34 एट्रस्केन मूल के प्रतिष्ठित रोमन कवि और व्यंग्यकार औलस पर्सियस फ्लैकस का जन्म हुआ। मध्य युग में बहुत लोकप्रिय हुईं, उनकी मृत्यु के बाद उनके मित्र और गुरु, स्टोइक दार्शनिक लुसियस एनायस कॉर्नुटस उन्हें प्रकाशित कराया।

771 ऑस्ट्रेशियाई राजा कार्लोमन प्रथम की मृत्यु और उनका भाई शारलेमेन फ्रैंकिश साम्राज्य का एकमात्र राजा बना।

1920 प्रसिद्ध ब्रिटिश थिएटर कलाकार और फिल्म अभिनेता माइकल बैटेस का जन्म झांसी में हुआ।

1922 विख्यात तमिल पार्श्व गायक घंटासाला वेकटेश्वरराव का जन्म चैटापल्ली, मद्रास में हुआ।

1924 बंबई के गेटवे ऑफ इंडिया का उद्घाटन हुआ था। इसका निर्माण ब्रिटेन के राजा जॉर्ज पंचम और रानी मैरी की भारत यात्रा को यादगार बनाने के लिए किया गया था। उन्होंने यहीं से भारत में प्रवेश किया था। 31 मार्च 1911 को इसे बनाने का काम शुरू हुआ था। 26 मीटर ऊंचे इस गेट को जॉर्ज विटेट ने डिजाइन किया है। 13 साल में गेटवे पूरी तरह बनकर तैयार हुआ।

1952 इंग्लैंड में स्मॉग यानी धुंध की घनी परत के छा जाने के कारण हजारों लोगों की जान चली गई।

1952 दक्षिणी अमरीका में ऐटलांटिक महासागर में स्थित बरमूडा द्वीप के बारे में अमरीका, ब्रिटेन और फ्रांस की तीन पक्षीय कॉन्फ्रेंस आरंभ हुई।

1955 लक्समबर्ग में इंटरनेशनल फेडरेशन ऑफ ब्लड डोनर ऑर्गनाइजेशन की स्थापना की गई।

1963 बाॅलीवुड के जाने माने फिल्म अभिनेता, नर्तक और स्वर कलाकार जावेद जाफरी का मुरादाबाद में जन्म हुआ।

1967 भारत के पहले रॉकेट रोहिणी आरएच 75 का थुम्बा से प्रक्षेपण किया गया।

1971 संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद ने भारत और पाकिस्तान के बीच खराब होते हालात के मद्देनजर आपात सत्र बुलाया। 1971 में इसी दिन भारतीय नौसेना ने पाकिस्तान नौसेना और कराची पर हमला किया। भारतीय नौसेना की स्थापना 1612 में ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी द्वारा की गई थी। 1971 में भारत-पाकिस्तान हुआ. युद्ध के दौरान पाकिस्तान ने 3 दिसंबर को भारतीय हवाई अड्डों पर हमला किया। उनके आक्रामक हमलों के जवाब में, भारतीय नौसेना ने 4 और 5 दिसंबर की रात को हमले की योजना बनाई, क्योंकि पाकिस्तान के पास बमबारी करने के लिए विमान नहीं था। हमले के दौरान सैकड़ों पाकिस्तानी नौसेना के जवान मारे गए। कमोडोर कासरगोड पट्टानशेट्टी गोपाल राव ने भारतीय नौसेना के पूरे अभियान का नेतृत्व किया था। भारतीय नौसेना की सफलता का जश्न मनाने के लिए हर साल इंडिन नेवी डे 4 दिसंबर को मनाया जाता है.

1974 भाजपा नेता और लोक सभा सांसद लोकेट चटर्जी का जन्म दक्षिणेश्वर कलकत्ता में हुआ। हिंदी, तमिल, तेलुगू, अंग्रेजी एवं कन्नड़ आदि विविध भारतीय भाषाओं की जानी मानी, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल अनुपमा कुमार का जन्म कोयंबटूर में हुआ।

1976 पंद्रहवीं लोक सभा के सदस्य, केंद्रीय सूचना एवं प्रसारण राज्य मंत्री रहे भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस के नेता मिलिंद देवड़ा बंबई में जन्म हुआ।

1977 जाने माने भारतीय क्रिकेटर अजीत आगरकर का जन्म बंबई में हुआ। इसी दिन मिस्र के विरुद्ध अरब देशों ने मोर्चा गठित किया।

2015 मिस्र की राजधानी काहिरा के एक रेस्तरां में फेंके गये बम के विस्फोट से 17 लोग मारे गए।

2017 कैलिफोर्निया में सांता पाउला के पास थॉमस फायर में वेंचुरा और सांता बारबरा काउंटियों में 440 वर्ग मील (1,140 किमी 2) का क्षेत्र स्वाहा हो गया। यह आधुनिक कैलिफोर्निया के इतिहास में अब तक की सबसे बड़ी जंगल की आग बन गई। इसी दिन शशि कपूर के नाम से सुपरिचित लोकप्रिय फिल्म अभिनेता बलबीर राज कपूर का निधन हुआ। शशि बंबइया फिल्म अभिनेता और फिल्म निर्माता थे, जो हिंदी फिल्मों में अपने बेहतरीन काम के लिए जाने जाते हैं। चार राष्ट्रीय फिल्म पुरस्कार और दो फिल्मफेयर पुरस्कार सहित अन्य अनेक पुरस्कार, सम्मान उन्हें मिले। उन्होंने कई अंग्रेजी भाषा की अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फिल्मों, विशेष रूप से मर्चेंट आइवरी द्वारा निर्मित फिल्मों में भी अभिनय किया। भारतीय सिनेमा में उनके योगदान के लिए भारत सरकार ने उन्हें 2011 में पद्म भूषण और 2014 में दादा साहब फाल्के पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया।

2021 इंडोनेशिया के जावा द्वीप पर सेमेरू में हुए विस्फोट 68 से अधिक लोग मारे गए।

2022 प्रसिद्ध अमेरिकी गायक और अभिनेता बॉब मैकग्राथ और पैट्रिक टैम्बे, फ्रांसीसी रेस कार ड्राइवर का निधन हुआ।

The Swedish army, numbering approximately 8,000, was led by Field Marshal Simon Grundl-Helmfeldt and the 21-year-old Swedish King Charles XI. It is one of the bloodiest battles in terms of percentage of casualties on both sides ever fought in Scandinavia.

On this day in 1971, the Indian Navy attacked Pakistan Navy and Karachi. The Indian Navy was established in 1612 by the East India Company. India-Pakistan happened in 1971. During the war, Pakistan attacked Indian air bases on 3 December. In response to their aggressive attacks, the Indian Navy planned attacks on the night of 4 and 5 December, as Pakistan did not have aircraft to bomb. Hundreds of Pakistani Navy personnel were killed during the attack. Commodore Kasaragod Pattanshetty Gopal Rao led the entire Indian Navy operation. Indian Navy Day is celebrated every year on 4 December to celebrate the success of the Indian Navy.
