1521 फिलिपींस के मूल निवासियों ने लपटू-लापु के नेतृत्व में पुर्तगाली खोजकर्ता फर्डिनेंड मैगलन को मारा इसके अलावा मोक्टन की लड़ाई में चालीस से अधिक स्पेनिश सैनिकों को मार डाला, जिन्होंने फिलिपीनियों का दमन कर उन पर आधिपत्य जमा लिया था।

1522 सन 1521-1526 के इटालियन युद्ध के दौरान स्पेन और द पोपल स्टेट्स की संयुक्त सेना ने बिकोकोका के युद्ध में फ्रांसीसी और वेनिस सेना को हराया।

1526 भारत के प्रथम मुगल शासक जहीरुद्दीन मोहम्मद बाबर ने दिल्ली के सुल्तान को पराजित कर राज-काज संभाला।

1593 आगरा का ताज महल जिनकी याद में शहंशाह शाहजहां ने तीमार कराया, उन मुमताज महल का जन्म आगरा में हुआ, 27 अप्रैल को। शाहजहां के बाद इन्हीं मुमताज और शाहजहां का बेटा औरंगजेब बादशाह बना। मुमताज महल का जन्म का नाम अर्जुमंद बानो था।

1606 शहजादा खुसरो को बादशाह जहांगीर ने गिरफ्तार किया। खुसरो ने 6 अप्रैल को बगावत का ऐलान किया था।

1662 नीदरलैंड और फ्रांस के बीच सैन्य संधि पर हस्ताक्षर किये गये।

1748 मुगल शासक मोहम्मद शाह का दिल्ली में निधन हुआ।

1749 ग्रीन पार्क, लंदन में जॉर्ज फ्रीडरिक हैंडल की आतिशबाजी शीर्षक संगीत प्रस्तुति का पहला प्रदर्शन हुआ।

1805 अमेरिकी नौसैनिकों ने लीबिया, त्रिपोली के तटीय क्षेत्रों में हमला किया।

1810 विश्व विख्यात संगीतज्ञ लुडविग वान बीथोवेन ने अपने प्रसिद्ध पियानो फर एलिस का निर्माण किया।

1820 विश्व प्रसिद्ध शिक्षाविद, दार्शनिक तथा समाजशास्त्री हरबर्ट स्पेन्सर का जन्म हुआ। हर्बर्ट स्पेंसर का एक उद्धरण - यदि पुरुष अपनी स्वतंत्रता का उपयोग इस तरह से करते हैं कि वे इसे त्याग देते हैं, तो क्या उन्हें इसके लिए गुलाम माना जा सकता है? यदि लोग इसे शासित करने के लिए जनमत संग्रह के लिए एक निरंकुश चुनते हैं, तो क्या यह इस तथ्य के कारण अभी भी स्वतंत्र है कि निरंकुशता उनका अपना काम है?

1878 कलकत्ता विश्वविद्यालय ने महिलाओं को विश्वविद्यालय शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में पात्रता के लिये पहली मंजूरी दी।

1882 प्रख्यात अमरीकी दार्शनिक और लेखक रॉल्फ वाल्डो एमिरसन का निधन हुआ।

1884 दिल्ली के प्रमुख कारोबारी, उद्योगपति लाला श्रीराम का जन्म हुआ। वे दिल्ली क्लाॅथ एंड जनरल मिल्स के मालिक थे। उनके नाम से दिल्ली में श्रीराम कालेज और लेडी श्रीराम कालेज इत्यादि हैं।

1908 लंदन में चतुर्थ ओलंपिक खेल आयोजन शुरू हुए।

1911 प्रख्यात सूफी संत बरकत अली लुधियानवी का जन्म लुधियाना, पंजाब में हुआ।

1912 मशहूर अभिनेत्री जोहरा सहगल का जन्म हुआ। चेतन आनंद की फिल्म नीचा नगर में शानदार अभिनय के कारण इन्हें अंतरराष्ट्रीय पहचान मिली जब पहले कांस फिल्मोत्सव 1946 में फिल्म को सर्वोच्च पुरस्कार पाल्मे डी मिला।

1920 प्रसिद्ध स्वतंत्रता सेनानी मनीभाई देसाई का जन्म हुआ।

1922 विख्यात अमेरिकी अभिनेता (द ऑड कपल ऐंड क्विंजी मी) जैक क्लगमैन का जन्म हुआ।

1930 केरल के प्रसिद्ध समाज सुधारक टी. के. माधवन का निधन हुआ।

1940 एडोल्फ हिटलर की नाजी सरकार ने पोलैंड के ओस्वित्ज में यातना शिविर का निर्माण शुरू किया। जहां कई लाख लोगों का कत्ल किया गया।

1945 दूसरे विश्व युद्ध में नाजी नेता हिटलर की सेनाओं के खिलाफ अमेरिका, ब्रिटेन और सोवियत संघ की सेनाओं ने मिलकर मोर्चा बांधा। जर्मनी में एल्बे नदी के किनारे अमेरिका और सोवियत संघ की सेनाओं के बीच पहली मुलाकात हुई।

1941 प्रमुख इस्लामिक विद्वान, धार्मिक और राजनेता, दारुल उलूम देवबंद, जमीयत उलेमा ए हिंद के मुखिया मौलाना असद मदनी का जन्म हुआ।

1942 अमेरिकी राज्य ओकलाहोमा में आये तूफान के कारण 100 लोग मारे गये।

1948 उत्तराखंड के प्रमुख कांग्रेसी नेता, पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री और पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री हरीश रावत का जन्म अल्मोड़ा में हुआ।

1949 भारत के प्रधान न्यायाधीश हुए पी. सतशिवम का जन्म हुआ।

1960 नेशनल डिफेंस कॉलेज की नयी दिल्ली में स्थापना हुई। इसी दिन प्रख्यात बांगला लेखक राजशेखर बसु का निधन हुआ।

1961 अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नासा ने गामा किरणों के अध्ययन के लिये पृथ्वी की कक्षा में एक्सप्लोरर 11 लांच किया।

1961 सियरा लिओन की आजादी का दिन 27 अप्रैल। यह पश्चिम अफ्रीकी देश तकरीबन डेढ़ सौ साल तक ब्रिटेन के अधीन रहा। आधी रात को हरी, सफेद और नीली पट्टियों वाला देश का ध्वज फहराया गया।

1963 क्यूबा के प्रधानमंत्री और दुनिया के जाने-माने क्रांतिकारी, समाजवादी नेता फिदेल कास्त्रो सोवियत संघ की अपनी पहली यात्रा के दौरान राजधानी मॉस्को पहुंचे।

1972 अंतरिक्ष यान अपोलो 16 पृथ्वी पर वापस लौटा।

1986 जानी मानी टेलीविजन, फिल्म अभिनेत्री और माॅडल प्रीति गुप्ता का जन्म हुआ।

1989 बांग्लादेश में आये तूफान से 500 लोगों की मौत हुई।

1993 अफगानिस्तानी विमान एएनएस 32 दुर्घटनाग्रस्त होने से 76 लोगों की मौत हुई।

1994 दक्षिण अफ्रीकी जनता ने स्वतंत्रता दिवस मनाया। नेल्सन मंडेला के नेतृत्व में कालों को समान अधिकार के आंदोलन के लंबे कालखंड के बाद उन्हें गोरे लोगों की गुलामी से आजादी मिली थी।

1998 वियतनाम की कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी के महासचिव और लोकप्रिय जननेता गुयेन वैन लिंह का निधन हुआ।

1999 यूनेस्को ने एक कोरियाई लोक गायक के नाम पर एक नये पुरस्कार अरिरंग की घोषणा की। इसी दिन दक्षिण कोरिया एवं थाइलैंड के बीच प्रत्यर्पण संधि पर हस्ताक्षर हुए।

2005 फ्रांस के टुलुज में एयरबस निर्मित दुनिया के सबसे बड़े विमान ए-380 ने पहली परीक्षण उड़ान भरी।

2006 न्यूयॉर्क में नए वर्ल्ड ट्रेड सेंटर के लिए फ्रीडम टॉवर का शुरू किया गया। इस सेंटर को 9/11 के हमलों में आतंकियों ने ध्वस्त कर दिया था।

2008 पाकिस्तान ने अपने विदेश सचिव रियाज मुहम्मद खान को बर्खास्त कर उनके स्थान पर चीन में पाकिस्तान के राजदूत सलमान बशीर को विदेश सचिव नियुक्त किया। इसी दिन राजस्थान सरकार ने प्रत्येक जिला मुख्यालय पर विकलांगों के लिए मोबाइल् कोर्ट स्थापित करने का ऐलान किया।

2009 मशहूर हिंदी फिल्म अभिनेता, निर्देशक और निर्माता फिरोज खान का निधन हुआ।

2010 नवगठित यूनीक आइडेंटिफिकेशन अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया (यूआईडीएआई) ने भारत के नागरिकों की पहचान हेतु यूनीक आइडेंटिफिकेशन नंबर को ब्रांड नाम आधार तथा नया लोगो पेश किया। इसी दिन प्रख्यात उड़िया फिल्म अभिनेता हेमंत दास का निधन हुआ।

2011 अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति बराक हुसैन ओबामा ने अपने जन्म को लेकर हुए विवाद के बाद सार्वजनिक तौर पर जन्म प्रमाण पत्र की एक प्रति जारी की।

2017 लंबे समय से कैंसर से पीड़ित विख्यात हिंदी फिल्म अभिनेता विनोद खन्ना का 70 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हुआ। पाकिसतान के पेशावर में 6 अक्टूबर 1946 को जन्मे विनोद आचार्य रजनीश ओशो के शिष्य भी रहे। ओशो ने इन्हें स्वामी विनोद भारती नाम दिया। अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी के समय वे भारतीय जनता पार्टी के लोकसभा सदस्य भी रहे।

1593 The Taj Mahal of Agra, in whose memory the Emperor Shah Jahan built a timar, Mumtaz Mahal was born in Agra, on 27 April. After Shahjahan, this Mumtaz and Shahjahan's son Aurangzeb became the emperor. The birth name of Mumtaz Mahal was Arjumand Banu.

2017 Noted Hindi film actor Vinod Khanna, who was suffering from cancer for a long time, passed away at the age of 70. Born on 6 October 1946 in Peshawar, Pakistan, Vinod Acharya was also a disciple of Rajneesh Osho. Osho named him Swami Vinod Bharti. At the time of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he was also a Lok Sabha member of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
