2020 पोप बेनेडिक्ट सोलहवें सबसे लंबे समय तक जीवित रहने वाले पोप बन गए, 93 साल, चार महीने, 16 दिन। उन्होंने पोप लियो तेरहवें को पीछे छोड़ दिया, जिनकी 1903 में मृत्यु हो गई थी, उनका जन्म 1810 में हुआ था। वर्तमान पोप फ्रांसिस (जार्ज मारियो बर्गोग्लियो, जन्म 17 दिवसंबर 1936, फ्लोरेस, ब्यूनस आयरस, अर्जेंटीना) की आयु अभी 86 वर्ष है।

2021 टंच इलकिन, प्रसिद्ध तुर्किस-अमेरिकी फुटबॉल खिलाड़ी का निधन हुआ। इसी दिन 2021 में विलार्ड स्कॉट, प्रसिद्ध अमेरिकी मौसम प्रस्तोता और टेलीविजन व्यक्तित्व का निधन हुआ।

2022 प्रसिद्ध भारतीय-आयरिश व्यवसायी और व्यवसाय प्रबंधक, टाटा ग्रुप के मुखिया रहे, की सड़क दुर्घटना में मृत्यु हुई। इसी दिन 2022 में प्रसिद्ध अमेरिकी उपन्यासकार पीटर स्ट्राब का निधन हुआ।

2022 माइल्स सैंडर्सन ने जेम्स स्मिथ क्री नेशन और वेल्डन, सस्केचेवान, कनाडा में 13 स्थानों पर लोगों पर अंधाधुं चाकूबाजी कर प्राणघातक हमले किए जिससे 15 लोग मारे गये, और 15 घायल हो गये। जाता है कि कुछ मृतकों को निशाना बनाया गया था। अन्य पर बेतरतीब ढंग से हमला किया गया था।, यह कनाडा के इतिहास के सबसे घातक नरसंहारों में से एक है, जो एक व्यक्ति द्वारा अंजाम दिया गया।

2022 इलाहाबाद यानी प्रयागराज के एक अस्पताल में सफाई कर्मचारी धीरज की 4 सितंबर की सुबह ट्यूबरक्लोसिस से मौत हो गई। पैसे से इतना मोह कि लाखों रुपये अपने होने पर भी उसने दरिद्रों, भिखारियों जैसा जीवन जिया। धीरज के परिवार में उनकी 80 वर्षीय मां हैं। जानकारी के मुताबिक धीरज के पिता भी उसी अस्पताल में सफाई कर्मचारी थे और उनकी मृत्यु के बाद धीरज को नौकरी मिल गई थी। कुछ मानसिक कारणों से, पिता और पुत्र दोनों ने कभी भी अपने वेतन खाते से एक भी पैसा नहीं निकाला था। मृतक के एक दोस्त ने बताया कि धीरज ने कभी भी अपने खाते से पैसे नहीं निकाले। वह और उनकी मां पिता की पेंशन पर जीवित रहे और अगर उन्हें पैसे की जरूरत होती, तो वह दोस्तों, सहकर्मियों और यहां तक कि बाहरी लोगों से भी मांगते थे। उनके खाते में 70 लाख रुपये से अधिक जमा हैं। बताया जाता है कि कुछ महीने पहले, कुछ बैंक कार्मिक धीरज से पैसे के बारे में पूछताछ करने आए और धीरज ने अपने स्पष्टीकरण से उन्हें संतुष्ट किया। धीरज के दोस्त ने कि उसने शादी नहीं की, क्योंकि उसे डर था कि जिस महिला से वह विवाह करेगा वह उसके पैसे लेकर भाग जाएगी। वह हर साल आयकर रिटर्न भी दाखिल करता था।

2022 लगभग दो सौ मामलों में सात साल से अधिक समय से फरार चल रहे भारत के बड़े वाहन चोर अनिल चौहान को दिल्ली पुलिस ने गिरफ्तार किया है। अनिल को भारत का सबसे बड़ा कार चोर बताया जाता है। तीन शादियां की हैं। अनिल को उसके 27 साल के आपराधिक इतिहास में दो बार गिरफ्तार किया गया था। बताया जाता है कि अनिल करीब 6,000 वाहन चोरी मामलों में शामिल था, लेकिन पुलिस रिकॉर्ड के अनुसार, अनिल के खिलाफ अब तक 200 मामले ही दर्ज हैं। मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स के अनुसार एक वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधिकारी ने बताया कि अनिल चौहान दो दशकों से कारों की चोरी कर रहा था। अधिकारी के अनुसार चौहान कारों की चोरी करता था और असम और पूर्वोत्तर भारत में बेच देता था। पुलिस ने उसे पकड़ने का बहुत प्रयास किया। लेकिन अनिल कई मौकों पर पुलिस को चकमा देकर साफ बच निकला। जब दिल्ली पुलिस ने उसके खिलाफ सख्ती से कार्रवाई करनी शुरू की, तो वह असम भाग गया। वहां उसने गैंडे के सींगों की तस्करी शुरू कर दी। पुलिस अधिकारी ने बताया कि आरोपी ने काफी संपत्ति अर्जित की थी, जिसे प्रवर्तन निदेशालय ने जब्त कर लिया है।
