138 रोमन सम्राट हैड्रियन ने एंटोनिनस पायस को अपने बेटे के रूप में गोद लिया। जिससे वह प्रभावी रूप से अपना उत्तराधिकारी बन। हैड्रियन 117 ई से 138 ई तक रोमन सम्राट था। हैड्रियन द्वारा गोद लिए गये टाइटस एलियस हैड्रियनस एंटोनिनस पायस 138 ई. से 161 ई. तक रोमन सम्राट रहे। वह नेरवा-एंटोनिन राजवंश के पांच अच्छे सम्राटों में से चौथे थे। एक सीनेटरियल परिवार में जन्मे, एंटोनिनस ने सम्राट हैड्रियन के शासनकाल के दौरान विभिन्न पदों पर कार्य किया।

628 सासैनियन साम्राज्य, ईरान के अंतिम महान राजा खुशरो द्वितीय को उनके बेटे कावड द्वितीय ने सत्ता से बेदखल किया।

1336 पिलेनाई के 4000 रक्षकों ने ट्यूटनिक लड़ाकों द्वारा बंदी बनाये जाने के बाद सामूहिक आत्महत्या कर ली। यह स्थान लिथुआनिया के ग्रैंड डची का पहाड़ी किला है।

1570 पोप पायस पंचम ने इंग्लैंड के चर्च में महारानी एलिजाबेथ प्रथम और उनके अनुयायियों को बहिष्कृत करने के लिए एक्सेलस में पीपुल बैल रेगन जारी किया।

1586 मुगल शासक अकबर महान के दरबारी नवरत्नों में से एक बीरबल यूसुफजई के साथ लड़ाई में मारे गये।

1894 एक चर्चित आध्यात्मिक गुरु, स्वयं को युग अवतार और भगवान बताने वाले मेहर बाबा का जन्म पुणे में हुआ।

1971 स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, राजनीतिज्ञ और असम के मुख्यमंत्री रहे विमल प्रसाद चालिहा का निधन हुआ।

1972 जानी मानी स्टाइलिश भारतीय फैशन डिजाइनर, माॅडल एवं अभिनेत्री अनैता श्राॅफ अदजानिया का जन्म हुआ।

1973 जाने माने हिंदी एवं तमिल, तेलुगू और अन्य दक्षिण भारतीय भाषाओं के प्रसिद्ध फिल्म निर्देशक गौतम वासुदेव मेनन का जन्म ओट्टापलम, केरल में हुआ।

1974 बीसवीं सदी के आठवें दशक की लोकप्रिय अभिनेत्री दिव्या भारती का जन्म बंबई में हुआ। बहुत कम समय में यह बेहद चर्चित और सर्वाधिक पारिश्रमिक लेने वाल अभिनेत्री बनीं। अप्रैल 1993 में बहुमंजिला इमारत से गिरकर इनकी मौत हो गई। 

1975 लिविंगस्टन, न्यू जर्सी में जन्म हुआ चेल्सी जॉय हैंडलर का। चेल्सी प्रसिद्ध अमेरिकी स्टैंड-अप कॉमेडियन, अभिनेत्री, लेखिका, टेलीविजन होस्ट, निर्माता, अभिव्यक्ति के अधिकार की पैरोकार, गर्भपात की आजादी की मुखर समर्थक, डोनाल्ड ट्रंप की कटु आलोचक और हिलेरी क्लिंटन की समर्थक हैं। इसी दिन सऊदी अरब के तत्कालीन शासक शाह फैसल की उनके ही भतीजे फैसल बिन मुसाद ने हत्या कर दी।

1980 ब्रिटेन ओलंपिक संघ ने ब्रितानी सरकार के विरोध और दबाव के बावजूद उसी वर्ष जुलाई में मॉस्को में होने वाले ओलंपिक खेलों में शामिल होने का फैसला किया था।

1981 जाने माने बाॅलीवुड हिंदी फिल्म अभिनेता तथा माॅडल शाहिद कपूर का दिल्ली में जन्म हुआ।

1986 मारिया कोराजोन अकीनो के फिलीपिंस की राष्ट्रपति बनने के साथ ही देश में 20 वर्ष से काबिज तानाशाह फर्डिनांड मार्कोस का शासन भी खत्म हो गया। 22 फरवरी को मेट्रो मनीला में एपिफानियो डी लॉस सैंटोस एवेन्यू नामक एक प्रसिद्ध एवेन्यू पर मार्कोस के कुशासन के खिलाफ व्यापक शांतिपूर्ण प्रदर्शनों की एक श्रृंखला शुरु हुई जिसके बाद 25 फरवरी को मार्कोस ने सत्ता छोड़ने के साथ देश से भी पलायन कर लिया। इस विरोध में सरकारी कार्मिक और सेना भी शामिल थी। 25 फरवरी को पीपुल्स पावर रिवोल्यूशन डे पूरे फिलीपींस में उत्साह और उमंग साथ मनाया जाता है। जिसमें सरकार की जनविरोधी नीतियों की आलोचना होती है। फिलीपींस के वर्तमान राष्ट्रपति रोड्रिगो दुतेर्ते से भी जनता परेशान है।

1987 फिर मिलोगे कभी इस बात का वादा कर लो.. जैसे तमाम लोकप्रिय फिल्मी गीतों के रचयिता शम्शुल हुदा बिहारी का निधन हुआ।

1988 सतह से सतह तक मार करने वाली भारत की प्रथम मिसाइल पृथ्वी का सफल प्रक्षेपण हुआ।

1991 जाने माने टेलीविजन और फिल्म अभिनेता तथा माॅडल अली गोनी का जन्म जम्मू एवं कश्मीर के भद्रवाह में हुआ।

1992 जानी मानी, खूबसूरत और बोल्ड फिल्म अभिनेत्री तथा माॅडल सान्या मल्होत्रा का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ। इसी दिन रूस के करीब नागोर्नो-करबाख युद्ध में अर्मेनियाई सशस्त्र बलों ने अजरबैजान के नागोर्नो-करबाखग्रियन के खोजाली शहर से 613 जातीय अजरबैजान नागरिकों की हत्या की गई।

1993 जाने माने भारतीय फुटबाॅल खिलाड़ी प्रोनाय हल्दर का जन्म बैरकपुर, पश्चिम बंगाल में हुआ।

1994 मिस दिवा यूनिवर्स 2015, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड माॅडल तथा अभिनेत्री उर्वशी रौतेला का जन्म कोटद्वार, गढ़वाल, उत्तराखंड में हुआ। 1994 में इसी दिन इजरायली चिकित्सक बरूच गोल्डस्टीन ने हेब्रोन मस्जिद में एके47 बंदूक से अंधाधुंध नमाजियों पर गोलीबारी की जिसमें 29 लोग मारे गए और 125 अन्य घायल हो गए। इसके बाद घटना के विरोध करने जुटे प्रदर्शनकारियों पर सेना की फायरिंग में दर्जनों लोग मारे गये।

1995 असम में ट्रेन में दो बम ब्लास्ट हुए। सेना के 22 जवानों की मौत हुई।

1998 40वें ग्रैमी अवार्ड्स में प्रमुख पुरस्कार शॉन कॉल्विन, बॉब डिलन, सारा मैक्लाक्लन और एल्ला जॉन को मिले।

2000 रूस की निचली संसद ड्यूमा ने भारत के साथ द्विपक्षीय प्रत्यर्पण संधि का अनुमोदन।

2001 क्रिकेट के महानतम बल्लेबाज सर डॉन ब्रैडमैन का 92 साल की उम्र निधन हुआ। टेस्ट क्रिकेट में ब्रैडमैन के 99.94 एवरेज का रिकॉर्ड आज भी कायम है तथा ऐसा माना जाता है कि इस रिकॉर्ड का टूटना करीब नामुमकिन है। 27 अगस्त 1908 को न्यू साउथ वेल्स में जन्मे डोनाल्ड जॉर्ज ब्रैडमैन ऑस्ट्रेलिया के लिए 1928 से 1948 तक 20 साल खेले। अपने 52 टेस्ट के करियर में ब्रैडमैन ने 99.94 के अविश्वसनीय एवरेज से 10 बार नॉट आउट रहते हुए 6,996 रन बनाए। इसमें 29 शतक और 13 अर्धशतक शामिल थे। टेस्ट क्रिकेट में अब तक कोई भी बल्लेबाज ब्रैडमैन के एवरेज के आसपास भी नहीं पहुंच पाया है। ब्रैडमैन के बाद टेस्ट क्रिकेट में सबसे ऊंचा एवरेज ऑस्ट्रेलिया के एडम वोग्स (61.87) का है। टेस्ट क्रिकेट में सबसे ज्यादा रन बनाने वाले सचिन तेंदुलकर का एवरेज भी 53.78 रहा है। साथ ही टेस्ट क्रिकेट में ब्रैडमैन के नाम 12 डबल सेंचुरी का वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड भी दर्ज है। ब्रैडमैन ने 234 फर्स्ट क्लास मैचों में 117 शतकों और 69 अर्धशतकों की मदद से 28,067 रन बनाए थे।

2003 गुटनिरपेक्ष आन्दोलन के 13वें शिखर सम्मेलन में क्वालालंपुर घोषणा स्वीकृत किया गया।

2004 दक्षिण भारतीय सिनेमा के प्रसिद्ध निर्माता-निर्देशक बी. नागी रेड्डी का निधन हुआ।

2005 रेडियो कनाडा इंटरनेशनल ने अपनी स्थापना की 60वीं वर्षगांठ मनाई।

2006 दीपा मेहता की फिल्म वाटर को गोल्डेन किन्नारी पुरस्कार मिला।

2010 सन 2008 के मुंबई हमले के बाद पहली बार भारत-पाकिस्तान के विदेश मंत्रियों के बीच बात हुई।

2011 भारतीय सेना ने झारखंड में आयोजि 34वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों में 62 स्वर्ण पदकों के साथ तालिका में पहला स्थान बनाया,दूसरा स्थान मणिपुर को मिला।

2013 रूस ने स्कूलों, स्कूलों के आसपास और उपमार्गों पर धूम्रपान प्रतिबंध संबंधी कानून बनाया।

2015 पूर्वोत्तर अफगानिस्तान में हिमस्खलन में 310 से अधिक लोग मारे गये।

2016 न्यूटन और हेस्टन के छोटे कैनसस शहरों में गोलीबारी की एक श्रृंखला में 3 लोग मारे गए और 14 अन्य घायल हो गए।

2017 बिल पैक्सटन, प्रसिद्ध अमेरिकी अभिनेता और फिल्म निर्माता का निधन हुआ।

2020 दिमित्री याजोव, सोवियत संघ के अंतिम मार्शल का निधन हुआ।

2022 लोकप्रिय, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड अमेरिकी फिल्म अभिनेत्री एवं मॉडल फराह फोर्के का निधन हुआ। 2022 में इसी दिन प्रतिष्ठित ब्रिटिश अंग्रेजी लेखक और चित्रकार शर्ली ह्यूजेस का निधन हुआ। 

2023 प्रसिद्ध कनाडाई अभिनेता, निर्देशक और पटकथा लेखक गॉर्डन पिंसेंट का निधन हुआ।

Born into a senatorial family, Antoninus served in various positions during the reign of Emperor Hadrian.

628 Khusro II, the last great king of the Sasanian Empire, Iran, is ousted from power by his son Kavad II.

1993 Famous Indian football player Pronay Halder was born in Barrackpore, West Bengal.

1994 Miss Diva Universe 2015, beautiful, bold model and actress Urvashi Rautela was born in Kotdwar, Garhwal, Uttarakhand. On this day in 1994, Israeli doctor Baruch Goldstein opened fire indiscriminately on worshipers in the Hebron Mosque with an AK47 gun, killing 29 people and injuring 125 others. After this, dozens of people were killed in the army firing on the protesters who gathered to protest against the incident.

1995 Two bomb blasts took place in a train in Assam. 22 army soldiers died.

Major awards at the 40th Grammy Awards in 1998 went to Shawn Colvin, Bob Dylan, Sarah McLachlan and Ella John.

In his 52 Test career, Bradman scored 6,996 runs at an incredible average of 99.94, remaining not out 10 times. This included 29 centuries and 13 half-centuries. Till now no batsman has been able to reach even close to Bradman's average in Test cricket. After Bradman, Australia's Adam Voges (61.87) has the highest average in Test cricket. Sachin Tendulkar, who scored the most runs in Test cricket, also has an average of 53.78. Apart from this, Bradman also holds the world record of 12 double centuries in Test cricket. Bradman scored 28,067 runs in 234 first class matches with the help of 117 centuries and 69 half-centuries.
