313 द एडिक्ट ऑफ मिलान रोमन साम्राज्य में इसाइयों के साथ सामान्य व्यवहार करने के लिए कांस्टेंटाइन द ग्रेटैंड लाइसिनियस के बीच समझौता हुआ।

1290 खिलजी सल्तनत के संस्थापक जलालुद्दीन फिरोजशाह खिलजी दिल्ली तख्त पर काबिज हुए इसके साथ ही गुलाम वंश के शासन का अंत और खिलजी सल्तनत का प्रारंभ हुआ। अफगानिस्तान से दिल्ली तक खिलजी कबीले ने 1320 तक शासन किया।

1325 इब्न बतूता ने सउदी अरब के मक्का के लिए अपनी पहली यात्रा शुरू की। इब्न बतूता अरब यात्री, विद्धान् तथा लेखक हुए। उत्तर अफ्रीका के मोरक्को प्रदेश के प्रसिद्ध नगर तांजियर में 24 फरवरी 1304 को इनका जन्म हुआ था। इनका पूरा नाम था मुहम्मद बिन अब्दुल्ला इब्न बत्तूता। इब्न बतूता मुसलमान यात्रियों में सबसे अधिक यात्रा करने वाले हुए।। अंदाजन इन्होंने लगभग 75000 मील की यात्रा की थी। इतना लंबा भ्रमण उस युग के शायद ही किसी अन्य यात्री ने किया हो। अपनी यात्रा के दौरान बतूता भारत भी आए और यहां की तमाम बातों का उन्होंने अपने संस्मरणों में जिक्र किया है।

1373 इंग्लैंड और पुर्तगाल के बीच एंग्लो-पुर्तगाली गठबंधन हुआ यह गठबंधन लगातार बना रहा। इसके तहत दोनों देशों ने एक दूसरे की लगातार भरपूर मदद की।

1525 पुजारियों के लिए रोमन कैथोलिक चर्च द्वारा निर्धारित ब्रह्मचर्य अनुशासन को खारिज करते हुए मार्टिन लूथर ने कैटरीना वॉन बोरा से विवाह किया।

1707 फेरेंस रकोक्जी द्वितीय ने हंगरी को स्वतंत्र घोषित किया।

1731 स्वीडिश ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी की स्थापना हुई।

1757 बंगाल, बिहार और उड़ीसा के नवाब सिराजुद्दौला से युद्ध के लिए ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी के रॉबर्ट क्लाइव ने 1000 यूरोपीय और 2000 भारतीय सैनिकों आठ तोपों सहित मुर्शिदाबाद की प्रस्थान किया। 

1886 कनाडा के वैंकूवर शहर में आग लगने से करीब एक हजार इमारतें जलकर नष्ट हुईं। इसी दिन बावेरिया के राजा लुडविग द्वितीय को रहस्यमय परिस्थितियों में स्टारनबर्ग लेकमुनिच के पास मृत पाया गया।

1888 अमेरिकी कांग्रेस ने श्रम विभाग का गठन किया।

1905 ब्रिटेन शासित भारत में क्रिकेटर हुए कुमार श्री दुलीपसिंहजी का जन्म नवानगर स्टेट में हुआ। यह राजघराने के राजकुमार हुए।

1909 केरल के पालाघाट में ईएमएस नंबूदरिपाद का जन्म हुआ। वे भारत के शीर्षतम वामपंथी नेता, चिंतक हुए और केरल के लंबे समय तक मुख्यमंत्री भी रहे।

1920 संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के डाक विभाग ने नियम लागू किया कि बच्चों के पार्सल डाक के माध्यम से नहीं भेजे जाएंगे।

1922 सामंती जमींदारों, दबंगों और ब्रिटिश शासन का विरोध करने वाले क्रांतिकारी नानक भील भारतीय-अंग्रेजी पुलिस की गोलियों से छलनी कर दिए गये। 1922 की 13 जून को राजस्थान के बूंदी जिले डाबी तालाब तत्कालीन दीवान मदन मोहन, नाजिम धन्नालाल और अन्य सामंती जमींदारों, जागीरदारों, दबंगों और अंग्रेज ब्रिटिश-भारतीय सरकारी कारकूनों के जुल्म के खिलाफ भेंट, बेगार, चराई कर जैसे कई टैक्सों की समाप्ति मांग करते हुए आयोजित विशाल जनसभा में झंडा गीत गाकर नानक भील जनता को जागृत कर रहे थे। परेशान, हल्कान लोग अपनी व्यथा बताते हुए इन्साफ की मांग कर रहे थे। ब्रिटिश सरकार व स्थानीय शक्तिशाली लोगों के खिलाफ नारेबाजी करते हुए देशी-विदेशी गुलामी, शोषण, उत्पीड़न से मुक्ति के लिए आवाज बुलंद कर रहे थे। यहां ब्रिटिश-भारतीय पुलिस ने जनसभा पर गोली चला दी, जिससे अनेक लोग जान बचाने इधर-उधर भागे, नानक भील झंडा हाथ में उठाए क्रांतिकारी गीत गाते। पुलिस ने नानक भील के सीने पर 3 गोलियां मारीं। नानक भील के सीने पर तीन गोलियां लगी। गुलामी, शोषण, उत्पीड़न, भेदभाव के खिलाफ अपनी जान कुर्बान कर देने वाले नानक भील घर-घर से भेंट किये गए नारियलों से नानक भील का दाह संस्कार किया।

1923 हिंदी फिल्मों के प्रख्यात कवि, गीतकार, अभिनेता, नृत्य एवं संगीत निर्देशक प्रेम धवन का जन्म अंबाला में हुआ। इसी दिन चीन के राष्ट्रपति ली को अपना घर छोड़ देना पड़ा क्योंकि उनके विरोधी पक्ष के सरदार ने अपनी बड़ी फौज के साथ ली का घर घेर लिया, पद और घर छोड़ने के लिए मजबूर किया, ली के घर के पानी और बिजली आदि की आपूर्ति बाधित कर दी।

1932 ब्रिटेन ने 72 वर्षों तक स्वेज नहर का नियंत्रण अपने कब्जे में रखने के बाद उसे मिस्र को सौंप दिया।

1937 विख्यात भारतीय - अमेरिकी वैज्ञानिक, अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति के तकनीकी सलाहकारों में शामिल, आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलीजेंसी के विशेषज्ञ डब्बाला राजागोपाल राज रेड्डी का जन्म चित्तूर में हुआ।

1943 नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस जर्मनी से जापान पहुंचे।

1944 संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ के आठवें महासचिव हुए बान की मून का जन्म दक्षिण कोरिया के हाएंग्ची में हुआ।

1955 सोवियत संघ में पहली हीरा खदान मीर माइन डायमंड-बेयरिंग जमा की खोज सोवियत भूवैज्ञानिकों यूरी खाबार्डिन, एकातेरिना एलागिना और विक्टर एवेदेंको ने याकुत एएसएसआर में बड़े अमैकिंस्की अभियान के दौरान की थी। उन्हें ज्वालामुखीय रॉक किंबरलाइट के निशान मिले, जो आमतौर पर हीरों से जुड़ा होता है।

1956 अंतर्राष्ट्रीय आपराधिक पुलिस संगठन (आईसीपीओ) को गठन किया गया।

1965 भारत के जाने माने फिल्म आलोचक, फिल्म कारोबार के समीक्षक, पत्रकार तरन आदर्श का जन्म जोधपुर, राजस्थान में हुआ। इसी दिन पुणे में जाने माने भारतीय क्रिकेटर मनिंदर सिंह का जन्म हुआ।

1971 प्रख्यात अमेरिकी अखबार न्यूयॉर्क टाइम्स ने पेंटागन पेपर्स को पहली बार प्रकाशित किया। इसकी रिपोर्टिंग पत्रकार डैनियल एल्सबर्ग ने की थी। आगे चलकर इन पेपर्स ने अमेरिका की राजनीति में भूचाल ला दिया। इन पेपर्स में वियतनाम युद्ध में अमेरिका की अमानवीय भूमिका को लेकर कई खुलासे किये गये। अमेरिकी प्रशासन ने राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा का हवाला देते हुए कोर्ट से मांग की कि सेना के मामलों से जुड़ी बेहद गोपनीय जानकारी अखबारों में प्रकाशित करने पर रोक लगाई जाए। कोर्ट ने पेंटागन पेपर्स छापने पर रोक लगा दी। इसके बाद डैनियल एल्सबर्ग ने ये जानकारी द वॉशिंगटन पोस्ट को दे दी और 18 जून से इस अखबार ने भी पेंटागन पेपर्स से जुड़ी खबरें छापनी शुरू की। सरकार द वॉशिंगटन पोस्ट के खिलाफ भी कोर्ट में गई, लेकिन 30 जून को सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने प्रेस की स्वतंत्रता का हवाला देते हुए अखबारों को राहत दी और पेंटागन पेपर्स प्रकाशित करने की अनुमति दे दी। फिर सराकर ने डैनियल एल्सबर्ग पर देश के खिलाफ साजिश रचने, जासूसी करने और सरकारी कागजों की चोरी करने जैसे कई आरोप लगा दिए। अदालत ने डैनियल को इन सब आरोपों से बरी कर दिया। उसके बाद अखबारों में सीरीज के रूप में पेंटागन पेपर्स प्रकाशित होते रहे। जून 2011 में अमेरिकी सरकार ने पेंटागन पेपर्स को आम लोगों के लिए रिलीज कर दिया। एक मिलेट्री एनालिस्ट डैनियल एल्सबर्ग ने वियतनाम युद्ध से जुड़ी बेहद खुफिया जानकारी द न्यूयॉर्क टाइम्स अखबार को दी थी। अखबार ने इस पेपर्स से जुड़ी खबरों को जब छापना शुरू किया तो राष्ट्रपति रिचर्ड निक्सन इसके खिलाफ कोर्ट चले गए।

1983 पायनियर 10 नेपच्यून की कक्षा से गुजरा। यह सौर मंडल के ज्ञात ग्रहों से आगे यात्रा करने वाली पहली मानव निर्मित वस्तु बन गई।

1992 जानी मानी खूबसूरत, बोल्ड फिल्म अभिनेत्री एवं माॅडल दिशा पटानी का जन्म बरेली, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ।

1993 किम कैंपबेल कनाडा की पहली महिला प्रधानमंत्री बनीं।

1994 भारत की जानी मानी अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर की तीरंदाज, ओलंपियन दीपिका कुमारी का जन्म रांची में हुआ। इसी दिन मणिपुर के सातवें मुख्यमंत्री हुए राज कुमार जयचंद्र सिंह का निधन हुआ।

1997 फिल्म बॉर्डर देशभर में करीब 290 स्क्रींस पर रिलीज की गई। इसमें से दक्षिणी दिल्ली का ग्रीन पार्क स्थित उपहार सिनेमा भी था। शाम का शो था इसलिए सिनेमाहॉल खचाखच भरा था। फिल्म लगभग आधी होने को थी तब करीब पौने पांच बजे सिनेमाहॉल के भूतल पर लगे एक ट्रांसफॉर्मर में आग लग गई। इससे पहले कोई कुछ समझ पाता, आग ने पूरे हॉल को अपनी चपेट में ले लिया। कोई जलकर मर गया तो किसी की दम घुटने से मौत हो गई। हादसे में 59 लोग मारे गए और 100 से भी ज्यादा लोगों को चोटें आईं। हॉल की पार्किंग में रखी कारें भी जलकर खाक हो गईं।

2001 नेपाल शाही परिवार हत्याकांड में दीपेंद्र की कथित प्रेमिका देवयानी ने जांच आयोग के समक्ष गवाही से इन्कार किया। राजा वीरेंद्र को उनके परिवार के सभी लोगों की हत्या बाद उनके भाई ज्ञानेंद्र सत्ता पर काबिज हुए और बताया यह गया कि देवयानी से दीपेंद्र विवाह करना चाहते थे लेकिन परिवार राजी नहीं हुआ, इसलिए राजकुमार दीपेंद्र ने पूरे परिवार को गोलियां मारकर खुद को भी गोली मार ली। दीपेंद्र की बाद में अस्पताल में मौत हुई। 

2002 अमेरिका ने ऐंटी-बालिस्टिक मिसाइल संधि से खुद को अलग किया।

2003 डेनियल अखमितोव कजाकिस्तान के नये प्रधानमंत्री चुने गये।

2004 लोकतांत्रिक गणराज्य कांगो में राष्ट्रपति जोसेफ कबीला के विरुद्ध तख्ता पलट का प्रयास किया गया जो विफल हुआ। इसी दिन इराक के विदेश उपमंत्री बासम सालिह कुन्बा की हत्या हुई।

2005 पॉपस्टार माइकल जैक्सन 13 साल के बच्चे के यौन उत्पीड़न मामले में कोर्ट से बरी हुए। इसी दिन ईरान ने 2009 के अंत से भारत को तरल प्राकृतिक गैस का निर्यात करने पर सहमत दी।

2006 नाइजीरिया और कैमरून ने सीमा विवाद पर समझौता किया।

2008 टेलिकॉम मलेशिया (टीम) ने आइडिया सेलुलर कंपनी की 15 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी खरीदी। इसी दिन चीन और ताइवान ने विमान सेवा शुरू करने हेतु ऐतिहासिक समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किये।

2012 पाकिस्तान के प्रसिद्ध गजल गायक मेंहदी हसन का निधन हुआ।

2015 प्रति वर्ष 13 जून को संपूर्ण विश्व में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय रंगहीनता जागरूकता दिवस (इंटरनेशनल एल्बिनिज्म अवेयरनेस डे) मनाया जाता है। इसे मनाने का उद्देश्य एल्बिनिज्म (रंगहीनता) के शिकार लोगों से विश्व में होने वाले भेद-भाव के विरुद्ध जागरूकता फैलाना है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा ने प्रतिवर्ष 13 जून को इस दिवस को मनाने की घोषणा 18 दिसंबर, 2014 को की थी। पहला अंतरराष्ट्रीय एल्बिनिज्म जागरूकता दिवस 13 जून 2015 को मनाया गया। एल्बिनिज्म या रंगहीनता एक जन्मजात रोग है, जो त्वचा, बाल और आंखों में मेलानिन की कमी के कारण होता है. इससे प्रभावित लोगों की त्वचा पर सफेद धब्बे होते हैं अथवा कई बार पूर्ण त्वचा ही सफेद हो जाती है।

2016 प्रसिद्ध हिंदी लेखक, उपन्यासकार, नाटककार, आलोचक, समीक्षक तथा व्यंग्यकार मुद्राराक्षस का निधन हुआ। इनका वास्तविक नाम सुभाष चंद्र गुप्ता था।

1325 Ibn Battuta begins his first journey to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Ibn Battuta became an Arab traveller, scholar and writer. He was born on 24 February 1304 in the famous city of Tangier in the Moroccan region of North Africa. His full name was Muhammad bin Abdullah ibn Battuta. Ibn Battuta became the most traveled of Muslim travelers. It is estimated that he had traveled about 75000 miles. Hardly any other traveler of that era had done such a long journey. During his journey, Batuta also came to India and he has mentioned all the things here in his memoirs.

1971 The famous American newspaper New York Times publishes the Pentagon Papers for the first time. Its reporting was done by journalist Daniel Ellsberg. Later on, these papers created a stir in American politics. Many revelations were made in these papers regarding the inhuman role of America in the Vietnam War. The US administration, citing national security, demanded from the court to ban the publication of highly confidential information related to military affairs in newspapers. The court banned the printing of the Pentagon Papers. After this, Daniel Ellsberg gave this information to The Washington Post and from June 18, this newspaper also started publishing news related to the Pentagon Papers. The government also went to court against The Washington Post, but on June 30, the Supreme Court granted relief to the newspaper, citing freedom of the press, and allowed the Pentagon Papers to be published. The government then accused Daniel Ellsberg of conspiracy against the country, espionage and theft of government papers. The court acquitted Daniel of all these charges. After that, the Pentagon Papers continued to be published in newspapers as a series. In June 2011, the US government released the Pentagon Papers to the public. 1994 Olympian Deepika Kumari, well-known international archer of India, was born in Ranchi. Raj Kumar Jayachandra Singh, who became the seventh Chief Minister of Manipur, passed away on this day.

The 1997 film Border was released in about 290 screens across the country. Out of this there was Uphaar Cinema located in Green Park, South Delhi. It was an evening show so the cinema hall was full. The film was almost halfway through when a transformer on the ground floor of the cinema hall caught fire at around quarter to five. Before anyone could understand anything, the fire engulfed the entire hall. Some died of burning and some died of suffocation. 59 people were killed and more than 100 people were injured in the accident. Cars kept in the parking lot of the hall were also gutted.
