1810 एम्सटर्डम पर फ्रांसिसी सेनाओं ने कब्जा कर लिया।

1819 अमेरिका ने पहला बचत बैंक न्यूयॉर्क में बैंक ऑफ सेविंग इन न्यूयॉर्क शुरू किया।

1827 न्यूयार्क राज्य ने दास रखने, खरीद-फरोख्त इत्यादि को खत्म किया।

1829 जॉर्ज शिलबियर द्वारा लंदन में पहली बस सेवा का संचालन शुरू किया गया।

1848 फ्रांस के विश्व विख्यात कवि फ्रांसवा शाटोब्रेयां का निधन हुआ।

1855 विख्यात कवि वॉल्ट व्हिटमैन का कविता संग्रह ब्रुकलिन से प्रकाशित हुआ।

1857 प्रसिद्ध भारतीय स्वतंत्रता सेनानी धन सिंह गुर्जर का निधन हुआ

1865 बच्चों के मनोरंजन से संबंधित लुईस कैरोल के मशहूर हुए अंग्रेजी उपन्यास एलिस इन वंडरलैड का प्रकाशन हुआ।

1881 दार्जिलिंग और सिलिगुड़ी में टॉय ट्रेन चलाई गई।

1884 अमेरिकी स्टॉक एक्सचेंज दाउ जोंस ने अपना पहला स्टॉक इंडेक्स प्रकाशित किया।

1886 कनाडा की पहली अंतरमहाद्वीपीय ट्रेन ब्रिटिश कोलंबिया के पोर्ट मूडी पहुंची।

1897 आंध्र प्रदेश के प्रसिद्ध स्वतंत्रता सेनानी और सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता अल्लूरी सीताराम राजू का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन पंजाबी भाषा के प्रसिद्ध लेखक, कवि, गीतकार नानक सिंह का जन्म चक हमीद, पाकिस्तान में हुआ।

1898 कई बार भारत के कार्यवाहक प्रधानमंत्री रहे गुलजारीलाल नन्दा का जन्म हुआ।

1902 संत रामकृष्ण परमहंस के शिष्य विवेकानंद का निधन हुआ।

1912 भारत के संविधान को बनाने में सहयोग देने वाली महिलाओं में से एक दक्षिणानी वेलायुधन का जन्म हुआ।

1916 शुरुआती बंबई हिंदी फिल्मों की लोकप्रिय, सफलतम अभिनेत्री नसीम बानो का जन्म हुआ। बेहद सफल और लोकप्रिय अभिनेत्री सायरा बानो इन्हीं की बेटी हैं।

1924 नेपाल के प्रमुख राजनीतिज्ञ और प्रधानमंत्री हुए गिरिजा प्रसाद कोइराला का जन्म सहरसा, बिहार में हुआ। 

1933 भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ राजनीतिज्ञ के. रोसैया का जन्म हुआ।

1934 लियो जिलार्ड ने परमाणु बम के चेन रिएक्शन का पेटेंट कराया।

1943 भाषाविज्ञान, कोश निर्माण, पाठालोचन, अनुवाद और सांस्कृतिक अध्ययन के क्षेत्र में विशिष्ट योगदान करने वाले भारतीय विद्वान विमलेश कांति वर्मा का जन्म हुआ।

1945 हिंदी फिल्मों के चरित्र अभिनेता सुशील कुमार का जन्म हुआ।

1946 अमेरिका ने फिलीपीन को स्वतंत्रता दी और इसी दिन तुर्की की राजधानी अंकारा में अंकारा विश्वविद्यालय की स्थापना की गई।

1959 जानी मानी फिल्म और टेलीविजन अभिनेत्री तथा निर्देशक नीना गुप्ता का जन्म हुआ।

1963 भारतीय राष्ट्रीय ध्वज तिरंगे को डिजाइन करने वाले स्वतंत्रता सेनानी पिंगली वेंकैया का निधन हुआ।

1968 वियतनाम से युद्ध लड़ने में मारे गए अमेरिकी सैनिकों के आंकड़े जारी होने के बाद अमेरिकी सरकार पर युद्ध बंद करने का दवाब बढ़ा। इसी दिन विख्यात कारोबारी हुए साइरस मिस्त्री का जन्म बंबई में हुआ। वे आयरलैंड के बड़े व्यवसायी और भारत में टाटा समूह के छठे अध्यक्ष हुए। रतन टाटा ने अक्टूबर 2016 में पद से हटा दिया। 4 सितंबर 2022 को सड़क दुर्घटना में इनकी मौत हो गई।

1969 विख्यात हिंदी फिल्म अभिनेत्री माला सिन्हा की बेटी जानी मानी, खूबसूरत, बोल्ड बाॅलीवुड फिल्म अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल प्रतिभा सिन्हा का जन्म कलकत्ता में हुआ।

1978 भारतीय संविधान के निर्माण में सहयोग देने वाली महिलाओं में से एकअम्मू स्वामीनाथन का निधन हुआ।

1982 बॉलीवुड, हिंदी फिल्मों के प्रसिद्ध गीतकार भरत व्यास का निधन हुआ।

2022 जर्मन फुटबॉल कप रू बायर्न म्यूनिख ने बायर लीवरकुसेन को 4-2 से हराकर सबसे ज्यादा 20वीं बार खिताब जीता।
