293 ईस्वी में 1 मार्च को सम्राट डायोक्लेटियन और मैक्सिमियन ने कॉन्स्टेंटियस क्लोरस और गैलेरियस को सीजर नियुक्त किया। इसे टेट्रार्की की शुरुआत माना जाता है, जिसे क्वाटूर प्रिंसिपेस मुंडी (विश्व के चार शासक) कहा गया।

350 कॉन्स्टेंटियस द्वितीय की बहन कॉन्स्टेंटिना के प्रोत्साहन वेट्रानियो ने खुद को सीजर घोषित किया।

834 सम्राट लुईस पियस को फ्रैंकिश साम्राज्य के एकमात्र शासक के रूप में बहाल किया गया।

1476 कैथोलिक सम्राटों की सेनाओं ने टोरो की लड़ाई में अफोंसो पांचवें और प्रिंस जॉन की संयुक्त पुर्तगाली-कैस्टिलियन सैन्य बेड़े को शामिल किया।

1547 कोरबाक, वाल्डेक में (वाल्डेक-फ्रैंकेंबर्ग, हेस्से) में रुडोल्फ गोक्लेनियस द एल्डर का जन्म हुआ जो विख्यात जर्मन विद्वान और दार्शनिक हुए। गोकेल को 1590 में मनोविज्ञान शब्द गढ़ने का श्रेय दिया जाता है, यद्यपि इस शब्द का इस्तेमाल 66 साल पहले मार्को मारुलिक ने किया था। गोकेल को व्यापक समर्थन प्राप्त मिला और उन्होंने ऑन्कोलॉजी के क्षेत्र में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया। उन्होंने अरस्तू से लेकर अनेक विचारों के विकास को आगे बढ़ाया।

2014 चीन के कुनमिंग रेलवे स्टेशन में कुछ आतंकवादियों ने चाकू से हमला कर 29 लोगों की हत्या कर दी। 2014 में इसी दिन एलेन रेस्नाइस, फ्रांसीसी निर्देशक, छायाकार और पटकथा लेखक का निधन हुआ।

2015 प्रसिद्ध क्यूबा-अमेरिकी बेसबॉल खिलाड़ी और कोच मिन्नी मिनोसो का निधन हुआ।

2016 लोकप्रिय फ्रांसीसी लेखिका, फोटोग्राफर और अभिनेत्री कैरोल अचाचे का निधन हुआ।

2017 विख्यात गुजराती हास्य व्यंग्य लेखक तारक मेहता का निधन हुआ।

2018 बोल्ड, खूबसूरत मैक्सिकन टेलीविजन, फिल्म और मंच अभिनेत्री मारिया रुबियो का निधन हुआ।

2019 पाकिस्तानी विमान का पीछा करते हुए मिग 21 से पाकिस्तान की सीमा में चले गये विंग कमांडर अभिनंदन वर्तमान का विमान नष्ट हो गया और अभिनंदन पाकिस्तान की धरती पर उतर गये जिन्हें पाकिस्तान ने बंदी बना लिया। 60 घंटे बाद पाकिस्तान ने अभिनंदन को बाघा बाॅर्डर अभिनंदन को भारतीय अधिकारियों को सौंप दिया। 2019 में इसी दिन प्रसिद्ध ऑस्ट्रेलियाई पत्रकार और निर्माता माइक विलेसी का निधन हुआ।

2022 अपनी तमाम मांगों को लेकर विधानसभा घेरने जा रहे सरकारी कॉलेजों के एक्सटेंशन लेक्चरर्स को रोकने के लिए पंचकूला में हाउसिंग बोर्ड चौक के पास पुलिस ने उन पर वाटर कैनन का प्रयोग किया। मुख्य सड़क से हटाने के लिए पुलिस ने कई महिला लेक्चरर्स को घसीटकर गाड़ी में डाला। प्रदर्शनकारी 18 एक्सटेंशन लेक्चरर्स को पुलिस थाने ले आई। हाथों में नारे लिखी पट्टिकाएं लेकर लेक्चरर्स ने मुख्यमंत्री और शिक्षा मंत्री के खिलाफ जमकर नारेबाजी की। मुख्य सड़क को पुलिस ने पहले ही अवरोधक लगाकर बंद कर दिया था। यूनियन के प्रधान ईश्वर सिंह, संयुक्त सचिव सरोज दहिया, महिला कार्यकारिणी सदस्य डा. तरुणा पंघाल, सदस्य शेर सिंह, वीरेंद्र भी प्रदर्शन में शामिल हुए। प्रधान ईश्वर सिंह के अनुसार वाटर कैनन से दो महिलाओं सहित चार लेक्चरर्स को चोटें भी आई हैं। राजकीय कालेजों में दस साल से कार्यरत एक्सटेंशन लेक्चरर्स मांगों को लेकर दो साल से संघर्ष कर रहे हैं। पंचकूला में दिए जा रहे धरने में पूर्व शिक्षा मंत्री गीता भुक्कल भी पहुंची और कहा कि कांग्रेस पूरे मामले को विधानसभा में उठाएगी। 58 साल की आयु तक गेस्ट टीचर्स की तरह रोजगार सुरक्षा प्रदान करना, महंगाई भत्ता व वार्षिक वृद्धि देना, एचपीएससी द्वारा नियमित भर्ती के समय एक्सटेंशन लेक्चरर्स के पद को खाली न मानना, आरएच, ईएल, एमएल, सीसीएल जैसी सभी प्रकार की छुट्टियां देना आदि टीचर्स की मांगें हैं। सेक्टर 14 थाना पुलिस ने ड्यूटी में बाधा पहुंचाने और सड़क बाधित करने के आरोप में विभिन्न धाराओं के तहत करीब 12 एक्सटेंशन लेक्चरर्स के खिलाफ केस दर्ज किया है।

2023 हरियाणा की भाजपा-जजपा सरकार की ई-टेंडरिंग प्रक्रिया का विरोध कर रहे हरियाणा के सरपंचों पर पंचकूला-चंडीगढ़ सीमा पर पुलिस ने लाठीचार्ज कर दिया। पुलिस ने वाटर कैनन का प्रयोग भी किया जिससे कई पंचायती प्रतिनिधि घायल हो गए। जानकारी के मुताबिक ई-टेंडरिंग का विरोध करते हुए सीएम आवास घेरने चंडीगढ़ जा रहे सरपंचों को पुलिस ने पंचकूला में ही रोक लिया। मौके पर सीएम के ओएसडी भूपेश्वर दयाल सरपंचों से बातचीत के लिए पहुंचे, मगर सरपंचों ने उनकी कोई बात सुनने से इनकार कर उन्हें बैरंग लौटा दिया। सरपंच चंडीगढ़-पंचकूला बॉर्डर पर धरना लगाकर बैठे गए। लाठीचार्ज में लगभग 30 से 50 सरपंचों को गम्भीर चोटें आयीं। एक सरपंच को गंभीर चोट आयी जिसे आप नेता नवीन जयहिंद तुरंत अस्पताल लेकर पहुंचे। हरियाणा सरकार ने इस साल 2 लाख से ज्यादा के कामों के लिए ई-टेंडरिंग प्रक्रिया अनिवार्य कर दी। सरपंच इसका लगातार विरोध कर रहे हैं। सरपंचों का कहना है कि ऐसे में वह एक गली-नाली तक अपने स्तर पर नहीं बनवा सकते। उन्होंने विधायकों के लिए राइट टू रिकॉल की भी मांग की।

Gockel is credited with coining the term psychology in 1590, although the term had been used 66 years earlier by Marko Marulić. Gockel received widespread support and made significant contributions to the field of oncology. He carried forward the development of many ideas starting from Aristotle.

Envisat is a large Earth-observation satellite that has been inactive since 2012. It is still in orbit and is considered space debris. Operated by the European Space Agency, it is the world's largest civilian Earth observation satellite.

2015 Minnie Minoso, famous Cuban-American baseball player and coach, passes away.

2016 Popular French writer, photographer and actress Carole Achache passes away.

2017 Famous Gujarati satire writer Tarak Mehta passed away.

2018 Maria Rubio, bold, beautiful Mexican television, film and stage actress, dies.

2019 While chasing Pakistani aircraft, Wing Commander Abhinandan went into Pakistan border with MiG 21, his aircraft was destroyed and Abhinandan landed on Pakistani soil and was taken prisoner by Pakistan. After 60 hours, Pakistan handed over Abhinandan to Indian authorities at Bagha border. On this day in 2019, renowned Australian journalist and producer Mike Willacy passed away.

2022 To stop the extension lecturers of government colleges who were going to surround the assembly with their demands, the police used water cannon on them near Housing Board Chowk in Panchkula. To remove them from the main road, the police dragged several female lecturers and put them in a vehicle. The protesters brought 18 extension lecturers to the police station. Holding placards with slogans in their hands, the lecturers raised slogans against the Chief Minister and the Education Minister. The police had already closed the main road by placing barricades.
