1304 अरब यात्री, इतिहासकार, चिंतक और लेखक अबु अब्दुल्लाह मोहम्मद इब्न बतूता का मोरक्को के तंजीर में जन्म हुआ। इन्होंने 75000 किलोमीटर की भारत यात्रा की और मोहम्मद बिन तुगलक के शासन काल में 1433 में भारत आए।

1377 माघ पूर्णिमा को वाराणसी के नजदीक गांव सीर गोवर्धन में रविदास का जन्म हुआ। रविदास दलित वर्ग में पैदा हुए 14वीं सदी के विख्यात भक्ति कवि, संत और समाज सुधारक हुए। इस बार माघ पूर्णिमा 24 फरवरी को है, इसलिए आज संत रविदास को मानने वाले उनका जन्म दिन मना रहे हैं।

1463 मिरांडोला, मिरांडोला की डची में जियोवन्नी पिको देई कोंटी डेला मिरांडोला ई डेला कॉनकॉर्डिया का जन्म हुआ। संक्षेप में इन्हें पिको डेला मिरांडोला के नाम से जाना जाता है। वह इतालवी पुनर्जागरण महान व्यक्ति और दार्शनिक थे। 23 साल की उम्र में उन्होंने सभी लोगों के खिलाफ धर्म, दर्शन, प्राकृतिक दर्शन और जादू पर 900 थीसिस का बचाव करने का प्रस्ताव रखा, जिसके लिए उन्होंने मनुष्य की गरिमा पर व्याख्यान लिखा, जो इसे पुनर्जागरण का घोषणापत्र कहा गया है। पुनर्जागरण मानवतावाद का एक प्रमुख पाठ और जिसे हर्मेटिक रिफॉर्मेशन कहा गया है। वह ईसाई कबला की परंपरा के संस्थापक थे, जो प्रारंभिक आधुनिक पश्चिमी गूढ़वाद का एक प्रमुख सिद्धांत था। 900 थीसिस चर्च द्वारा सार्वभौमिक रूप से प्रतिबंधित की जाने वाली पहली मुद्रित पुस्तक थी। पिको को प्रोटो-प्रोटेस्टेंट के रूप में देखा जाता है। 

1510 पोप जूलियस द्वितीय ने वेनिस (इटली) के गणराज्य का बहिष्कार किया।

1525 शाही सेना ने पाविया की लड़ाई में फ्रेंच को हराया।

1927 हिंदी फिल्मों तथा भारतीय टेलीविजन की प्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री कामिनी कौशल का जन्म लाहौर में हुआ। उनकी नीचा नगर और बिराज बहू जैसी तमाम फिल्में बेहद मशहूर हुईं। 1946 में उन्हें कांस फिल्मोत्सव में फ्रांस का पुरस्कार पामे डी’ओर मिला।

1931 विख्यात बांग्ला फिल्म अभिनेता तरुण कुमार चटर्जी का जन्म कलकत्ता में हुआ।

1938 डु पोंट ने नायलॉन टूथब्रश का व्यावसायिक उत्पादन शुरू किया।

1939 हिंदी फिल्मों के मशहूर अभिनेता और निर्माता तथा निर्देशक जॉय मुखर्जी का जन्म हुआ।

1942 अमेरिकी सरकारी अंतरराष्ट्रीय रेडियो प्रसारण सेवा वॉयस ऑफ अमेरिका की शुरुआत हुई। इसी दिन कलकत्ता में गायत्री चक्रवर्ती स्पीवाक का जन्म हुआ। वे विख्यात भारतीय - अमेरिकी साहित्यिक विचारक, दार्शनिक, कोलंबिया विश्वविद्यालय अमेरिका में प्रोफेसर, तुलनात्मक साहित्य और समाज संस्थान की संस्थापक सदस्य है। वर्ष 2012 मे उन्हे कला और दर्शनशास्र में क्योटो पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया। इसके अतिरिक्त उन्हें भारत का पद्मभूषण और दुनिया के अन्य कई प्रतिष्ठित सम्मान, पुरस्कार मिले हैं।

1945 मिस्र और सीरिया ने तानाशाह एडोल्फ हिटलर शासित नाजी-जर्मनी के खिलाफ युद्ध की घोषणा की।

1946 मशहूर ब्रिटिश फिल्म निर्देशक और पटकथा लेखक माइकल जेम्स रेडफोर्ड का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ। इसी दिन जुआन पेरेन अर्जेंटीना के राष्ट्रपति चुने गए।

1985 विख्यात संगीतज्ञ ए. आर. रहमान के सहयोगी, संगीतकार नकश अजीज का जन्म मंगलौर में हुआ।

1986 प्रसिद्ध भारतीय भरतनाट्यम नृत्यांगना रुक्मिणी देवी अरुंडेल का निधन हुआ। इसी दिन टेक्सास एयर ने पूर्वी एयरलाइंस को 676 मिलियन डॉलर में खरीदा।

1987 खूबसूरत, बोल्ड, जानी मानी हिंदी, अंग्रेजी और कई अन्य भाषाओं की फिल्मों की अभिनेत्री और माॅडल टीना देसाई का जन्म बंगलौर में हुआ।

1996 मेग मॉलोन ने एलपीजीए कप ओ नूडल्स हवाईयन लेडीज गोल्फ ओपन जीता।

1997 चीन के नेता देंग जियाओपिंग का अंतिम संस्कार किया गया। उनका 19 फरवरी को निधन हुआ था।

1998 बीसवीं सदी की लोकप्रिय फिल्म अभिनेत्रियों में से एक ललिता पवार का निधन हुआ।

2003 चीन के जिजियांग प्रांत में हुए भीषण भूकम्प से 257 लोग मारे गये।

2004 रूस के राष्ट्रपति व्लादीमीर पुतिन ने प्रधानमंत्री मिखाइल कास्यानोव को पद से हटाया।

2006 फिलीपीन के राष्ट्रपति ग्लोरिया मैकापगल-अरोयो ने एक संभावित सैन्य तख्तापलट आशंका के चलते आपातकाल लगाया।

2008 लंबे समय तक क्यूबा के सर्वोच्च नेता रहे फिदेल कास्त्रो ने राष्ट्रपति पद से त्याग पत्र दिया। 2008 में इसी दिन मुंबई की शगुन साराभाई ने दक्षिण अफ्रीका के जोहांसवर्ग में मिस इंडिया वर्ल्ड वाइड का खिताब जीता।

2009 भारत सरकार ने सेवा कर उत्पाद शुल्क में कटौती की घोषणा की।

2011 यमन के राष्ट्रपति अली अब्दुल्ला सालेह ने देश के सुरक्षा बलों को प्रदर्शनकारियों की रक्षा करने का आदेश दिया। इसी दिन भारतीय शिक्षाविद और अमर चित्रकथा काॅमिक्स के संस्थापक अनंत पै का निधन हुआ।

2013 राउल कास्त्रो दूसरे कार्यकाल के लिये क्यूबा के राष्ट्रपति चुने गये।

2015 अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति बराक हुसैन ओबामा ने कीस्टोन एक्सएल प्रोजेक्ट का समर्थन किया।

2018 बॉलीवुड की चर्चित, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड, बहुत सफल अभिनेत्री श्रीदेवी का निधन हुआ।

2020 पाकतन हरपन सरकार को बदलने के प्रयास के बाद महाथिर मोहम्मद ने मलेशिया के प्रधानमंत्री पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया, जिससे 2020-2022 मलेशियाई राजनीतिक संकट शुरू हो गया।

2022 डोनेट्स्क और लुहान्स्क को स्वतंत्र राज्यों के रूप में मान्यता देने के कुछ दिनों बाद रूस के राष्ट्रपति व्लादिमीर पुतिन ने यूक्रेन पर पूर्ण पैमाने पर आक्रमण का आदेश दिया।

2023 जाने माने चुनावी रणनीतिकार प्रशांत किशोर ने कहा कि अन्ना आंदोलन के कारण यूपीए सरकार सत्ता से जरूर बाहर हुई, लेकिन फिर भी देश से भ्रष्टाचार खत्म नहीं हुआ। जनसुराज पदयात्रा से बिहार की राजनीति में अपनी पहचान बनाने में जुटे किशोर ने यात्रा के 146 वें दिन की शुरूआत सिवान के दोन बुजुर्ग पंचायत स्थित द्रोणाचार्य स्टेडियम में सर्वधर्म प्रार्थना से हुई। प्रशांत किशोर ने पत्रकारों से चर्चा करते हुए कहा कि लोगों के मन में एक घबराहट है कि कल कोई मंगल ग्रह से आएगा और परसों आंदोलन करके 3 दिनों मे बिहार को सुधार देगा। सबसे पहले लोगों को इस मानसिकता से निकलना होगा, जन सुराज कोई सामाजिक आंदोलन नहीं है और ना ही दल बनाकर वोट लेने का अभियान है। प्रशांत किशोर ने कहा कि आंदोलन और क्रांति तेज हथियार की तरह है, इससे आप किसी सत्ता को उखाड़ सकते हैं, तेज हथियार से बड़े-बड़े पेड़ को काटा जा सकता है, लेकिन तेज हथियार से आप पौधे को पेड़ नहीं बना सकते हैं। प्रशांत किशोर ने  लोग कहते हैं कि जेपी आंदोलन से बिहार नहीं सुधरा तो आगे कैसे सुधरेगा तो पहली बात तो ये है कि जेपी का आंदोलन बिहार को सुधारने के लिए था ही नहीं। जेपी का आंदोलन उस समय की केंद्र सरकार के खिलाफ था और जेपी उसमें कामयाब भी हुए और इंदिरा गांधी की सरकार को बदल दिया गया।

2023 महाराष्ट्र के कोल्हापुर स्थित प्रसिद्ध कनेरी मठ से बेहद शर्मनाक घटना सामने आई जिसमें एक उत्सव में मुख्यमंत्री, मंत्री, राज्यपाल शामिल हुए और इसी मठ में करीब 5 दर्जन गायें दूषित, बचा हुआ खाना खाने से मर गईं। मामले को कवर करने गये मीडिया कर्मियों को मठ कर्मियों ने मारपीट कर भगा दिया। बताया कि उत्सव में लोगों की भारी आमद को देखते हुए भंडारा चालू था और इसमें बचा हुआ भोजन बर्बाद न हो, इसलिए गायों को दे दिया गया। इससे गायें बीमार हो गईं और शुक्रवार को करीब 5 दर्जन गायों की मौत हो गई। इस प्रकरण की खबर लगने पर मठ में कवरेज के लिए पहुंचे इलेक्ट्रॉनिक मीडियो के प्रतिनिधियों से मारपीट की उन्हें धकिया कर मठ से बाहर कर दिया। इस मामले में गोकुल शिरगांव थाने में शिकायत दर्ज करवाई गई है। पत्रकार संगठनों की ओर से मांग की गई है कि संबंधित स्वयंसेवकों के खिलाफ तत्काल कार्रवाई की जाए।

2023 बाॅलीवुड के जाने माने अभिनेता नवाजुद्दीन सिद्दीकी और उनकी पत्नी जैनब को अपने दो नाबालिग बच्चों से संबंधित मतभेदों को हल करने की कोशिश करने का बंबई उच्च न्यायालय ने सुझाव दिया। सिद्दीकी ने उच्च न्यायालय में बंदी प्रत्यक्षीकरण याचिका दायर कर अलग रह रही अपनी पत्नी जैनब को इस बारे में जानकारी देने का निर्देश दिये जाने का अनुरोध किया था कि उनकी 12 वर्षीय बेटी और सात वर्षीय बेटा कहां हैं ? न्यायमूर्ति ए. एस. गडकरी और न्यायमूर्ति पी. डी. नाइक की खंडपीठ ने अभिनेता और उनकी पत्नी को बच्चों के संबंध में अपने मतभेदों को हल करने की कोशिश करने के लिए कहा है। अदालत ने कहा कि वह (सिद्दीकी) केवल अपने बच्चों और उनकी शिक्षा के बारे में चिंतित हैं। एक दूसरे के साथ बात करें। यदि यह काम किया जा सकता है तो अच्छा होगा कि मामले को सौहार्दपूर्वक निपटा लिया जाये। नवाजुद्दीन के अधिवक्ता प्रदीप थोराट ने अदालत को बताया कि अभिनेता को इस बारे में जानकारी नहीं है कि उनके बच्चे कहां हैं। थोराट ने कहा कि याचिकाकर्ता (सिद्दीकी) ने सोचा कि उनके बच्चे दुबई में हैं। लेकिन उन्हें अब बच्चों के स्कूल से एक मेल मिला है कि वे अपनी कक्षाओं में नहीं जा रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि अभिनेता की पत्नी नवंबर 2022 में बच्चों के बिना दुबई से भारत आई थी। उन्होंने बताया कि महिला और उसके बच्चे दुबई के स्थायी निवासी हैं।
