1794 संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका और ग्रेट ब्रिटेन ने दो देशों के बीच दस साल के शांतिपूर्ण व्यापार के आधार पर जे संधि का फैसला किया।

1809 ओकाना की लड़ाई में फ्रांसीसी सेना ने स्पेनिश सेना के 4000 सैनिक मार डाले और हजारों घायल कर दिए।

1816 पोलैंड में सबसे बड़ा विश्वविद्यालय, वारसॉ विश्वविद्यालय स्थापित किया गया था।

1824 रूस के प्रमुख नगर सेंट पीटर्सबर्ग शहर में बाढ़ से दस हजार लोगों की मौत हुई।

1828 स्वतंत्रता सेनानी और वीरांगना कही गईं झांसी की रानी लक्ष्मीबाई का जन्म 1828 में हुआ।

1838 ब्रह्मसमाज के आध्यात्मिक नेता केशब चंद सेन का जन्म हुआ।

1875 प्रसिद्ध पुरातत्त्वविद रामकृष्ण देवदत्त भंडारकर का जन्म हुआ।

1893 पहला अखबारी रंगीन रविवारीय परिशिष्ट न्यूयॉर्क वर्ल्ड समाचार पत्र ने छापा।

1895 अमेरिकी आविष्कारक फ्रेडेरिक ई. ब्लेसडेल ने पेपर पेंसिल का पेटेंट कराया।

1912 प्रथम बाल्कन युद्ध में सर्बिया की सेना ने बीतोला पर कब्जा कर दक्षिण यूरोप के देश मेसिडोनिया के आट्टोमन शासन का अंत किया।

1917 स्वतंत्रा संग्राम में बचपन से बढ़-चढ़ कर भागीदारी करने वाली और लंबे समय तक भारत की प्रधानमंत्री रहीं इंदिरा प्रियदर्शिनी गांधी का जन्म उत्तर प्रदेश के इलाहाबाद स्थित पं. मोतीलाल नेहरू, जवाहर लाल नेहरू के आनंद भवन में हुआ।

1918 भारत के प्रसिद्ध इतिहासकार देवीप्रसाद चट्टोपाध्याय का जन्म हुआ। देवीप्रसाद भारत के गणमान्य मार्क्सवादी दार्शनिक तथा इतिहासकार थे। उन्होने प्राचीन भारतीय दर्शन में भौतिकवादी संस्कृति की गवेषणा में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया। साहित्य एवं शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान के लिए देवी प्रसाद को सन 1998 में भारत सरकार द्वारा पद्म भूषण से सम्मानित किया गया।

1923 हिन्दी फिल्मों के प्रसिद्ध संगीतकार सलिल चैधरी का जन्म हुआ।

1924 प्रख्यात हिंदी और भोजपुरी भाषी साहित्यकार विवेकी राय का जन्म हुआ।

1926 पैरामाउंट थियेटर न्यूयॉर्क शहर में खोला गया।

1928 विश्व प्रसिद्ध पहलवान और हिंदी फिल्म अभिनेता दारा सिंह रंधावा का अमृतसर में जन्म हुआ।

1933 यूरोपीय देश स्पेन में महिलाओं को मताधिकार का अधिकार मिला।

1951 सिंदा हेंज़ और अमानुल्ला खान की बेटी लोकप्रिय माॅडल और फिल्म अभिनेत्री जीनत अमान यानी जीनत खान का जन्म बंबई में हुआ। यह 1970 के दशक की बेहद मशहूर अभिनेत्री रहीं। इन्होंने 1970 में मिस एशिया पेसिफिक इंटरनेशनल पीजेंट का खिताब हासिल किया।

1959 भारत की जानी मानी कारोबारी महिला मैसी फार्ग्युसन ट्रैक्टर और कृषि उपकरण बनाने वाली कंपनी टैफे की अध्यक्ष तथा मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी होने के साथ साथ कई प्राइवेट कंपनियों और सरकारी समितियों में शामिल मल्लिका श्रीनिवासन का जन्म हुआ।

1961 विवेक के नाम से सुपरिचित तमिल फिल्म उद्योग के प्रमुख व्यक्तित्व, गायक, अभिनेता, हास्य कलाकार, टेलीविजन कलाकार और सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता विवेकानंदन का जन्म कोविलपत्ती में हुआ।

1965 जाने माने फिल्म एवं टेलीविजन अभिनेता दया शंकर पांडेय का जन्म भदोही, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ।

1969 ब्राजील के शहर रियो डी जेनेरियो में वास्को डी गामा के खिलाफ सैंटोस के लिए खेलते हुए, ब्राजील के फुटबॉलर पेले ने अपना 1000 वां गोल किया।

1971 अरुणा प्रदेश के भाजपा नेता और मोदी सरकार में विधि एवं न्याय मंत्री किरेन रिजीजू का जन्म वेस्ट कामेंग, अरुणाचल में हुआ।

1973 तमिल, तेलुगू, कन्नड़ आदि भाषाओं की दक्षिण भारतीय सिनेमा की बोल्ड, खूबसूरत अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल सी. शकीला का जन्म नेल्लोर में हुआ।

1975 भारत की प्रथम मिस यूनिवर्स और प्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री, माॅडल का सुष्मिता सेन का जन्म हैदराबाद में हुआ।

1977 मिस्र के राष्ट्रपति अनवर सादात का ऐतिहासिक इस्राइल दौरा हुआ। यह किसी अरब नेता का पहला इस्राइल दौरा था। इस दौरान उन्होंने शांति स्थापना का प्रस्ताव पेश किया। 6 अक्टूबर 1986 को इस सेनाधिकारी से राष्ट्र प्रमुख बने बेहद प्रभावशाली नेता की उन्हीं के सैनिकों ने मिस्र की राजधानी काहिरा में गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी।

1979 जानी मानी शिवसेना नेत्री, कांग्रेस की राष्ट्रीय प्रवक्ता राज्य सभा सदस्य प्रियंका विक्रम चतुर्वेदी का जन्म बंबई में हुआ। इसी दिन बंबई में जाने माने फिल्म एवं टेलीविजन अभिनेता बख्तियार ईरानी का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन जाने माने टेलीविजन और फिल्म अभिनेता तथा माॅडल रजनीश दुग्गल का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ।

1980 हिंदी के प्रसिद्ध उपन्यासकार वाचस्पति पाठक का निधन हुआ।

1982 नई दिल्ली में नौवें एशियाई खेलों की शुरूआत हुई। लंबे अर्से के बाद देश में विशाल पैमाने पर खेल स्पर्धाओं का आयोजन किया गया।

1985 बादशाह के नाम से सुविख्यात भारतीय रैपर, हिंदी, पंजाबी, हरियाणवी आदि भाषाओं के गायक, फिल्म निर्माता एवं मनोरंजन जगत के कारोबारी आदित्य प्रताप सिंह सिसोदिया का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ। इसी दिन अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति रोनाल्ड रीगन और सोवियत नेता मिखाइल गोर्बाचेव के बीच पहली मुलाकात हुई। दोनों जिनेवा में एक शिखर सम्मेलन के दौरान मिले। इसी दिन जानी मानी दक्षिण भारतीय फिल्मी गीत गायिका श्वेता मोहन का जन्म मद्रास में हुआ।

1994 भारत की ऐश्वर्या राय मिस वर्ल्ड चुनी गईं। उन्होंने बाद में फिल्मों में अभिनय और माॅडलिंग भी की।

1995 बाॅलीवुड की बेहद बोल्ड, खूबसूरत अभिनेत्री, गायिका एवं माॅडल तारा सुतारिया का जन्म बंबई में हुआ। इसी दिन भारत की प्रसिद्ध महिला भारोत्तोलक कर्णम मल्लेश्वरी ने भारोत्तोलन में विश्व कीर्तिमान बनाया।

1997 भारत में जन्मी कल्पना चावला ने अपना अंतरिक्ष मिशन शुरू किया था। उस समय उनकी उम्र महज 35 साल थी। 6 अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों के साथ उन्होंने स्पेस शटल कोलंबिया एसटीएस-87 से उड़ान भरी। इस मिशन के दौरान कल्पना ने 65 लाख मील का सफर तय किया था। 376 घंटे 34 मिनट अंतरिक्ष में बिताए। इसी के साथ कल्पना अंतरिक्ष में जाने वाली पहली भारतीय महिला बन गई।

2000 पाकिस्तान की एक अदालत ने पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री बेनजीर भुट्टो की माँ नुसरत भुट्टो को दो वर्ष के कठिन कारावास की सजा सुनाई।

2002 आस्कर पुरस्कार से सम्मानित अभिनेता जेक्स कोबर्न का लास एंजिल्स में निधन हुआ।

2005 नेपाल में पुष्प कमल दहल प्रचंड के नेतृत्व वाले माओवादी कई वार्ताओं और चर्चाओं के बाद राजा ज्ञानेंद्र के शासन के खिलाफ विपक्ष के राजनेताओं के साथ काम करने पर सहमत हुए। 2005 में इसी दिन वार-ए ग्रुप ऑफ यूनाइटेड स्टेट्स मरीन ने इराक के हदीथा शहर में 24 लोगों का नरसंहार किया।

2006 भारत ने मीडियम रेंज की न्यूक्लियर क्षमता वाली मिसाइल का परीक्षण किया था। इसके एक दिन बाद पाकिस्तान ने भी ऐसी ही मिसाइल का परीक्षण किया था।

2007 अमेजन ने किताब पढ़ने वाले इलेक्ट्रानिक उपकरण किंडल की बिक्री शुरू की, जिसने ई-बुक्स को प्रचलित बनाने में बड़ा योगदान दिया।

2008 विख्यात सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता और सर्वोदय आश्रम टडियांवा के संस्थापक रमेश भाई का निधन हुआ। इसी दिन संयुक्त राष्ट्र की अंतर्राष्ट्रीय परमाणु ऊर्जा एजेंसी के प्रमुख और हथियार निरीक्षक मोहम्मद अलबरदेई को वर्ष इंदिरा गांधी अंतर्राष्ट्रीय अवार्ड देने की घोषणा की गई।

2009 गूगल क्रोम ने अपने ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम के कोड की जानकारी दुनिया को दी।

2010 भारतीय शास्त्रीय संगीतकार आर. के. बीजापुरे का निधन हुआ। इसी दिन जानकारी सामने आई कि हैती में हैजा की महामारी के वहां की सबसे बड़ी जेल में फैलने के कारण लगभग 1,100 लोगों की जान ले ली।

2012 अंतरराष्ट्रीय चैरिटी आॅर्गनाइजेशन सेव द चिल्ड्रन के अनुसार, मध्य पूर्व में सर्दियों की शुरुआत होते ही लगभग 200,000 सीरियाई शरणार्थी बच्चे खतरे में थे।

2013 लेबनान की राजधानी बेरुत में ईरानी दूतावास के समीप हुये दोहरे आत्मघाती बम धमाके में 23 लोगों की मौत हो गई और 160 से अधिक लोग घायल हुए।

2014 कॉमेडियन बिल कॉस्बी रीमेगर पर यौन शोषण के आरोपों के चलते अमेरिकी टेलीविजन नेटवर्क एनबीसी ने उनके साथ एक परियोजना रद्द की।

2019 गोटबाया राजपक्षे ने श्रीलंका के राष्ट्रपति पद की शपथ ली।

1975 Sushmita Sen, India's first Miss Universe and famous actress, model, was born in Hyderabad.

1977 Egyptian President Anwar Sadat made a historic visit to Israel. This was the first visit to Israel by an Arab leader. During this, he presented a proposal for peace establishment.
