1190 तृतीय धर्मयुद्ध के बीच रोमन सम्राट फेडरिक बार्बेरोजा की मौत हुई।

1246 नसीरुद्दीन मुहम्मद शाह दिल्ली का बादशाह बना।

1553 मात्र 15 साल की उम्र में लेडी जेन ग्रे इंग्लैंड की रानी बनीं। हालांकि वे केवल 9 दिन तक ही इस पद रहीं इसलिए उन्हें 9 दिन की रानी के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। क्योंकि यह 9 दिन ही रानी रह सकीं।

1624 हॉलैंड और फ्रांस के बीच स्पेन विरोधी संधि पर हस्ताक्षर किये गये।

1652 इंग्लैंड ने नीदरलैंड के खिलाफ युद्ध की घोषणा की।

1800 ब्रिटिश गवर्नर-जनरल लॉर्ड वेलेस्ली ने कलकत्ता में फोर्ट विलियम कॉलेज की स्थापना कराई। बंगाली, हिंदी और भारतीय उपमहाद्वीप की अन्य स्थानीय भाषाओं की पढ़ाई के निमित्त इसे स्थापित किया गया।

1806 वेल्लूर में भारतीय सिपाहियों ने अंग्रेजों के खिलाफ पहला विद्रोह किया था। वेल्लोर के किले में भारतीय सैनिकों ने करीब 200 अंग्रेज सैनिकों पर हमला किया। किले को अंग्रेजों से मुक्त कराकर टीपू सुल्तान के बेटे को वहां का राजा घोषित कर दिया। इस प्रकरण को वेल्लूर विद्रोह का नाम दिया गया। इस सैनिक विद्रोह की वजह अंग्रेजों का नया ड्रेस कोड था। कोड में हिन्दू सैनिकों को तिलक न लगाने और मुस्लिम सैनिकों को दाढ़ी न रखने का हुक्म दिया गया था। इसके साथ सैनिकों को एक कलगी लगी हैट भी पहनने का हुक्म दिया गया। भारतीय सैनिकों ने अंग्रेजों के इस हुक्म का विरोध किया, किंतु अंग्रेजों ने विरोध करने वाले सैनिकों पर कोड़े बरसाए और उन्हें सेना से बर्खास्त कर दिया। अंग्रेजों के इस कार्रवाई से सिपाहियों का गुस्सा बढ़ गया। 9 जुलाई 1806 को टीपू सुल्तान की एक बेटी की शादी वेल्लोर के किले में ही थी। 4 मई 1799 को टीपू सुल्तान का निधन हो गया था और उनका परिवार उस समय ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी के रहमो-करम पर गुजर-बसर कर रहा था। अंग्रेजों ने टीपू सुल्तान के परिवार को वेल्लोर किले का एक हिस्सा रहने के लिए दे रखा था। इस शादी में विद्रोही सैनिक भी इकट्ठे हुए और फैसला लिया कि किले को अंग्रेजों से मुक्त कराया जाएगा। विवाह संपन्न होने के बाद भारतीय सैनिक अपनी योजना को अंजाम देने में लग गए। सिपाहियों ने अपने अंग्रेज अधिकारियों को सबसे पहले निशाना बनाया। इसके साथ ही पूरे किले में सिपाही फैल गए और एक-एक कर सभी अंग्रेजों को मारा जाने लगा। किले के सेनापति जॉन फैनकोर्ट भी मारा गया और सुबह होते-होते किला भारतीय सैनिकों के कब्जे में आ गया। किले पर मैसूर सल्तनत का झंडा फहरा दिया गया और टीपू सुल्तान के बेटे को राजा घोषित कर दिया गया। वेल्लूर से लगभग 25 किलोमीटर आरकोट में ब्रिटिश सेना के कैंप को ये खबर पहुंची तो अंग्रेजों ने तुरंत गोला-बारूद के साथ सैनिकों का बड़ा जत्था वेल्लूर किले पर आक्रमण के लिए भेज दिया। ब्रिटिश सेना किले में घुसी और भारतीय सैनिकों का नरसंहार करने लगी। जो दिखा उसे गोली से उड़ा दिया गया। थोड़ी ही देर में सैकड़ों भारतीय सैनिक शहीद हो गए और फिर से अंग्रेजों का किले पर कब्जा हो गया।

1832 अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति एंडू जैक्सन ने दूसरे बैंक को पुनः अधिकार दिए जाने के लिए अपने वीटो अधिकार को इस्तेमाल किया।

1848 अमेरिका के न्यूयॉर्क और शिकागो नगरों के बीच पहला टेलीग्राफ संपर्क शुरू हुआ।

1851 अमेरिका के कैलिफोर्निया के सांता क्लारा में कैलिफोर्निया वेस्लेयन कॉलेज के रूप में विश्वविद्यालय स्थापित किया।

1856 वाई-फाई के जन्मदाता माने गये अमेरिकी सरर्बियाई आविष्कारक निकोला टेस्ला का जन्म हुआ।

1884 इंग्लैंड के ओल्ड ट्रेफर्ड में खेले जा रहे प्रथम क्रिकेट टेस्ट मैच का पहला दिन बारिश के कारण रद्द हुआ।

1888 प्रसिद्ध क्रांतिकारी और संत हंसराज के पुत्र बलराज भल्ला का जन्म हुआ।

1890 भारत के प्रसिद्ध स्वतंत्रता सेनानी एवं असम के प्रथम मुख्यमंत्री हुए गोपीनाथ बोरदोलोई का जन्म हुआ।

1906 भारत के प्रमुख स्वतन्त्रता सेनानियों में से एक दामोदर मेनन का जन्म हुआ।

1907 फ्रांस और जापान के बीच चीन की स्वतंत्रता और अखंडता को बरकरार रखने के लिए समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किये गये।

1913 यूरोपीय देश रोमानिया ने बुल्गारिया के खिलाफ युद्ध की घोषणा की।

1921 प्रसिद्ध कवि शिवदीन राम जोशी का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन मशहूर गीतकार और शायर असद भोपाली का जन्म हुआ।

1924 डेनमार्क ने ग्रीनलैंड पर कब्जा किया।

1925 सोवियत संघ की आधिकारिक समाचार एजेंसी टीएएसएस तास शुरु हुई।

1927 सर गंगा राम का निधन हुआ। वे प्रसिद्ध इंजीनियर, समाजसेवी और भारत में हरित क्रांति के नायक थे।

1931 पहली महिला विमान चालक बायन होजन ने संसार का चक्कर लगाने के लिए उड़ान आरंभ की। इसी दिन भारत के प्रसिद्ध वायलिन वादक एम. एस. गोपालकृष्णन का जन्म हुआ था और नार्वे ने 1931 में 10 जुलाई को पूर्वी ग्रीनलैंड पर कब्जा किया।

1934 सोवियत संघ और रोमानिया के बीच राजनयिक संबंध दोबारा स्थापित हुए और इसी दिन प्रसिद्ध भारतीय समाज सेवी रजनीकांत अरोल का जन्म हुआ।

1936 फ्रांस में सोशियल पार्टी की स्थापना हुई।

1938 हावर्ड ह्यूज ने 91 घंटे विमान उड़ाने का रिकॉर्ड बनाया।

1940 इटली ने द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के दौरान फ्रांस और ब्रिटेन के खिलाफ लड़ाई की घोषणा की। इसी दिन नार्वे ने 1940 में इसी दिन तानाशाह हिटलर नाजी सेना के समक्ष आत्मसमर्पण किया। कनाडा ने इसी दिन इटली के खिलाफ लड़ाई की घोषणा की।

1943 अमेरिकी, ब्रिटिश और कनाडाई सेना ने दूसरे विश्व युद्ध के दौरान सिसली द्वीप पर हमला किया।

1944 द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के दौरान जर्मन सेना ने यूनान के 218 लोगों की हत्या की।

1946 राजशाही समाप्त होने के पश्चात इटली गणतांत्रिक राष्ट्र बना।

1947 चीन के कैंटोन क्षेत्र में नदी में रेलगाडी गिरने से 200 लोगों की मौत हुई।

1949 भारत के विख्यात क्रिकेटर बल्लेबाज सुनील गावस्कर का मुंबई में जन्म हुआ। उनके नाम 125 टेस्ट में 34 शतकों के साथ 10122 रन हैं। 108 वनडे में उन्होंने 3092 रन बनाए।

1950 पद्मभूषण सम्मान और संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार प्राप्त प्रसिद्ध भारतीय शास्त्रीय गायिका परवीन सुल्ताना का जन्म हुआ।

1951 प्रसिद्ध राजनीतिज्ञ, जनता पार्टी के अध्यक्ष और उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री रहे वर्तमान केंद्रीय रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह का जन्म हुआ।

1955 सुप्रसिद्ध भूतपूर्व बैडमिंटन खिलाड़ी प्रकाश पादुकोण का जन्म हुआ।

1956 ब्रिटिश हाउस ऑफ लॉर्ड्स ने मौत की सजा समाप्त की। इसी दिन प्रसिद्ध भारतीय फिल्म चरित्र अभिनेता आलोक नाथ का जन्म हुआ।

1957 आधुनिक पंजाबी काव्य और गद्य के प्रसिद्ध कवि भाई वीर सिंह का निधन हुआ।

1958 प्रसिद्ध लेखक एवं सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता अनूप सेठी का जन्म हुआ था।

1962 टेलस्टार को अंतरिक्ष की कक्षा में लॉन्च किया गया था। यह दुनिया का पहला संचार उपग्रह था। इसे अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नासा ने लॉन्च किया। इसे थोर-डेल्टा रॉकेट की मदद से लॉन्च किया गया। इसने उपग्रह टेलीविजन प्रसारण में बहुत मदद की।

1965 मध्य प्रदेश के ग्वालियर में महिलाओं के पहले एनसीसी कॉलेज की शुरुआत हुई।

1966 प्रख्यात अमेरिकी अश्वेत मानवाधिकारवादी मार्टिन लूथर किंग जूनियर ने शिकागो स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन के समर्थन में एक रैली का नेतृत्व किया, जो उत्तरी अमेरिका के सबसे महत्वाकांक्षी नागरिक अधिकारों के अभियानों में से एक है। इसी दिन भारतीय वायु सेना के लड़ाकू विमान मिग का 1966 में महाराष्ट्र के नासिक जिले से निर्माण शुरू।

1967 उरुग्वे बर्न कॉपीराइट सम्मेलन संधि का सदस्य बना। इस संधि में कॉपीराइट का अधिकार असली मालिक या आविष्कारकों द्वारा सुरक्षित किया जाता है जो अनधिकृत नकल को अपराध मानते हैं। इसी दिन इजरायल ने छह दिन से चल रहे अरब युद्ध पर संयुक्त राष्ट्र की ओर से प्रस्तावित युद्ध विराम मानते हुए लड़ाई का अंत किया। इसी दिन दशमलव मुद्रा को न्यूजीलैंड द्वारा अपनाया गया। दशमलव मुद्रा भी एक प्रकार की मुद्रा है जिसमें उप इकाइयाँ होती हैं। कई देशों की दशमलव मुद्राएँ हैं जैसे अरब, दक्षिण एशियाई आदि।

1971 भोजपुरी के विख्यात लोक कलाकार भिखारी ठाकुर का निधन हुआ।

1972 बंबई के मडगाँव बंदरगाह से पूर्ण वातानुकुलित पोत हर्षवर्धन का जलावतरण हुआ।

1973 प्रसिद्ध हिंदी फिल्मीे गीत गायक रूपकुमार राठौर का जन्म हुआ।

1978 दक्षिण भारतीय फिल्मों के प्रसिद्ध संगीतकार, वायलिनवादक, संगीत रिकाॅर्ड निर्माता बालाभास्कर का जन्म हुआ।

1981 प्रसिद्ध भारतीय धावक देवेंद्र झाझरिया का जन्म हुआ।

1986 जानी मानी फिल्म और टेलीविजन अभिनेत्री, कंटेंट क्रिएटर, गायिका और निर्मात्री मानसी पारेख का जन्म अहमदाबाद में हुआ। इसी दिन भारत ने इंग्लैंड को 5 विकेट से हराकर पहली बार लॉर्ड्स में टेस्ट मैच जीता।

1987 हिंदी फिल्मों के प्रसिद्ध चरित्र अभिनेता जीवन का निधन हुआ था। जीवन कई धार्मिक फिल्मों में नारद की भूमिका में नजर आए। इसी दिन जानी मानी गायिका, इंडियन आइडल 2006 विजेता अंतरा मित्रा का जन्म हुआ।

1988 खूबसूरत, बोल्ड फिल्म अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल मंजरी फडनीस का जन्म मुंबई में हुआ।

1994 नेपाल के प्रधानमंत्री गिरिजा प्रसाद कोइराला ने इस्तीफा दिया।

1995 म्यामांर की लोकतंत्र समर्थक असंतुष्ट एवं नजरबंद नेत्री आंग सान स्यूकी लगभग 6 वर्षों के बाद नजरबंदी से मुक्त की गयीं। आजकल वे फिर से जेल की सजा काट रही हैं।

1997 वाटरलू, ओन्टारियो, कनाडा के टाउन कैरियर स्कॉट फ्रेजर ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय टाउन कैरियर दिवस का आयोजन 1997 में जुलाई के दूसरे सोमवार को किया। टाउन कैरियर स्कॉट फ्रेजर ने महसूस किया कि टाउन कैरियर की समाज और शासन व्यवस्था में बड़ी भूमिका है और टाउन कैरियर को काफी कम महत्व दिया गया है। जब सूचनाओं के प्रसार के लिए साधन कम थे तब सरकारी सूचनाओं को जनता तक पहुंचाने और जनता की राय सरकार तक पहुंचाने और अन्य जरूरी सूचनाओं के प्रसार में टाउन कैरियर ने एतिहासिक रूप से महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। 1997 में इसी दिन फिजी में नये संविधान की मंजूरी के साथ भारतीय समुदाय को राजनीतिक अधिकार मिला।

1998 लोकप्रिय मलयालम टेलीविजन एवं फिल्म अभिनेत्री और माॅडल जुही रुस्तगी का जन्म हुआ।

1999 इंडोनेशिया के स्वतंत्रता समर्थक नेता जोस रामोस होर्ता ने 23 वर्ष के निर्वासन के बाद स्वदेश लौटने की घोषणा की। 1999 में इसी दिन जेनेवा में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय श्रम सम्मेलन की शुरुआत हुई।

2001 नेपाल नरेश हत्याकांड की जांच की अवधि चार दिन बढ़ाई गई। 2001 में इसी दिन सिल्वियो बरलुस्कोनी इटली के प्रधानमंत्री नियुक्त हुए। इसी दिन 2001 में श्रीलंका की संसद को राष्ट्रपति चंद्रिका कुमारतुंग ने निलंबित किया।

2002 संयुक्त राष्ट्र विश्व खाद्य सम्मेलन इटली की राजधानी रोम में सम्पन्न हुआ, इसी दिन 2002 में पाकिस्तान ने विश्व की दूसरी सबसे ऊँची चोटी के-2 का नाम बदलकर चोगोरी और शाहगोरी कर दिया।

2005 भारत और श्रीलंका के बीच शिक्षा व सामुदायिक विकास विषयक दो समझौते हस्ताक्षरित किये गये। इसी दिन अर्जेन्टीना जूनियर विश्वकप हॉकी का नया चैम्पियन बना। रूस के विद्रोही नेता बसायेव की हत्या इसी दिन हुई। इसी दिन इनसैट-4सी भारत का भू-तुल्यकाली उपग्रह प्रमोचक रॉकेट (जीएसएलवी-एफ02), ऑन बोर्ड इन्सैट-4सी सहित, सतीश धवन अंतरिक्ष केंद्र श्रीहरिकोटा से प्रक्षेपित किया गया था।

2006 अमेरिका की लॉस एंजिल्स काउंटी के पर्यवेक्षक माइकल डी. एंटोनोविच ने वैश्विक ऊर्जा स्वतंत्रता दिवस का आयोजन किया। इसका उद्देश्य लोगों को यह बताना है कि वैकल्पिक ईंधन का उपयोग करना कितना महत्वपूर्ण है। अब हम जीवाश्म ईंधन पर निर्भर हैं, जिसे बदला जाना चाहिए। जीवाश्म ईंधन जैसे पेट्रोल, डीजल और गैस आदि बनने के बाद खत्म हो जाते हैं। यह ईंधन पर्यावरण क्षरण में बहुत योगदान देते हैं। जीवाश्म ईंधन के विकल्प के रूप में नवीकरणीय, कम प्रदूषणकारी ऊर्जा स्रोतों की आवश्यकता पर प्रकाश डाला जाता है। इसी दिन  पाकिस्तान के मुल्तान में हुई विमान दुर्घटना में 45 लोगों की मौत हुई।

2007 पाकिस्तान के इस्लामाबाद में कट्टरपंथियों के गढ़ लाल मस्जिद के नायब इमाम मौलाना अब्दुल रशीद गाजी सेना के हमले में मारे गये।

2008 विख्यात और विवादास्पद भारतीय मूल के ब्रिटिश लेखक सलमान रुश्दी को बेस्ट आफ बुकर पुरस्कार दिया गया। इसी दिन भारत सरकार ने तीनों सेनाओं के लिए एक एकीकृत स्पेस सेल की घोषणा की। इसी दिन 54वें राष्ट्रीय फिल्म पुरस्कार में लगे रहो मुन्नाभाई को सर्वश्रेष्ठ लोकप्रिय फिल्म का पुरस्कार प्रदान किया गया।

2011 ब्रिटिश टैब्लॉइड अखबार न्यूज ऑफ द वर्ल्ड ने इन आरोपों के कारण बंद होने से पहले अपना अंतिम संस्करण प्रकाशित किया कि इसने हत्या की गई स्कूली लड़की मिल्ली डाउलर के वॉयस मेल, 7/7ं जंबो के पीड़ितों और मृत ब्रिटिश सैनिकों के रिश्तेदारों को हैक कर लिया।

2013 चीन के सिचुआन प्रांत में भूस्खलन से 40 लोग मरे।

2014 गुजरे जमाने की प्रसिद्ध फिल्म अभिनेत्री एवं रंगमंच कलाकार जोहरा सहगल का निधन हुआ।

2015 बंगलादेश के मैमनसिंह जिले में मुफ्त में बांटे जा रहे कपड़े लेने के दौरान मची भगदड़ में 23 लोगों की मौत हो गयी।

2017 अमरनाथ यात्रा पर हमला हुआ जिसमें 7 श्रद्धालुओं की मृत्यु हुई।

2019 जर्मनी की कार निर्माता कंपनी वॉक्सवैगन ने अपने 81 साल पुराने पहले कार मॉडल बीटल का उत्पादन बंद करने की घोषणा की।

1190 Roman Emperor Federico Barbarossa dies in the midst of the Third Crusade.

1246 Nasiruddin Muhammad Shah became the emperor of Delhi.

In 1553, at the age of 15, Lady Jane Gray became the Queen of England. Although she remained in this position only for 9 days, hence she is also known as 9 Din Ki Rani. Because she could remain queen only for 9 days.

1624 Anti-Spanish treaty was signed between Holland and France.

1652 England declared war on the Netherlands.

1800 British Governor-General Lord Wellesley established the Fort William College in Calcutta. It was established for the education of Bengali, Hindi and other local languages of the Indian subcontinent.

In 1806, Indian sepoys revolted against the British in Vellore for the first time. Indian soldiers attacked about 200 British soldiers in the fort of Vellore. After freeing the fort from the British, Tipu Sultan's son was declared the king there. This episode was named as Vellore rebellion. The reason for this military revolt was the new dress code of the British. The code ordered Hindu soldiers not to apply tilak and Muslim soldiers not to keep beard. Along with this, the soldiers were also ordered to wear a crested hat. The Indian soldiers opposed this order of the British, but the British flogged the protesting soldiers and dismissed them from the army. The anger of the soldiers increased due to this action of the British. On 9 July 1806, a daughter of Tipu Sultan was married in Vellore Fort itself. Tipu Sultan died on 4 May 1799 and his family was living on the mercy of the East India Company at that time. The British had given Tipu Sultan's family a part of the Vellore Fort to live in. Rebel soldiers also gathered in this marriage and decided that the fort would be freed from the British. After the marriage was over, the Indian soldiers started executing their plan. The soldiers first targeted their British officers. With this, soldiers spread throughout the fort and one by one all the Britishers started being killed. John Fancourt, the commander of the fort, was also killed and by morning the fort came under the control of the Indian soldiers. The flag of the Sultanate of Mysore was hoisted on the fort and Tipu Sultan's son was declared the king. When this news reached the British army camp in Arcot, about 25 km from Vellore, the British immediately sent a large batch of soldiers with ammunition to attack Vellore Fort. The British army entered the fort and started massacring the Indian soldiers. What was shown was shot away. Hundreds of Indian soldiers were martyred in a short while and again the British captured the fort.
