473 बर्गंडियन राजा गुंडोबाद ने (महल रक्षक का कमांडर) ग्लिसरियस को पश्चिमी रोमन साम्राज्य के सम्राट के रूप में नामित किया।

724 महारानी गेंशो ने अपने भतीजे शोमू के लिए सिंहासन त्याग दिया जिससे शोमू जापान का सम्राट बन गया।

1575 मुगल सम्राट अकबर ने तुकारोई की लड़ाई में बंगाल के सुल्तान दाउद खान कर्रानी की सेना को हराया।

1585 एंड्रिया पल्लाडियो द्वारा डिजाइन किये गये ओलंपिक थियेटर का विसेंजा में उद्घाटन किया गया। टीएट्रो ओलम्पिको (ओलंपिक थिएटर) उत्तरी इटली के विसेंजा में एक थिएटर है, जिसका निर्माण 1580-1585 में किया गया था। यह इतालवी पुनर्जागरण वास्तुकार एंड्रिया पल्लाडियो द्वारा अंतिम डिजाइन था और उनकी मृत्यु के बाद तक पूरा नहीं हुआ था। दूर क्षितिज तक फैली लंबी सड़कों का आभास देने के लिए विन्सेंजो स्कैमोजी द्वारा डिजाइन किया गया ट्रॉम्पे-एल’ओइल मंच का दृश्य, 1585 में थिएटर में आयोजित पहले प्रदर्शन के लिए स्थापित किया गया था, यह अब भी उपयोग में आने वाला सबसे पुराना जीवित मंच है। पूरे मंच पर पूर्ण रोमन-शैली के स्केने फ्रंट स्क्रीन को लकड़ी और प्लास्टर से बनाया गया है। यह संगमरमर की नकल है। यह एकेडेमिया ओलंपिका का घर था, जिसकी स्थापना 1555 में हुई थी।

1707 सम्राट अशोक के बाद हुए सबसे बड़े साम्राज्य विस्तारक मुगल बादशाह औरंगजेब का अहमदनगर में निधन हुआ।

2002 भारत के राजनेता और पूर्व लोकसभा अध्यक्ष जी.एम.सी. बालायोगी का आंध्र प्रदेश में हुई हेलिकॉप्टर दुर्घटना में देहांत हुआ।

2005 विश्व के नंबर एक शतरंज खिलाड़ी गैरी कास्पारोव ने शतरंज से पेशेवर रूप से अपनी सेवानिवृत्ति की घोषणा की है। इसी दिन यूक्रेन के राष्ट्रपति विक्टर यूशचेंकों की अध्यक्षता वाली राष्ट्रीय रक्षा परिषद ने इराक से अपने सैनिक वापस बुलाने का निर्णय लिया। इसी दिन अमेरिका के रोमांच प्रेमी स्टीव फोसेट ने बिना रुके विमान से लगातार 67 घंटे तक उड़ान भरकर पृथ्वी का चक्कर पूरा किया। इस दौरान उन्होंने विमान में ईंधन भी नहीं भराया।

2006 श्रीलंका के बल्लेबाज मुथैया मुरलीधरन ने अपना 100वां टेस्ट मैच खेलते हुए अपना 1000वां अंतरराष्ट्रीय विकेट हासिल किया। वे यह कारनामा करने वाले दुनिया के पहले गेंदबाज बने।

2007 पाकिस्तान ने हत्फ-2 अब्दाली बेलिस्टिक मिसाइल का परीक्षण किया।

2008 मेघालय में नई विधानसभा के लिए चुनाव में 75 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ। इसी दिन कन्या भ्रूण हत्या रोकने के लिए केंद्र सरकार ने धन लक्ष्मी नामक नई योजना शुरू की। इसी दिन दक्षिणी अफगानिस्तान में नाटो व अफगान सुरक्षा बलों के अभियान में 22 अफगान लड़ाके मारे गए।

2009 भारतीय स्टेट बैंक ने स्मार्ट यूनिट योजना लॉन्च की। इसी दिन पाकिस्तान के लाहौर में मैच खेलने जा रही श्रीलंकाई क्रिकेट टीम की बस पर हथियारबंद लोगों ने गोलियां चलाईं और इसी तारीख को राजस्थान के प्रसिद्ध उपन्यासकार, कहानीकार तथा नाटककार यादवेंद्र शर्मा चंद्र का निधन हुआ।

2011 संयुक्त राष्ट्र की एक रिपोर्ट में बताया गया कि आजकल विश्व खाद्य कीमतें 20 वर्षों में सबसे अधिक हैं।

2013 संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने 3 मार्च को विश्व वन्य जीवन दिवस के रूप में मनाने की आधिकारिक घोषणा की। 2013 में इसी दिन पाकिस्तान के कराची में शिया मुस्लिम बहुल इलाके में एक बम विस्फोट में कम से कम 45 लोग मारे गए और 180 अन्य घायल हो गए।

2014 अंतरराष्ट्रीय अमीरों का लेखा-जोखा रखने वाली तथा इसकी सूचनाओं की जानकारी जारी करने वाली पत्रिका फोर्ब्स की सूची में दुनिया के सबसे अमीर व्यक्ति की जगह बिल गेट्स को दी गई। बिल वार्षिक रैंकिंग में दुनिया में सबसे अमीर व्यक्ति बने। तब उनकी संपत्ति 76 बिलियन डाॅलर हुई। बिल ने विगत वर्ष के सबसे धनी व्यक्ति कार्लोस स्लिम को 4 बिलियन डाॅलर से पीछे छोड़ दिया।

2015 विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन ने विश्व श्रवण दिवस का आयोजन किया। यह बहरेपन की समस्या से निपटने और इसकी रोकथाम से संबंधित है। इसी दिन प्रसिद्ध बाल साहित्यकार डॉ. राष्ट्रबंधु, का निधन हुआ।

2017 निंटेंडो द्वारा विकसित निंटेंडो स्विच वीडियो गेम कंसोल दुनिया भर में रिलीज किया गया।

2018 प्रसिद्ध अमेरिकी अभिनेता, स्वर कलाकार और संगीतकार डेविड ओग्डेन स्टियर्स का निधन हुआं

2019 पीटर हर्फोर्ड ओबीई, ब्रिटिश ऑर्गेनिस्ट और संगीतकार का निधन हुआ।

2020 अमीर अमेरिकी रियल एस्टेट कार्यकारी और निवेशक चार्ल्स जे. उरस्टेड का निधन हुआ।

2023 जापानी उपन्यासकार, 1994 के साहित्य का नोबेल पुरस्कार प्राप्त केन्जाबुरो ओई का निधन हुआ।

2023 कर्नाटक के भाजपा विधायक के बेटे को 40 लाख रुपये रिश्वत लेते रंगे हाथों पकड़ने के बाद छापेमारी जारी रखते हुए लोकायुक्त अधिकारियों ने उसके और उसके सहयोगियों के घरों से 7.62 करोड़ रुपये नकद बरामद किए। पुलिस सूत्रों ने शुक्रवार 3 मार्च को इसकी पुष्टि की। लोकायुक्त की टीम ने भाजपा विधायक मदल विरुपक्षप्पा के बेटे प्रशांत के आवास और कार्यालय में नकदी पाई, जो बेंगलुरु जल आपूर्ति और सीवरेज बोर्ड (बीडब्ल्यूएसएसबी) के मुख्य लेखाकार के रूप में काम करता है। अधिकारियों ने इस सिलसिले में प्रशांत समेत पांच लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया। लोकायुक्त सूत्रों ने बताया कि 40 लाख रुपये नकद सौंपने आए प्रशांत के रिश्तेदार सिद्धेश, लेखाकार सुरेंद्र और निकोलस तथा गंगाधर नाम के दो अन्य लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया गया।

2023 लखनऊ में समाजवादी पार्टी मुखिया अखिलेश यादव ने अपने जारी बयान में कहा कि गौ-माता के खुले आम सड़कों पर घूमने से सड़क दुर्घटनाओं के कारण तमाम निर्दोष लोगों की जाने जा रही है और गौ-माता भी कई बार दुर्घटनाओं की शिकार हो जाती हैं। कहा कि भाजपा इनका संरक्षण करने में असमर्थ है। सपा नेता अखिलेश ने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री यदाकदा गोशालाओं में जाकर ही अपने कर्तव्य की इतिश्री मान लेते है। गौवंश के नाम पर भ्रष्टाचार पनप रहा है। सांड़ों की धमाचैकड़ी से प्रदेश के विभिन्न चैक चैराहों पर लोग घायल हो रहे हैं। रायबरेली के बछरावां में मवेशी से बाइकें टकराई चाचा भतीजे व छात्र की मौत हुई। औरैया में नेशनल हाई-वे पर आवारा पशु से टकराई कार, तीन लोग गंभीर घायल हो गए। सपा मुखिया ने कहा कि गौ-माता और सांड़ दोनों के पालन पोषण की भाजपा सरकार कोई व्यवस्था नहीं कर पाई है। बाराबंकी में निर्धारित समय में 47 गौशालाएं बननी थीं, वे नहीं बन सकी। यहां 12 ब्लाकों में 47 की जगह सिर्फ 3 ब्लाकों में 12 गौशालाएं बनी है। सबसे शर्मनाक बात तो यह है कि कुछ अस्पतालों को ही गौशालाओं में तब्दील कर दिया जा रहा है। कहीं पशु बांधे जा रहे हैं तो कहीं कंडे पाथे जा रहे हैं। अखिलेश यादव ने कहा कि प्रदेश का किसान आवारा पशुओं से बुरी तरह परेशान है। रात-रात भर जागकर खेतों की रखवाली करने को मजबूर है। भाजपा सरकार में किसानों की आय दोगुनी करने के बजाय उल्टा उनकी आय आधी हो गई है। किसान की आय घटने और कृषि लागत बढ़ने से किसान आत्महत्या करने को मजबूर है। अखिलेश ने दावा किया कि केवल गंज मुरादाबाद में ही करीब 300 छुट्टा पशुओं के सड़कों पर घूमने का समाचार है। बागपत समेत पूरे यूपी की सड़कों, गलियों, मोहल्लों में छुट्टा पशुओं का उत्पात मचा हुआ है। अखिलेश ने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री जी सिर्फ झूठे आश्वासनों और खोखले दावों से प्रदेश के विकास का सपना दिखाते रहते हैं। गौ-रक्षा के नाम पर कुछ अराजक तत्व प्रदेश में कानून व्यवस्था को धता बता रहे हैं। सत्ता का संरक्षण मिलने से वे और ज्यादा अनियंत्रित हो चले हैं। प्रदेश के लिए यह स्थिति अत्यंत गंभीर चिंता का विषय है।

2023 फिल्मकार एस.एस. राजमौली की फिल्म आरआरआर को एचसीए फिल्म पुरस्कार 2023 में सर्वश्रेष्ठ अंतरराष्ट्रीय फिल्म और सर्वश्रेष्ठ एक्शन फिल्म समेत चार पुरस्कारों से नवाजा गया। हॉलीवुड क्रिटिक्स एसोसिएशन (एचसीए) ने 3 मार्च की रात अमेरिका की फिल्म सिटी लॉस एंजेल्स स्थित बेवर्ली विलशायर में पुरस्कार समारोह का आयोजन किया था। फिल्म को सर्वश्रेष्ठ स्टंट के अलावा ऑस्कर के लिए नामित होने वाले गाने नाटू नाटू के लिए सर्वश्रेष्ठ गीत का पुरस्कार भी मिला। राजमौली ने सर्वश्रेष्ठ स्टंट पुरस्कार ग्रहण किया।
