1952 यूनाइटेड किंगडम यानी ग्रेट ब्रिटेन के नरेश जार्ज छठवें के निधन के बाद 26 साल की एलिजाबेथ द्वितिय ने इंग्लैंड की महारानी पदभार ग्रहण किया। 21 अप्रैल 1926 में एलिजाबेथ अलेक्जेंड्रा मेरी का जन्म हुआ था। एलिजाबेथ द्वितिय 18 साल की उम्र में दूसरे विश्व युद्ध के दौरान सेना में ड्राइवर बनीं। 1947 में उन्होंने फिलिप माउंटबेटन से शादी की। 1952 में केन्या में उनके पिता का अचानक निधन हो गया। जिसके बाद एलिजाबेथ को ब्रिटेन की महारानी घोषित किया गया। 2 जून 1953 को उनका राजतिलक किया गया।

1958 मैनचेस्टर यूनाइटेड फुटबॉल क्लब के सदस्यों और पत्रकारों आदि को लेकर विमान पश्चिम जर्मनी के म्यूनिख-रीम हवाई अड्डे से उड़ान भरने के दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गया, जिसमें आठ खिलाड़ी और 15 अन्य लोग मारे गए।

1959 भारत में केरल उच्च न्यायालय के न्यायाधीश के रूप में अन्ना चांडी को नियुक्त किया गया। वह उच्च न्यायालय में नियुक्त होने वाली पहली महिला न्यायाधीश बनी।

1965 बिहार के रोहतास जिले में जाने माने पत्रकार, शिवसेना और कांग्रेस के नेता संजय निरुपम का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन स्वतंत्रता सेनानी एवं पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री हुए प्रताप सिंह कैरों का निधन हुआ।

1970 जानी मानी बंगाली फिल्म अभिनेत्री चुमकी चौधरी का जन्म कलकत्ता में हुआ।

1971 अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नासा ने 31 जनवरी 1971 को अपना 8वां मून मिशन अपोलो-14 लॉन्च किया था। अपोलो-14 लॉन्चिंग के करीब एक हफ्ते बाद 06 फरवरी 1971 को चंद्रमा पर लैंड हुआ था। इस मून मिशन में तीन लोगों एलन शेफर्ड, स्टुअर्ट रूसा और एडगर मिशेल ने चांद की सैर की थी। एलन शेफर्ड गोल्फर थे और वह गोल्फ स्टिक और गोल्फ बॉल अपने साथ ले गए थे। चांद पर लैंडिंग के बाद अपना काम खत्म करके एलन शेफर्ड ने वहां 6 फरवरी 1971 को गोल्फ खेलते हुए दो गेंदों को हिट किया था। इसके साथ ही वह चांद की धरती पर गोल्फ खेलने वाले पहले इंसान बन गए। अपोलो-14 मिशन 9 दिन 2 मिनट का था। इस मिशन के दौरान शेफर्ड और एडगर ने चांद पर 9 घंटे 24 मिनट का समय बिताया था, जो चांद पर सबसे ज्यादा समय बिताने का रिकॉर्ड है। इस मिशन के दौरान अंतरिक्षयात्री अपने साथ 42 किलो मिट्टी और 450 करोड़ साल पुराना क्रिस्टेलाइन रॉक का नमूना भी लेकर आए थे, जो एकदम सफेद रंग का था। अमेरिका स्पेस एजेंसी नासा ने चांद पर गोल्फ खेले जाने की घटना के 50 साल बाद अपने ट्विटर हैंडल पर तस्वीरें शेयर करते हुए चांद पर खेली गई गेदों की लोकेशन बताई थी। बताया जाता है कि नासा ने इमेजिंग एक्सपर्ट एंडी सॉन्डर्स की मदद से चंद्रमा की सतह पर गेंद की सही लोकेशन का पता लगाया था। सॉन्डर्स ने गेंद की लोकेशन का पता अपोलो-14 की तस्वीरों से लगाया। नासा के वैज्ञानिक ये भी बताने में कामयाब रहे कि गेंद गोल्फ स्टिक से हिट किए जाने के बाद चांद की सतह पर कितनी दूर जाकर गिरी। नासा के मुताबिक, पहली गेंद 24 गज दूर जबकि दूसरी गेंद 40 गज दूर जाकर गिरी थी।

1976 कला, अर्थपूर्ण, कालजयी फिल्मों के लिए अत्यंत प्रतिष्ठित भारतीय लेखक और फिल्म निर्देशक ऋत्विक घटक का निधन हुआ।

1981 ब्रिटेन के राज परिवार के महल बकिंघम पैलेस में प्रिंस ऑफ वेल्स यानी राजकुमार चाल्र्स ने लेडी डायना स्पेंसर से विवाह का प्रस्ताव रखा।

2002 पाकिस्तान में अमेरिकी पत्रकार डेनियल पर्ल अपहरण कांड में जैश-ए-मोहम्मद के उमर शेख की तलाश शुरु। इसी दिन भारत के अनुसार उसने सीमा में घुस आए पाकिस्तान के जासूसी विमान को मार गिराया।

2003 अमेरिकी सीनेट की विदेश संबंध समिति ने रूस के साथ परमाणु हथियार संधि का अनुमोदन किया। इसी दिन रुस ने संयुक्त राष्ट्र की अनुमति के बगैर इराक के खिलाफ सैनिक कार्रवाई किए जाने पर अमेरिका को चेतावनी दी। इसी दिन 2003 नाइजीरिया की प्रथम महिला और महिला जननांग विकृति के खिलाफ अभियान की प्रवक्ता स्टेला ओबासंजो ने पारंपरिक प्रथाओं पर अंतर-अफ्रीकी समिति के सम्मेलन में अफ्रीका में एफजीएम के प्रति शून्य सहनशीलता पर आधिकारिक घोषणा की। महिलाओं और बच्चों के स्वास्थ्य को प्रभावित करने वाले इस मसले पर तब मानवाधिकार पर संयुक्त राष्ट्र उप-आयोग ने इस दिन को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय जागरूकता दिवस के रूप में अपनाया, इस दिवस को नाम दिया महिला जननांग विकृति के लिए शून्य सहनशीलता का अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस। यह शारीरिक विकृति की शिकार महिलाओं के खिलाफ भेदभाव, उत्पीड़न और नफरत खत्म करने के लिए

2022 कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी द्वारा गोवा के लिए जारी कांग्रेस के चुनावी घोषणापत्र का जिक्र करते हुए प्रियंका ने भरोसा दिलाया कि राज्य सरकार की नौकरियों में महिलाओं को 30 फीसदी आरक्षण दिया जाएगा। कांग्रेस महासचिव ने यह भी कहा कि राज्य में रोजगार सृजन के लिए सरकारी कोष से 500 करोड़ रुपये जारी किए जाएंगे। प्रियंका गांधी ने कहा कि न्याय योजना के तहत पिछड़े तबके के परिवारों को 6000 रुपये प्रति माह की आर्थिक मदद दी जाएगीए जिससे उन्हें गुजर.बसर करने में मदद मिलेगी और अर्थव्यवस्था में पूंजी का प्रवाह भी होगा। कांग्रेस ने मडगांव और पणजी में कामकाजी महिलाओं के लिए छात्रावास बनाने तथा महिलाओं के नेतृत्व वाले पुलिस थानों की संख्या में वृद्धि करने का आश्वासन दिया है। पार्टी ने यह भी घोषणा की है कि पेट्रोल.डीजल की कीमतों को 80 रुपये प्रति लीटर से ऊपर नहीं जाने दिया जाएगा और अतिरिक्त राशि पर पार्टी सब्सिडी देगी। इसी दिन चीन की चर्चित टेनिस खिलाड़ी पेंग शुआई ने सोमवार को एक नपा तुला इंटरव्यू दिया जिसमें उन्होंने पहले लगाए गये आरोपों पर उन्होंने लगभग अपना मुहं बंद रखा। कुछ समय पहले चीन की सत्तारूढ कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी के एक सदस्य के खिलाफ लगाये गए यौन उत्पीड़न के आरोपों के बाद दुनिया भर में उसकी कुशलक्षेम को लेकर जताई जा रही चिंता को उसने बड़ी गलतफहमी का नतीजा बताया। चीन की ओलंपिक समिति के एक अधिकारी के सामने लिये गए इस इंटरव्यू में पेंग ने कई सवालों के जवाब नहीं दिये। अखबार ने नवंबर में पेंग की उस सोशल मीडिया पोस्ट के बारे में पूछा जिसमें उन्होंने चीन के पूर्व उप प्रधानमंत्री और सत्तारूढ़ चीनी कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी के पोलितब्यूरो की स्थायी समिति के सदस्य झांग गाओली पर यौन उत्पीड़न का आरोप लगाया था। पेंग ने अखबार से कहा कि यौन उत्पीड़न ! मैने कभी ऐसा कुछ नहीं कहा। यह बहुत बड़ी गलतफहमी है। उस पोस्ट के अब कोई मायने नहीं निकाले जाने चाहिये। वह पोस्ट पेंग के अकाउंट से तुरंत हटा दी गई। इस बारे में पेंग ने कहा, मैने उसे हटाया। पेंग ने इन सवालों का कोई सीधे जवाब नहीं दिया कि क्या चीनी सरकार ने उस पर दबाव बनाया है। इसी दिन भारत के सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने अधिकारियों को रियल स्टेट फर्म सुपरटेक लिमिटेड के दिल्ली से सटे नोएडा में स्थित एमेराल्ड कोर्ट परियोजना के 40 मंजिला ट्विन टावर को ध्वस्त करने की कार्रवाई दो हफ्ते के अंदर शुरू करने का निर्देश दिया। जस्टिस डीवाई चंद्रचूड़ और जस्टिस सूर्यकांत की पीठ ने नोएडा (नोएडा की फुल फार्म न्यू ओखला इंडस्ट्रियल डेवलपमेंट अथाॅरिटी है।) के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी को 72 घंटे के अंदर एक बैठक बुलाने का भी निर्देश दिया, जिसमें सभी संबद्ध एजेंसियां उपस्थित रहें। पीठ ने कहा कि सीईओ नोएडा इस न्यायालय के निर्देशों का अनुपालन करने के लिए सभी आवश्यक कदम उठाएंगेए इस आदेश के दो हफ्ते के अंदर ध्वस्त करने का कार्य शुरू किया जाए।

2023 भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस के नेताओं, कार्यकर्ताओं, समर्थकों ने हिमाचल प्रदेश में भारतीय स्टेट बैंक के कार्यालयों के समक्ष सोमवार को धरना दिया और अडाणी समूह के खिलाफ हिंडनबर्ग रिपोर्ट में लगाये गये आरोपों की निष्पक्ष जांच की मांग की। कांग्रेसनेताओं ने मामले की जांच भारत के प्रधान न्यायाधीश की निगरानी में अथवा संयुक्त संसदीय समिति (जेपीसी) से कराये जाने की मांग की। कांग्रेस नेताओं ने आरोप लगाया कि सरकार सभी सरकारी संपत्तियों को बेच रही है और कुछ चुनिंदा उद्योगपतियों को इसका लाभ दे रही है। प्रदेश कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष प्रतिभा सिंह ने बताया कि राष्ट्रव्यापी विरोध प्रदर्शन का आह्वान अखिल भारतीय कांग्रेस कमेटी ने किया है। कांग्रेस नेताओं ने आरोप लगाया कि मोदी सरकार ने जनता के निवेश को जोखिम में डाल दिया है। प्रतिभा ने कहा कि भारतीय जीवन बीमा निगम (एलआईसी) और बैंकों ने अडाणी समूह में क्रमशरू 26500 करोड़ तथा 80 हजार करोड़ रुपये का निवेश किया है, और कांग्रेस को उन लोगों की चिंता है जिन्होंने अपनी गाढ़ी कमाई एलआईसी और बैंकों में जमा की हुई है। अमेरिका की शॉर्ट सेलर ‘हिंडनबर्ग रिसर्च’ की रिपोर्ट में गौतम अडाणी की अगुवाई वाले समूह पर धोखाधड़ी वाले लेनदेन और शेयर की कीमतों में हेरफेर का आरोप लगाया गया था। उसके बाद से समूह की कंपनियों के शेयरों में गिरावट का सिलसिला शुरू हो गया। कांग्रेस समेत विपक्षी दलों ने आरोप लगाया है कि अडाणी समूह के शेयरों में मंदी का दौर है जो एक घोटाला है जिसमें आम लोगों का पैसा लगा है।

1971 American space agency NASA launched its 8th Moon mission Apollo-14 on January 31, 1971. Apollo-14 landed on the Moon on 06 February 1971, about a week after its launch. In this Moon mission, three people Alan Shepherd, Stuart Roosa and Edgar Mitchell visited the Moon. Alan Shepherd was a golfer and he carried golf sticks and golf balls with him. After completing his work after landing on the moon, Alan Shepherd hit two balls while playing golf there on February 6, 1971. With this he became the first person to play golf on the lunar surface. The Apollo-14 mission lasted 9 days and 2 minutes. During this mission, Shepherd and Edgar spent 9 hours 24 minutes on the moon, which is the record for the most time spent on the moon. During this mission, the astronauts also brought with them 42 kg of soil and a sample of 450 crore year old crystalline rock, which was completely white in color. America Space Agency NASA, 50 years after the incident of golf being played on the Moon, shared the pictures on its Twitter handle and revealed the location of the golf balls played on the Moon. It is said that NASA had found out the exact location of the ball on the surface of the moon with the help of imaging expert Andy Saunders. Saunders determined the ball's location from Apollo 14 photographs. NASA scientists were also able to tell how far the ball fell on the lunar surface after being hit with a golf stick. According to NASA, the first ball fell 24 yards away while the second ball fell 40 yards away.
