1381 जागीरदारों के शोषण-उत्पीड़न के खिलाफ इंग्लैंड में किसानों ने विद्रोह किया।

1665 न्यू एम्स्टर्डम कानूनी तौर पर ब्रिटेन का हिस्सा बना और योर्क के ड्यूक के नाम पर इसका नामकरण न्यूयॉर्क हुआ। न्यू एम्स्टर्डम  मैनहट्टन द्वीप के दक्षिणी सिरे पर स्थापित 17वीं सदी की एक डच बस्ती थी जो न्यू नीदरलैंड में औपनिवेशिक सरकार की अधीन थी। शुरुआती व्यापारिक कारखाने ने फोर्ट एम्स्टर्डम के आसपास स्थापित हुए। न्यूयॉर्क अमेरिका की आजादी के बाद अमेरिका का प्रमुख व्यापारिक - औद्योगिक नगर बना।

1691 पोप एलेक्जेंडर अष्टम के स्थान पर स्पीनाज्जोला, इटली में जन्मे अंतोनिओ पिग्नाटोली को पोप चुना गया। इनका नामकरण हुआ पोप इन्नोसेंट बारहवें।

1752 कर्नाटक में मुस्लिम शासक चंदा साहिब ने मराठों से हुए युद्ध में हारने पर आत्मसमर्पण कर दिया।

1787 अमेरिका में सीनेटर के लिए न्यूनतम आयु सीमा 30 वर्ष कानून पारित कर निर्धारित की गई।

1812 फ्रांस के शासक नेपोलियन बोनापार्ट ने रूस पर हमला किया।

1817 जर्मन आविष्कारक कार्ल ड्रैस मैनेंहिम ने साइकिल का सबसे प्रारंभिक रूप ड्रेसीन या लॉफमास्काइन चलाकर दिखाया।

1830 फ्रांस ने अल्जीरिया के उपनिवेशीकरण की प्रक्रिया शुरु की।

1849 प्रसिद्ध अमेरिकी आविष्कारक लेविस फेक्टिक हेस्लेट को गैस मास्क के आविष्कार के लिए पेटेंट मिला।

1889 उत्तरी आयरलैंड के आर्माग में हुई ट्रेन दुर्घटना में 88 लोग मरे।

1897 असम में आए भयंकर भूकंप से करीब 1500 लोगों की मौत हुई।

1898 जनरल एमिलियो ओगिनाल्डो ने स्पेन से पुर्तगाल के स्वतंत्रत होने की घोषणा की।

1915 प्रख्यात कन्नड़ लेखक, नाटककार, मंच कलाकार, निर्देशक, पत्रकार और सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता सी के नागराज राव का जन्म हुआ।

1919 महात्मा गांधी के हत्यारे नाथूराम गोडसे के बड़े भाई गोपाल गोडसे का जन्म पुणे में हुआ।

1924 अमेरिका के 41वें राष्ट्रपति जॉर्ज हर्बर्ट वॉकर बुश का जन्म हुआ।

1926 ब्राजील ने लीग ऑफ नेशन से बाहर आने का फैसला किया।

1929 जर्मनी प्रसिद्ध लेखिका ऐनी फ्रैंक का जन्म हुआ। जिसकी डायरी दुनिया में सबसे ज्यादा बिकने वाली किताबों में से एक है।

1932 भारत के प्रसिद्ध सिविल इंजीनियर तथा कोंकण रेलवे और दिल्ली में मेट्रो रेल को शुरु कराने वाले ई. श्रीधरन, का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन मशहूर भरत नाट्यम नर्तकी और अभिनेत्री पद्मिनि का जन्म हुआ। विख्यात मराठी फिल्म अभिनेत्री जयश्री तलपड़े का जन्म हुआ।

1949 प्रसिद्ध भारतीय अंग्रेजी पत्रकार, राजनीतिक विश्लेषक और सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता प्रफुल्ल बिदवई का जन्म हुआ।

1952 सोवियत संघ ने जापान के साथ शांति संधि को अवैध घोषित किया।

1955 प्रसिद्ध तेलुगु लेखिका और कवयित्री नंदिनी सिद्दा रेड्डी का जन्म हुआ।

1957 भारतीय जनता पार्टी नेता और मोदी सरकार में कृषि मंत्री नरेन्द्र सिंह तोमर का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन पाकिस्तान के मशहूर बल्लेबाज जावेद मियांदाद का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन जानी मानी हिंदी लेखिका गीतांजलि श्री का जन्म हुआ।

1964 दक्षिण अफ्रीका में रंगभेद के खिलाफ आंदोलन करने वाले नेता नेल्सन मंडेला को उम्र कैद की सजा हुई।

1968 प्रसिद्ध हिंदी एवं मराठी फिल्म और टेलीविजन अभिनेत्री प्रतीक्षा लोंकर का जन्म औरंगाबाद में हुआ।

1972 महात्मा गांधी की जीवनी के लेखक डी.जी तेंदुलकर का निधन हुआ।

1975 इलाहाबाद उच्च न्यायालय ने प्रधानमंत्री इंदिरा गांधी को चुनावी भ्रष्टाचार में दोषी करार दिया। इसी दिन संघ, भाजपा नरेंद्र मोदी समर्थक प्रमुख टीवी एंकर, पत्रकार अंजना ओम कश्यप का जन्म रांची में हुआ।

1976 प्रसिद्ध संस्कृत के विद्वान और दार्शनिक गोपीनाथ कविराज का निधन हुआ।

1979 जाने माने फिल्म निर्देशक और पटकथा लेखक रितेश बत्रा का जन्म हुआ।

1985 प्रसिद्ध भारतीय नर्तक सलमान युसूफ खान का जन्म 1985 में इसी दिन प्रसिद्ध भारतीय महिला हॉकी खिलाड़ी सबा अंजुम करीम का जन्म हुआ।

1987 ब्रिटिश चुनावों में मार्गरेट थैचर की पार्टी को तीसरी बार ऐतिहासिक विजय।

1989 तुर्की के ओट्टोमन राजवंश की आखिरी शहजादी निलोफर का निधन हुआ।

1990 रूस ने खुद को संप्रभु राष्ट्र घोषित किया। 1992 से हर साल 12 जून को रूस दिवस मनाया जाता है।

1991 सोवियत संघ के विघटन के बाद बचे रूस गणराज्य के बोरिस येल्तसिन राष्ट्रपति बने।

1994 जानी मानी खूबसूरत, बोल्ड पंजाबी फिल्म एवं टेलीविजन अभिनेत्री, गायिका, संगीतज्ञ, गीत लेखिका और माॅडल अफसाना खान का जन्म हुआ। इसी दिन भारी भरकम विमान बोइंग-777 ने अपनी पहली उड़ान भरी। इस विमान में दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा ट्विन जेट इंजन लगाया गया था।

1998 भारत और पाकिस्तान को परमाणु परीक्षण के कारण जी-8 के देशों ने ऋण नहीं देने का निर्णय लिया।

1999 कैरीमिनाती के नाम से सुपरिचित भारतीय यूट्यूबर अजय नागर जन्म फरीदाबाद में हुआ। इसी दिन पाकिस्तानी रक्षा बजट में लगभग 11 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि की गई और इसी दिन पूर्वी तिमोर के लिए मिशन हेतु संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद की स्वीकृति।

2000 प्रख्यात मराठी लेखक, नाटककार, हास्यकार, अभिनेता, कथाकार व पटकथाकार, फिल्म निर्देशक, संगीतकार एवं गायक पुरुषोत्तम लक्ष्मण देशपांडे का निधन हुआ।

2001 सीमा मुद्दे पर भारत-बांग्लादेश वार्ता शुरू हुई।

2002 स्वीडन के साथ मैच ड्रा होने के साथ ही अर्जेन्टीना विश्व कप फुटबाल से बाहर हुआ।

2002 विश्व बालश्रम निषेध दिवस की शुरुआत हुई। संयुक्त राष्ट्र के निकाय अंतर्राष्ट्रीय श्रम संगठन आइएलओ, बाल श्रम के खिलाफ लड़ने के प्रयासों पर ध्यान देने और शामिल होने के लिए 2002 में बाल श्रम के खिलाफ विश्व दिवस का शुभारंभ किया। यह दिन बाल श्रम समस्या को इंगित करने और बाल मजदूरों की मदद करने के लिए दिशानिर्देशों को परिभाषित करने के लिए सरकारों, स्थानीय प्राधिकरणों, नागरिक समाजों और नियोक्ता के संगठनों को एक साथ लाता है।

2003 अमेरिकी अभिनेता ग्रेगरी पेक का निधन हुआ।

2004 जार्जिया के सवन्ना में समूह-8 सम्मेलन आयोजित हुआ। इसी दिन अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति बुश ने उत्तरी कोरिया के सर्वोच्च नेता किम जांग द्वितीय के साथ सीधी बातचीत का प्रस्ताव ठुकराया।

2007 कनाडा में होने वाले जीव विज्ञान ओलंपियाड में चार भारतीयों का चयन हुआ। इसी दिन आस्ट्रेलिया के विद्यालयों में सिक्ख छात्रों को धार्मिक प्रतीक कृपाण रखने की इजाजत मिली।

2008 प्रख्यात फिल्म निदेशक मृणाल सेन को 10वें ओसियाना सिनेफैन फिल्म समारोह में पुरस्कृत किया गया।

2013 भारत सरकार ने 163 साल से चली आ रही टेलीग्राम सेवा को बंद करने की घोषणा की। 15 जुलाई 2013 के दिन देश में आखिरी टेलीग्राम भेजा गया।

2016 टेनिस खिलाड़ी सायना नेहवाल ने दूसरी बार ऑस्ट्रेलियाई ओपन खिताब जीता।

2017 ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्कार से सम्मानित तेलुगु भाषा के प्रख्यात कवि सी. नारायण रेड्डी का निधन हुआ।

1952 The Soviet Union declared the peace treaty with Japan invalid.

1955 Nandini Sidda Reddy, noted Telugu writer and poetess, was born.

1957 Narendra Singh Tomar, Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Agriculture Minister in Modi government, was born. Javed Miandad, the famous batsman of Pakistan was born on this day. Renowned Hindi writer Gitanjali Shree was born on this day.

In 1964, anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela was sentenced to life imprisonment in South Africa.

1968 Pratiksha Lonkar, famous Hindi and Marathi film and television actress, was born in Aurangabad.

1972 D.G. Tendulkar, author of Mahatma Gandhi's biography, passed away.

1975 The Allahabad High Court convicted Prime Minister Indira Gandhi of electoral corruption. On this day Sangh, BJP Narendra Modi supporter prominent TV anchor, journalist Anjana Om Kashyap was born in Ranchi.
