1531 बेसल, स्विटजरलैंड में प्रसिद्ध इलेक्टोरल पैलेटिनेट कैल्विनवादी परंपरा में एक जर्मन प्रोटेस्टेंट सुधारक जोहान्स ओकोलाम्पाडियस का निधन हुआ।

1542 एंग्लो-स्कॉटिश युद्ध में इंग्लैंड ने सोल्वे मॉस की लड़ाई में अपनी जीत के साथ लगभग 1200 स्कॉटिश लोगों को बंदी बना लिया।

1583 प्रसिद्ध स्पेनिश कवि और चित्रकार जुआन मार्टिनेज डी जाउरेगुई वाई एगुइलर का जन्म हुआ।

1642 हाबिल तस्मान की अगुवाई में एक डच अभियान वर्तमान तस्मानिया, ऑस्ट्रेलिया में पहुंचा।

1675 सिखों के नौवें गुरु गुरु तेग बहादुर का निधन चांदनी चौक दिल्ली में हुआ। सिख इस दिन उनका बलिदान दिवस मनाते हैं।

1759 इटली में विसूवियस पर्वत शिखर पर ज्वालामुखी विस्फोट हुआ।

1859 चार्ल्स डार्विन की किताब ऑन द ओरिजन ऑफ स्पेशीज बाय मीन्स ऑफ नेचुरल सिलेक्शन 24 नवंबर 1859 को ही प्रकाशित हुई। इस किताब में एक अध्याय था, थ्योरी ऑफ इवोल्यूशन। इसमें बताया गया कि कैसे हम बंदर से इंसान बने। चार्ल्स डार्विन का मानना था कि हम सभी के पूर्वज एक हैं। डार्विन ने सिद्धांत दिया कि हमारे पूर्वज बंदर थे। कुछ बंदर अलग जगह अलग तरह से रहने लगे, इस कारण धीरे-धीरे जरूरतों के अनुसार उनमें बदलाव आने शुरू हो गए। उनमें आए बदलाव उनके आगे की पीढ़ी में दिखने लगे। डार्विन ने समझाया कि ओरंगउटान (बंदरों की एक प्रजाति) का एक बेटा पेड़ पर, तो दूसरा जमीन पर रहने लगा। जमीन पर रहने वाले बेटे ने खुद को जिंदा रखने के लिए नई कलाएं सीखीं। उसने खड़ा होना, दो पैरों पर चलना, दो हाथों का उपयोग करना सीखा। पेट भरने के लिए शिकार करना और खेती करना सीखा। इस तरह ओरंगउटान का एक बेटा बंदर से इंसान बन गया। ये बदलाव एक-दो सालों में नहीं आया बल्कि इसके लिए करोड़ों साल लग गए।

1871 अमेरिका की नेशनल राइफल एसोसिएशन एनवाईसी का गठन हुआ।

1872 कपूरथला राज्य के राजा जगजीत सिंह साहब बहादुर का जन्म कपूरथला में हुआ।

1874 अमेरिकी किसान और कारोबारी जोसेफ फरवेल ग्लिडन ने वाणिज्यिक रूप से सफल कांटेदार तार का आविष्कार कर उसका पेटेंट हासिल किया।

1877 डिप्टी कमिश्नर बनने वाले पहले हिंदुस्तानी कवासाजी जमशेदजी पेटिगरा का जन्म हुआ।

1881 गढ़ी सांपला-किलोई विधानसभा क्षेत्र में सर छोटूराम का जन्म हुआ। वे भारत के स्वाधीनता सेनानी तथा राजनेता थे। इन्होंने सफल किसान आंदोलन किया और दलितों, पिछड़ों, अल्पसंख्यकों के अधिकारों के प्रमुख समर्थक थे। इन्हें नाइट की उपाधि मिली। इन्होंने डाॅ. भीमराव अंबेडकर की मुहिमों का समर्थन किया।

1886 इंडियानापोलिस, इंडियाना, संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में मार्गरेट कैरोलिन एंडरसन का जन्म हुआ जो कला और साहित्यिक पत्रिका द लिटिल रिव्यू की संस्थापक, संपादक और प्रकाशक थीं। लेखन और विविध कला प्रेमियों में लोकप्रिय इस पत्रिका ने 1914 और 1929 के बीच आधुनिक अमेरिकी, अंग्रेजी और आयरिश लेखकों की रचनाओं के संग्रह भी छापे।

1899 प्रसिद्ध राजनीतिज्ञ तथा राजस्थान के प्रथम मुख्यमंत्री हीरा लाल शास्त्री का जन्म हुआ।

1929 भारत के प्रमुख मुस्लिम राजनीतिज्ञों में से एक बिहार, मध्य प्रदेश और उत्तर प्रदेश के राज्यपाल हुए मोहम्मद शफी कुरैशी का जन्म हुआ।

1935 सलीम खान के नाम से मशहूर प्रमुख बाॅलीवुड फिल्मकार, अभिनेता एवं पटकथा लेखक सलीम अब्दुल राशिद खान इंदौर में हुआ।

1936 प्रमुख नेत्री एवं असम की प्रथम एवं एक मात्र महिला मुख्यमंत्री हुईं सैयदा अनवरा तैमूर का जन्म 1936 में हुआ।

1941 विख्यात ब्रिटिश संगीत बैंड द बीटल्स के प्रमुख ड्रमवादक, संगीतकार रैंडोल्फ पीटर बेस्ट का जन्म मद्रास में हुआ।

1943 मनमोहन सिंह सरकार में योजना आयोग के अध्यक्ष रहे एवं नौकरशाह साथ ही अर्थशास्त्री मोंटेक सिंह अहलूवालिया का जन्म रावलपिंडी पाकिस्तान में हुआ।

1944 प्रसिद्ध फिल्म अभिनेता और फिल्म निर्देशक अमोल पालेकर का जन्म हुआ। थिएटर से फिल्मों में आए इस अभिनेता ने बेहतरी अभिनय किया। यह अपनी जनपक्षधरता के लिए जाने जाते हैं।

1950 मध्य प्रदेश के 18वें मुख्यमंत्री, प्रमुख कांग्रेस नेता की पत्नी कांग्रेस नेत्री, लोकसभा सदस्य रहीं और सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता अल्का नाथ का अमृतसर में जन्म हुआ।

1955 इंग्लैंड के पूर्व टेस्ट कप्तान और बाद में कमेंटेटर हुए इयान बॉथम का जन्म हुआ।

1960 टाइगर मेमन के नाम से मशहूर गैंगस्टर और आतंकवादी कहे गये इब्राहिम मुश्ताक अब्दुल रज्जाक मेमन का जन्म बंबई में हुआ। यह एक और मशहूर आतंकी याकूब मेमन के भाई हैं।

1961 मेघालय की राजधानी शिलौंग में सुजाना अरुंधति रॉय का जन्म हुआ। वे विश्व प्रसिद्ध भारतीय लेखिका हैं जिन्हें उनके उपन्यास द गॉड ऑफ स्मॉल थिंग्स को वैश्विक पहचान मिली। इस उपन्यास को 1997 में फिक्शन के लिए ब्रिटेन का प्रतिष्ठित बुकर पुरस्कार मिला और यह किताब एक गैर-प्रवासी भारतीय लेखक की सबसे ज्यादा बिकने वाली किताब बन गई। अरुंधति रॉय मानवाधिकारों और पर्यावरणीय मुद्दों से जुड़ी एक राजनीतिक कार्यकर्ता भी हैं। नर्मदा बचाओ आंदोलन और तमाम जन आंदोलनों में भागीदारी करती रही हैं।

1963 अमेरिका के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति जॉन फिटजेराल्ड कैनेडी के हत्यारे ली हार्वे ऑस्वाल्ड की हत्या की गई। हमलावर ने डलास थाने में उसे बहुत करीब से गोली मारी.

1966 कांगो की राजधानी किंसासा में पहला टीवी स्टेशन खुला।

1969 अपोलो-12 का चंद्रयान 24 नवंबर दोपहर 3 बज कर 58 मिनट और 24 सेकंड पर प्रशांत महासागर में गिरा। 

1970 लॉन्ग बीच, कैलिफोर्निया, संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में जूलियट वेनेगास पर्सेवॉल्ट का जन्म हुआ। वे लोकप्रिय अमेरिकी मूल की मैक्सिकन गायिका, गीतकार, संगीतज्ञ और संगीत निर्माता हैं जो स्पेनिश में पॉप-रॉक-इंडी गाती हैं। वह मैक्सिकन स्का बैंड तिजुआना नो! सहित कई बैंडों में शामिल रहीं। वेनेगास ध्वनिक गिटार, अकॉर्डियन और कीबोर्ड सहित 17 वाद्ययंत्र बजाती हैं।

1981 मिस इंडिया 2001 और मिस यूनिवर्स 2001 की चौथी रनर अप जानी-मानी फिल्म अभिनेत्री, माॅडल सेलिना जेटली का जन्म शिमला में हुआ।

1982 बराक हुसैन ओबामा सीनियर का निधन हुआ। ओबामा सीनियर केन्या के वरिष्ठ सरकारी अर्थशास्त्री और संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के 44वें राष्ट्रपति बराक ओबामा के पिता थे। वह अपने बेटे के संस्मरण, ड्रीम्स फ्रॉम माई फादर में एक केंद्रीय व्यक्ति हैं। ओबामा ने 1954 में शादी की और उनकी पहली पत्नी केजिया से उनके दो बच्चे हैं जिनमें से एक अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति हुए बराक ओबामा का जन्म 4 अगस्त 1961 को होनोलूलू, हवाई, अमेरिका के एक जच्चा-बच्चा अस्पताल में हुआ। इसी दिन जाने माने भारतीय क्रिकेटर अमित मिश्रा का जन्म हुआ।

1985 जानी मानी खूबसूरत, बोल्ड टेलीविजन अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल निवेदिता तिवारी का फैजाबाद में जन्म हुआ।

1986 जाने माने भारतीय फुटबाल खिलाड़ी सुब्रत पाल का जन्म सोदेपुर, कलकत्ता में हुआ। इसी दिन तमिलनाडु विधानसभा में पहली बार एक साथ विधायकों को सदन से निष्कासित किया गया।

1988 दल-बदल कानून के तहत पहली बार लोकसभा सांसद लालदूहोमा को अयोग्य करार दिया गया। वो मिजोरम से कांग्रेस के सांसद थे।

1989 जाने माने भारतीय फिल्म अभिनेता एवं माॅडल सुहैल नय्यर का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ।

1990 जाने माने बाॅलवुड फिल्म एवं टेलीविजन अभिनेता तथा माॅडल प्रिंस नरूला का जन्म चंडीगढ़ में हुआ।

1991 प्रसिद्ध तंजानियाई - अंग्रेजी गायक-गीतकार, क्वीन के प्रमुख गायक और निर्माता फ्रेडी मर्करी का निधन हुआ।

1992 चीन का घरेलू विमान दुर्घटनाग्रस्त, 141 लोगों की मौत।

1998 एमाइल लाहौद ने लेबनान के राष्ट्रपति पद की शपथ ली।

1999 यूनान की राजधानी एथेंस में सम्पन्न विश्व भारोत्तोलन चैंपियनशिप में भारत की कुंजुरानी देवी ने रजत पदक जीता।

2001 नेपाल में माओवादियों से मुठभेड़ में सेना व पुलिस के 38 जवान मारे गये। 2001 में इसी दिन तुर्की की ग्रैंड नेशनल एसेम्बली ने देश के कानून में बदलाव करके महिलाओं को कानूनी तौर पर पुरुषों के बराबर अधिकार दिए।

2003 हिंदी फिल्मों की मशहूर कॉमेडियन उमा देवी खत्री का निधन हुआ।

2006 पाकिस्तान और चीन ने एक मुक्त व्यापार क्षेत्र संधि पर हस्ताक्षर किये तथा अवाक्स बनाने पर भी सहमति हुई।

2007 पाकिस्तान के पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री नवाज शरीफ आठ वर्षों के निर्वासन के बाद स्वदेश पहुँचे।

2008 महाराष्ट्र के मालेगाँव बम ब्लास्ट के मामले में आरोपी आरएसएस, भाजपा समर्थित विवादास्पद, उग्र चरमपंथी नेत्री साध्वी प्रज्ञा सिंह ठाकुर ने एटीएस द्वारा अश्लील सीडी दिखाने का आरोप लगाया।

2009 एक अरोमानियाई डिजिटल लाइब्रेरी और सांस्कृतिक पहल अवधेला प्रोजेक्ट बुखारेस्ट, रोमानिया में स्थापित की गई।

2010 चीन के लेखक, अनुवादक, राजनीतिज्ञ, पीपुल्स रिपब्लिक ऑफ चाइना के 5वें विदेश मंत्री हुआंग हुआ का निधन हुआ।

2012 बांग्लादेश के ढाका में एक कपड़े की फैक्ट्री में आग लगने से कम से कम 112 लोगों की मौत हो गई।

2013 ईरान ने प्रतिबंधों को कम करने के बदले में अपने परमाणु कार्यक्रम को सीमित करते हुए पी5प्लस1 देशों के साथ एक अंतरिम समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए।

2015 सीरिया-तुर्की सीमा पर तुर्की वायु सेना द्वारा रूसी वायु सेना के सुखोई एसयू-24 लड़ाकू जेट को मार गिराया गया, जिसमें दो पायलटों में से एक की मौत हो गईय बाद के बचाव प्रयास के दौरान एक रूसी नौसैनिक भी मारा गया।

2015 मिस्र के अल-अरिश में एक होटल पर आतंकवादी हमले में कम से कम सात लोग मारे गए और 12 अन्य घायल हो गए।

2015 ट्यूनीशिया की राजधानी ट्यूनिस में ट्यूनीशियाई राष्ट्रपति गार्ड कर्मियों को ले जा रही एक बस में विस्फोट में कम से कम 14 लोग मारे गये।

2016 कोलंबिया की सरकार और कोलंबिया के क्रांतिकारी सशस्त्र बल-पीपुल्स आर्मी ने एक संशोधित शांति समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए, जिससे देश में 50 साल से अधिक लंबे गृहयुद्ध का अंत हुआ। इसी दिन खूबसूरत बोल्ड अमेरिकी अभिनेत्री, छह दशकों के करियर के साथ एबीसी सिटकॉम द ब्रैडी बंच में कैरोल ब्रैडी की भूमिका के लिए सुप्रसिद्ध, मंच परफार्मर, लंबे समय तक पाक कला विषयक शो की मेजवान रहीं फ्लोरेंस एग्नेस हेंडरसन का निधन हुआ।

2017 मिस्र के उत्तरी सिनाई के अल-रावदा में एक मस्जिद पर आतंकवादी हमले में 311 लोग मारे गए और 128 घायल हुए।

2018 भारतीय महिला मुक्केबाजी की सुपरस्टार एम सी मेरीकॉम ने दसवीं महिला विश्व मुक्केबाजी चैम्पियनशिप में 48 किग्रा वजन वर्ग में स्वर्ण पदक जीता।

2021 गाजीपुर बार्डर, नई दिल्ली में एक साल से अधिक समय से धरनारत किसानों का कहना है कि भारत की खेती को पूंजीपतियों की गुलाम बनाने वाले मोदी सरकार के काले कानूनों को रद्द करने भर से किसान आंदोलन खत्म नहीं होने जा रहा। इस बीच सरकार किसानों का काफी नुकसान कर चुकी है। उसकी भी भरपाई एक हद तक सरकार को करनी होगी। भारतीय किसान यूनियन नेता राकेश टिकैत ने बुधवार को कहा कि किसान आंदोलन अभी खत्म नहीं होगा। राकेश टिकैत ने कहा कि 27 नवंबर को हमारी बैठक है, जिसके बाद हम आगे के निर्णय लेंगे। बीकेयू नेता ने आगे कहा कि पीएम नरेंद्र मोदी ने कहा है कि 1 जनवरी से किसानों की आमदनी दोगुनी हो जाएगी, तो हम पूछेंगे कि कैसे दोगुनी होगी। राकेश टिकैत ने कहा कि किसानों की जीत तब होगी, जब उन्हें अपनी फसलों के दाम मिल जाएंगे। समाचार एजेंसी एशियन न्यूज इंटरनेशनल की खबर के अनुसार किसान नेता राकेश टिकैत ने सवाल करते हुए कहा कि किसानों को फसलों का नुकसान हुआ है और एमएसपी यानी न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य की जिम्मेदारी कौन लेगा ? उन्होंने कहा कि एमएसपी पर पक्का गारंटी कार्ड लेकर जाएंगे। भारतीय किसान यूनियन के नेता राकेश टिकैत ने कहा है कि केंद्र सरकार अगर 26 जनवरी से पहले हमारी सभी मांगें स्वीकार कर लेती है तो हम वापस लौट जाएंगे। राकेश टिकैत ने कहा कि सरकार ने कृषि कानूनों की वापसी की घोषणा की है, तो वे प्रस्ताव ला सकते हैं. लेकिन, न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य और 700 से अधिक किसानों की मृत्यु भी हमारा मुद्दा है। सरकार को इस पर भी बात करनी चाहिए. 26 जनवरी से पहले तक अगर सरकार मान जाएगी तो हम चले जाएंगे।

2021 भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस संविधान दिवस, 26 नवंबर से राज्य में 15 दिवसीय सदस्यता अभियान शुरू कर रही है, जिसमें एक करोड़ नए सदस्य बनाने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है। उत्तर प्रदेश अध्यक्ष अजय कुमार लल्लू ने पत्रकार वार्ता में बताया कि प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटी 26 नवंबर, 2021, शुक्रवार से 15 दिन का सदस्यता महा अभियान चलायेगी। यह अभियान 10 दिसंबर 2021 तक चलेगा। कांग्रेस ने बताया कि सदस्यता अभियान की शुरूआत संविधान दिवस पर हो रही है। इस दिन गांव, बस्तियों, वार्डों में भीम चर्चा और रात्रि भोज का आयोजन होगा। लल्लू ने बताया कि संविधान निर्माता डॉक्टर भीमराव आम्बेडकर के योगदान पर चर्चा होगी। एक परिवार, नये सदस्य चार के नारे के तहत 15 दिनों में कांग्रेस के एक करोड़ नये सदस्य बनाये जायेंगे। उन्होंने बताया कि इसके तहत हर विधानसभा में न्याय पंचायतों या वार्डो के आधार पर पांच सदस्यीय टीमों का गठन होगा और प्रत्येक टीम का एक प्रभारी होगा। प्रदेश में लगभग 23,000 सदस्यता प्रभारी बनाये जायेंगे। हर टीम प्रतिदिन 25 नये सदस्य बनायेगी। इसके लिए मिस्ड कॉल नंबर पर नये सदस्य द्वारा मिस्ड कॉल कराना अनिवार्य होगा। उन्होंने बताया कि महिला कॉलेजों एवं महाविद्यालयों के सामने लड़की हूँ, लड़ सकती हूँ बैनर के तहत सदस्यता अभियान चलाते हुए कांग्रेस महासचिव प्रियंका गांधी का संदेश छात्राओं तक पहुंचाया जायेगा।

2022 आम चुनाव के परिणामस्वरूप त्रिशंकु संसद की स्थिति बनी और पांच दिन चली खींच-तान के बाद विपक्षी नेता और पूर्व उप प्रधानमंत्री अनवर इब्राहिम को आधिकारिक तौर पर मलेशिया के 10वें प्रधान मंत्री के रूप में नामित किया गया है।
