120 दूसरी शताब्दी के हेलेनिस्टिक ज्योतिषी वेटियस वैलेंस जन्म हुआ जो क्लॉडियस टॉलेमी के कुछ हद तक युवा समकालीन थे। वैलेंस का प्रमुख कार्य एंथोलॉजी ज्योतिष पर सबसे लंबा और सबसे विस्तृत ग्रंथ जो लगभग 150 से 175 की अवधि के दौरान ग्रीक में दस खंडों में लिखा गया था। पेशेवर ज्योतिषी, वैलेंस ने एंथोलॉजी में अपनी केस फाइलों से सौ से अधिक नमूना चार्ट शामिल किए हैं।

421 कॉन्स्टेंटियस तृतीय को पश्चिमी रोमन साम्राज्य का सह-सम्राट बनाया गया।

1238 मंगोलों ने दक्षिण-पश्चिम में जाकर रूस के व्लादिमीर और कोजेलस्क के शहरों को जलाकर नष्ट कर दिया। उन्होंने पेरेयास्लाव और चेर्निहाइव दोनों पर कब्जा कर लिया।

1265 अजरबेजान और ईरान के क्षेत्र में इलखानी साम्राज्य के संस्थापक हुए हलाकू खान या हुलागू खान का इंतकाल हुआ। इलखानी साम्राज्य मंगोल साम्राज्य का भाग था।

1347 1341-47 के बीजान्टिन गृहयुद्ध में जॉन चतुर्थ कांटाकॉजेनोस और जॉन पंचम पलाइओलोस के बीच सत्ता में साझेदारी के समझौते के साथ समाप्त हुआ।

1575 नीदरलैंड के सबसे पुराने विश्वविद्यालय लीडेन यूनिवर्सिटी को प्रिंस ऑफ ऑरेंज विलियम ने लीडेन शहर में स्थापित करवाया।

1587 स्कॉट्स की रानी मैरी को अपनी चचेरी बहन महारानी एलिजाबेथ प्रथम की हत्या की बबिंगटन साजिश में शामिल होने के आरोप में फाँसी दे दी गई।

1601 एसेक्स के दूसरे अर्ल रॉबर्ट डेवेरेक्स ने महारानी एलिजाबेथ प्रथम के खिलाफ विद्रोह किया जो असफल साबित हुआ।

1693 वर्जीनिया के विलियम्सबर्ग में विलियम एंड मैरी कॉलेज (जो तेरह कालोनियों में उच्च शिक्षा का दूसरा सबसे पुराना संस्थान है) को किंग विलियम तृतीय और क्वीन मैरी द्वितीय द्वारा एक चार्टर के जरिये प्रदान किया गया।

1724 रूस के राजा पीटर द ग्रेट ने पत्नी कैथरीन प्रथम को जारीना यानी घोषित किया। एक साल के भीतर ही पीटर की मौत हो गई और ठीक 8 फरवरी 1725 को कैथरीन ने राजा की जगह खुद को रूस की साग्राज्ञी घोषित कर दिया। माना यह भी जाता है कि पीटर की मौत के पीछे जारीना कैथरीन का हाथ था। वह बेहद महत्वाकांक्षी थी और खुद सत्ता की बागडोर अपने हाथ में लेना चाहती थी। उसने पूरी दबंगई से शासन किया। कद्दाबर लोग अपने सहयोगी रखे। कहते हैं वह बहुत अय्याश थी और उसने तमाम लोगों का उपयोग अपनी यौन क्षुधा शांत करने के लिए किया।

1726 सत्ता के संचालन, नितियों के निर्धारण इत्यादि के लिए सुप्रीम प्रीवी परिषद रूस में स्थापित किया गया।

1785 भारत में 1774 से 1785 तक ब्रिटिश गर्वनर जनरल रहे वारेन हेस्टिंग्स भारत छोड़ और इंग्लैंड वापस लौटे।

1802 अमरिकन घड़ी निर्माता साइमन विलार्ड ने बैंजो घड़ी का पेटेंट कराया।

1807 नेपोलियन ने एलाऊ युद्ध में रूसी जनरल बेनिगसेन और प्रशिया जनरल एलश्एस्टोक की गठबंधन सेना को हराया।

1865 पहली बार अमेरिकी सेना में किसी अश्वेत मार्टिन रॉबिसन डेलने को मेजर बनाया गया।

1897 स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, विद्वान और भारत के तीसरे राष्ट्रपति हुए डॉ. जाकिर हुसैन का जन्म हैदराबाद में हुआ। अपना कार्यकाल पूरा करने से पहले ही वे दुनिया-ए-फानी को अलविदा कह गये। उनका विद्यर्थियों को संदेश था कि एक छात्र के जीवन का उद्देश्य किसी भी भ्रम या पूर्वाग्रहों से उबरना और उसकी बुरी आदतों को छोड़ देना चाहिए, उसे अपने अनपढ़ भाइयों के बीच शिक्षा का प्रचार प्रसार करना और शिक्षा के प्रचार प्रसार को अपनी शिक्षा का हिस्सा मानना चाहिए।

1905 हैती और आस पास के द्वीप समूहों पर आये जबरदस्त चक्रवाती तूफान से दस हजार लोगों की मौत हुई।

1909 फ्रांस और जर्मनी के बीच मोरक्को संधि पर हस्ताक्षर किये गये।

1921 मद्रास उच्च न्यायालय के मुख्य न्यायाधीश और तमिल नाडु के कार्यवाहक राज्यपाल रहे एमएम इस्माइल का जन्म हुआ।

1939 भारत के बारहवें मुख्य निर्वाचन आयुक्त हुए जेम्स माइकल लिंगदोह का जन्म हुआ।

1940 जाने माने उर्दू शायर ज़ाहिद हुसैन यानी वसीम बरेलवी का जन्म बरेली, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ।

1941 भारत के मशहूर ग़ज़ल गायक, संगीतकार और गीतकार जगजीत सिंह का जन्म श्रीगंगानगर, राजस्थान में हुआ।

1943 स्वतंत्रता सेनानी सुभाष चंद्र बोस जर्मनी के केल से एक नौका के जरिये जापान के लिये रवाना हुये।

1951 हास्य सम्राट कहे गये काका हाथरसी के दामाद हास्य व्यंग्य कवि अशोक चक्रधर का जन्म खुर्जा, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ।

1960 इंग्लैंड की महारानी एलिजाबेथ द्वितीय ने एक ऑर्डर-इन-काउंसिल जारी किया जिसमें हाउस ऑफ विंडसर की घोषणा की गई और कहा गया कि अब उनके वंशज माउंटबेटन-विंडसर का सरनेम धारण करेंगे।

1963 विख्यात भारतीय क्रिकेटर मोहम्मद अजहरुद्दीन का जन्म हैदराबाद में हुआ।

1964 मलयालम और तमिल सिनेमा के जाने माने सिनेमाटोग्राफर और निर्देशक संतोष शिवन का जन्म हरिपद में हुआ।

1968 मिस इंडिया यूनिवर्स 1988, जानी मानी खूबसूरत, बोल्ड माॅडल, फिल्म अभिनेत्री डाॅली मट्टू मिन्हास का जन्म चंडीगढ़ में हुआ।

1971 अमेरिका के न्यू याॅर्क में दुनिया के पहले इलेक्ट्रॉनिक शेयर बाजार नैस्डैक की शुरुआत हुई। इसी दिन दक्षिणी वियतनामी सेना ने लाओस पर हमला किया।

1978 जाने माने खान पान विशेषज्ञ, शेफ, लेखक, टेलीविजन शो प्रस्तोता ओर रेस्तरां संचालक रणवीर सिंह बराड़ का जन्म लखनऊ में हुआ। इसी दिन अमेरिकी सीनेट की कार्यवाही को पहली बार रेडियो पर सीधे प्रसारित किया गया।

1980 जाने माने फिल्म अभिनेता जगदीश अहलावत का जन्म रोहतक, हरियाणा में हुआ।

1986 दिल्ली हवाई अड्डे पर पहली बार प्रीपेड टैक्सी सेवा शुरु की गई। अलबर्टा के हिंटन शहर के पास एक वीआईए रेल यात्री ट्रेन और एक कनाडाई राष्ट्रीय मालगाड़ी के टकराने से तेईस लोगों की मौत हो गई, जिससे यह कनाडा में सबसे खराब रेल दुर्घटनाओं में से एक बन गई।

1988 स्टार प्लस के लोकप्रिय धारावाहिक साथ निभाना साथिया की नायिका राशि शाह मोदी और जानी मानी माॅडल, टेलीविजन और फिल्म अभिनेत्री रुचा हसबनीस का जन्म मुंबई में हुआ। उन्होंने कारोबारी राजू जगदाले से विवाह कर मनोरंजन, ग्लैमर जगत में काम करना छोड़ दिया।

1990 प्यार का पंचनामा इत्यादि फिल्मों से पहचान बनाने वाली जानी मानी खूबसूरत, बोल्ड फिल्म अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल इशिता राज शर्मा का जन्म बंबई में हुआ।

1990 जानी मानी खूबसूरत, बोल्ड भोजपुरी फिल्म अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल पूनम दुबे का जन्म इलाहाबाद, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ। इसी दिन जानी मानी टेलीविजन अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल जयश्री सोनी का जन्म जयपुर में हुआ।

1993 जाने माने भारतीय फुटबाल खिलाड़ी जाॅनी सिंह का जन्म हुआ।

1998 ओलंपिक इतिहास में पहली महिला आइस हॉकी खेल में फिनलैंड ने स्वीडन को लगभग 6-8 अंकों से हराया।

1999 अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष यान स्टारडस्ट केनेडी अंतरिक्ष केंद्र से रवाना हुआ।

2002 भारत तथा रूस के बीच चार रक्षा समझौते हुए। इसी दिन, विमानवाहक पोत गोर्शकोव का सौदा अटका। अमेरिका के साल्ट लेक सिटी में 19वें शीतकालीन ओलंपिक खेल शुरु।

2005 इजरायल और फिलिस्तीन के बीच शर्म अल शेख (मिस्र) शिखर सम्मेलन में हिंसा समाप्त करने की घोषणा हुई।

2006 सिओल में भारत और दक्षिण कोरिया के बीच तीन समझौते हुए।

2007 भूटान नरेश जिग्मे खेसर नामग्याल भारत आये।

2008 बैंगलौर के इंडियन इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ साइंस के वरिष्ठ वैज्ञानिक शांतनु भट्टाचार्य को घनश्याम दास. बिड़ाला पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया। इसी दिन उत्तर प्रदेश विधान मंडल का बजट सत्र प्रारंभ हुआ। इसी दिन उड़ीसा के शिशुपालगढ़ में खुदाई के दौरान 2500 वर्ष पुराना शहर मिला। इसी दिन अमेरिका में राष्ट्रपति पद के लिए हुए चुनाव में जॉन मैक्केन को रिपब्लिकन पार्टी का उम्मीदवार घोषित किया गया। इसी दिन अमेरिका के अंतरिक्ष यान अटलांटिस को फ्लोरिडा के केनवाल से अंतर्राष्ट्रीय अंतरिक्ष केन्द्र के लिए सफलतापूर्वक रवाना किया गया।

2014 सऊदी अरब के मदीना शहर में एक होटल में आग लगने से 15 लोगों की मौत हुई और 130 लोग घायल हुए।

2015 प्रसिद्ध फिनिश चिकित्सक और परामनोवैज्ञानिक रौनी-लीना ल्यूकानेन-किल्डे का निधन हुआ।

2016 लंदन, इंग्लैंड में मार्गरेट फोर्स्टर (जन्म 25 मई 1938) का निधन हुआ जो प्रतिष्ठित ब्रिटिश अंग्रेजी उपन्यासकार, जीवनी लेखक, संस्मरणकार, इतिहासकार और आलोचक हुईं, जिन्हें 1965 के उपन्यास जॉर्जी गर्ल के लिए जाना जाता है, जिस पर इसी नाम की एक सफल फिल्म बनी थी। इस फिल्म का द सीकर्स का एक हिट गाना।

2023 कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे ने राज्यसभा में अमेरिकी वित्तीय शोध कंपनी हिंडनबर्ग रिसर्च द्वारा अडाणी समूह को लेकर लगाए गए आरोपों की जांच के लिए संयुक्त संसदीय समिति (जेपीसी) गठित करने की मांग की। उच्च सदन में राष्ट्रपति के अभिभाषण पर धन्यवाद प्रस्ताव पर हुई चर्चा में भाग ले रहे नेता प्रतिपक्ष खड़गे ने अडाणी समूह से जुड़े आरोपों का जिक्र करते हुए कहा कि एक व्यक्ति की संपत्ति दो-ढाई साल में 12-13 गुना बढ़ कर 12 लाख करोड़ रुपये हो गई। उन्होंने इतनी तेज गति से संपत्ति बढ़ने पर सवाल करते हुए कहा कि अडाणी समूह के खिलाफ लगाए गए आरोपों की जांच के लिए जेपीसी गठित की जानी चाहिए तभी दूध का दूध और पानी का पानी हो सकेगा। खड़गे ने सवाल किया कि सरकार जेपीसी के गठन से क्यों डर रही है? उन्होंने कहा, लेकिन विपक्ष अपनी इस मांग को नहीं छोड़ने वाला है। खड़गे ने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा था कि न खाऊंगा न खाने दूंगा लेकिन उनके एक दोस्त की संपत्ति कुछ ही सालों में 13 गुना बढ़ गई। सभापति जगदीप धनखड़ ने खड़गे से कहा कि वह ऐसा आरोप नहीं लगाएं जिसे वह सत्यापित नहीं कर सकते हैं। धनखड़ ने कहा कि सदन में किसी को भी, किसी भी तरह के आरोप लगाने की अनुमति नहीं दी जा सकती है। खड़गे ने कहा कि सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के बैंकों ने अडाणी समूह को भारी रकम कर्ज के तौर पर दी है और समूह उसी राशि से सार्वजिनक क्षेत्र के उपक्रमों को खरीद रहा है। खड़गे के भाषण के दौरान कई बार सत्ता पक्ष एवं विपक्ष के बीच टोकाटोकी हुई। खड़गे ने नरेंद्र मोदी सरकार पर हमला बोलते हुए आरोप लगाया कि सत्तारूढ़ दल के नेता नफरत की बात करते हैं। उन्होंने राहुल गांधी के नेतृत्व में हाल में संपन्न भारत जोड़ो यात्रा का जिक्र करते हुए कहा कि 3600 किलोमीटर लंबी वह यात्रा किसी के खिलाफ नहीं थी बल्कि लोगों के विचारों को सुनने और उनकी बातों से मार्गदर्शन लेने के लिए थी। उन्होंने सत्तारूढ़ भाजपा पर हमला तेज करते हुए कहा कि जिम्मेदार सांसद और मंत्री भी हिंदू-मुस्लिम की बात करते रहते हैं।

1986 Prepaid taxi service was started for the first time at Delhi Airport. Twenty-three people were killed when a VIA Rail passenger train and a Canadian National freight train collided near the town of Hinton, Alberta, making it one of the worst rail accidents in Canada.
