202 ईसा पूर्व दूसरे प्यूनिक युद्ध के दौरान जामा की लड़ाई में स्किपियो अफ्रीकनस के नेतृत्व में रोमन सेना ने कार्थेज की रक्षा करने वाली सेना के नेता हैनिबल बार्का को हराया और हत्या कर दी।

879 शुलू पिंग यानी भविष्य में चीन के सम्राट ताइजू की पत्नी और महारानी बनीं यिंगटियन का जन्म हुआ। चीन के खितान के नेतृत्व वाले लियाओ राजवंश की एक साम्राज्ञी के रूप में सम्राट ताइजू की मृत्यु के बाद, उन्होंने 953 में अपनी मृत्यु तक महारानी शासन किया और यिंगटियन ने जनकल्याणकारी खासतौर से महिला कल्याण के कार्य किए।

1469 आरागॉन के फर्डिनेंड द्वितीय ने कैस्टिले की इसाबेला प्रथम से विवाह किया इसके बाद स्पेन में आरागॉन और कैस्टिले के एकीकरण का मार्ग प्रशस्त हुआ।

1630 अमेरिका के बोस्टन में पहली बार आम अदालत का आयोजन हुआ।

1722 फ्रांस के एक आविष्कारक सी होफर ने आग बुझाने की मशीन का सफल प्रयोग करके दिखाया।

1781 ब्रिटिश सैन्य जनरल कॉर्नवॉलिस ने दोपहर 2 बजे यॉर्कटाउन, अमेरिका में सैनिकों सहित आत्मसमर्पण किया, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप ब्रिटिश शासन विरोधी अमेरिकी क्रांतिकारी युद्ध समाप्त हो गया।

1789 जॉन जे को यूनाइटेड स्टेट्स आॅफ अमेरिका के पहले मुख्य न्यायाधीश के रूप में शपथ दिलाई गई।

1853 अमेरिका के हवाई में पहली आटा चक्की शुरू की गयी।

1872 न्यू साउथ वेल्स (आॅस्ट्रेलिया) में विश्व का सबसे बड़ा 215 किलोग्राम सोने का टुकड़ा पाया गया। यह अब तक पाया गया सोने का सबसे बड़ा एकल द्रव्यमान था। यह 19 अक्टूबर 1872 को सुबह 2 बजे हॉकिन्स हिल, न्यू साउथ वेल्स में स्टार ऑफ होप खदान में की गई थी, आधी रात को विस्फोटकों की फायरिंग के बाद सोने की दीवार की दीवार कहे गये इस विशाल सोने के टुकड़े को पाया गया।

1889 फ्रांस के शासक नेपोलियन बोनापार्ट ने रूस की राजधानी मास्को से अपनी सेना हटाई।

1900 जर्मन वैज्ञानिक माक्स प्लांक ने प्लांक का नियम प्रतिपादित किया था। इसे ब्लैक बॉडी एमिशन का नियम भी कहा जाता है।

1904 छात्रों के नामांकन के मामले में देश फिलीपींस का सबसे बड़ा पॉलिटेक्निक विश्वविद्यालय मनीला बिजनेस स्कूल के रूप में खोला गया।

1910 प्रख्यात भारतीय एस्ट्रो-फिजिसिस्ट सुब्रह्मण्यम चंद्रशेखर का जन्म हुआ।

1911 प्रसिद्ध उर्दू शायर मजाज लखनवी यानी असरारुल हक मजाज का जन्म हुआ।

1903 हिंदी फिल्मों के प्रसिद्ध संगीतकार रायचंद्र बोराल का जन्म हुआ। उन्हें भारतीय फिल्म संगीत का पितामह या फादर आॅफ इंडियन फिल्म म्युजिक कहा गया।

1920 महाराष्ट्र में स्वाध्याय परिवार के संस्थापक पांडुरंग शास्त्री अठालवे का जन्म हुआ।

1924 सऊदी शासक अब्दुल अजीज ने मक्का में पवित्र स्थानों की रक्षा करने की घोषणा की।

1926 आग्नेयास्त्र विकसित करने वाले कनाडाई-अमेरिकन जॉन सी गैरेंड ने सेमी ऑटोमेटिक राइफल का पेटेंट कराया।

1932 ब्रिटिश सरकार ने सोवियत संघ के साथ व्यापार समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किये।

1937 विख्यात ब्रिटिश फिजिसिस्ट अर्नेस्ट रदरफोर्ड का निधन।

1943 टीबी यानी क्षय रोग में बेहद असरकारी साबित हुई एंटीबायोटिक स्ट्रेप्टोमायसिन का पहली बार पता चला। 

1950 चाम्बो का युद्ध खत्म हुआ। इसे चीन में लिबरेशन ऑफ तिब्बत भी कहा जाता है। यह युद्ध 6 अक्टूबर को तिब्बत और चीन के बीच शुरू हुआ था। इसके परिणामस्वरूप चीन ने 19 अक्टूबर को तिब्बत पर कब्जा कर दिया।

1950 ईसाई मिशनरी मदर टेरेसा ने कलकत्ता (भारत) में मिशनरी ऑफ चैरिटिज की स्थापना की।

1953 तमिलनाडु के प्रमुख फिल्म अभिनेता, हास्य कलाकार मधन बाव या एस कृष्णमूर्ति का जन्म हुआ

1956 रूस और जापान ने हस्ताक्षर कर दोनों देशों के बीच लंबे समय से चले आ रहे युद्ध को अधिकारिक रूप से समाप्त किया।

1960 नागरिक अधिकारों के लिए आंदोलन चलाने वाले अमेरिका के मार्टिन लूथर किंग-जूनियर को गिरफ्तार किया गया। इसी दिन 1960 में भारत में बना पहला मिग-21 एयरफोर्स में शामिल हुआ था। इससे पांच-छह साल पहले मिग-21 एयरफोर्स में आ गए थे, लेकिन वे रूस में बने थे।

1961 जाने माने हिंदी फिल्म अभिनेता सनी देओल, वास्तविक नाम अजय सिंह का जन्म हुआ।

1986 मोजाम्बिक के राष्ट्रपति समोरा माशेल और 43 अन्य लोग मारे गए थे, राष्ट्रपति का विमान दक्षिण अफ्रीका की सीमा के साथ लेबोम्बो पर्वत में दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गया।

1988 अमेरिकी संसद सीनेट ने एक बिल अनुमोदित किया जो उन विज्ञापनों की मात्रा एवं स्तर को प्रतिबंधित और सीमित करता है जो बच्चों के टीवी कार्यक्रमों के दौरान दिखाए जा सकते हैं।

2004 कॉरपोरेट एयरलाइंस का विमान 5966 मिसौरी, अडायर काउंटी के किर्क्सविले क्षेत्रीय हवाई अड्डे के पास दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हुआ, 13 लोगों की मौत हुई। इसी दिन चीन ने अपना पहला व्यावसायिक मौसम उपग्रह छोड़ा।

2005 अमेरिका की पिट्ठू सरकार के दौरान इराक में स्पेशल ट्रिब्यूनल में इराक के राष्ट्रपति सद्दाम हुसैन और 7 अन्य के खिलाफ मानवता के खिलाफ अपराधों के केस का ट्रायल शुरू हुआ। कहते हैं यह मुकदमा छद्म था और इसके परिणामस्वरूप बाद में सद्दाम को फांसी दे दी गई। 2005 में इसी दिन 2600 पक्षी होहोट, इनर मंगोलिया के पास एच5एन1 वायरस से मारे गए।

2006 दक्षिण कोरिया के विदेश मंत्री और संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासचिव बान की मून ने चेताया कि उत्तर कोरिया के दूसरे परमाणु परीक्षण के गंभीर परिणाम होंगे।

2012 अमेरिकी बाल चिकित्सा विशेषज्ञ समूह ने पहला विश्व बाल चिकित्सा हड्डी और जोड़ दिवस शुरू किया। इसी दिन सिएटल, अमेरिकस की स्टारबक्स ने मुंबई की एक ऐतिहासिक बिल्डिंग में भारत का पहला कॉफी हाउस खोला।

2013 प्रसिद्ध ईरानी-अमेरिकी वायलिन वादक और संगीतकार महमूद जौफोनून का निधन हुआ।

2014 प्रसिद्ध ब्रिटिश, अंग्रेजी सैक्सोफोनिस्ट और संगीतकारराफेल रेवेन्सक्रॉफ्ट का निधन हुआ।

2015 फ्लेमिंग मैकेल, कनाडाई आइस हॉकी खिलाड़ी और गायक का निधन हुआ। 2015 में इसी दिन अली ट्रेकी, लीबिया के राजनेता और राजनयिक, लीबिया के विदेश मंत्री का निधन हुआ।

2016 फिल चेस, चेक-अमेरिकी रिकॉर्ड निर्माता, चेस रिकॉर्ड्स के सह-संस्थापक का निधन हुआ। इसी दिन 2016 में जियोवन्नी स्टेफे, इतालवी नाविक का निधन हुआ।

2017 प्रसिद्ध इतालवी फिल्म निर्देशक अम्बर्टो लेंजी का निधन हुआ।

2018 अमृतसर में दशहरे की खुशियां तब मातम में बदल गईं जब रेल की पटरी पर खड़े होकर रावण दहन देखने वाले 60 लोगों पर से ट्रेन के गुजर जाने से मौत हो गई।

2019 यूनाइटेड किंगडम के ब्रेक्जिट समझौते पर चर्चा के लिए संसद सदस्यों ने हाउस ऑफ लॉर्ड्स में मुलाकात की। फॉकलैंड युद्ध 3 अप्रैल 1982 के बाद संसद में यह पहला शनिवार था। इसी दिन प्रसिद्ध स्कॉटिश पत्रकार डेबोरा ऑर का निधन हुआ।

2021 प्रसिद्ध अमेरिकी स्वर कलाकार एवं अभिनेता जैक एंजेल का निधन हुआ। इसी दिन 2021 में सत्र न्यायालय ने दिल्ली के एक कारोबारी की पत्नी से 200 करोड़ की वसूली से जुड़े धनशोधन के मामले में अभिनेत्री लीना पॉल की हिरासत में पूछताछ की अवधि एक हफ्ते के लिये बढ़ा दी। पॉल को हिरासत में पूछताछ की अवधि खत्म होने पर अदालत के समक्ष पेश किया गया था और अतिरिक्त सत्र न्यायाधीश प्रवीन सिंह ने उसकी ईडी को दी गई हिरासत एक और हफ्ते के लिये बढ़ा दी। 2021 में इसी दिन महराष्ट्र सरकार में शामिल राष्ट्रवादी कांग्रेस पार्टी (राकांपा) के प्रवक्ता और महाराष्ट्र सरकार में अल्पसंख्यक मामलों के मंत्री नवाब मलिक ने नार्कोटिक कंट्रोल ब्यूरो एनसीबी की कार्य-प्रणाली पर सवाल खड़े करते हुए पूछा कि एनसीबी के जोनल निदेशक समीर वानखेड़े ने तीन मामलों की जांच में एक पारिवारिक मित्र को एक स्वतंत्र गवाह के रूप में क्यों इस्तेमाल किया। मलिक ने प्रेस वार्ता में कहा कि वह जानना चाहते हैं कि वानखेड़े और स्वतंत्र गवाहों में से एक के बीच क्या संबंध है, जिसका इस्तेमाल एनसीबी ने अपने हालिया छापे के दौरान किया था। वानखेड़े इस महीने की शुरुआत में मुंबई तट पर एक क्रूज जहाज पर छापेमारी का नेतृत्व करने और मादक पदार्थों की कथित जब्ती के बाद अभिनेता शाहरुख खान के बेटे आर्यन खान सहित अन्य को गिरफ्तार करने के बाद से ही चर्चा में बने हुए हैं। हालांकि एनसीबी ने आर्यन के पास से न तो कोई नशीला पदार्थ पाया, न उन्होंने कोई नशा किया हुआ था और न ही उनके पास पैसे थे। इसका मतलब है कि उनके पास ड्रग बेचने को था नहीं और खरीदने को पैसे भी नहीं थे। लेकिन एनसीबी न जाने किन कारणों से मामले को लंबा खींच रही है।

This was done at the Star of Hope mine in Hawkins Hill, New South Wales, at 2 am on 19 October 1872. After firing explosives at midnight, this huge piece of gold, called the Wall of Gold, was found.

2016 Phil Chase, Czech-American record producer, co-founder of Chase Records, dies. On this day in 2016, Giovanni Steffi, Italian sailor, died.

2017 Famous Italian film director Umberto Lenzi passes away.

2018: The joy of Dussehra in Amritsar turned into mourning when 60 people who were standing on the railway tracks watching Ravana Dahan died after a train passed by them.

2019 Members of Parliament meet in the House of Lords to discuss the Brexit agreement of the United Kingdom. This was the first Saturday in Parliament since the Falklands War on 3 April 1982. On this day, famous Scottish journalist Deborah Orr passed away.

2021 Famous American voice artist and actor Jack Angel passed away. On the same day in 2021, the Sessions Court extended the custodial interrogation of actress Leena Paul by a week in a money laundering case related to the recovery of Rs 200 crore from the wife of a Delhi businessman. Paul was produced before the court at the end of his custodial interrogation and Additional Sessions Judge Praveen Singh extended his ED custody by another week.
