1635 ताइवान पर कब्जे के लिए डच औपनिवेशिक ताकतों ने ताइवान के आदिवासियों के खिलाफ दमन अभियान चलाया। तीन महीने का यह अभियान शांति अभियान बताया गया।

1718 समुद्री डाकू ब्लैकबर्ड उत्तरी केरोलिना के तट पर एक बोर्डिंग पार्टी ब्रिटिश नाविकों द्वारा युद्ध में मारा गया था, जिसने कैरेबियन में आतंक के शासन को समाप्त कर दिया।

1774 ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी के भारत में प्रथम गवर्नर राॅबर्ट क्लाइव का निधन हुआ।

1808 दुनिया की मशहूर ट्रेवल कंपनी थॉमस कुक एंड संस के संस्थापक थॉमस कुक का जन्म हुआ।

1830 चार्ल्स ग्रे ब्रिटेन के प्रधानमंत्री बने।

1830 झांसी की रानी लक्ष्मीबाई की मुख्य सैन्य सहयोगी झलकारी बाई का जन्म हुआ।

1864 भारत की प्रथम महिला चिकित्सक रुक्माबाई का जन्म हुआ।

1873 विख्यात ब्रिटिश भारतीय अधिकारी लियोपोल्ड चार्ल्स मौरिस स्टेननेट अमेरी का जन्म गोरखपुर में हुआ।

1877 पहला कॉलेज खेल अमेरिका में न्यूयॉर्क विश्वविद्यालय और मैनहट्टन कॉलेज के बीच खेला गया।

1882 भारत के प्रसिद्ध उद्योगपतियों में से एक वालचंद हीराचंद का जन्म हुआ।

1892 महात्मा गाँधी के सिद्धांतों से प्रभावित होकर खादी का प्रचार करनेवाली एवं गांधी की सहयोगी रही एक ब्रिटिश सैन्य अधिकारी की पुत्री मीरा बेन का जन्म हुआ था।

1915 मशहूर फिल्म अभिनेता, निर्माता, निर्देशक, पटकथा लेखक किशोर साहू का जन्म राजनादगांव, मध्य प्रदेश में हुआ। 

1920 हकीम अजमल खान जामिया मिल्लिया इस्लामिया विश्वविद्यालय के पहले चांसलर बने।

1933 फुजियान पीपुल्स सरकार चीन के फुजियान शहर में घोषित की गई।

1939 समाजवादी पार्टी के संस्थापक, केंद्र में रक्षा मंत्री और कई बार उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री रहे मुलायम सिंह यादव का जन्म हुआ।

1940 लोंगेवाल युद्ध में भारतीय सेना के नेतृत्वकर्ता, महावीर चक्र सम्मान प्राप्त ब्रिगेडियर कुलदीप सिंह चांदपुरी का जन्म मोंटगुमरी पाकिस्तान में हुआ। बार्डर फिल्म लोंगेवाल युद्ध से प्रेरित है।

1943 द्वितीय विश्वयुद्ध के दौरान जापान को हराने के लिए अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति फ्रैंकलिन डेलानो रूजवेल्ट, ब्रिटिश प्रधानमंत्री विंस्टन चर्चिल और चीनी शासक च्यांग काई शेक के बीच मंत्रणा हुई।

1948 दो सौ से भी अधिक फिल्मों की मशहूर डांस कोरियोग्राफर सरोज खान का जन्म बंबई में हुआ।

1950 अमेरिका के रिचमंड हिल्स में हुयी रेल दुर्घटना में 79 लोगों की मृत्यु हो गई।

1963 दो साल, 10 महीने और 2 दिन के लिए रहे अमेरिका के 35वें राष्ट्रपति जॉन एफ कैनेडी सबसे लोकप्रिय राष्ट्रपति में से एक हैं। महज 43 साल की उम्र में देश के राष्ट्रपति बने। अमेरिका के सबसे युवा राष्ट्रपतियों की लिस्ट में उनका नंबर दूसरा है। उनकी हत्या 1963 में 22 नवंबर के दिन अमेरिका के टैक्सास राज्य के डलास में उस वक्त कर दी गई, जब वे एक ओपन कार से जा रहे थे। कैनेडी को गोली मारने वाला पूर्व मरीन ली हार्वी ओसवाल्ड था। ओसवाल्ड को पुलिस ने गिरफ्तार कर लिया, लेकिन दो दिन बाद ही कैनेडी के एक समर्थक ने ओसवाल्ड की भी हत्या कर दी। इस घटना से अमेरिका के साथ ही पूरी दुनिया में खलबली मच गई। केनेडी की हत्या के बाद लिंडन बी जॉनसन को संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के 36 वें राष्ट्रपति के रूप में शपथ दिलाई गई। 

1963 संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के वायु सेना के पहले बी -2 स्टील्थ बॉम्बर को पहली बार कैलिफोर्निया के पामडेल में वायु सेना संयंत्र 42 में सार्वजनिक रूप से प्रदर्शित किया गया था। 1963 में इसी दिन नौकायन में भारत के प्रसिद्ध खिलाड़ी पुष्पेन्द्र कुमार गर्ग का जन्म हुआ।

1965 जाने माने फिल्म निर्देशक और लेखक संजय गढवी का जन्म हुआ।

1967 संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने 242वां प्रस्ताव पारित करके इजरायल द्वारा कब्जाई गई फिलिस्तीन की जमीन को वापस करने का निर्देश दिया।

मद्रास राज्य का नाम बदलकर तमिलनाडु करने के प्रस्ताव को 1968 में लोकसभा से स्वीकृति मिली।

1971 भारत और पाकिस्तान ने एक दूसरे की हवाई सीमाओं का उल्लंघन किया और दोनों देशों के बीच हवाई संघर्ष शुरू हुआ। 11 दिन बाद बांग्लादेश मुक्ति युद्ध शुरू हुआ।

1975 फ्रांसिस्को फ्रेंको की मृत्यु के दो दिन बाद, जुआन कार्लोस प्रथम को फ्रेंको द्वारा प्रख्यापित उत्तराधिकार के कानून के अनुसार स्पेन का राजा घोषित किया गया।

1977 ब्रिटिश एयरवेज ने नियमित रूप से लंदन से न्यूयॉर्क शहर तक की सुपरसोनिक कॉनकॉर्ड सेवा का उद्घाटन किया।

1984 विश्व विख्यात अमेरिकी अभिनेत्री स्कारलेट जोहान्सन का जन्म हुआ। स्कारलेट सर्वाधिक पारिश्रमिक लेने वाली एवं फोर्ब्स मैग्जीन की दुनिया की 100 टाॅप हस्तियों में शुमार कलाकार हैं।

1986 जाने माने बाॅलीवुड फिल्म और टेलीविजन अभिनेता तथा माॅडल रवीश देसाई का जन्म बंबई में हुआ। इसी दिन विश्व विख्यात अमेरिकी मुक्केबाज माइक टायसन ने अमेरिका के लास वेगास में ट्रेवर बरबिक को हराकर अपना पहला मुक्केबाजी खिताब जीता।

1989 जानी मानी खूबसूरत, बोल्ड टेलीविजन अभिनेत्र एवं माॅडल विंध्या तिवारी का जन्म वाराणसी में हुआ। इसी दिन लखनऊ में जानी मानी, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड टेलीविजन अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल शीतल सिंह का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन एक बड़ी खगोलीय घटना में मंगल, शुक्र, शनि, यूरेनस, नेप्च्यून और चंद्रमा एक ही सीध में आये।

1990 ब्रिटिश प्रधानमंत्री मार्गरेट थैचर ने अपने त्यागपत्र की घोषणा की घोषणा की और इसी दिन जाने-माने बाॅलीवुड फिल्म अभिनेता कार्तिक आर्यन का जन्म हुआ।

1993 बेहद बोल्ड, खूबसूरत, जानी मानी तमिल, तेलुगू और विविध भाषाओं की फिल्मों एवं वेब सीरीज की अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल त्रिधा चौधरी का जन्म कलकत्ता में हुआ।

1995 टॉय स्टोरी, केवल कंप्यूटर-जनरेटेड इमेजरी का उपयोग करके बनाई गई पहली फीचर फिल्म थी।

1997 भारत की डायना हेडेन विश्व सुंदरी बनी। उनका जन्म हैदराबाद में हुआ और उन्होंने यूनाइटेड किंगडम की रॉयल एकेडमी ऑफ ड्रामेटिक आर्ट में पढ़ाई की थी। मिस वर्ल्ड बनने वाली डायना तीसरी भारतीय महिला थीं। उनसे पहले रीता फारिया और 1994 में ऐश्वर्या राय ने यह खिताब जीता था। डायना के बाद तीन और भारतीय महिलाएं मिस वर्ल्ड बन चुकी हैं। 1999 में युक्ता मुखी, 2000 में प्रियंका चोपड़ा और 2017 में हरियाणा की मानुषी छिल्लर विश्व सुंदरी चुनी गईं।

1998 बांग्लादेश की विवादास्पद लेखिका तस्लीमा नसरीन ने ढाका की अदालत में आत्मसमर्पण किया।

2000 पाकिस्तान व ईरान पर संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका द्वारा प्रतिबंध। 2002 मिस वर्ल्ड प्रतियोगिता के आयोजन के विरोध में नाइजीरिया में भड़के दंगे में सैंकड़ों लोग मारे गये।

2005 हिंदी के प्रख्यात कवि कुंवर नारायण को वर्ष ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्कार हेतु चुना गया।

2005 जर्मनी की सीडीयू पार्टी की एंजेला मर्केल जर्मनी की पहली महिला चांसलर बनीं।

2006 भारत और वैश्विक कंसोर्टियन के छह अन्य देशों ने सूर्य की तरह ऊर्जा पैदा करने वाले प्राथमिक फ्यूजन रिएक्टर की स्थापना करने के लिए पेरिस में ऐतिहासिक समझौता किया।

2007 ब्रिटेन में अवैध प्रवासी की समस्या पर काबू पाने के लिए कड़ी घोषणायें की गईं।

2008  भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के कप्तान महेन्द्र सिंह धोनी ने अपना पद छोड़ने की धमकी दी।

2011 बुलोबोफिल्म नोक्टर्नम, एक ऑर्किड वैज्ञानिकों द्वारा खोजा गया है, न्यू ब्रिटेन में पापुआ गिनी गिनी के तट पर। यह पहला ऑर्किड है जिसे रात में खिलने के लिए जाना जाता है।

2014 बहरीन में पहली बार आयोजित संसदीय चुनावों के लिए जनता ने मतदान में प्रतिभाग किया।

2016 उत्तर प्रदेश में मुख्यमंत्री और मध्य प्रदेश में राज्यपाल रहे कांग्रेस नेता राम नरेश यादव का निधन हुआ। इसी दिन विख्यात हिंदी एवं भोजपुरी साहित्यकार विवेकी राय का निधन हुआ।

2020 जी-20 देशों की दो दिवसीय वर्चुअल समिट (आभासी यानी वीडियो कांफ्रेंसिंग बैठक) खत्म हुई। इसमें सभी के लिए कोरोना वैक्सीन उपलब्ध कराने पर सहमति जताई गई।

1830 Charles Gray becomes Prime Minister of Britain.

1830 Jhalkari Bai, chief military aide of Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi, was born.

1864 Rukmabai, India's first female doctor, was born.

1873 Leopold Charles Maurice Stennett Amery, noted British Indian officer, was born in Gorakhpur.

Mahavir Chakra awardee Brigadier Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri, leader of the Indian Army in the 1940 Battle of Longewal, was born in Montgomery, Pakistan. The film Border is inspired by the Battle of Longewal.

1943 Consultations between US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Chinese Emperor Chiang Kai-shek on defeating Japan during World War II.

1948 Saroj Khan, famous dance choreographer of more than two hundred films, was born in Bombay.

1950: 79 people died in a train accident in Richmond Hills, USA.

1963 John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States for two years, 10 months and 2 days, is one of the most popular presidents. Became the President of the country at the age of just 43. His number is second in the list of America's youngest presidents. He was murdered in 1963 on November 22 in Dallas, Texas, USA, when he was traveling in an open car. The man who shot Kennedy was Lee Harvey Oswald, a former Marine. Oswald was arrested by the police, but two days later a Kennedy supporter killed Oswald as well. This incident created panic in America as well as in the whole world. Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in as the 36th President of the United States after Kennedy's assassination.

1963 The first B-2 stealth bomber of the United States Air Force is displayed publicly for the first time at Air Force Plant 42 in Palmdale, California. On this day in 1963, India's famous rower Pushpendra Kumar Garg was born.

1965 Sanjay Gadhvi, noted film director and writer, was born.

In 1967, the United Nations passed resolution 242, directing Israel to return the occupied Palestinian land.

The proposal to change the name of Madras State to Tamil Nadu was approved by the Lok Sabha in 1968.

1971 India and Pakistan violate each other's air borders and an air conflict begins between the two countries. Bangladesh Liberation War started 11 days later.

1975 Two days after the death of Francisco Franco, Juan Carlos I is proclaimed King of Spain in accordance with the law of succession promulgated by Franco.

1977 British Airways inaugurates regular supersonic Concorde service from London to New York City.

1986 Ravish Desai, noted Bollywood film and television actor and model, was born in Bombay. On the same day world famous American boxer Mike Tyson won his first boxing title by defeating Trevor Berbick in Las Vegas, USA.

1989 Vindhya Tiwari, well-known beautiful, bold television actress and model, was born in Varanasi. On this day, well known, beautiful, bold television actress and model Sheetal Singh was born in Lucknow. On this day, in a big astronomical event, Mars, Venus, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Moon came in the same line.

1990 British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher announced the announcement of her resignation and on this day well-known Bollywood film actor Karthik Aryan was born.

1993 Very bold, beautiful, well-known Tamil, Telugu and various language films and web series actress and model Tridha Chowdhary was born in Calcutta.

1995's Toy Story was the first feature film made using only computer-generated imagery.

1997 Diana Hayden of India became Miss World. He was born in Hyderabad and studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in the United Kingdom. Diana was the third Indian woman to become Miss World. Before her, Rita Faria and Aishwarya Rai won this title in 1994. After Diana, three more Indian women have become Miss World. Yukta Mookhey in 1999, Priyanka Chopra in 2000 and Manushi Chhillar of Haryana were elected Miss World in 2017.

1998: Controversial Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen surrenders in a Dhaka court.

2000 Sanctions by the United States on Pakistan and Iran. Hundreds of people were killed in riots that broke out in Nigeria to protest the holding of the 2002 Miss World pageant.

2005 Eminent Hindi poet Kunwar Narayan was selected for the year Jnanpith Award.

2005 Angela Merkel of Germany's CDU party becomes the first female Chancellor of Germany.

2011. Bulbophyllum nocturnum, an orchid, has been discovered by scientists, off the coast of Papua New Guinea in New Britain. It is the first orchid known to bloom at night.

In 2014, the public participated in the voting for the first parliamentary elections held in Bahrain.

2016 Congress leader Ram Naresh Yadav, Chief Minister in Uttar Pradesh and Governor in Madhya Pradesh, passed away. Famous Hindi and Bhojpuri writer Viveki Rai passed away on this day.
