guinea-Bissau, is assassinated by soldiers. The ongoing conflict between Vieira and Guinea's military was attributed to this.

Organized by the 2010 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, over five thousand people stripped for photographs for American photographer Spencer Tunick on the steps in front of the Sydney Opera House.
