4 ईसापूर्व रोमन साम्राज्य के दौरान यीशु यानी ईसा मसीह या जीसस क्राइस्ट का जन्म एक बढ़ई के परिवार में Bethlehem यरुशलम में हुआ। यरुशलम अब इजरायल की राजधानी है। मूसा को मानने वाले और स्वयं को धार्मिक कहने वाले समाज में तमाम शोषण, दमन, अत्याचार, कदाचार व्याप्त था। इसे सुधारने की गरज से जीसस ने खुद को ईश्वर का बेटा कहा और बुराइयों के खिलाफ बोला। इससे तथाकथित धार्मिक समाज व्यवस्था में हड़कंप मच गया और जीसस को सूली पर लटकाकर मार डाला गया। समाज के प्रमुख लोग इतने खफा थे कि भारी भरकम सूली को पहाड़ी पर ले जाने के लिए भी यीशु को मजबूर किया गया। फांसी लगते व जीसस ने ईश्वर से प्रार्थना की, प्रभु इन्हें क्षमा करना, यह नहीं जानते कि यह क्या कर रहे हैं। 

1066 विलियम द कॉन्करर को वेस्टमिंस्टर एब्बे में इंग्लैंड के राजा का ताज पहनाया गया।

1643 ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी के जहाज के कप्तान विलियम मायर्स एक निर्जन द्वीप रायल मैरी पर उतरे और इसका नाम क्रिसमसलैंड रखा।

1709 लंदन से दस जहाजों को न्यू यॉर्क के लिए रवाना किया गया, जिसमे 4000 लोगो को भेजा गया।

1741 खगोल विज्ञानी एंडर्स सेल्सियस ने सेंटीग्रेड तापमान का स्तर पेश किया।

1763 भरतपुर के महाराजा सूरजमल की हत्या हुई।

1771 मुगल शासक शाह आलम द्वितीय मराठाओं के संरक्षण में दिल्ली के सिंहासन पर बैठे।

1815 संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के सबसे पुराने अविभाज्य कला संगठन द हेंडल एंड हैडन सोसाइटी की स्थापना की गई जिसका प्रीमियर बोस्टन के किंगचैपल में हुआ।

1861 हिंदू ब्राह्मणवादी स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, राजनीतिज्ञ, शिक्षाविद मदनमोहन मालवीय का जन्म हुआ।

1876 स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, भारत के प्रथम प्रधानमंत्री जवाहर लाल नेहरू के समकालीन पाकिस्तान के संस्थापक और काएदे आजम कहे जाने वाले मोहम्मद अली जिन्ना का कराची में जन्म हुआ।

1878 डॉक्टर चार्ल्स ड्राइस्डेल ने एक लेख लिख पहली बार तंबाकू से होने वाले नुकसान की जानकारी दी।

1892 स्वामी विवेकानंद ने कन्याकुमारी में समुद्र के मध्य स्थित चट्टान पर तीन दिन तक साधना की।

1918 मिस्र के सैन्य अधिकारी और राजनेता अनवर सादात का जन्म हुआ। वह 1970 में मिस्र के राष्ट्रपति बने और 1981 में उनकी हत्या तक इस पद पर बने रहे। उन्होंने इजराइल के साथ शांति प्रक्रिया की शुरूआत की और इसके लिए उन्हें 1978 में नोबेल शांति पुरस्कार से नवाजा गया।

1919 हिंदी फिल्मों के प्रसिद्ध संगीतकार नौशाद का जन्म हुआ।

1924 पहला अखिल भारतीय कम्युनिस्ट कांफ्रेस कानपुर में हुआ। इसी दिन राष्ट्र स्वयं सेवक संघ के कार्यकर्ता, भाजपा नेता और तीन बार प्रधानमंत्री बने अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी का जन्म ग्वालियर में हुआ।

1925 प्रसिद्ध चित्रकार सतीश गुजराल का जन्म हुआ। यह भारत के प्रधानमंत्री हुए इंद्र कुमार गुजराल के भाई थे।

1926 प्रख्यात हिंदी लेखक, कवि, नाटककार, सामाजिक चिंतक धर्मवीर भारती का इलाहाबाद, जो अब प्रयागराज है, में जन्म हुआ। अंधायुग, गुनाहों का देवता और सूरज का सातवां घोड़ा उनकी सबसे चर्चित रचनाएं थीं। वे धर्मयुग पत्रिका के संपादक रहे और हजारों लोगों को उन्होंने पत्रकारिता और लेखन में प्रोत्साहन दिया।

1926 करीब 50 वर्ष सिनेमा में काम करने वाली हिंदी फिल्मों की 1940 एवं 50 के दशक की बेहद खूबसूरत, बोल्ड, लोकप्रिय फिल्म अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल बेगम पारा का झेलम, पाकिस्तान में जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन जापान के सम्राट तायशो की दिल का दौरा पड़ने से मृत्यु हुई तो उत्तराधिकारी बेटे, हिरोहितो सम्राट हुए जो 1989 में अपनी मृत्यु तक पद पर रहे। सर्वाधिक समय सम्राट रहे।

1928 प्रख्यात साहित्यकार, कवि, संपादक सच्चिदानंद हीरानंद वात्सयायन अज्ञेय की धर्म पत्नी कला, संस्कृति, नृत्य, साहित्य, इतिहास की विद्वान कपिला वात्सयायन का जन्म हुआ।

1936 विख्यात बाॅलीवुड फिल्म निर्माता, निर्देशक और पटकथाकार, पद्मभूषण सम्मान प्राप्त इस्माइल मर्चेंट का जन्म बंबई में हुआ।

1946 ताईवान में संविधान को अंगीकृत किया गया।

1944 प्रख्यात फिल्म निर्देशक मणि कौल का जन्म हुआ।

1947 पाकिस्तानी सेना ने झनगड़ को कब्जे में ले लिया था।

1949 पाकिस्तान के पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री नवाज शरीफ का जन्म हुआ।

1959 मोदी सरकार में मंत्री सामाजिक न्याय और अधिकारिता, महाराष्ट्र के राजनेता, राजनीतिक रिपब्लिकन पार्टी आॅफ इंडिया के प्रमुख रामदास अठावले का जन्म सांगली में हुआ।

1963 जाने माने काॅमेडियन, सेलेब्रेटीज की मिमिक्री करने वाले राजू श्रीवास्तव का जन्म कानपुर, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ।

1965 खुद को योग गुरु और बाबा कहने वाले बड़े कारोबारी पतंजलि औद्योगिक साम्राज्य के मालिक और राजनीतिक राम किशन यादव यानी रामदेव का जन्म महेंद्रगढ़ हरियाणा में हुआ। 

1971 भारत के जाने माने टेलीविजन शो निर्माता, निर्देशक, प्रसारक, प्रकाशक और यात्री सफारी टीवी के मालिक संतोष जाॅर्ज कुलांगरा का जन्म हुआ।

1972 भारत के अंतिम गवर्नर जनरल चक्रवर्ती राजागोपालाचारी का निधन हुआ।

1974 तमिल सिनेमा पर अपना प्रभुत्व रखने वाली जानी मानी हिंदी बाॅलीवुड एवं दक्षिण भारतीय फिल्म अभिनेत्री, माॅडल और कांग्रेस नेत्री नग्मा यानी नंदिता अरविंद मोरारजी का जन्म बंबई में हुआ। 1974 में इसी दिन पहली बार वैज्ञानिकों ने फेरोन गैस से ओजोन की परत को नुकसान होने की जानकारी दी। इसी दिन 1974 में रोम जा रहे एयर इंडिया के विमान बोइंग 747 का अपहरण।

1977 जानी मानी पशु अधिकार कार्यकर्ता, पोर्न फिल्म अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल प्रिया अंजली राय का जन्म बंबई में हुआ।

1977 जगत प्रसिद्ध ब्रिटिश कॉमेडियन और फिल्म निर्देशक चार्ली चैपलिन सर चार्ली स्पेंसर चैप्लिन का निधन हुआ। उन्हें मूक फिल्मों का युगपुरुष माना जाता है। उनका निधन स्विट्जरलैंड में हुआ। उन्होंने पूंजीवादी शोषण, सरकारों की चालबाजियों और समाज की विद्रूपताओं के करारे प्रहार किये। ब्रिटेन और अमेरिका इत्यादि की सरकारों ने उन्हें परेशान किया। उनकी माडर्न टाइम्स और ग्रेट डिटेक्टर जैसी कालजयी फिल्मों का निर्माण किया।

1981 जाने माने फिल्म अभिनेता नंदिश सिंह संधू का जन्म धौलपुर, राजस्थान में हुआ।

1982 भारत के जाने माने बाॅडी बिल्डर तथा फिटनेस एक्सपर्ट यतींदर सिंह गुर्जर का जन्म सहारनपुर में हुआ।

1984 जाने माने टेलीविजन अभिनेता जय भानुशाली का जन्म हुआ।

1978 वियतनाम ने कंबोडिया के खमेर रूज के खिलाफ एक बड़ा आक्रामक अभियान चलाया।

1989 रोमानिया के अपदस्थ राष्ट्रपति निकोलाए चाउसेस्कू और उनकी पत्नी एलेना को राष्ट्र के खिलाफ अपराधों का दोषी पाया गया और गोली से उड़ा दिया गया।

1991 राष्ट्रपति मिखाइल सर्गेइविच गोर्बाचोव के त्यागपत्र के साथ ही सोवियत संघ का विभाजन एवं उसका अस्तित्व समाप्त हुआ। अनेक रूसी राज्य अलग हो गये और जो बाकी बचा उसे रूस कहते हैं।

1994 पंजाब के प्रसिद्ध राजनेता और राष्ट्रपति हुए ज्ञानी जैल सिंह का निधन हुआ।

1998 रूस एवं बेलारूस ने एक संयुक्त संघ बनाये जाने संबंधी समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किये। बेलारूस में अलेक्जेंडर लुकाशेंको आजकल राष्ट्रपति हैं। कोरोना कुप्रबंधन के लिए नरेंद्र मोदी, डोनाल्ड ट्रंप, ब्राजील के जायर बोल्सेनारो सहित लुकाशेंको भी बहुत बदनाम हैं। व्लादीमीर पुतिन सहित यह सभी लोकतंत्र और मुक्त प्रेस के भी शत्रु हैं।

2002 चीन और बांग्लादेश के बीच रक्षा समझौता।

2005 मारीशस में 400 वर्ष पूर्व विलुप्त डोडो पक्षी का दो हजार वर्ष पुराना अवशेष मिला।

2008 भारत के द्वारा अंतरिक्ष में भेजे गये चन्द्रयान-1 के 11 में से एक पेलोडर्स ने चंद्रमा की नई तस्वीर भेजी।

2011 प्रख्यात नाटककार, पटकथा लेखक, फिल्म व नाट्य निर्देशक सत्यदेव दुबे का निधन हुआ।

2012 दक्षिणी कजाखस्तान के शिमकेंट शहर में एन्टोनोव कम्पनी का एएन-72 विमान दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हुआ जिसमें 27 लोगों की मौत हो गई।

2014 इसाई धर्म के सर्वोच्च धर्मगुरु पोप फ्रांसिस वेटिकन से अपना वार्षिक क्रिसमस संदेश देते हैं, उन समूहों के लिए प्रार्थना करते हैं जिनमें शरणार्थी और निर्वासित ईसाई समुदायों और इबोला महामारी से जूझ रहे श्रमिकों को शामिल किया गया है।

2014 सोनी पिक्चर्स ने 300 से अधिक सिनेमाघरों और ऑनलाइन चैनलों के माध्यम से अपनी कॉमेडी द इंटरव्यू जारी की, फिल्म में उत्तर कोरिया के नेता किम जोंग-उन की एक हत्या की कोशिश को दर्शाया गया।

2015 प्रख्यात हिंदी सिने अभिनेत्री साधना यानी साधना शिवदासानी का निधन हुआ। साधना ने मेरे महबूब, हम दोनों, वो कौन थी, राजकुमार, वक्त, मेरा साया, एक फूल-दो माली जैसी फिल्मों में काम किया था। उनका जन्म 2 सितंबर 1941 को कराची, पाकिस्तान में हुआ था। वे 1960 से 1980 तक फिल्मों में व्यस्त रहीं।

1926 Dharamvir Bharti, eminent Hindi writer, poet, dramatist, social thinker, was born in Allahabad, now Prayagraj. Andhayug, Gunah Ka Devta and Suraj's Seventh Horse were his most famous works. He was the editor of Dharmayuga magazine and he encouraged thousands of people in journalism and writing.

1926 Begum Para, very beautiful, bold, popular film actress and model of Hindi films of 1940s and 50s, who worked in cinema for nearly 50 years, was born in Jhelum, Pakistan. Emperor Taisho of Japan died of a heart attack on the same day, and was succeeded by his son, Hirohito, who held office until his death in 1989. Emperor for the longest time.

2015 Eminent Hindi cine actress Sadhna i.e. Sadhna Shivdasani passed away. Sadhna had worked in films like Mere Mehboob, Hum Doon, Woh Kaun Thi, Rajkumar, Waqt, Mera Saya, Ek Phool-Do Mali. He was born on 2 September 1941 in Karachi, Pakistan. She was busy in films from 1960 to 1980.
