763 इराक के नगर कुफा के पास अलीद और अब्बासिद के बीच बखमरा की लड़ाई ईसा इब्न मूसा के भाई इब्राहिम की मृत्यु के बाद अलीद विद्रोह खत्म हुआ।

1525 स्विस एनाबैप्टिस्ट आंदोलन की स्थापना हुई जब कॉनराड ग्रेबेल, फेलिक्स मंज, जॉर्ज ब्लाउरॉक और लगभग एक दर्जन अन्य लोगों ने ज्यूरिख में मंज की मां के घर में एक-दूसरे को बपतिस्मा दिया, जिससे चर्च-राज्य संघ की एक हजार साल की परंपरा टूट गई।

2023 एक 72 वर्षीय व्यक्ति हू कैन ट्रान ने कैलिफोर्निया के मोंटेरे पार्क में एक डांस स्टूडियो में गोलीबारी की, जिसमें ग्यारह लोगों की मौत हो गई और नौ अन्य घायल हो गए और बाद में में इस हत्यारे ने आत्महत्या कर ली। 2008 के कोविना नरसंहार के बाद लॉस एंजिल्स काउंटी में यह सबसे भीषण सामूहिक गोलीबारी थी। इसी दिन उच्चतम न्यायालय की पूर्व न्यायाधीश ज्ञान सुधा मिश्रा ने हिंदी नवजागरण के अग्रदूत शिवपूजन सहाय की साठवीं पुण्यतिथि के मौके पर आयोजित समारोह को संबोधित करते हुए समाज में साहित्य के प्रति घटती रुचि पर गहरी चिंता व्यक्त की और कहा है कि आज की पीढ़ी किताबें कम पड़ती हैं बल्कि टीवी सीरियल अधिक देखा करती है जिसके कारण उनके भीतर वो संस्कार नहीं आते जो साहित्य हमें देता है। झारखंड उच्च न्यायालय की पहली मुख्य न्यायाधीश रह चुकी न्यायमूर्ति मिश्रा ने कहा कि हम लोग अपने जमाने मे लेखकों का ऑटोग्राफ लेते थे। जब मैं सोलह 17 साल की थी तो मेरे घर में राष्ट्रकवि रामधारी सिंह दिनकर आए तो मैं उन्हें देखकर रोमांचित हो गयी और उनका ऑटोग्राफ लेने के लिए दौड़ पड़ी। दिनकर जी ने मेरे प्रोत्साहन के लिए चार पंक्ति की एक कविता तत्काल रचकर भेंट की। अमेरिका के लॉस एंजिलिस में चीनी नववर्ष लूनर न्यू ईयर के जश्न के दौरान 21 जनवरी की देर रात गोलीबारी में 10 लोगों की मौत हो गई जबकि 10 अन्य् घायल हुए हैं। लॉस एंजिलिस काउंटी शेरिफ विभाग के सार्जेंट बॉब बोइस ने बताया कि रविवार तड़के मोंटेरे पार्क में गारवे एवेन्यू में गोलीबारी हुई। गोलीबारी करने वाला पुरुष है। पुलिस के अनुसार, इससे पहले सूचना मिली थी कि अंधाधुंध फायरिंग की घटना में कम से कम 20 लोगों को गोली लगी। पुलिस ने इलाके की घेराबंदी करके घायलों को अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया है। गोलीबारी कैलिफोर्निया के लॉस एंजिल्स के डाउनटाउन से लगभग 11 किलोमीटर दूर मोंटेरे पार्क में हुई जहां चीनी नव वर्ष समारोह का आयोजन किया जा रहा था। रात यहां अचानक फायरिंग शुरु हो गयी। इस समारोह में भारी संख्या में लोग मौजूद थे।

Mrinalini Sarabhai - worldwide respected Indian dancer, choreographer, dance teacher, writer, social worker.

Mrinalini Vikram Sarabhai (born Mrinalini Swaminathan on 11 May 1918) died on 21 January 2016 in a hospital in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. She was a highly celebrated, renowned classical dancer, choreographer and dance instructor of India. She was the founder and director of Darpana Academy of Performing Arts, an institute providing training in dance, drama, music and puppetry in the city of Ahmedabad. He received the Padma Bhushan in 1992 and the Padma Shri in 1965. He received many other honors and awards for his contribution to the arts. Mrinalini married Vikram Sarabhai, a noted Indian physicist, in 1942, who is considered the father of the Indian space programme. They have a son, Karthikeya, and a daughter, Mallika, who achieved fame in dance and theatre. Mrinalini founded Darpan in 1948 in Ahmedabad. He performed at the Théâtre National de Chaillot in Paris.

It is said that the married life of Mrinalini and Vikram was painful. According to biographer Amrita Shah, there was a void in Vikram Sarabhai's personal life which he tried to fill by dedicating himself to applying science for social good. Vikram was busy in the development of science and Mrinalini was busy in art work.

Apart from choreographing more than 300 dance plays, Mrinalini has also written many novels, poems, plays and stories for children. She was the chairperson of Gujarat State Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation Limited. She was one of the trustees of the Sarvodaya International Trust, an organization to promote Gandhian ideals, and was also the chairperson of the Nehru Foundation for Development (NFD). The name of her autobiography is Mrinalini Sarabhai The Voice of the Heart.

Mrinalini Sarabhai was awarded the Padma Shri in 1965 and the national civilian award Padma Bhushan in 1992 by the Government of India. He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Letters, Honoris Causa, by the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK in 1997. She was also the first Indian to receive the medal and diploma of the French Association Archives Internationale de la Danse. Mrinalini received the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy Fellowship in 1988. She was nominated to the Executive Committee of the International Dance Council, Paris in 1990. Was awarded Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship, New Delhi in 1994. He was awarded the Gold Medal of Mexico by the Mexican government for his choreography for the Ballet Folklorico.

Darpan Academy of Performing Arts celebrated its golden jubilee on 28 December 1998 with the announcement of the Mrinalini Sarabhai Award for annual classical excellence in the field of classical dance. Mrinalini Sarabhai the Artist and Her Art, a documentary film based on her life, was released in 2012. It was directed by Yadavan Chandran and produced by the Public Service Broadcasting Trust.

She was the first recipient of the Nishagandhi Award, an annual award of the Government of Kerala. This award was presented in 2013. He was awarded the Dhirubhai Thakar Savyasachi Saraswat Award in 2014.
